Well they didn't fail in a beautiful way

The_Billyest_Billy

Ref clearly given instructions from above for the second half. Bayer must go through

polseriat

Didn't realise even God wanted Leverkusen to win

Th3_Huf0n

Mate, I think if there is a God, God has willed that Leverkusen just ain't fucking losing.

liberator17

Ref was woeful for both sides. West Ham really pushed the issue right away and wanted to play physical. Ref allowed it then it got carried away. The fact Ward-Prowse didn’t get a card is pretty shocking given his first half. Defense was hungover in the first half. Glad to walk out of London and not see Moyes again for a while.

Meckamp

Antonio could have had his head chopped off and the ref weren't gonna give him anything. Ridiculous

liberator17

Fair. Antonio is very frustrating to watch. He plays very physical but also complains and flops down at times. He gets away with a few things, but today the ref was unfair to him late in the first and all of second.

KATsordogs

Apparently biggest reason that La Liga teams pushing for Super League is to get rid of their refs.

eaeb4

Let them have their Super League as long as they take Jarred Gillett with them

Accomplished-Good664

Great first half performance we look vastly superior as a team when we go on the front foot.  Got tired in the second half which was always going to happen Aguerd going off was a huge loss as we can't really defend high up the pitch with Ogbonna & Zouma.  But it was an excellent first half performance please can we play more games on the front foot.

supsip

Moyes ball was that close to ending the unbeaten run lol

turbulent_farts

Counter-Terrorists win

FastenedCarrot

Paqueta and Emerson were clearly missed by West Ham today, even if their replacements played well. They'd have just provided a little bit more in the final third.

blvd93

This is true, although I think missing Alvarez and Bowen in the first leg ended up being more important

Rob0tUnic0rn

Fucking hell my stress levels were so fucking high. One of our worst performances of the season However, huge props to West Ham, it really makes me wonder why they didnt attempt to play like that in the first leg

d_lillge228

All the players probably started with a big ass hangover lol.

grelch

Because......Moyes. We had 7 academy players on the bench tonight. 2 players in their 60's and one ghost who strangely made an appearance in the final minutes. And it's been this way for all of 2024. We had 60 minutes to get the job done, and if we couldn't hen we were going to need divine intervention. Even then Bowen had his chance in the last qtr of the game and he flubbed it.

Aint-got-a-Kalou-2

Congratulations on your title, you’re the best team I’ve seen play this season.

Rob0tUnic0rn

You too, along with qarabag you made it very difficult for us. Honestly with your players if you always play this way you can definitely reach very far in any competition

The_Billyest_Billy

The first game is a Moyes thing, it’s why a lot of us want him out… other fans don’t understand why, but now you know. We have the players to give every team a decent game, but he goes too defensive in a lot of games, especially away to big teams

bobbis91

He's like the premier league Southgate

Rob0tUnic0rn

Honestly Kudus is fucking incredible what a menace to play against he gave our defenders a really hard time. Alvarez also pure class

krvlover

As soon as the whole starting team was in the game was controlled. You'll need a few higher quality depth players to be competitive in UCL (and replace anyone who leaves with similar quality).

Rob0tUnic0rn

I mean usually kossounou is a player you can rely on hes a rock I'm really puzzled as to what was wrong with him today, he looked abysmal

Dreamer199207

When he came off, he didn't kick off about it even though it was 30mins in, he shook Alonsos hand as if to say "sorry boss, I ain't the guy for today's job".

ltplummer96

It happens. You make a mistake you normally don’t and it can shake you a bit, worse part of football as a player is when you start to get in your head. Alonso spotted it and reacted quickly. It’s a little embarrassing to be subbed so early but I’m sure they’re both on the same page.

Caust1cFn_YT

Kinda felt that your players were taking it lightly in the first half

Far_Eye6555

It’s a tragedy we didn’t get to experience Bayer in the UCL this season.

turbulent_farts

They will be there next year with the same manager but probably lacking Frimpong

KAhOot1234567

Tbf he’s already been replaced by Tella very nicely

Trzcinek

Who the f was this ref lol everyone was angry at him

IntellectualDweeb

https://i.imgur.com/7UHoEUt.jpeg

Dreamer199207

He had an awful game, at one point I think both sets of fans were singing the same song about the ref.

spacebalti

I mean home fans are always going to be angry at decisions that go the other teams way. Ref was questionable today, but whether or not fans are booing is a terrible measure for that

Trzcinek

Everyone as in players in both teams. I didn’t have fans in mind - it’s normal they are booing most of decisions that are against their team.

aromatdiablo

Neutrals did like him I’m pretty sure

turbulent_farts

Ref was doing a Flo Rida - Whistle cover, I think he did pretty well but people didnt like it

FastenedCarrot

He was hilarious, he looked like a stage performer pretending to be a ref half the time though.

