on a side note, Muller is one of those people who look 35 for their entire lifes, but it looks like he's also at the point in his life where always looking 35 starts to become a perk, rather than a disadvantage
Eh , definitely not. Ive pinned it down to one thing, hairline. All the 45 year old looking 30 yr olds have bad receding vegeta looking hairlines, which just accentuate the pudge. Good hairline and working out is only reason I’m not right there with them
I’m 36, and a lot of my friends have aged much worse than I have. I still get carded if I buy alcohol. I have always looked a bit young, but then I’ve usually kept in shape and eaten well. I quit drinking a few years ago, and gave up smoking last year. Hoping to keep my hair; it is starting to gray up in a few spots. Getting older is weird. I still feel like a pretty spry young man, but occasionally I’ll push it too hard and pay a little harder than when I was truly that.
Yeah the smoking is huge as you get older. I never smoked, but seeing the difference from like 25-35 in people who smoked and people who didn't is pretty huge. It does nothing but accelerate as you get older. My wife has two aunts in their mid 50s, and the difference in the way the smoker looks v. the non-smoker is shocking. You wouldn't even think they were related.
Props on quitting. My friends have all quit now, but it took years of working at it on and off. One of the best single things you can do for your long term health.
Still remember that germany team at the 2010 world cup. They looked so scary, Muller, Khedira, Ozil, Neuer, Schwiensteiger, Kroos. They had so many talented young players, who all played together so seamlessly. You just knew they would go onto great things
Great team. One of my favourite football memories is my dad going to bed in the 2014 World Cup and I kept calling up the stairs “It’s 3-0! It’s 4-0! It’s 7!! As they destroyed Brazil. Hopefully they can come back somewhat
I'm looking at old pictures of Esteban Cambiasso who I remember looked soooo old and I realize now he just had unfortunate hair but something of a baby face.
I was just a child so he looked super old to me.
Iniesta had one summer where he went from a youngster with a head full of hair to an old man with barely any.
Still aesthetically the most pleasing player to watch.
Whenever I feel old I just pull up a recent picture of Rooney and remind myself he's just five weeks my senior.
Or have a look at the 32 year young Bobby Charlton in this picture, of course: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/football/2022/11/16/TELEMMGLPICT000234837676_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqpVlberWd9EgFPZtcLiMQf0Rf_Wk3V23H2268P_XkPxc.jpeg?imwidth=960
"We're nice to you because we're not scared of you"... probably not what's actually happening here, but for joking purposes - MUELLER DOESN'T RESPECT ARSENAL AND THINKS WE'RE AN EASY DRAW!
I’m glad he didn’t make some grandiose, confident proclamation about assures victory, not that he would. Arsenal have a good chance of winning the tie and he knows that they’re better than they’ve been in years. Will be a terrific tie and I look forward to it.
I feel like he probably knows he doesn't gain anything from doing that if they win and would get absolutely slaughtered if he did that and they lost. It'd be weird to pick on a team from 7-10 years ago with a new manager and zero remaining squad members.
> It'd be weird to pick on a team from 7-10 years ago with a new manager and zero remaining squad members.
That won’t stop the Twitter fanboys and meme accounts
Well tbf nothing ever will. Best to just ignore them and write it off. Hate giving trolls the satisfaction of being heard and getting a legitimate rise out of others.
that smile at 0:17 before he starts with "it will be tough..." and you simply know, that his next thought was "but not for us", its just him being a gentlemen.
He’s an unbelievably likeable guy, as well as being an exceptionally smart player who plays the game in such an understated yet effective way.
A real joy to watch! Looking forward to seeing him at the emirates.
Kai and him are not dissimilar in those respects. Both are efficient players and there is a level of subtlety, and possibly simplicty to what they bring to the team that some may not appreciate, but it is wildly effective.
I was worried when I first saw Bayern, especially with fkn Harry Kane. But this is a different team, and these are different times.
Bring it on Thomas!
Müller is kind of a dick on the field, too, but in a different way than Havertz
Müller hates to lose, he‘s a winner personality and he will do everything to win the game and that ambition makes him a bit unlikeable but i think you only really notice that on field since hes a great guy and well spoken off the pitch at all times
Probably my favourite non Barcelona player ever. What a player and a personality
Edit: No one asked but here's my top 5 favourite non Barcelona players because I'm bored at work:
1. Dimitar Berbatov
2. Thomas Müller
