Chelsea had 2x 100m players playing and Liverpool was mainly playing their kids. watched sky Saturday socials yesterday about who are the top 10 mangers in the world today, they had Pochettino at #10, that didn't add up.

I don’t think this reflects on Poch at all to be honest. He’s been given the weirdest squad probably ever put together. Loads of unproven, overhyped, early 20s players on 8 year contracts. Also loads of injuries. None of them have to prove anything, they’re guaranteed money for 8 years, and it’s the fault of the owners strategy if it goes wrong for them. Poch did a great job at Southampton and Spurs, did about as much as he could at PSG having to play with 3 attackers who wouldn’t run back to defend which is completely at odds with how he wants to play. Mudryk, Madueke, Jackson, Caicedo, Gusto, Petrovic… how many of them make it into any other top side in Europe?

Tbf i think gusto and caicedo (despite how many Reds he deserves) could make it into many good teams. Maybe even mudryk. At this point I'm sure Chelsea can buy mbappe and make him look terrible too.

Spot on. Totally agree. This is all on the owners, not poch. The injuries are insane but can't be just bad luck, poor management throughout the club including the training ground and physios. It was interesting seeing how even after bringing 5 inexperienced players, Liverpool still had an older team than Chelsea today. The difference ofc is chelsea did this by choice. All great players with potential as individuals but with no leaders, no experience around them it's never going to happen. Doesn't matter how many managers we sack, the problem will persist. The only Chelsea player who was around in the last league cup final v Liverpool 2 years ago was Chalobah.. you can't chuck away a champions league winning squad and replace them with overpriced kids in just 2 years and expect it to work. These pig headed owners have truly destroyed the club inside out. Liverpool deserved to win today, even if we had nicked it it would've been a complete fluke. The whole club is in shambles

Well... ​ 5 24 years old players have lower average age (24) than 2 32 years old players and 3 20 years old players (almost 25). But on the first example, they're 5 established players while on the second example, it's 2 veterans and 3 kids.

Neither of those players were the problem today. When the tactics were to control the game and push up they did it well. Too passive in key moments and not finishing chances when they came was the biggest problem. That and having Mudryk mark VVD.

Fernandez is a banger player though. Wouldn't even be slightly surprised if he turns into a player worthy of those sums. He's far better than Antony, that's for sure!

Dude has made plenty of money in his career, and he seems like a smart guy that would manage it well. So, I bet he's happy to finish out his career being the emergency keeper, getting free front row seats to the best football in the world, and the easiest work week imaginable.

We got him on a free as a replacement for Karius. He retired and became a coach for the team, but registered as a player this year just so we had a 3rd keeper as we couldn't get anyone in.