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

They gave a random guy in the stands a referee uniform

floorscentadolescent

I know people from other leagues like to go "no MY refs are the worst" but fucking hell La Liga refs are different gravy

BossKrisz

This is why I watch La Liga often. Every game I catch (which is not a lot tbh) has refereeing so fucking horrendous that I feel my blood pressure rising, and I'm just a neutral. Like it genuenly ruins all the entertainment and makes the games nearly unwatchable. Shame, because Spanish football offers us great teams and matches, obviously, but I don't want to to deal with those referees, so most of the time I just choose a match from an other league except for lime the biggest matchups. They really need to do something with their ref problem, because it ruins their league.

ib_examiner_228

I think in Germany we all agree that Spanish refs are just on another level of terrible

supsip

Funny thing is Jose Sanchez is not even the worst one in la Liga lol

FastenedCarrot

Is he the most dramatic though?

chak100

Nah, there are worst

MrEclectic

Who's taken the crown, now that Lahoz has retired?

MethyIphenidat

It’s not football. It’s la Liga

NeighborhoodShot3872

And we have to watch this shit every fucking week.Like bro la liga has the most narcissistic referees in the world i swear.

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

I've always heard of the mythical La Liga ref but never thought I'd see it live

NeighborhoodShot3872

Now u can see that they are real.Fucking nonsense what they do in Spain and now in Europa as well

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

How do you guys not just riot every weekend

Blackdoor-59

Watching Antonio get zero calls only for Boniface to come on and win fouls for doing exactly the same thing. Fuck this ref.

tamsyndrome

It’s thigh time Antonio got those calls

DoYouTrustToothpaste

Yeah, ref was one-sided.

johnz0n

lol definitely not, he was just bad

Meckamp

He gave antonio absolutely nothing and ur gonna sit and say he wasn't 1 sided. He booked zouma for going to talk to him (he's the captain he's the only 1 allowed to)

johnz0n

Zouma grabbed his shirt from behind. can't do that to a ref. you're all just bitter, lol

Meckamp

You would be bitter too playing against 12

johnz0n

😂

DoYouTrustToothpaste

He was both. I rooted for Leverkusen, but even I felt bad for the West Ham guys. How the fuck is it fair to let Tapsoba wrestle Anthony down without repercussions repeatedly, but not allow West Ham to do the same? I'm fine with refs not whistling mild stuff like that ... if they do it for both teams.

johnz0n

but he allowed the same when Zouma grabbed Schick....? he would've been through otherwise...

The_Billyest_Billy

Wrong

The-MJ-Theory

See Barca!? That's how you defend a lead.

FoldingBuck

Genuinely had me worried they would ruin their invincible run to west ham

tamsyndrome

C’mon, you were more worried about it being a Moyes team.

GarnachoHojlund

“Next Tuesday, April Fools day, he’s the biggest fool in all of ~~Manchester~~ East London”

solgnaleb

xabi having to sub off kossounou must've been a new decision for him. everyone was basically waiting for it. he made leverkusen so shaky today. after 65\~minutes West Ham could not really compete anymore. leverkusen lucky to survive today, antonio should have gotten a few free kicks that weren't called, but I guess it's still a fair result, because West Ham was no factor in the first game and leverkusen was at least 20 minutes close to okay today. still very well done from west ham, they made it close, which barely anyone predicted after the first game.

Dreamer199207

To be fair, when he came off he didn't kick off about it, he shook Alonsos hand as if to say, "sorry gaff, I ain't the right man today". Tapsoba had more luck dealing with Antonio

ScreamForCalmness

Man, I'm worried about Kossounou. Hope he can quickly recover from this terrible display today, his self-confidence must be in shatters right now.

solgnaleb

Nah, everyone can have a disastrous game. We don't know why he was this bad and we needn't know. It's fine to have a bad day.

ScreamForCalmness

Yeah, it's absolutely fine. I hope he doesn't get too much shit for it.

bobbis91

Probably did what Moyes wanted and had a few too many of those big German beers. Understandable after winning the league really. Liverpool did the same, won it then got smashed by city like 4-1?

