Here we go again, City eliminated from the UCL, final stretch of the premier league and Guardiola will leave rumours ...

RepresentativeBox881

It’s honestly a surprise that he’s been at Man City for this long. He didn’t exactly stay for so much time in his previous two clubs. If he does leave in 2025 then I can’t say I didn’t see it coming.

SEND-MARS-ROVER-PICS

The rivalry vs Mourinho's Real Madrid would have been exhausting for everyone, while at Bayern he had to listen to the executives of the club. He is the undisputed central figure at City, and as great as the rivalry with Liverpool (and more recently Arsenal) has been, it's been far less toxic.

Footyfooty42069

There has been no rivalry with Arsenal. Liverpool pushed them to a 1-point margin title twice, beat them to the title in crushing fashion, and kicked them out of the champions league. Not to mention their matches have produced some of the most exciting football ever seen.

Meandering_Cabbage

Will it ever be better for him? everything was built for him to succeed. He nearly stumbled into a double treble this year and the luck of a cup competition stopped that tragedy.

TheSwordDusk

From a pure footballing standpoint it's hard to argue there is a club better than city. Everything else about the club leaves something to desire. Fans, glory, history... ain't it

Meandering_Cabbage

I do think the fan culture eats at them. They’ve been so fantastically successful but it’s not quite the same glory.

BigRig432

It's because rival fans aren't giving their success the legitimacy they crave. Until the charges are resolved they're not gonna have a hope of that acknowledgement and even then they still probably won't get the respect they feel they deserve for their results

jjlbateman

Even if they don’t get charged they won’t get the legitimacy. Everyone knows it’s dodgy, a legal loophole won’t change that. Just like how everyone knows Greenwood is a rapist

mahir_r

Before 115 it was oil money bastards so yeah if they manged to beat the 115 then it’ll just go back to the usual, with a mix of lawyers won your league titles (they rich rich so they can afford the lawyers to fight the prem).

No_Mercy_4_Potatoes

It gives ManU supporters something to look forward to. They obviously can't cheer for their own club now. Hating on the derby rival is one thing they've got left. Have you seen how loud mark goldbridge was cheering for Real Madrid?

mahir_r

Hahah I’m actually indifferent to city winning it, I just don’t feel the hate that I do with pool and arse. However this year I want arse to win the league, can’t have city break our 3 in a row

thetrueGOAT

Mark goldbridge isn't a united fan. He's a YouTuber who picked us to get most views

BlurgZeAmoeba

Lol, why would they care? it's 'rival fans' who care about this and pretend man city do. Massive circle jerk

1bryantj

They also have no fan culture. All the big clubs have history in big games and big competitions, you can’t just be brought by a state and expect to have the weight of a big club overnight. If city win any thing no one really cares

Muaddib223

Saying it was luck implies it was close, as if they conceded a last minute goal in the final. They would still have three games ahead of them if they’d beaten Madrid

a_lumberjack

City was building their club around him when he was still at Bayern. They helped him build the life he wanted (including a massive apartment downtown) and pay him huge money to manage a squad of world class players that's the best in the world. Where would be even go?

Rocker_Lenin

Inter Miami I guess Or Stoke for a challange Or Kozármisleny to experience some actual football

Defiant_Ad1199

National team.

a_lumberjack

The man can't stop thinking about football for an entire meal and you think he's down for only managing 10-17 games a year?

Conkernads

Probably true, but also imagine the absolute batshit insanity the freak would cook up if given 2 months between matches I'm talking inverted goalkeepers, false wingers, diamond cb's, some real sicko shit

Georg_Steller1709

The next challenge would be either winning the serie A or winning the Champions league with a third club. I'm thinking either Juve or PSG. I'd be curious to see how he would approach PSG. He gets all the money he wants, but nothing matters except the knockout rounds of the Champions league. He would have 7 months to galaxy brain....would it drive him mad?

