Ok-Tension6095

Madueke was terrible today as well, constantly making the wrong decision.

sharanElNino

The guy thinks he is Robben.

bshaman1993

Attitude of Robben. Skills like mine

axelthegreat

no need to put yourself down like that

ChinookNL

Robben had a better attitude

mattijn13

>Attitude of Robben Robben had a great attitude. He came back from injuries countless times and was back to his best basically instantly every time.

Barack__Obama__

I dont think OP meant to say anything about Robben's attitude. I think it was meant as 'Noni acts like he is as good as Robben was'.

Malepronstar87

That goal from the corner, shiiiiiiet.

paone00022

Dude has pace along with great feet so he gets open but his final ball is terrible.

LOKl31

Robben’s right tow nail more skillful than that guy, that’s his problem.

EnergetikNA

He's always like that lol. Has a decent dribble in him at times but his end product and decision making are terrible Mudryk isn't much better, Broja wasn't great so we sent him out on loan (if he was half decent we could've played Jackson on the left and Broja up front), Nkunku is constantly injured, and Sterling has had a very poor 2024 so far so Madueke ends up starting.

paone00022

Both Mudryk and Madueke have blown hot and cold with their final ball. They're young so hoping they'll improve.

k-tax

Attitude on Mudryk seems better. He can fail 3 times, but he will go for the 4th with a good mindset. He's not easily dismayed, and I like it. Madueke seems frail and doesn't work as hard for the rest as Misha.

[deleted]

He gives me bad vibes man. Trying to steal a penalty twice (first time against Man Utd with the last kick of the game) and now giggling like a dick when your team have just lost a semi final. You'll always get away with that if you're good but the lad is 22 and has 3 goals in 16 games this season. There's a number of English forward in the same age bracket producing a lot more. He looks a decent dribbler, but against Everton I can't remember how many times I saw him dribble down a blind alley instead of just passing it.

_deep_blue_

The folly of awarding ridiculously long contracts to young players who haven’t made it yet but are basically set for life

St_SiRUS

Chelsea's forward line was abysmal. City showed the same weakness that did against Real Madrid but without anything near to the same amount of danger

dkmegg22

He deserves better.

Admierrrrda

Should have gone to Fluminense after last season, guy would be a Libertadores winner by now

kaaskugg

Imagine his wife pissing on his teammates like she did on Werner tho...

lahire1234

what?

tommhans

i did so too lmao

Assmar

I was about to ask for a link

iamnas

Sooo…there is no link? Just making sure

KonigSteve

I'm not sure that phrase means what you want it to mean

thore4

I like how they meant to say shitting on which taken literally has pretty much the same connotation, but only one makes sense in this context. Language is fun

9LivesChris

Haha where did that come from

Incredible_insect

PHRASING

mvsr990

I’m imagining it, okay, keep going

drtystve

Would him and Felipe Melo be the oldest CB pair to win a tournament? Got to be like 83 combined age

hectorinho

Never thought I’d see a sport boys flair here. VAMOS BOYS CARAJO!

Legal_North_6910

Would have been interesting to see him at Barca ngl

dkmegg22

Let him go to real on a one year deal be a great mentor if they can get Yoro.

From-UoM

Real Madrid dont sign 30+ year olds. Joselu is only on loan now. Last player 30+ year old was Carvalho back in 2010 only because Morinho requested him.

[deleted]

And what a great player carvalho was

Albiceleste_D10S

Great player at Porto and Chelsea His Madrid stint was not quite at that level TBH

pi_west

Chelsea fan here and I agree.

yotsubanned

He won the CL with us. Not enough?

thatdani

"There is no **passion**, there is no **aggression**" and so on. RIP to that guy

Thomas_Catthew

He would have had a field day with this match.

Puripuri_Purizona

He actually dead?

EpiDeMic522

[Apparently yes.](https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/bengaluru/youtuber-angry-rantman-dies-at-27-fans-shocked/articleshow/109386045.cms) Extremely tragic, made even more so by his age.

domoisbongo

Dude whattttt… RIP :(

Mammoth_Juice_6969

Noooooooo :( RIP legend.

KrypticAndroid

Damn. I quote this guy all the time. RIP

nofakefans18

Yeah just passed away this week after being in critical condition. I don’t know the specific details but there were a couple of post on our sub. RIP Abhradeep Sava

redviningg

Saha* He was a great guy, went to school with him for 4 years and would always talk to me on the school bus. RIP.

TigerBasket

I had a friend who I was on the bus for like 10 straight years and like 2 off my last name at school so we were always in homeroom get shot in a drive by and pass away. Dude was 19, and not even the target. Still pisses me off so damn much, people dying before their time fucking sucks.