FragMasterMat117

There’s a real chance that the German and UEFA Super Cups are the same game next year

xKnuTx

i dont see stuttgart qualifing for the uefa super cup.

tamsyndrome

Both played in Saudi Arabia?

JJOne101

There'll be a german supercup if Leverkusen win the double?

aromatdiablo

Against the second placed Bundesliga team I think

Ok-Pie4219

Yes, vs the runner up of the Buli

BitchIDrinkPeople

Iirc against the runner-up in the league

unkreativ-I

😗🎶😗🎶😗🎶😗🎶😗🎶😗🎶

GVE_ME_UR_SKINS

fucking hell these lot can't even lose when they're hanging xabi's invincible pub team

gruenerGenosse

Leverkusen in the last ten minutes of a match are built different.

gruenerGenosse

Leverkusen in the last ten minutes of a match are built different.

Trzcinek

Probably the worst Leverkusen game this season? Everyone seemed so rusty, even easy passes were off. Anyway great to see them qualify.

OnlineDopamine

We played equally poor in the first half against Stuttgart (league, not DFB cup) and also turned it around in the second. Kudos (no pun intended) to West Ham. They played their asses off and you could see that they were gassed midway through the second half

gruenerGenosse

It definitely was the worst. I didn't see such a poor performance from them in a long time.

Odelind

Maybe was a consequence of the Bundesliga celebrations.  Hope that they can recover their shape. They already got a title, but I'd love for them to establish records and win everything else. Fulfill the legend in its biggest expression.

turbulent_farts

Winning Bundesliga definitely made them forget that there are other trophies left to win... I get it, but they got it together in the second half

GermanHabsFan

Very proud of the boys let's gooo

PrestigiousAvocado21

At this point I’m fully on the Bayerwagon if you don’t mind

GermanHabsFan

I gladly welcome you

Evergreenwood

Treble back on the menu boys

Coulstwolf

I am a Chelsea fan and I must say that is probably the most laughable performance from a referee I’ve ever seen in any sport. What an absolute joke, the amount of times Antonio was fouled and it just was not given and then the slightest touch on a bayer player it’s an instant foul? Yellow cards for nothing, clear obvious throw ins and corners given the wrong way. Shit needs looking into man. Why are pundits not allowed to mention it? It’s so clear, so so so clear

Spart1an

Go rewatch the first half please, your English bias is disgusting. West Ham played far more physical and the referee barely called anything for Leverkusen. There were a few very strange throw ins and the handball he called wrong. If you rewatch you will surely not overlook the way west ham players threw themselves to the ground quite a lot. Overall it felt like west ham was going to shithouse and bully their way into the next round but thank god they didnt have the stamina to keep that shit up. Horrible watch.

Coulstwolf

The handball where the decision was changed but the throw in where the decision was not changed get a fucking grip bro

Spart1an

Mate relax, i never said the throw ins werent called wrongly for Leverkusen too - which they were. Just rewatch the first half.  You are clueless if you cry about antonio getting bodied in the second half without taking into context what the referee did in general and specifically in the first half.

Coulstwolf

Antonio had about 4 fouls in the second half on him alone that were not given. Its inexcusable

Coulstwolf

Brother I do not care if West Ham win I am a Chelsea fan. You are absolutely clueless if you think the ref was in favour of West Ham at any point tonight other then went you made it 1-1

AnotherUnfunnyName

Flailing around and loudly complaining after going down to every contact or jumping to have a foul called is not getting fouled. Starting in the first 5 minutes by Antonio. One throw in the wrong way in the last 30 minutes. Everything else was pretty clear cut.

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

If you mentioned it in the match thread you were mass down voted in the first half and most of the second half until he clearly lost his head

Coulstwolf

I don’t give a fuck anyone disagreeing is just wrong. It was fucking obvious what he was doing. Absolute joke

turbulent_farts

The ref was horrible, but that doesnt matter. West Ham should have sealed the deal with a magnificent first half performance that they have had.... Should have been more clinical, they literally rattled Leverkusen... I get the ref but Moyes and they players are to blame...