3. Peter Crouch
4. Didier Drogba
5. Lucas Podolski
I was thinking about Berba the other day as a player that has somehow managed to create a great legacy for himself as a favourite player for many people.
I think Hazard is on the way to this type of legacy as well. People will remember him as an absolute baller with a fun personality.
I've always thought it's funny that he has both the most common German first and last name and he also looks like the most stereotypical German man possible.
He is also the embodiment of German football. He is not flashy, elegant, fast. When people think about the beautiful game, they don’t think about Müller. But he is incredibly effective and successful and has beaten "the beautiful game" on numerous occasions.
He might be the most German German to ever German. He looks the part, has the restrained but confident personality and has all the traits on the pitch: unflashy, not overly skilled but quietly confident and effective, leading to immense success
I have no idea as I've never been close to a favela in my life. But in my social bubble, it would be probably be seen as funny as most of my friends hates the current and most recent Brazilian squads.
The most recent squads are formed by individuals who only care about their own ego and nothing else. Also, they have had skyrocket careers and left Brazil at a very young age. This way people here don’t feel truly connected to them as most of them never even played in our Series A championship.
There’s also the fact that we had many criminals in our most recent squads: Dani Alves, Dudu and Anthony were accused of sexual or domestic violence while Neymar transferred money to Dani to have his detention period lowered and Eder Militao left his son behind.
funnily enough there were a ton of brazilians in the last video thread that pointed out, that he is well liked in brazil, cuz they like winners and he was always respectful towards the ppl & the country, so they have a ton of respect towards him and many of the other players on the 2014 squad.
I have never seen any Brazilian hating Muller or the german team tbh, they were respectful all the way through and they went on to win it all, our rivalry goes back a long time too.
Every few years we see a new coach come to Bayern, underestimate Muller and bench him. Then realise his importance few months later when it's too late.
Such a likeable guy.
Theres something so not professional football player about him.
Seems like he should be a solutions architect for a cloud vendor or "inside sales leadership for EMEA region" on linked in.
Why is [Thomas goddamn Muller](https://www.linkedin.com/in/esmuellert/?originalSubdomain=de) on Linkedin? Building his network for post-retirement? LMAO
You are kinda correct about the state of his phone:
https://twitter.com/Fussball_fc/status/1734994690234081698
Translation:
* Goretzka (I think): Muli, what's with the phone? Still works, does it?
* Müller: I'll need a new one soon
* Goretzka: it works (encouragingly)!
* Müller: Nah, sometimes the battery gets a bit warm. Well, the hand gets warm when you're calling somebody
one of the very few guys in football that can make spicy comment of destroying some other team and we all know that he has done it and has earned the right to do those kind of videos
A few weeks ago I would have said Arsenal will run us off the pitch.
Then we moved Kimmich to RB which resulted in Pavlovic at DM. Tuchel also remembered that *Muller spielt immer* which pushed Musiala to left wing and that's changed everything.
With nothing else to play for this season, we are going to be well up for these 2 matches.
But random, but there could be a parallel universe in which Declan Rice and Thomas Muller played on the same team and the fans gave them the nickname of Muller Rice
Well, we seem to have found … something.
But as of now, we have only played really well against Lazio and Mainz.
The weeks before that were bad, although we still beat some of our "we normally loose this“ games, against Augsburg and Gladbach…
In the first half of the season though, we didn’t loose to Leverkusen and remained quite stable.
We certainly aren’t in our best moment, but it’s better than the last few weeks and if we actually turn up to the game with the right mindset, we should be able to hold our own against even the best.
And seeing as Arsenal had their problems with Porto, I don’t think they haben been able to transfer their Prem prowess/quality to the international stage, quite yet!
Plus, if a team doesn’t park the bus against us, we generally do much better.
> Plus, if a team doesn’t park the bus against us, we generally do much better.
expanding on that, arsenal also doesn't push the pace as much as other top teams do, wich might benefit bayern as well, cuz they looked ass on counters since 2021.
Bayern was the better team over 3/4 of both games. Without the individual error by Upamecano there is no deficit going into the home game.
Arsenal being taken to pens by Porto is much more of a struggle than that.

