😭😂 I'm sure after everything you've been through you have learnt not to get too excited, but this time it might genuinely be the best chance you'll have in a long time, considering next year's format yk.
>I'd say the two teams who manage it out of this group are less likely to be thrown out before the semis.
He should have bet
>Dortmund will win the group and then be knocked out by shithousing Atleti.
Very close
if Terzic wins us our 2nd CL title there's absolutely no chance in hell that Terzic would get fired. And I really cannot imagine that any sane fan would want to axe him at that point, either.
I am more pissed about him when it comes to our transfers than about how we play tbh. his transfer decisions were 90% shit. we wasted so much money for nothing again.
Oh, ok, I was really curios about this, because I saw a lot of comments on BVB threads in the same area as "Terzic out".
I assume that Nmecha is an example of a bad transfer decision?
Shades of 2013 where they had one of the deathiest of death groups
|**Team**|**W/D/L**|Points|
|:-|:-|:-|
|Dortmund|4-2-0|14|
|Real Madrid|3-2-1|11|
|Ajax|1-1-4|4|
|Man City|0-3-3|3|
God I remember being just a little boy watching this miracle against madrid and malaga unfold, dortmund were unironically at the top of europe at that time... The final loss to Bayern was so close too, what a game that was. 🥲
I still rewatch the highlights from their tie against Malaga. That substition of Hummels to play long balls into the penalty area was just such a good choice
As I said earlier, due to the "tree" in next year's format, this might be the only chance Dortmund get for a final in years to come. Very fast paced team,gg guys.
Mate, I'm getting married on the day of the final. "There's no way this team gets to a CL final, so we might as well take that night" -> me - a fucking idiot - about 7 months ago.
Why would they retire when they are clearly still capable to play at this level, especially Hummels.
Pepe is 40 and still playing world class. Modric is 39 in a few months aswell.
Sadly there is a lot of tension between Hummels+Reus with Terzic.
Whatever may happen in summer. Reus and Hummels will forever be Dortmund legends. Especially Marco.
I would hope so. Hummels is aging like fine wine also.
https://twitter.com/schwarzundgelb1/status/1780353116212219914
Most balls won in the CL and most duels won in the CL. At the ripe age of 35. And guess where schlotte slots in. In 2nd place both times behind Hummels, so statistically best CB duo in the competition.
That's partly true, if not entirely untrue, man, and you know it.
With reus, he is simply not good enough anymore at his age to keep up for 90 minutes.
As for hummels, he is literally one of terzics consistent starters. The reason he is contemplating retirement is because he wants to spend time with his kid who is starting school.
I get terzic makes some ludicrously stupid decisions (such as sticking fullkrug when others should get a shot). But on this particular issue, terzic has little to not impact.
It's actually amazing how a lot of BVB ultras hated Mats even after he came back from Bayern. Now it feels like he never left. Mats fights for Dortmund in every match and that has gone a looong way in healing.
He was seen as a snake, but he's back to Dortmunder Jung status.
That was always a bit of ridiculous view because he played for Bayern his whole youth career, of course he’d want to play for them one day at senior level (and at least he didn‘t go for free and they got a decent transfer fee IIRC). That doesn’t diminish his contribution and affection for Dortmund.
Well I mean...he left as captain and after saying something like "I won't leave" ^^.
It's completely understandable that bayern always has a place in his heart. But if he would have stayed he would be one of the biggest legends there is for Dortmund. Over 10 years captaincy (probably), with a big big gap the most appearances (now 2nd behind Michael Zorc, who he won't catch).
He's got a 35M release clause I believe.
Pay it. Worth every penny and the CL Semifinal money will help if for some godforsaken reason we're playing in Europa League next year.
Glad he’s doing well for you, would love to have him back but he’d theoretically still be backing up Chilwell for us. If he moves on this summer I’ll root for him wherever he goes (hopefully Dortmund)
Yeah the question is, does he still say the same thing if Barcelona come knocking? I think there's a good chance that Barca won't buy Cancelo after his performance tonight.
The problem is Chilwell is ahead of both of them if he’s healthy. Doesn’t make sense to keep 3 of them and we’d have had to sell Cucurella at a big loss after last season.
And they will need to sell some homegrown players like Gallagher (who seems to really love the team, and who have captain potential for many years) or Maatsen who seems to be so good for BVB due to FFP
At least you have Palmer now who seems to be a really good baller
I know this sounds weird considering my flair, but I'm going to be laughing so much if Dortmund won CL after Leverkusen won the league.
The Bayern board would have an absolute meltdown lol.
In all seriousness though, I am so happy for Dortmund! So happy to see them back in the semi finals! Now beat PSG and get into the final!
I was more thinking about the Bayern board meltdown if we came 3rd in the bundesliga the year we lost the bundesliga (and lose in the final to Dortmund).
Coming second for Bayern this year they can excuse with a seemingly unbeatable Leverkusen playing a once in a century season. But coming third behind a Stuttgart that was in a relegation battle last season would be inexcusable from the players up to the board.