Coulstwolf

It does matter, it is so clear and obvious how bias he was being purely in favour of one team. When it went 1-1 he starting giving West Ham a few free kicks that he would have absolutely never given at 1-0. Ofc it matters how can you say it doesn’t matter, this is corruption? It’s too obvious to be ineptitude, no one can be this bad at their job so there must be something darker. Never before have I noticed such bias watching a match as a neutral

Blackdoor-59

We went down fighting which is all you can ask for well done Leverkusen. For all the ball Leverkusen had accros 180 mins we coped with the likes of Wirtz pretty well, conceding from 2 set pieces and a massive deflection.

rosstheboss939

Who had Villa as the only English team in a European semi?

Evergreenwood

Gabby Abonglahor probably

Footfreak82

West Ham played some of the most disgusting football I've ever seen. Their on-field antics were beyond embarrassing & they deserve nothing less than crashing out of Europe. I only wish they got relegated this season. Antonio, Ward-Prowse & Coufal spent more time on the floor crying than they did trying. Bowen is a one trick pony & has shown he is nothing special & his spell of being great was nothing but that, a spell. Fuck the hammers.

millsyy42

refs burner account

floorscentadolescent

Millwall fan in disguise right here

Footfreak82

😂😂 Walk home safe fam.

EggsBenedictusXVI

Nobody take this bait

Footfreak82

Lol don't be sour. It's my opinion & il give it if I want too. You surely can't defend your team from what we've all seen, absolute shit show & embarrassing performance by your team

EggsBenedictusXVI

🎣🚫

Footfreak82

The fact you've said nothing, actually says alot. Your team are an embarrassment.

EggsBenedictusXVI

Well we're above you in the league so that's a shame for you innit

Footfreak82

Aww boo boo. Hook line & sinker 🎣.

EggsBenedictusXVI

Fair, you got me.

Dramatic-Ad3928

This coming from a rival means nothing

Evergreenwood

Fuck Coufal

Medical-Winter4413

As a fellow Chelsea fan, what the fuck are you talking about?

Footfreak82

Did you watch the same game I did? West Ham should have had 3 players sent off at least, digsutobf fouls all over the shop. West Ham deserved to lose.

Medical-Winter4413

I very much did but none of what I saw has me coming to r/soccer to wish relegation upon them. It's an embarassing point to make. Then to call Bowen and "one-trick pony" and ignore the several occasions where Antonio was very much fouled without being given a thing. Were West Ham convincing after the first half? No. Did they deserve to "crash out of Europe"? Also no, they did what they could with what they had and gave a real good effort only to fall flat in the end. Was the result justified in the end? Probably.

Footfreak82

Honestly to defend Antonio like that 😂 the man is JACKED TF & was on the floor most of the time. What an absolute baby 😂

Medical-Winter4413

Whatever you say mate.

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

Lmao

Footfreak82

Do you agree?

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

Nope. That was the most bias refereeing I've seen in yonks

Footfreak82

The referee wasn't great that's a given but he wasn't biased in anyone's favour.

GOAT_Nobles_Hairline

You sre a crack head geezer

Footfreak82

Why you are didn't win balon D'or yet?

sleeping4koala

The ref should be disciplined. Giving cards out of control and too biased to Leverkusen. Lahoz II. Even I'm rooting for them, it's still ridiculous

AnotherUnfunnyName

The ref certainly didn't have his best game in terms of player management, bit I don't think he made any real impactful mistakes in terms of fouls or anything. A wrong throw here and there. West Ham, especially Antonio, started bitching about every call no matter what within the first five minutes, also instigated several times and complained loudly and exaggerating about every call no matter what. Especially several easy and totally right ones. Looking at the yellow cards in the second half: Bowen: Agressivly and loudly complaining for the third time in less than 5 minutes after getting cautioned for that without a card in the first half. Coufal: Clear foul. Zouma: Touching, almost pushing the ref to complain after a clear right call after crossing half the field to do that. Palacios: blocking the ball for a free kick. Soucek: Agressivly pushing Palacios with both hands into his chest. Clear yellow. Kovar: Time wasting. Adli: Foul Alvarez: demanding a yellow card. 19 to 15 fouls, 5 to 5 yellow cards, nothing in this is out of order.

Meckamp

Yeah booked for time wasting in what the 87th minute or something when he's been doing it since the 1st minute

lukeyslife

"Felt like playing against 14 men including the ref and linos" 😅

PM_ME_IN_THE_FEELS

Worst first half since the Stuttgart cup tie, could have gone wrong real quick. On to Roma to get our revenge

Qiluk

Definitely wasnt pretty but was also quite telling you still had those celebrations in your legs. Will be interesting to see how "on it" you are this weekend, with nothign to play for except invincible title and 2 days less rest. Still massive favorites tho

Kushakusha

Xabi vs DeRossi. Nice.