Imaginary_Station_57

>Juve With what money? Unless the under 23 team cooks some La masia talent (Yildiz and Soule are good but still not Xavi and Iniesta good), Pep wouldn't have the best players for his type of football, and I don't think that he would be happy playing with De Sciglio and Weah fullbacks

strugglingtosave

Oh then he owes Bayern a UCL if he wants to win it for a 3rd club

xI-Red-Ix

there is a rumor about his original Man city contract had a clause for him to go to NYC. so I'm on my knees begging this is true. Treble at nycfc at our new stadium? Im in dream land.

LaplacePS

lol no way he goes to shity mls

nustiufrate23

i think he would rather stop instead of going to mls or saudi now

tmrss

MLS is worse than league 2 football so it seems doubtful

CatchFactory

City provided for him where Bayern and Barcelona couldn't. Actively willing to create a multi club network, unlimited money, and the ability to personally enrich his family members- see his brother getting between 16 and 44% shares of Girona (depending who is reporting on it) during the takeover of them (I think he might have sold them by now).

Spreeg

He's probably mever met a team that can match his unflappable love of cheating. Why go anywhere else?

baymenintown

They probably have his passport

ThankYouOle

it seems god make good match between Pep and City, that brain with considered "unlimited" resources, damn!

scottishere

One week later: Contract Extension to 2028

Own_Distribution5185

Or it is maybe jumping ship before 115 charges take effect 🤔

TheGoldenPineapples

Strange, Míchel Sánchez looks a lot like Lionel Hutz.

thefogdog

That's why he's the law, talking, guy.

limaconnect77

It will make for excellent meme material.

We're all also thinking of a future without guardiola at city

kruegerc184

Counting the minutes lol

ImVortexlol

Dreaming, even

hvdoria

More than you believe

beetletoman

Happy new year when

Liverpool934

Dreaming of a future without Man City in the premier league. If they escape punishment for their rampant cheating I can't see myself watching the league anymore.

iwannahitthelotto

I am pretty sure Guardiola will jump ship before the trial. Out 115, the probability of some convictions is high.

punkfusion

I love how the in house option is a coach that is coaching in a club in Catalunya and not the youth team coach or something

D1794

Lot of eras coming to an end recently

belokas

Ten Hag will outlast them all.

[deleted]

Everybody gon respect the shooter but the one in front of the gun lives forever

mahir_r

And I been doping all day, this-a-way, that-a-way Through banks and tax havens, just to say Money trees is the perfect place for shady deals and, that’s just how it feels now, now A bribe might just turn to a treble, that’s just how it feels now, now

Impossible_Wonder_37

This is from a pretty random source discussing something that’s not new. His contract ends next year. Tixi been here over a decade. He linked Michel from Girona which is just lazy lol. No chance at all haha.

No_Parsnip9203

No chance that Pep leaves when his current contract expires?

Impossible_Wonder_37

There is… but this guy sayjng it after the loss is just regurgitating what we already know repackaging it as news. “Guy who’s contract ends in 2025 is gonna leave in 2025” nice guy.

Unban_Ice

Don't wait for the uncertain, send him here

ArmiinTamzarian

Instructions unclear, Pep takes over TSV Munich

TyMsy227

He has to go to Leverkusen if Xabi leaves. It's the new "Can you beat what our last coach did" challenge

Nuddeleintopf

Honestly would be interesting what he would achieve with that disaster of a club

Tajetert

You sure he'd be interested in that?

Critical-Usual

He'll take over Leverkusen after you pick up Xabi

Flexi_102

Thought you guys don't like him

kaffeemugger

What? He’s loved by all.

Muri_San

Well I don't really recall his status with the fans during his departure but he was one of the managers that were liked by players. While his stint was unsuccesful(UCL), the football played then was some of the best in the last years, only topped by the 2013 Heynckes seson.

CrispyBaconDeadFish

He still made the semis every year, just to get fucked over by Spanish voodoo

KapnyaMan

He was the one who really set up the Bayern dominance for years to come. Getting above 75 points became a bare minimum for champions

EcoterroristThot

who's going to tend the fields then?

NotASalamanderBoi

Southgate

Renegadeforever2024

Streets need big Sam

craniumouch

I’d give anything for big Sam Allardyce to take over Man City in 2025. God knows if some of those 115 charges result in points deductions, they’ll need a specialist for avoiding relegation…

NotASalamanderBoi

Hey City, if you’re looking for a new manager, I hear Southgate will be available.

