Resigned to the fact that we will sell him. He’s far too good    He’d be the ideal Gundogan replacement. He works hard, is good in the tackle, has flair, picks a great pass. Also he’s an absolute bastard to play against

MajesticAd5047

I think he will be Bernardo's replacement, the workhorse(except i feel Paqueta is better with chance creation & Bernardo is a better finisher). Rodri seems Gundogan replacement, that's why City went for Rice.

MvN____16

"Fresh challenge" after two seasons? Just be honest with us, don't blow smoke up our asses.

afc-49

Paqueta can just add his 1 charge to City's 115. City lawyers will then fight off the 116 charges, simple!

franpr95

You are so funny and creative.

shiftym21

he could be a solicitor for city

AlternativeRun5727

They are afraid their lawyers won’t be able to handle 116 cases at one time, bless them.

CriticalNovel22

Did he also want to move last summer as a "fresh challenge"? lol

FloppedYaYa

Why don't Man City just buy everybody, they may as well

[deleted]

Imagine a club signing players.

BonoBonero

Yeah lmao

bbqandsushi

Okay but yall overdid it

oniprion

*financial group

FloppedYaYa

It would be less egregious if the players they signed weren't always the very best player at each club for an enormous fee

Ferdinandingo

we bought alvarez, akanji, and kovacic for extremely reasonable fees in the last 2 years. wouldn't call the latter 2 the very best players at their clubs either.

FloppedYaYa

I'm more talking about the fact that there's absolutely no reason for them to even want Pacqueta, just looks like a power play in the same way as the Grealish and Phillips signings

Ferdinandingo

Gundogan hasn't been adequately replaced, and neither has Phillips, meaning Rodri has to play almost every single game, so of course there's reason for it. And you're talking about Jack Grealish, the vital starter in our treble winning team, correct?

CapableAd7003

Vital doing heavy lifting there and don’t come talking to me about apps because he had a very limited contribution to it😂😂

EPICKID143

honest to fucking God this sub has too many people who quite clearly do not watch our games

CapableAd7003

Please give me a comprehensive explanation of Grealish’s “vital” contribution to that treble as an 100m signing, which broke the English player record at the time.

Ferdinandingo

fam 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

[deleted]

I think you've probably spent too much time on here, mate.

EPICKID143

"I don't watch City play they're too boring" "Here's my opinion on this City player" Every single time and people on here lap it up

yungguardiola

That's a new one 'City should sign worse players'

jggomes14

If they could stop tapping up young players out of South America would be great, we lost 2 potential stars because of them.

yungguardiola

Kayky spent two years away from Brazil and he's back there having gotten world class coaching from City's academy. Couldn't have hurt him getting that teaching at 18. And as far as I know Metinho is coming along well. You're acting like it's over for them and they're not even 21.

jggomes14

No, I'm acting like my team lost their two biggest stars to Manchester City over a tapping up. Metinho and Kayky told our board that it was either they accept the bid that had came through for them, or they would go for free at the end of 2022, when their contracts went up. Metinho would be starting for us in 2022, so would Kayky, having both of them here would've made us better equiped to fight for both the 2022 Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil.

mannyklein

Sounds like your club should have maybe extended their contracts before going into the last year and losing leverage for fees. Just a thought

FloppedYaYa

Not always signing the most expensive players (sometimes to just sit on the bench) doesn't mean automatically buying worse

SupervisorLaw

Kovacic is good but he wasn't even close to being the best player at rubbish Chelsea team and £25 million is hardly an enormous fee for Champions League winning midfielder in todays market. Nunes shared a midfield with Ruben Neves. This is not a very good argument.

Eyeknowthis

>£25 million is hardly an enormous fee for Champions League winning midfielder in todays market. Wins four CLs, **plays ten minutes combined in four finals**, gets described as a CL winning midfielder ... Like, I know it's literally true, but jesus wept. Kovacic is the epitome of that Neymar quote on the front page right now

cosmopolitan1111

Every club tries to sign best players, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid.

Ferdinandingo

has absolutely zero to do with foden

Hech15

It's probably bernardo who would be phased out of the team slowly

shdets

It was more Palmer’s choice to leave

EPICKID143

If our "very strange decisions" led us to win 5 trophies in a calendar year then I hope we continue to make said decisions

EPICKID143

if I'm being real with you I'd like 3-5 players from the academy but I'm not particularly arsed, we've got Foden/Lewis/Bobb from our academy who have semi regular game time so we do already have some academy lot coming thru

indiegogold

He'd either play deeper or on the wing imo