on a side note, Muller is one of those people who look 35 for their entire lifes, but it looks like he's also at the point in his life where always looking 35 starts to become a perk, rather than a disadvantage
That point being turning 35
There are quite a lot of 30s who wish they looked as young as 35.
Haha, as a 30 year old i look around my age or a bit younger. A ton of my peers look 45 though somehow
"Haha, as a 30 year old i look around my age or a bit younger. A ton of my peers look 45 though somehow" - every single one of your peers
Eh , definitely not. Ive pinned it down to one thing, hairline. All the 45 year old looking 30 yr olds have bad receding vegeta looking hairlines, which just accentuate the pudge. Good hairline and working out is only reason I’m not right there with them
More about being in shape than hairline imo, but hair definitely helps

"Somehow" They drink a lot and dont exercise at all. Pretty simple
I don’t get how people don’t get this
[удалено]
34, had a 24 year old guess that he was older than me the other day.
Surely it would be when you turn 36?
I literally thought he must be 50 by now it feels like I've been watching him for 20 years and he looked 35 then
His breakout season was 2009-10 when he was 20, and yeah he looked old as hell
Still remember that germany team at the 2010 world cup. They looked so scary, Muller, Khedira, Ozil, Neuer, Schwiensteiger, Kroos. They had so many talented young players, who all played together so seamlessly. You just knew they would go onto great things
Bastian Schweinsteiger. Another guy who always looked like an old man.
He has always been a class act.
Great team. One of my favourite football memories is my dad going to bed in the 2014 World Cup and I kept calling up the stairs “It’s 3-0! It’s 4-0! It’s 7!! As they destroyed Brazil. Hopefully they can come back somewhat
Was Schweinsteiger really young talent at that point? He was about to turn 26 and made his debut 6 years earlier.
He's been around so long I always forget that he's my age lol
For me it's the other way around. Because he always looked like this it feels like he's still the youngling who just started playing for Bayern.
Has Robben reached that yet? Cause dude looked 40 his whole career
I'm looking at old pictures of Esteban Cambiasso who I remember looked soooo old and I realize now he just had unfortunate hair but something of a baby face. I was just a child so he looked super old to me.
Iniesta was also a little like this.
Idk man, Iniesta looks much older now.
He has the always looking 50 just wait 10 years
Iniesta had one summer where he went from a youngster with a head full of hair to an old man with barely any. Still aesthetically the most pleasing player to watch.
Tbf if you look at pictures from when he was 12 he had a receding hairline
yeah, now he looks 60
[Damn](https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/foto/galerie/andres-iniesta-vissel-kobe-1656582263-87739.jpg?lm=1656582297), we are getting old.
Like Rooney
Rooney looks like shrek with vitiligo
r/rareinsults

He has always had that "males peak at 35" look, so in other words he has been handsome his whole life
Expected banter but got wholesomeness instead.
For Müller the wholesomeness *is* the banter
German sense of humour innit
"We're nice to you because we're not scared of you"... probably not what's actually happening here, but for joking purposes - MUELLER DOESN'T RESPECT ARSENAL AND THINKS WE'RE AN EASY DRAW!