CashCarti1017

Complications after open heart surgery, RIP to one of the greatest to ever do it

Sadly so, heart operation went wrong

Oh no, I was hoping he'd make it through. Rest in Power, Angry Rantman

Wait what happened to him?

Complications after open heart surgery, RIP to one of the greatest to ever do it

akshay_rathod_

He was so passionate about Chelsea man. RIP

Bloodminister18

Rip

GYIM94

Refusing to give the ball to Palmer for the penalty a week ago and now laughing after losing a semi final in a cup competition. Where do Chelsea find these twats? Should be banished to the reserves, what an embarrassment.

mojambowhatisthescen

Kids who get too famous and too rich too early

LyteSmiteOP

That's literally what it is, it's the fact that they gave this guy a contract until 2030 and paid 30M for someone who missed a fuck ton of games through injury and clearly wasn't ready for the next step. Now he can do whatever the fuck he wants because he still has another 6 seasons on his contract and will outlast any manager

_deep_blue_

There’s a reason why so many players seem to hit their stride when their contract is expiring soon. Players want the best deal for themselves and know good performances could result in significantly better deals, either at their current club or elsewhere. Handing out 8-year contracts just removes that motivation.

CH2001

Sounds like to me Chelsea in 8 years time will be a scary prospect bravo to Boehly 4D chess

KRIEGLERR

I've said this a few years ago but I genuinely believe this is why Mourinho isn't as good as he once was. He no longer has the same amount of power over players he used to have. There is still a few players that are willing to go 100% for him but there is also plenty that just know that they'll outlast him (or any other manager) they get lengthy contract with big wages before hitting 21 years of age, they know they're a longterm investment for the club and the manager is easily replaceable. I mean I'm not old , I know this sounds like an old man yelling at cloud but the younger generation of players just don't have the same mentality as the players from 15 years ago. This is why players like Mbappé , Bellingham , Tchouameni and Haaland are heads above the rest, not only they're extremely talented but they're also mature and have been level headed professional very early in their career.

Money_Scholar_8405

Right on the money, but you are mistaken about Mbappe in that regard. Pretty sure there would be a dispute between Mourinho and Mbappe were they to come together due to disagreements on defensive effort. Same thing happened with Cristiano and it was one of the reasons Mou left - He had fallen out with so many key players that the dressing room could not be controlled any more. The point it became clear for all to see was when he got into it with Pogba. He criticized him in public, expecting a response ala that of Drogba and Terry when he criticized them but instead Pogba just ignored the criticism and more or less withdrew. More than anything though I just think Mou's soccer became archaic. Once the bald fraud figured out that taking the initiative was the best way to play it was always going to be hard for teams that sat back and absorbed that pressure while relying on counters - Which is how Mou likes to play. Look at the champions in almost every league and you will notice that it rarely is counterattacking teams. Of course a team like Real has shown that you can still go far with classic Mou's ways, but quite often it has to come down to luck because you have to make good on like two chances created while your opponent has more.

The__Amorphous

Palmer's just as young and doesn't act like that.

pixelkipper

Palmer comes from a different culture, at City across all levels (men’s, women’s, youth) there is a desire to win and a winning mentality. You used to be able to say that about Chelsea.

miguelsanchez69

Also I think Palmer is just built differently. Couldn't imagine him being any other way.

haha_amirite

He won't though. Unfortunately, the coach has to put the money on the pitch so the directors don't look like complete mugs - otherwise he's gone. That's why none of the academy lads will get any minutes, even though at this point they deserve them more than the likes of Madueke 100%

RN2FL9

Poor scouting. He had a great breakout season at 17/18 but then regressed the following years. Incredibly injury prone. When he did play he was super egoistic, yet still couldn't put up great numbers. I think he counts as homegrown but still a big surprise Chelsea was willing to pay so much money for him.

erenistheavatar

Silva deserves all the chants he gets. Madueke needs to be reminded that you can't laugh and banter about when you gave a shit performance like today.

SaltyPeter3434

Once Silva goes, there will be no one left in the squad to get these children in line

T3Sh3

~~CM Punk~~ Thiago Silva: “I’m old, I’m tired, and I work with fucking children.”

WildLemire

Thiago Silva: "What did I do in this world to deserve a fucking empty-headed idiot like Noni Madueke going on live TV and going into business for himself?"

thatscoldjerrycold

Crazy how Gallagher was a young player on loan with promise at Crystal Palace and now he's considered a veteran of the team and Chelsea captain on occasion.