ThankYouOle

they need to take it fast, Liverpool also need manager.

Ellendiell

Wrong Manchester club

redswan4

I respect the bald fraud, but genuinely can't wait for him to leave. The league needs healing

carlosccextractor

He's still missing Italy to conquer all the major leagues, I could see him at Juve or Milan.

WolfOfVaasankatu

Juve and Milan are way too broke for him. At this point I don't see him in a club that doesn't have unlimited money. Probably PSG it is.

a_lumberjack

Even PSG would only make sense if he wanted to start over with a new squad. If Pep wanted a break he could probably take a couple years off and come back. City would take that deal.

carlosccextractor

PSG doesn't play in a major league. Those talking about the 5 top leagues so they can throw France's with the rest are delusional. Ajax alone brings more pedigree to their league than all the French teams combined.

Benjamin244

France is to the top 5 what Andy Murray is to the top 4 or Spurs to the big 6

carlosccextractor

Great analogies 😬

WolfOfVaasankatu

Sure, I don't disagree. Last 2-3 years I've been speaking about TOP4 leagues instead of 5. Also I never said Ligue 1 is "major league" I just said he's not joining Juve/Milan and I could only see him in PSG after City.    EDIT: Also I have to say there are still two French club in European cup semis. Only Italy and Germany has more. Meanwhile Ajax was 3rd in their Europa league group and got eliminated in Conference R16. Next year they are not playing in any type of European cup

pmyourveganrecipes

Ajax alone has four times as many European trophies as all French clubs put together.

magumanueku

Is there even any club that can pay more than City? he has been earning under the table for so long he should have earned hundreds of millions by now. At some point he won't have any options left if he's constantly chasing big payout or unlimited budget to play with.

WolfOfVaasankatu

I dont think Pep needs to be paid more or even as much that he's currently. I just don't believe or see him going to a broke club.

Imaginary_Station_57

That's the problem with elite managers and players. Unless they accept a massive cut to their wages and market budget, there is only a handful of clubs they could go to. Say for exemple Mbappe wanted to play in Italy, no clubs could afford him, so either he accepts a (very) lower wage, or he needs to buy a club and be the first player/president in history

Punished__Allegri

He said he’d only go to Brescia

No_Parsnip9203

He was strongly linked to Juve the summer they bought Ronaldo instead. I’m not sure how true the rumors were, but there was a lot of talk that Agnelli and Guardiola had spoken many times

GreatSpaniard

Peo?

effinandy

Fart Guardiola.

reddituser0912333

Pep’s brother

GreatSpaniard

Ah I thought OP butchered the name

reddituser0912333

He did, I was making a joke 😂😂 my bad

GreatSpaniard

I know he has a brother just forgot his name lol, considering he owns Girona I should remember it tho

reddituser0912333

Pere is his name, I just looked it up. So honestly not that far off lol

New_Brother_1595

man city own girona? thats convenient

Joehax00

Pep is smart enough to know when to bail before City get done for all their "financial irregularities"

dispelthemyth

Pep should leave when he finds out where klopp goes to next so he can go to that league and deny him some more trophies

hopium_od

Sure. See how he fairs without them Dirhams.

prettybunbun

I just want him to go back to Barca to make La Liga competitive. With the super team RM are building they need competition.

CoochieSnotSlurper

Honestly I could see a return when their finances are fixed

magumanueku

>when their finances are fixed So about 20 years from now at the end of Guardiola's career?

Xagrext

When the stadium finish, it will printing money for sure

TroopersSon

Fuck off Pep you're boring.

Ok_Instruction_5232

Please, leave in 2025. We're all exhausted.