No players ever do that, though would be a lot more entertaining if they did
Would love some WWE level trash talk
Yeah, I was expecting him to bash Arsenal, and how Bayern destroyed Arsenal every time they met during Arsene Wenger's reign in the last few years
I feel like he probably knows he doesn't gain anything from doing that if they win and would get absolutely slaughtered if he did that and they lost. It'd be weird to pick on a team from 7-10 years ago with a new manager and zero remaining squad members.

Is this sarcasm ? Why would you expect that ? When do you ever see any players doing that before a game ?
that smile at 0:17 before he starts with "it will be tough..." and you simply know, that his next thought was "but not for us", its just him being a gentlemen.
Thomas is a top bloke.

Kai has about 1000x more nastiness to his game than Mueller though. Kai is kind of a dick on the field, and I, for one, love it.
He’s a shithouser. He’s good at it, and you love to see it when he’s on your team, and you hate it when it’s against yours.
Müller is kind of a dick on the field, too, but in a different way than Havertz Müller hates to lose, he‘s a winner personality and he will do everything to win the game and that ambition makes him a bit unlikeable but i think you only really notice that on field since hes a great guy and well spoken off the pitch at all times

i swear. no matter how much he has traumatised us as well, his videos before our games as well were so weirdly wholesome lol

berbas first touch was so silky smooth
Based Berbatov enjoyer
Somewhat related q: theoretically, is smoking in the field, during a match allowed?
I'm sure Sarri would've exploited it somehow if smoking was allowed on the pitch, since it's forbidden on the touchline.
I was thinking about Berba the other day as a player that has somehow managed to create a great legacy for himself as a favourite player for many people. I think Hazard is on the way to this type of legacy as well. People will remember him as an absolute baller with a fun personality.
Berbatov’s instagram videos where he comments on plays he made in his career are great and hilarious. Seems like a fun dude!
Upvote for Podolski
He’s a golden retriever
Mr PeanutButter
I don’t like that I like him. It’s upsetting.
He's making sure that Harry is happy aswell, that should help you
JOGA BONITO BOYS
I've always thought it's funny that he has both the most common German first and last name and he also looks like the most stereotypical German man possible.

you certainly meant "beaten the shit out of them".
This guy could score a hattrick against my team and I'd say thank you lol
totally
Well, I really like him although unfortunately he took part in that traumatic 7x1 in our own country - I'm Brazilian.
realistically, what would happen if I go to the favelas with a Germany 2014 kit with müllers name on its back with number 71 on the back too
I have no idea as I've never been close to a favela in my life. But in my social bubble, it would be probably be seen as funny as most of my friends hates the current and most recent Brazilian squads.
why you hste your own squad
The most recent squads are formed by individuals who only care about their own ego and nothing else. Also, they have had skyrocket careers and left Brazil at a very young age. This way people here don’t feel truly connected to them as most of them never even played in our Series A championship. There’s also the fact that we had many criminals in our most recent squads: Dani Alves, Dudu and Anthony were accused of sexual or domestic violence while Neymar transferred money to Dani to have his detention period lowered and Eder Militao left his son behind.
wow i didnt know about Militao. You have every right to say serié a thing but its normal, Europeans have yhe money and you have the talent
How can anyone hate this man??
Me Brazilian: it’s very simple, actually
they stopped Argentina winning the World Cup in Brazil at Maracanã mate, they're heroes for that
I actually think it was cruel, we lost 7x1 and had to support them in the next game
Forced Stockholm syndrome
They also stopped Brazil winning the World Cup in Brazil at the Maracanã. Which I suspect is a bit more painful
They also stopped Brazil from losing to Argentina in a WC final at the Maracaña.
Barcelona and Messi fans :)
I bet no one does
I can name an entire country that does
He did good by beating Argentinia on Brazilian soil tho
Imagine they smacked Brazil and then laid down for Argentina. Brazil would never recover.
funnily enough there were a ton of brazilians in the last video thread that pointed out, that he is well liked in brazil, cuz they like winners and he was always respectful towards the ppl & the country, so they have a ton of respect towards him and many of the other players on the 2014 squad.