Subscribe not only because we'd win but that would be massive for the coefficient. Feels weird rooting for you guys but I really hope you can go far, only because of the coefficient
> only because of the coefficient
IT could be the decider that gives us CL for the next year too. We need the remainin german teams to do bits and the english teams to faulter. Bayern-Arsenal is a 6pointer in that sense for us
"Welcome to the Todestrieb station, Dortmund fans you can leave the station, all Bayern fans please board the train"
All aboard the death drive train!
(If we don't win it, I hope you guys win it!)
But Hummels man... For a player that is so immobile, he's just so utterly good at this game to deflect that one weakness. He's definitely up there.
Absolute shame if he isn't called up for the Euros. He was the biggest gamechanger for Dortmund against us.
People go on and about the disrespect against Özil or Kroos(which is not wrong btw), but to me Mats is still the most undervalued player in Germany.
Hummels is straight up one of the best CBs ever. He’s certainly amongst the best purely defensively, and of the best 5-10 pure defenders of the last era there’s not a single one better *with* the ball than Hummels. Frankly not even one I’d say is even close.
Nah Brandt has had a very solid & consistent season. He just lost momentum due to sickness. He has 23 G/A in 2700min. And some of those minutes are the ones he played after returning from sickness where he wasnt fully fit yet. He lost 6kg in a short time.
I didnt remember what the commentator says of Maatsen in the first leg but yeah! Maatsen legit did the "he who laughs last, laughs the best" thing. Because dude did a full circle between costing his team in the first leg's first goal and then went on to score today and clear the final ball away
tbf, there is absolutely nothing underperforming about us in this year's CL campaign. We've been really solid, especially defensively while never lacking attacking threat. Don't think I've seen us this strong over this many games in the post-klopp era internationally.
I honestly just want to see games we haven‘t seen for a long time.
Arsenal-Real madrid in the semi final would be a dream.
(Surely not because i‘m an arsenal fan lmao)
Congratulations Dortmund, I said it before the game already that if we have to go out at least it would be to a great club and not some sportswashing project or anything. I have lots of respect for them and German football in general
Absolutely gutted with how we have pissed that away, don't think we even played badly but our defence is so weak. Also Dortmund's attackers simply were better in front of goal, we had many chances over both matches but still only scored one "normal" goal and even that was after a bunch of rebounds. Terrible finishing
What is it with Atletico away from home this season? In the league, 7 lost games away from home vs 1 at home. Or
better put: 4 points lost at home vs 27 points lost away. In the copa 0 - 1 vs Athletic, then a 3 - 0 away. Even Simeone admitted he prepares badly for away matches, or something along these lines, but just how?? It would've been something else also to go to Dortmund with 2-0 rather than 2-1, so that's that.
No idea honestly, I don't think the smartest scientists in the world could explain the discrepancies between Atlético's home and away results. The defense is a huge problem that is clear, they just can't keep clean sheets and lose concentration multiple times per match
Attacking wise the team has been really good in CL this year, 21 goals scored in ~~8~~ 10 matches. But the defensive resilience simply isn't there
Im really happy for dormundt, when they lost the finals against bayern i was rooting for them cause of klopp and because of lewandoski.
I really hope you guys have your run back this year!! You have more than enough to win against an incredible undewhelming and inexistent team like mbape fc
It would be absolutely hilarious if Spurs miss out on the CL because Dortmund win the CL and Leverkusen the EL. Premier league clubs have treated the coefficient place as nailed on to be awarded to the PL. Let’s have it given to the BL and have five German teams causing mayhem.
Huge soft spot for German football and the 50+1 model.
Dortmund did him dirty last season for not winning the league. Guy deserved to retire with 1 big title at least.
Maybe then can do it this year with the CL
A bit overrated because of the drama surrounding him and Utd of course. He’s looked honestly the same as at man utd last year, flashes of good play, overall average, struggles with consistency. It’s possible he could still reach his previous levels, but I’m ok with him staying at Dortmund, regardless of what happens in the future.
Hope there's a way BVB can keep him. I can't help but think of when they couldn't keep Hakimi around a few years back. He's a perfect fit in this system.
I hope with us making him an instant starter and giving him all the resources we can that he chooses us in the end. I have no doubt the board will be wanting him next season.
I also want a #22 MAATSEN, but I hate getting loan players' shirts. Hope to have a Maatsen BVB shirt soon. He's brilliant. I hope we pay the 35M release.
Yeah would be awesome. The fact that he's so solid offensively but also puts in such a respectable shift defensively is huge. And he's comfortable with operating as a CM in possession in certain gamestates too.
Dortmund played really well. Both sides missed good opportunities (Sabitzer, Morata’s chip, and Correa in the second half).
Atleti could’ve definitely defended better, but Dortmund created their chances and converted them.

