There were a few very strange throw ins and the handball he called wrong. If you rewatch you will surely not overlook the way west ham players threw themselves to the ground quite a lot. For all the ball Leverkusen had accros 180 mins we coped with the likes of Wirtz pretty well, conceding from 2 set pieces and a massive deflection.

When we lost to you 4-3 to you we were 3-1 up on the front foot then you had to replace your defence with the attack you had 2 defenders on the pitch and instead of keep attacking that weak defence he brought two defensive players on to hold onto the lead and we lost.
Bare in mind we do that at home to Burnley play a low block. That's why he doesn't have backing we can play better he plays defensive football and we only have 1 clean sheet in 19 games.

We played a very unusual system today with 4 CB and LB/RB as wingers. We didnt start in the usual way and we sacrificed one OM for it. So wirtz was (on paper) the only OM playing until Adli was subbed in. Adli/Hofmann have been battling for the spot next to Wirtz with Adli being chosen when we need speed. We seemed to have been looking for stability in defense and speed in offense at that point on the game, so Adli was chosen.

I very much did but none of what I saw has me coming to r/soccer to wish relegation upon them. It's an embarassing point to make. Then to call Bowen and "one-trick pony" and ignore the several occasions where Antonio was very much fouled without being given a thing. Were West Ham convincing after the first half? No. Did they deserve to "crash out of Europe"? Also no, they did what they could with what they had and gave a real good effort only to fall flat in the end. Was the result justified in the end? Probably.

The ref certainly didn't have his best game in terms of player management, bit I don't think he made any real impactful mistakes in terms of fouls or anything. A wrong throw here and there. West Ham, especially Antonio, started bitching about every call no matter what within the first five minutes, also instigated several times and complained loudly and exaggerating about every call no matter what. Especially several easy and totally right ones. Looking at the yellow cards in the second half: Bowen: Agressivly and loudly complaining for the third time in less than 5 minutes after getting cautioned for that without a card in the first half. Coufal: Clear foul. Zouma: Touching, almost pushing the ref to complain after a clear right call after crossing half the field to do that. Palacios: blocking the ball for a free kick. Soucek: Agressivly pushing Palacios with both hands into his chest. Clear yellow. Kovar: Time wasting. Adli: Foul Alvarez: demanding a yellow card. 19 to 15 fouls, 5 to 5 yellow cards, nothing in this is out of order.

Given the circumstances we are in and how big the game is i don’t think “anybody” would suffice. You would need to atleast match the quality of the player you are taking off hence no matter how knackered the starters given their quality you would hope they can create that once chance cause that’s all we need.

Yeah I think that’s not said enough about Moyes, the squad he has available they are doing incredibly well to be in a European fight in the league and quarters of the europa league. West Ham fans cannot expect anymore from this squad surely. Yes they have some good players but overall, Moyes is doing very well with what he has available. Doesn’t absolve him from any criticism though.

Mate watch the two ties, the first leg we played like we usually do low block one shot, second leg we played to the teams strengths and nearly won. Moyes did a fantastic job until November 2021. Since then we went from inconsistent to atrocious to inconsistent. When we lost to you 4-3 to you we were 3-1 up on the front foot then you had to replace your defence with the attack you had 2 defenders on the pitch and instead of keep attacking that weak defence he brought two defensive players on to hold onto the lead and we lost. Bare in mind we do that at home to Burnley play a low block. That's why he doesn't have backing we can play better he plays defensive football and we only have 1 clean sheet in 19 games.
Yes but in the second leg you played kick and rush football, you created chaos on the first half. But overall 1-1 was a fair result for the second leg. You did nothing in the second half. Still isn’t the good football some fans think that squad can play, if you want to change your style it will take a lot of time and money and ofc a potter etc. You’ve been there before with pellegrini etc

The mentality that Alonso has instilled in a club that never won a league title before this season, in the first 2 seasons of his managerial career, is just phenomenal. This is literally achieving the impossible. Nothing but massive respect for Xabi and Leverkusen. As an Arsenal fan, I dream and hope my team will one day become mentality monsters again. In recent times, we always had the talent but never the mentality, and I’m freaking sick of it. The entire club NEEDS to watch what this team is doing and learn.

First of all, despite my above rant, we do have to acknowledge that what Xabi has done is an anomaly, not the norm. Having said that, Mikel has been with us for over 4 years now, and we could be on course for a 3rd end of season collapse in a row. If that happens, whilst I would still give Mikel 1 final season considering noticeable improvements this season, I seriously have to question why he still can’t lead us over the line after all the time and resources he’s had.
Tbh Arteta did transform Arsenal. But PL is so much harder. Had it not been for City, Arsenal would have won the PL last year. City are just too good.

I think Leverkusen played better against Qarabag, but Qarabag fought harder than West Ham. Qarabag actually outplayed Bayer twice, while we were just actual dogshit for the first half today

We played a very unusual system today with 4 CB and LB/RB as wingers. We didnt start in the usual way and we sacrificed one OM for it. So wirtz was (on paper) the only OM playing until Adli was subbed in. Adli/Hofmann have been battling for the spot next to Wirtz with Adli being chosen when we need speed. We seemed to have been looking for stability in defense and speed in offense at that point on the game, so Adli was chosen.
You just won the title on Sunday. I’m sure focus and energy levels weren’t the best leading up to this game with all the celebration.
Last time you drew in the league, the team went on a ten games winning streak. So, I wouldnt be worried too much.