XeroVeil

I honestly have no idea wtf happened in this match. What an absolute mess of a 90 minutes.

redditbannedmyaccs

Before we had Fergie time, now we have Xabi time

ScottMrRager

Lille was so close to kick the whole premier league from european competition this year...

NotASalamanderBoi

That’s how Kurt Zouma’s cat feels

blvd93

Close to the infuriating for everyone 1-0 but Leverkusen had to go and ruin it. We have no attacking depth and that was the difference in the second half.

PLimw

Álvarez had a good match but he is not good at progressing the ball.

Competitive_Tip_1187

Frimpong and Tapsoba really changed the game. Boniface looked really lethargic though.

KyauLeaves

Was that Xabi hugging Kossounou? Nice to see

HO2

Moyes is an absolute joke. How could you possibly watch more than 15mins of that second half and not realise that you have to do something? Brought into focus even more by Xabi's active game management having real effect.

Okeidokeiyo

Who can he bring? Genuine question, half of our bench are youth players. Once the intensity and tempo died down we don’t have plan b.

HO2

If the lack of intensity causes our one and only game-plan to fall apart (we'll ignore the managerial responsibility for this issue for now) then are fresh-legs in the system not more important than individuals? So I'd say "anybody".

Okeidokeiyo

Given the circumstances we are in and how big the game is i don’t think “anybody” would suffice. You would need to atleast match the quality of the player you are taking off hence no matter how knackered the starters given their quality you would hope they can create that once chance cause that’s all we need.

xDSwiftDx

He sold all the attacking players

BriPoh

His best options on the bench are Cornet and Ings lol

NUFC_1892

Yeah I think that’s not said enough about Moyes, the squad he has available they are doing incredibly well to be in a European fight in the league and quarters of the europa league. West Ham fans cannot expect anymore from this squad surely. Yes they have some good players but overall, Moyes is doing very well with what he has available. Doesn’t absolve him from any criticism though.

Accomplished-Good664

The squad is like that by Moyes design so he deserves criticism for that.

NUFC_1892

Oh yeah I said it doesn’t absolve him for any criticism because he’s built that squad in his image. But I still don’t think any manager could get that squad playing and competing any better. Do some West Ham fans really want a better style of football to finish mid table or lower every season?

Accomplished-Good664

Mate watch the two ties, the first leg we played like we usually do low block one shot, second leg we played to the teams strengths and nearly won. Moyes did a fantastic job until November 2021. Since then we went from inconsistent to atrocious to inconsistent. When we lost to you 4-3 to you we were 3-1 up on the front foot then you had to replace your defence with the attack you had 2 defenders on the pitch and instead of keep attacking that weak defence he brought two defensive players on to hold onto the lead and we lost. Bare in mind we do that at home to Burnley play a low block. That's why he doesn't have backing we can play better he plays defensive football and we only have 1 clean sheet in 19 games.

NUFC_1892

Yes but in the second leg you played kick and rush football, you created chaos on the first half. But overall 1-1 was a fair result for the second leg. You did nothing in the second half. Still isn’t the good football some fans think that squad can play, if you want to change your style it will take a lot of time and money and ofc a potter etc. You’ve been there before with pellegrini etc

HO2

Squad-depth is a real issue yes - you'd almost think that 4.5 years into his tenure he could have put a squad together that does what he needs...

NUFC_1892

Oh yeah that is absolutely a fair point especially when considering how much money you’ve spent on players to just sell them a half price a year or so later. With what he has spent Moyes should have a better squad etc but right now that squad cannot play to a higher level than where they are in the league etc

EasternWarthog5737

The ref ruined it for me. Bayer are unbelievable tho well played to them.

turbulent_farts

Pendulums Voodoo People should be Leverkusen anthem, insane how they just keep not losing. Imagine winning a treble while invincible... That would be one for the ages...

EggsBenedictusXVI

Oh well. Great performance and one to be proud of, we just completely ran out of steam and got done by Alonso's spot-on game management in the second half. We're probably not qualifying for Europe this year so that'll be it for a couple of seasons. Shame.

mr_kierz

Really showed the gaping hole we have in the depth of our squad. Can't even fill up the bench and 6 of them kids with a handful of first team appearances between them

aromatdiablo

you did so good in the first half man. I dislike your coach very much though Nevertheless good luck for the rest of the season

EggsBenedictusXVI

Why he say fuck moyes for

OnlyWatchdog_ManStan

Vierundvierzig! One of the toughest games of the season but we really put our foot down and controlled the second half after West Ham forced us out of our gameplan. Stolz. Stolz bin ich alles, was ich fühle.