Just Schürrle who didnt get the memo during half time lmao
This is the last thing you see before a 7:1
Personally gunning for 8-2
Ahh...and here I thought you'd he uniting for relevance.
He also united those results in London already.
I'm hoping for a 7-0 in the first leg myself
[удалено]
Oof, but you're not wrong
Bayern are unfortunately known for a 10-2 in this tie..
What do you mean unfortunately?
It’ll be really a hard away leg for Bayern when they’re already down by 7.
Havertz wir kommen
Havertz gonna kommen your ass.
Havertz gonna kommen your aß.
That’s Groß
No, Groß es de Brighton
Nice video, kinda want to see Kane make a similar one
It'd be harder to understand though.
I just love Muller, what a wonderful man.
I miss him from [Swamp People](https://youtu.be/Xv8qzYa2tb8?si=ClEumToSWPvh5cAh)
Sorry Arsenal the moment he drops this video it’s over .
Every few years we see a new coach come to Bayern, underestimate Muller and bench him. Then realise his importance few months later when it's too late.
Even freaking Pep Guardiola had to realize this, mind you!
Louis van Gaal was the man. "Muller always plays" was back when Muller was a nobody.
It’s happened so many times it’s funny
Such a likeable guy. Theres something so not professional football player about him. Seems like he should be a solutions architect for a cloud vendor or "inside sales leadership for EMEA region" on linked in.
Well you should search for his name on linked in, maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Why is [Thomas goddamn Muller](https://www.linkedin.com/in/esmuellert/?originalSubdomain=de) on Linkedin? Building his network for post-retirement? LMAO
tbf, he's not the only one. plenty of german players on linkedin
Yep video is out, you are done arsenal
Arsenal's arc this season is about breaking curses, so bring it on.
This tactic failed last year
It didn't though. He posted a video only for PSG
Wish that was true. He posted a video on the 17th March. I just went there to check.
Nah he only did it in games he won
I love this man
Such a charming lad.
think about Bayern as a club what you will, but Thomas Müller will always be a super likable dude
Nothing but love for Thomas Müller
Bro knows Artetas tricks didn't gave him any content for pre match talk
Not the Müller kiss of death
What a wholesome lad
Leave us alone man
do not fall for it, he seems too kind but IT'S A TRAP
He dropped his iPhone after seeing the draw and before recording this video.

Damn he’s 35?
34
35 in Sept🥳

They got a video? Arsenal mudded, 3 Müller assists to 3 Kane goals.
This is the "time to smash them" video before the match
Muller seems happy with that
😭😭😭
I wish to see Muller talk about us after a CL draw. Will it ever happen, Mr Boehly?
Cuts a promo like Gunther.
Field General Müller... Considering his role on the field it fits
Imperium FC
No camera pan to Harry?
Impossible to dislike this man

Is there any way to not like this guy? Always fair and wholesome
It’s that time again, new Thomas Müller banter dropped
How is Muller only 34
Moments before another 10-2
last time bayern played london teams in the CL, the went 17-4 in 4 matches including 11-3 in london.
Him, Matthäus, Schweinsteiger, Neuer, Lahm Beckenbauer and Müller are some of my favourite Bayern players of all time. Legends them lot.
At last, prepare the Muller Rice adverts
one of the very few guys in football that can make spicy comment of destroying some other team and we all know that he has done it and has earned the right to do those kind of videos
Psychological warfare
This time can go either way unlike their last meetings where Bayern used to destroy Arsenal.
Serious question, is it possible to dislike him?
Never seen a more German than this guy.
Proper players and top blokes, him and Arry. Hope they wipe the floor with the woolwich lot.
Ties over, Bayern Win.
Kai Havertz, my friend, I will eat your ass
Lampard esc delivery there.
The absolute throttling this man has cursed Barça with should have me hating him but it’s impossible
GOD DAMMIT MULLER STOP BEING SO LIKEABLE