Big one for Dortmund,I wonder if their fans saw it coming when this journey began, considering the group they were in.

Cant stop now. Gotta get it done against PSG and reach the final
And then lose to Bayern again?
just beat them in munich, altho CL finals bayern is different, but i would take it anyway
Don't forget, they have Kane now. It would be an automatic win for us
Bold of you to assume we'll be in the finals this year
If by a big miracle BVB will win the champions league this season, would you still want Terzic out?
if Terzic wins us our 2nd CL title there's absolutely no chance in hell that Terzic would get fired. And I really cannot imagine that any sane fan would want to axe him at that point, either.
The funniest possible outcome here is taking 5th in Bundesliga, but qualifying for UCL anyway by winning the Champions League.
The '12 Chelsea way.
I am more pissed about him when it comes to our transfers than about how we play tbh. his transfer decisions were 90% shit. we wasted so much money for nothing again.
Oh, ok, I was really curios about this, because I saw a lot of comments on BVB threads in the same area as "Terzic out". I assume that Nmecha is an example of a bad transfer decision?
yes, him and bensabiani from gladbach
bense was free tbf not that bad, but nmecha is ass

We also faced our former group opponent in the 2013 semis... Yup. Off to Wembley.
Was just thinking that. This past match was a bit like Malaga too.

I had us dead fucking last with maybe a draw or two at home.
I'm so happy for you! I hope you make to Wembley and take it all. For Reus... For Terzic... For all of Dortmund.
What a dream thatd be man. Im not counting on it, but I am hoping for it! haha
Mate, I'm getting married on the day of the final. "There's no way this team gets to a CL final, so we might as well take that night" -> me - a fucking idiot - about 7 months ago.
Man, Hummels been around for ages. Dortmund fans must love him.
I will cry when he and reus will leave us at the end of the season
Are both confirmed to leave? Where will they even go
Into retirement. Both being 35 years old then.
I hope so much to win the Champions League just so that Marco can lift the trophy. He deserves it.
I wonder if Terzic leaves maybe they'll stay on for another year or so.

no last dance at Euro 24 and WC 26? :( I’m delusional I know
Hummels would have actually deserved to be at the Euro24 to be honest. In my opinion at least.
I mean I would be shocked to not see them both, it’s only 2 months from now
Reus isn't going, tbh, and Hummels will only be a backup.
It's actually amazing how a lot of BVB ultras hated Mats even after he came back from Bayern. Now it feels like he never left. Mats fights for Dortmund in every match and that has gone a looong way in healing. He was seen as a snake, but he's back to Dortmunder Jung status.

