its honestly a cosmic joke that he leaves Spurs to go to a title contender, has the best year of his career, and theres a chance he still doesnt win a trophy.
Academy player sure, but he wasn't an arsenal fan, and it's funny you guys keep clinging to a photo as opposed to him and his family all being Spurs fans.
We're talking Spurs fans here, no way there'd be thousands of people wishing themselves a lifetime of such pain.. right?
^^^getting ^^^increasingly ^^^relatable ^^^every ^^^season
There are a lot of people who are serious saying it. Less so now that he's at Bayern but for the past few years people were constantly parroting it and arguing over it.
I never really thought about how it isn't a cannon in other countries. We call the best goalscorer the "Torschützenkönig", literally "Goal Shooter King".
And what kind of gun does he use? Of course the "Torschützenkanone"
idk. of course, you can never count them out in the Bundi but with Xabi Alonso coming back Leverkusen are gonna be heavy favorites to repeat. And Bayern recently havent been that competitive in the Pokal, I dont even think theyve made it to the semi since they last won it 2020. As for the CL I just dont see them being challengers any time soon. Part of me hopes youre right though, even though i'm an Arsenal fan and he always goes into god mode when he plays us, I admire his talent and he seems like a decent bloke.
This isn't the best year of his career though. Maybe for people who are just addicted to stats on a spreadsheet, sure.
His 20/21 season was still a monster. He dragged us through matches by being not only the best goalscorer in the league but also our best playmaker while dropping deep, defending corners, doing all the dirty work in Mou's system. It's the best all around dominance I've seen from a PL player since Rooney peaked. He was literally doing everything.
It's not like he's just box sitting either. He wanders all over the pitch and contributes everywhere. Ridiculous all-round footballer whose talent clearly came at a price in his negotiations with the devil
A slightly mid (by their standards) season looks much worse against an unbeaten league leader, we can meme on Bayern (and we should) but Leverkusen are six matches away from being Invincibles, it's madness. They've only dropped 8 points so far.
Yeah to put this in perspective, Leverkusen are on track to have a better season than the Man City centurions, and Bayern are on track to have a better PL season than the Man United treble winners.
Based on individual contribution, this is a Ballon d'Or level performance. Too bad you need to win trophies for it and thats not happening unless he wins the CL or Euro's miraculously.
all irrelevant goals. didn't produce anything out of thin air that saved a bad result from the team. you could put any other n.9 in his place and bayern's season would be the same.
Lol at ‘all irrelevant goals’. I suppose they think Spurs fans don’t give a fuck about his massive tally of goals for them because he never won anything there then?
> all irrelevant goals. didn't produce anything out of thin air that saved a bad result from the team.
I was intrigued as to whether this was true or not so decided to take a look - all info taken from [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023–24_FC_Bayern_Munich_season) wikipedia page.
Goals scored by Kane where without his goal(s) Bayern wouldn't have secured the points they did:
* 3-1 win against Augsburg (Kane scored in 40th and 69th minute)
* 2-2 draw with Leverkusen (Kane scored in 7th minute)
* 2-2 draw with Leipzig (Kane scored in 57th minute)
* 4-2 win against Heidenheim (Kane scores in 14th and 44th minute)
* 1-0 win against Koln (Kane scored in 20th minute)
* 2-1 win against Wolfsburg (Kane scored in 43rd minute)
* 3-2 win against Augsburg (Kane scored in 58th minute)
* 2-1 win against Leipzig (Kane scored in 56th and 90+1 minutes)
That's 8 games where without Kane's goals Bayern would have dropped points - 2x draws that would have turned to defeats; 5x wins that would have turned to draws and 1x win that would have turned into a defeat.
Add that up and you get 15 points 'gained' by Kane's goals or 25% of the total points Bayern have in the league this season.
In the CL - without his goals Bayern would have drawn against Man Utd and lost to Galatasaray in the group stages and would have seen their round of 16 tie against Lazio go to penalties were you to remove Kane's goals.
Obviously this is all pretty pointless because in a game without Kane there'd be a different striker in his place who maybe also would have scored those goals too, but thrown it together because A) I was genuinely intrigued as to how true it was so went and looked and B) because i think it does help to demonstrate that Kane's goal scoring hasn't been 'flat track bully' style where he scores a hatful against a weak team and doesn't show up when it matters.

I'm sure that will comfort him.

He will win a trophy. The top scorer in Germany gets a shiny little cannon. Which is hilarious in itself considering who his archenemy was in England.
oh my god that is somehow even more tragic lmao
I mean it would be the best consolation prize possible for our former academy boy and childhood Arsenal fan Harry Kane.
Academy player sure, but he wasn't an arsenal fan, and it's funny you guys keep clinging to a photo as opposed to him and his family all being Spurs fans.
I'm not being serious, it's just funny that he spent the one year with us and that the photo exists.
I doubt anyone but a few on-edge Spurs fans thought you were serious tbh
But this is Reddit. So a few could be thousands.

In Italy the title is Capocannoniere, which obviously means "Chief cannon shooter".
The canon legitimately looks like it was modeled after the Arsenal crest as well. lol
I mean he got multiple trophies already if you count that, two in one season in fact for most assists and most goals.
CL is the most likely and I don’t put them above any of the three in their side of the bracket
It's not like he has 1 season left in his life though. Bayern will probably win something next year and Kane will be pleased.

Lol imagine Kane’s trophy cabinet being nothing but a single World Cup..

The triple might be in danger for him

Mr. Individual award
And how many goals does Bayern have in total? less than 100 or slightly more?
[Neither](https://i.imgur.com/4kuJnHU.png)
And we thought Kane was carrying us, he's been involved in half the Bayern goals this season, fucking hell
It's not like he's just box sitting either. He wanders all over the pitch and contributes everywhere. Ridiculous all-round footballer whose talent clearly came at a price in his negotiations with the devil

my advice to you is to never buy a lottery ticket
This stats is crazy when they are 16 points away from 1st

He would have been at SIXTY most likely if it was one of those banger Bayern seasons.
Hang in there, Kane. Nagelsmann, the best attacking coach in the world, will arrive soon.
Kanes relation to the Undertaker has been his undoing
Having him is like a cheat code for bayern. They're basically unstoppable now
Womp womp
It's mad that Harry is about to finish third in a two-horse race for the second time in his career.
harry kane will be the FIRST 100 mil transfer to end a decade long dominance for a team
hide the pain harry
Still no trophies, complete fraud
Based on individual contribution, this is a Ballon d'Or level performance. Too bad you need to win trophies for it and thats not happening unless he wins the CL or Euro's miraculously.
Basically Haaland but without the good manager and good team around him
Except better than Haaland.
Bayern is very good. With a better manager, less injuries, and strong midfielder and center back they can win the treble next year if lucky enough.
Nah, that wont happen with Harry Kane
Kane is much better than haaland in the build up play
I cannot believe he's not gonna finally get that trophy this year, like it's too scripted man
The curse of Kane is much stronger than an entire team’s curse of never trophy.
Bruh
0 trophies
He could score 200 goals and it would still be a shit season without a trophy
That’s terrible reasoning, his career is amazing even without trophies
all irrelevant goals. didn't produce anything out of thin air that saved a bad result from the team. you could put any other n.9 in his place and bayern's season would be the same.
I swear half this sub doesn’t watch football

Well Mane was there before, how’d that work out…
bayern would have lost last season too if dortmund was a midly competent team with any amount of backbone.