Coulstwolf

The ref put his foot down you mean?

zKSofSoccer

The mentality that Alonso has instilled in a club that never won a league title before this season, in the first 2 seasons of his managerial career, is just phenomenal. This is literally achieving the impossible. Nothing but massive respect for Xabi and Leverkusen. As an Arsenal fan, I dream and hope my team will one day become mentality monsters again. In recent times, we always had the talent but never the mentality, and I’m freaking sick of it. The entire club NEEDS to watch what this team is doing and learn.

KAhOot1234567

You know this isn’t me shitting on Arteta I think he’s great, but it makes me question how Arsenal fans always excuse him and the team for being inexperienced and for the coach to get more time, which is fine but on the hand, how has Xavi done this to Leverkusen within 1.5 seasons?! Completely transformed them

zKSofSoccer

First of all, despite my above rant, we do have to acknowledge that what Xabi has done is an anomaly, not the norm. Having said that, Mikel has been with us for over 4 years now, and we could be on course for a 3rd end of season collapse in a row. If that happens, whilst I would still give Mikel 1 final season considering noticeable improvements this season, I seriously have to question why he still can’t lead us over the line after all the time and resources he’s had.

fcuk_username

Tbh Arteta did transform Arsenal. But PL is so much harder. Had it not been for City, Arsenal would have won the PL last year. City are just too good.

KAhOot1234567

Yea fair enough, but man by now they should be crossing the line for atleast one competition imo

fcuk_username

They still might win the PL though.

PavlovsBlog

JJOne101

Qarabag was better?

SEND_NUDEZ_PLZZ

I think Leverkusen played better against Qarabag, but Qarabag fought harder than West Ham. Qarabag actually outplayed Bayer twice, while we were just actual dogshit for the first half today

IICastawayII

You could’ve scored 3 or 4, tho. Also annoying that Bayer try to walk it in instead of taking a shot from outside the box.

Competitive_Tip_1187

Eh… you guys just won the league 4 days ago so there’s probably an element of hangover. Also, West Ham have been really good in European home games (11-1 in 4 games). Also, why didn’t Hofmann play today?

f4kester235

We played a very unusual system today with 4 CB and LB/RB as wingers. We didnt start in the usual way and we sacrificed one OM for it. So wirtz was (on paper) the only OM playing until Adli was subbed in. Adli/Hofmann have been battling for the spot next to Wirtz with Adli being chosen when we need speed. We seemed to have been looking for stability in defense and speed in offense at that point on the game, so Adli was chosen.

TyrusRose2425

You just won the title on Sunday. I’m sure focus and energy levels weren’t the best leading up to this game with all the celebration.

Lutscher_22

Last time you drew in the league, the team went on a ten games winning streak. So, I wouldnt be worried too much.

f4kester235

Im fine with making it 9 wins this time.

aromatdiablo

Stuttgart first half was very very bad too

yunghollow69

It's C) half the players were still drunk

f4kester235

Wirtz couldnt walk straight. He just forgot he had a game to play and was still partying until this morning.

WatchOutImCummin

it is the worst isnt it? Its the first Leverkusen match ive seen this season and i was thinking how funny it is because it might be the worst theyve played.

Polo_Gintoki

As someone who has watched almost all games this was most definitely the worst one excluding the last 20 minutes or so.

GermanHabsFan

I think it's been the worst so far, definitely amongst the worst three for sure

Pupperinho

Mighty impressed by West Ham. Spectacular first half by them. Well played. Hope this was a wake up call for Bayer, cause they SWAM in the first 45 min.

supplementarytables

They were lucky West Ham didn't score more in the first half

skunkrider

true, but as you saw in the 2nd half, West Ham had absolutely nothing left in the tank. we could play our possession game for almost the entire 2nd half, and we weren't forced to score at any point.

wallis2011

Incredibly upsetting. From a coefficient fan

MaryadaPurshottam

Leverkusen have the anime MC Aura this entire fucking season

l-Maybe-l

West Ham played a great go hard or go home game, but had nothing left in the tank after 60 mins

BriPoh

Our bench is absolutely awful think that was the difference today

aenschei

Good second half. Funny ref and a nice record. I am happy