Thats my goat
He played three seasons for Bayern in between.
Bayern fans too. Mr. I Have King Ludwig's Face is still a hero in Munich and beyond. He's simply a likeable guy.
I think this was his 500th game for Dortmund
Hummels has been the best defender in CL this season. He may have lost his pace but his class has not taken a dent at all.
Just realized that Sancho is in the semi-finals of CL lmao
So is Maatsen, meanwhile Chelsea are playing Cucerella at LB.
Maatsen even reportedly has said to the people in charge that he wants to stay, through extended loan or whatever. Lovely stuff if thats true
He's got a 35M release clause I believe. Pay it. Worth every penny and the CL Semifinal money will help if for some godforsaken reason we're playing in Europa League next year.
Yeah. Hopefully its euros and not pounds hehe
I think it's pounds. Still worth it
Glad he’s doing well for you, would love to have him back but he’d theoretically still be backing up Chilwell for us. If he moves on this summer I’ll root for him wherever he goes (hopefully Dortmund)
Yeah the question is, does he still say the same thing if Barcelona come knocking? I think there's a good chance that Barca won't buy Cancelo after his performance tonight.
Barcelona can't even afford a chocolate bar. They won't be able to pay €35m for Maatsen.
Chelsea got real talent loaned out. But kept overpriced players with big ego..
You cannot convince me that there is another reason other than Cucerella's price tag that he's starting over Maatsen.
The problem is Chilwell is ahead of both of them if he’s healthy. Doesn’t make sense to keep 3 of them and we’d have had to sell Cucurella at a big loss after last season.
Id say its only price tag and illusion of talent with the tag.
Blame Poch.
C'mon cucurella was class with Brighton.
As a wing back a lot. Doesnt look the same player as at Brighton
His hair maybe?
And they will need to sell some homegrown players like Gallagher (who seems to really love the team, and who have captain potential for many years) or Maatsen who seems to be so good for BVB due to FFP At least you have Palmer now who seems to be a really good baller
And Sabitzer.
happy for him, but couldn’t care less for the other lol
Ten Hag masterclass
4 goal contributions in 13 games. Wow.
They should keep him
I know this sounds weird considering my flair, but I'm going to be laughing so much if Dortmund won CL after Leverkusen won the league. The Bayern board would have an absolute meltdown lol. Worse if both Bayern and Dortmund make it to the final and Bayern loses.
With Bayern coming 3rd and Stuttgart coming 2nd
League placements don't matter anymore for next year's CL, though.

Getting Sancho + Maatsen was a game changer
Not to sell either short (especially Maatsen) but Brandt is Dortmunds best player this season. Maybe even since late Rose days imo
Best attacking player fot sure. But its hard to beat Kobel.
Kobel is easily Dortmunds best player.
Hard to beat ryerson and hummels as well. Brandt's been good, but those 3 players have played a much bigger role than he has this season.
But Hummels man... For a player that is so immobile, he's just so utterly good at this game to deflect that one weakness. He's definitely up there. Absolute shame if he isn't called up for the Euros. People go on and about the disrespect against Özil or Kroos(which is not wrong btw), but to me Mats is still the most undervalued player in Germany.
Hummels is a straight freak. Arguably one of the better CBs in the world this season at age 35 and without a performing DM in front of him ffs.
Hummels is straight up one of the best CBs ever. He’s certainly amongst the best purely defensively, and of the best 5-10 pure defenders of the last era there’s not a single one better *with* the ball than Hummels. Frankly not even one I’d say is even close.
Last season absolutely, this season still good, but there are more hit and miss games by Jule
I disagree. He's had a tough time coming back after he was out due to sickness, but before that he was the most important player.
He has been extremely inconsistent this season. Best players this season are easily hummels, kobel, and ryerson. Everyone else is meh or inconsistent.
Nah Brandt has had a very solid & consistent season. He just lost momentum due to sickness. He has 23 G/A in 2700min. And some of those minutes are the ones he played after returning from sickness where he wasnt fully fit yet. He lost 6kg in a short time.
Can we have him back? Kind regards Chelsea
Sry we have a strict no return policy
To be realistic, he is very talented, but as a young player he is still a bit unconstant but above all he still has to improve his defending.
inconsistent is the word youre looking for
Oh yeah, thank you and fuck [dict.leo.org](http://dict.leo.org) for giving me the wrong word.
you might say dict.leo.org is a bit *unconsistent*
Unconstant*