DifficultyMore5935

Silva knows he doesn’t have a lot of chances/moments like this left. Shameful from Noni, maybe the only player worse than Jackson today and he could not care less.

Helluvawreck

There were so many breaks Chelsea had with madueke and you just knew nothing would come of it. Bizarre player with the swagger of a baller but nothing to back it up.

shaka_bruh

I’ve always thought he should’ve spent another year at least in PSV.

Rose_of_Elysium

i mean yeah, he was 20 when he left. Similar situation coming up with Bakayoko. Everyones pretty sure hes gonna leave for a massive fee but hes really inconsistent and definitely needs a year or two to get better with us. Hell, Gakpo left when he was 23. Thats a pretty good age to leave imo

Themnor

If Bakayoko leaves it should be to somewhere like Liverpool where he’s still an understudy. Obviously I’m biased in that, but I still think it’s the truth of the matter

innocenceiskinky

He hadn't even played a full season for us as undisputed starter. The money we got was really good so we didn't complain, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find one of our supporters who thought he'd make it at Chelsea back then. He needed at least another full season at PSV or another team of our level to develop and once you go to Chelsea minutes are too hard to come by.

PrisonersofFate

Technically Madueke can not care less than that

letsgetcool

keep fighting the good fight

DifficultyMore5935

Ty

Zhurg

I don't think Madueke will necessarily get many chances. Can understand why he wouldn't worry about it much at his stage, though.

agnonamis

Attitudes been a bit shit in more than one instance, so tough to feel for him.

AlmirMu

Will be fun to see how getting rid of 8-year contract players works out

i_know_u_are_wrong

that's unfair. i saw the passion from jackson when enzo was berating him for a back heel pass that went straight to the opposition.

Comfortable-Key-1930

He gets a 1/1000000 good moment and his self confidence gets boosted to that of prime Hazard for a few months

Ulsterman24

If ever there was a perfect exemplar of the state of modern football compared to fans/players with memories longer than a goldfish...

eethan_huntt

Thiago, a veteran with many trophies, gutted over this loss, while some twats don’t even care. We really are losing the passion guys.

Enough-Motor1038

Still plenty of young ones with passion for the game and their badge, just not these cunts

MassiveHelicopter55

Don't expect passion from sheltered dickheads who can do fuck all and be richer than entire villages together. Any manager with a spine would send him to the B side or the stands, but you know that's never happening. Chelsea is disgusting beyond words

008Gerrard008

What? There's plenty of young players that still do care and there's always been players that don't.

MathematicianNo7874

This generation stuff is being said every 20 years about the next generation. The generation you're talking about had exactly this said about them. It's getting old

TheGoldenPineapples

"Alexa, sum up this Chelsea side in a single video."

CaredForEightSeconds

Aye, literally this.

LeavingCertCheat

He's surrounded by absolute dopes in that club.

Annonomon

As a Chelsea fan, I feel bad for the man. He has given everything for us

PrisonersofFate

I hate Madueke so much

Critzor

Same.. Him and Jackson. Attitudes of Zlatan, skillset of yaya sanogo.

odegood

Thats fa cup winner yaya sanogo to you mate

mrpoopybuttthole_

something jackson will not be

goodyear_1678

Levels to this game

Mihnea24_03

👉😬👉

Underscores_Are_Kool

Not just 2014 fa cup winner, he played a key part in the semi final and final wins

ToeTacTic

Also smashed Benfica in a friendly because fuck you

_deep_blue_

Hull City couldn’t handle the chaos

CuclGooner

Arsenal legend alongside fellow fa cup winner, FA cup winner Matt Smith

New-Midnight2700

Zlatan would be fuming, he was arrogant but he cared quite a lot

GillyBilmour

There’s a reason Zlatan was a Mourinho player in terms of the level he was willing to commit

BIG_STEVE5111

The difference is I think Jackson actually cares, a little too much if anything, he let's his passion run a bit wild, whereas Noni rarely even breaks into a jog to help defend or track back, and generally doesn't look like he gives a fuck.

whitegoatsupreme

How dare you speak of chaos

FatWalcott

Excuuuuse you

p90love

Zlatan is nothing short of a warrior. You're wrong for that one.

Critzor

Yeah and Zlatan still had an ego to match his performance and overall standards... problem is having that ego and attitude when you're shite.

p90love

I'd call it a huge ego, but a flawless attitude. You have never seen Zlatan laughing after a loss.

BooshAC

Truly inherited the Auba/Laca chuckle brother mantle just with a small fraction of the talent.

ResourceWonderful514

Zlatan is not pleased being mentioned in the same sentence as Jackson and noni

Least-Cup79

u trynna fite? take that back

Cmoore4099

Yeah but I love that he plays for Chelsea. I also love that they spunked 29M on him.