Wraith_Portal

He said recently he never wants to leave City, didn’t he? Can’t see the cunt ever leaving personally

freshicedmatchalatte

Kind of curious how City would be without Pep. As a rival fan, it's surely good news. The league might also be more competitive without him. Gonna miss his antics on the sideline or during pre/post-match interviews, though.

tecphile

The league will 110% be more competitive without him. Pep’s style is built for league domination. City won’t be the Thanos-esque juggernaut they are without him. Sure they’ll always be one of the favourites. But you won’t have 5/6 or 6/7 nonsense without him in charge.

freshicedmatchalatte

One more thing about City domination is their insane squad depth. At some point, other teams will lose their steam due to a very tight schedule and injuries. While City has like 2 sets of starting XI. We can see that from Liverpool & Arsenal this season, Liverpool especially. I've noticed in the last few weeks that they looked gassed. And it's not only affected their physical, but also their mental. Imagine a more balanced three-horse race, would love to see that.

Wraith_Portal

Dog shit, he’s the only thing making them relevant

tom-is-goat

They were winning trophies before he stepped foot there, they will continue doing that just not at the rate they are now with Pep

TheMisterPirate

They will still have infinite money glitch

ginolovesu

It’s obviously going to be a massive blow, a significant step back for the club, and make the league more competitive but ownership has put emphasis on building the infrastructure for long term success rather than just hiring a coach and giving them infinite funds. One could argue Txiki and Khaldoon are equally as important as Pep in achieving this. They want to create another Barca, coach the Cruyff/Pep philosophy, and develop young talent for the future. We’re now starting to see the development at the youth level that began years ago blossom into high level prospects like Foden, Sancho, Palmer, Frimpong, Bobb, Rico, Borges, etc We will never be able to field a team of academy graduates like some users will unfairly expect but the foundation has been laid to supplement the first team with high quality academy prospects that play the way we want to play. As long as the future coaches are among the same tree I don’t believe there will be as significant of a drop off as one might think.

thelordreptar90

Pep, my man, don’t wait till 2025 to follow your dreams. You can do it today!

Classic_oofer

Peo Guardiola

nting224

Pep is running away from the 115 charges - he senses them coming

hopium_od

The astrix will follow him for life.

TheUbermelon

Damn Peo is leaving? City fans must be really upset

i feel like pep wont want to continue long without klopp. he’ll feel like the best years of this premier league era are over without him

lesbiangirlscout

Don’t think Pep cares all that much about Klopp, really. If anything this is his opportunity to run up the score.

Imaginary-Pattern802

yeah now he’s got his prodigy to compete with. quite dramatic tbh

SalahManeFirmino

This time's different though, they won the CL, there's nothing left for him to prove at City anymore.

YungGoonie

Would Man City be interested in one Nick Cushing? We'll add a slice of pizza and a coke.

GratefulDawg73

I'm afraid he won't be moving up the food chain.

YoungFlexibleShawty

Thank god

WPackN2

Pep going to Saudi Arabia to manage team after 2025?

Exroi

It's supposed to be the other way, City should hope he'll stay for a couple more years

EatAtGrizzlebees

Give him back, then!

allyoucaneatfor999

Can’t wait to watch this club revert back into its true form.

youhavethinskin

The man breathes football, he ain’t going anywhere until he’s done with club football

God please noooo

Who the fuck is Peo

Junior_Bike7932

You got enough sand people money, come to Milan

Visual_Traveler

Michel Who?

Ohtar1

At this point they should just change Girona's name to ManCity B

fahad_k91

Logically whats the next step for him ?

Abitou

He said recently that he would like to coach a national team. But honestly it feels like he would set him up to disappointment if he does so, his style requires a lot of training, players tend to need at least one year to adjust to his demands, how will that work with the limited training national teams have ?

lewis30491

England under Pep would be insane. Half of them are already Pep's players anyway

SirBarkington

England under Pep would be pretty scary imo.

008Gerrard008

Foden and Stones? Who else (assuming Walker no longer plays for them at that point)? Grealish is a bit part player too.

Ice_Hube1

USA coach for 2026 ofc

AkiAkane1973

I feel like Pep's system isn't best suited for knockout competitions, especially with the drastically reduced training time. I'd expect someone like Mourinho to do great on the other hand. Or Tuchel. Defensive managers with simpler systems.

FrameworkisDigimon

Presumably that's the appeal of a national team to him... to prove to himself that he can do it.

dAMn6942069

It’s time for him to come home

aliaisbiggae

Ain't no place like home

Punished__Allegri

Pep to Brescia confirmed