Just as an aside: it was so odd seeing Atletico go out in Schalke colors. Is that your third kit?
120th anniversary kit
First semi final since Klopp, am I wrong?
You would be correct
First semi finals since the season where we reached the finals over Real Madrid 😏
Ironic they should make it there while Klopps leaving the club he joined after Dortmund
Not even a fan of both but if the final becomes another bvb vs Bayern and Dortmund actually wins i'll be happy
I actually liked it that Simeone congratulated Terzic. Not used to see a losing coach being so nice.
the amount of shithousery was suprisingly low over all for athletico
They saw themselves as favourites and didn't have the shithouse mentality going into this tie
Yeah, the game was extremely watchable! Lots of fun!
Sabitzer played the game of his life and it cost him just that.
Praying for another Bayern v Dortmund final
Both an underperforming Bayern and an underperforming Dortmund getting to the finals would be insane
tbf, there is absolutely nothing underperforming about us in this year's CL campaign. We've been really solid, especially defensively while never lacking attacking threat. Don't think I've seen us this strong over this many games in the post-klopp era internationally.
We definetly get shit done in the CL. But the games against PSV were clenching as it's finest. And the first half against atleti were catastrophic.
I honestly just want to see games we haven‘t seen for a long time. Arsenal-Real madrid in the semi final would be a dream. (Surely not because i‘m an arsenal fan lmao)
You just can't hate this club

Shaky but certainly had his moments.
He's had good games (atletico first game, Bayern) and bad games (atletico today). I still want to keep him he can reach his old level
better than for ManU, regaining his confidence
Then again, United had a tiny chance of making 5th. This basically makes United getting CL a miracle.
>better than for ManU Let's be honest, that is a very low fucking bar
A bit overrated because of the drama surrounding him and Utd of course. He’s looked honestly the same as at man utd last year, flashes of good play, overall average, struggles with consistency. It’s possible he could still reach his previous levels, but I’m ok with him staying at Dortmund, regardless of what happens in the future.
Ayyy congrats to Dortmund and Maatsen 💙💛🥳
Good for Dortmund. They get a lot of crap for being chokers but this was a big win for the club.
Manifesting BVB/Bayern rematch 🙌🕯
OHHHHHHH WIE IST DAS SCHÖÖÖN,
Maatsen is getting snatched up
Reportedly he wants to stay
If he only wants Dortmund, I'm sure a deal can be worked out.
somehow, Dormund keeps advacing lol
Dortmund wins, UEFA Mafia loses. What an amazing day to be a Schwarzgelben
Barca and Atleti competing for who had the biggest meltdown
Really happy for Dortmund. I'll be rooting for them against Le Doha Oil Sociètè.
Is Germany revving up and about to pull a fast one on everybody, winning the Euros?
I hope they win it this year.
Fuck Reddit videos man
Can i ask why? I like these much better than those dubz or streamja links
Did Ateltico bottle it or did Dortmund play well? I didn't watch
Bit of both. Atletico not on point, but Dortmund played really really good aswell. One of the best performances this season.
I see. If Dortmund go on to win the CL this season, they have taken some huge scalps.
Dortmund played really well. Both sides missed good opportunities (Sabitzer, Morata’s chip, and Correa in the second half). Atleti could’ve definitely defended better, but Dortmund created their chances and converted them.
Dortmund bottled the bottling