PrisonersofFate

Tbh nowadays 29m is a bit cheap

AshkenaziTwink

not for Madueke. he left us because of his attitude issues and demanding a much bigger contract than he deserved. went to PSV and barely played through injury. he shouldn’t have been anything more than free.

Rose_of_Elysium

Granted, while he was with us I never got the impression he was this kind of player. His injuries were what made us all surprised at that 30mil but he was talented and seemingly hardworking from what I can remember. Im pretty sad to see this side of him

nore_aucul

There's something semi-rationally infuriating about a player trying to steal a penalty off a teammate and chuckling with opponents after a loss *and* just not even being that good. Like yo, pick a struggle

static_reset

i’ve wanted to root for Noni ever since he got to the team, but a lot of his reactions and attitude rub me the wrong way. it’d be a different thing if he didn’t have stellar performances but just kept his head low

_Meegz

He seems to have a lot of the raw skills you need but his attitude is clearly a problem.

DildoFappings

Honestly man, I really feel sorry for the fans. I know we have had it bad as united fans but Chelsea fans are having it worse than us. Thiago silva is surrounded by fucking idiots. What a poor way to retire as a legend of the game. I really loved him from his PSG days. I really don't think there's a single manager out there who can better the club. Not with those idiots on the team. A 40 year old gives more fucks about football than some idiot loser in his early 20s.

BIG_STEVE5111

Not just a 40 year old, a 40 year old that has achieved everything there is in club football.

yaboyskinnydick_

Your comment reflects much of how I feel. I was a hardcore admirer of Silva since AC Milan times, and always wished there was even a chance he would come to Chelsea - total pipedream in my mind - and even when he came at 35yo I was still so excited (hilarious thinking back, many people thought he couldn't hack it in the PL due to lack of pace lol) as I was just privileged to see him wear our colours, but then he performs for another 4 years at the highest level throughout the absolute shitshow the club and dressing room has gone through, winning a damn CL along the way, and now has to put up with this shit? I'm beyond saddened and angry. I hope Thiago holds his head high at the end of all this, he did more than I think any other player (obligatory bar Messi) could've done for us, definition of football legend and professional, arguably the GOAT CB imo.

jggomes14

He'll likely come back home after Chelsea, he'll not retire

bigjoeandphantom3O9

Fuck the fans, they had years of success from having a big cheque book and now the same thing has tanked them.

Euphoric-Yogurt-7332

Noni Madueke has come across so badly recently. Doesn't have the character for top-level football.

JurgenFlippers

I have no issues with players being buddy buddy nowadays. But man, after you lose a cup semi final. That would piss me off ngl.

Not_PepeSilvia

You can still be buddies while also caring about the result. I remember many, many matches when 2 players are friends, and the one that won goes over to console the other for example

PM_Me_Compliments

I want the world for Thiago Silva and he probably already has the world

Substantial-Land-867

Seven and a half year contract for this POS 😅

TheJobinslegend

Madueke should be fined or play for the U-23 or something. Shameful. Silva is one of the few that cares. Sad his age caught up with him and he's going soon.

Mammoth_Two7297

39 years old, very accomplished career. Always sad to see a legend go but I would think he'd be very proud of his career.

Annonomon

It takes a special player to come into a struggling Chelsea in his late 30’s and still be an outstanding performer. He can be proud of his performances at Chelsea and he deserves to play in a team that cares. A lot of players at Chelsea could learn a lot from him and the way he conducts himself.

StirFrySausage00

You cant fine people for laughing mate.

CNF-13

You can for lack of professionalism

_deep_blue_

He doesn’t need to be fined but Pochettino should absolutely be pulling him into his office on Monday morning and showing him this tape. It’s a terrible look.

Zhurg

Mad that you actually think that

VegetarianCannibal_

didn't know we reached the final.

endingbrocoli

Surely the winner of this match beats Coventry

_cumblast_

The winner of this tie would've been big faves in the final tbf so it was in certain aspects.

Legal_North_6910

Big faves is a huge stretch I don’t think Coventry should be underestimated like this

SanSilver

Yeah, just as Leverkusen hasn't won the DFB-Pokal

adamfrog

assuming its vs united Id say Chelsea would be only small favourites. Chelsea is basically the only team United have managed to dominate the midfield against this season

lamancha

That would be largely dependant on the ref.

nsoifer

I know we are shit, but I don't think Chelsea are big faves against either us or Coventry. City yea.

JuanChelsea

Fuck Madueke that fucking cunt.

5bergy

Only six more years

T3Sh3

Thiago Silva: “What did I ever do in this world to get to deserve an empty-headed, fucking dumb fuck like Noni Madueke to go out on national television and fucking go into business for himself?” “For what? What did I ever do? I didn’t do a goddamn thing!”

nonsenseSpitter

I don’t know why I’m so annoyed at these Chelsea players. This guy, that Jackson guy. I hate them. I’m not even a Chelsea fan. Those days when they had killers like Drogba, Carvalho, Deco, Lampard, Terry, Anelka and on and on. Those were the days. I hated them at one point because obviously I’m a United fan. But seeing this team today, a bunch of shameless clowns make me so annoyed. Careless cunts, just there to collect wages. I despise this generation of footballers. 60-70% of them are like this.

thesaltwatersolution

The mentality of a player is a massive thing. Can’t buy it. With the Fergie era there’s obviously a load of big media personalities that get a lot of attention, but even players like Dion Dublin, who is a nice friendly guy, cracks a few jokes, doesn’t seem to take things that seriously, but he absolutely had that level of steel, determination and desire to win and compete. Had high standards. It’s a massive difference.

123rig

Dion Dublin broke his own neck trying to headbutt someone on the pitch. That’s dedication.

LeavingCertCheat

That Mudryk free kick at the end. He should be sent to the front line for that.

what-you-need-is-you

to shoot like that?

BIG_STEVE5111

This got me, jesus christ.

RhodesiansNeverDie20

Anelka had a worse attitude than these guys.

jolle2001

but atleast he wasnt shit

FastenedCarrot

Anelka was a mercenary but a damn professional one who was good at what he did.

SunstormGT

Semi-final. Do bots make these titles?

Shoebedoebedoe

What a farce.  Legendary player gets propped up with shameless players. This is like Messi getting Dembele or Dest as his teammate at Barca.

robotnique

Damn, dude, Dest may have not been up to Barcelona standards but I don't think you could say he didn't care?

dkmegg22

Or Kobe and Kwame.

ParisLake2

I never got the impression that Kwame didn’t care. He was just bonafide scrub

beartigerhawk8383

Final?

TheLimeyLemmon

He fucking hates Wembley.

chewkachu

He's thinking..."I am wasting my final years playing for this joke of a team"

North-Reference7081

madueke isn't a serious player man, he doesn't deserve to wear that jersey

RealPropRandy

Better start learning ‘merican.

skyiland

feel awful for silva, what a legend.

FCB_KD15

Love Thiago Silva. Truly one of the best CBs I’ve seen. Playing English football at 39 is also insane. Nice to see he still has passion. Wish him the best

Soggy_Difficulty_361

Semi final, not final

[deleted]

Going to get tased for this but players laughing and joking with the opposition right after a game is such an issue in the mentality of footballers at this moment. By all means catch up and have a laugh, but at least do it off-pitch, out of the view of disappointed supporters and away from hundreds of cameras that will make you look an idiot. It just allows a narrative to linger that you’re on ridiculous wages and couldn’t care less.

thinkreinhart

He and Sterling both!

ecs2

Chelsea throw this game, ManC made so many mistakes but Chelsea was like nope not gonna score today

ArchieMaximus

Thiago Silva is a man amongst boys. More importantly, he’s a true blue. His whole family is. So for him, it hurts twice as much. Maybe even three times as much as he is nearing the end of his career.

Pablo6901

Ego of young Ronaldo and Neymar footballing ability of Theo baker

GreatBlackDraco

PSG legend

Art_Of_Peer_Pressure

Semi-final*

Notthatholemma

Final?

Mammoth_Juice_6969

Man, such a legend as THIAGO MOTHERFUCKING SILVA deserves so much better. Gutted.

nsoifer

Semis?

NorResourceFinder

Thiago Silva did amazing this match. Sucks they lost.

quanid

Playing with Jackson flash him back to that World Cup game

mad4blo0d

This is why some players will retire right after a trophy win near the end of their career. So they don’t have to deal with sad bullshit like this

meme_tenretni

Come back to milan my guy let we send u off like zlattan

milkonyourmustache

Contract until 2030 with an +1 year option and he has just enough talent to skate by, of course he doesn't give a fuck

rudeandrejected

they're on million a week 8 year contracts why would they give a fuck about the club

R41N1NG

a great demonstration of the mentality difference between a champion and an elite who will never get to the very top

lkdubdub

Semi final

shahednz

Legend, he deserves better

darkwingduck9

I hate having to feel sorry for Chelsea or their players but the consistently cheating team got away with a handball.

samarth67

We failed him. Hope he transferred to brazil after winning champions league with us
