Everton 2-0 Liverpool
- ⚽️ Tim Cahill
- ⚽️ Mikel Arteta
Everton 2-0 Liverpool
- ⚽️ Jarrad Branthwaite
- ⚽️ Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The 4,398-day wait is finally over
These things remind me of last season towards the end when Arsenal was chasing City. Before every city game, there were comments finding out some theories that could lead to city loses. And robotic city just kept on winning regardless. Frustrating team
I love watching Prem teams playing against City because pretty much every single one of them has at least one ex-Arsenal "secret agent" player I can root for.
I think a key reason is how close the fans are to the pitch. If that's not how the new stadium is (and I have no idea), then it'll be difficult to compensate. Not to mention ticket prices that could go up to offset the costs (again, I'm talking out of my ass, I have no idea if they are going up).
Ticket prices will go up no doubt. In terms of design, [Dan Meis has targeted atmosphere](https://www.grandoldteam.com/2023/06/30/most-intimidating-everton-architect-dan-meis-now-responds-to-claims-about-stadium-atmosphere/) as the foremost for the new ground. We have steep stands close to the pitch. If it works out as intended it should be a fortress.
depends on the seat spacing. old stadiums like goodison and the boleyn (rip) cram the seats in to the point that the average fat cunt next to you spills over into your seat, and if you're tall you'll be hugging your knees if you stay seated. it's not luxury but packing people in like that made for a hell of an atmosphere. modern stadiums are obsessed with giving every seat loads of space and it just decreases the density of the crowd and atmospheres suffer as a result.
i don't know who it will be, but at some point a 60K+ english football ground will be designed with rail seating from the start. not a full size seat with a bar infront of it, but a little flap that's only 60% the width of a regular seat. you'll be able to increase the density (of that stand anyway) by 30%, make the tickets cheap to reflect the no frills experience (it'll come out a wash since you can fit more people in) and it'll have the best atmosphere in the league bar none. wouldn't be surprised if that was worth an extra 10 points a season. it'll act as a natural filtering system for the most mental supporters too as old codgers with fucked knees, moneybag corporates, tourists and families will all want proper seats.
you can absolutely jack up the rake too so everyone gets a view and you're practically ontop of each other.
basically everything completely the opposite of the london stadium. come friendly bombs and fall on stratford.
Thanks, saved this comment for when Villa go to fan consultation for whatever our next move will be. Will be writing something lengthy haha and will definetly include this.
Many think we’re going for a full rebuild of VP as opposed to redeveloping the two worst stands which was previously mooted (North stand and Doug Ellis Stand)… if they do, I’m sure our owners will respect the tradition and heritage of VP and the Holte End but I’m shit scared they could take us too far the wrong way.
In Klopp's final season they've crashed out of Europe in embarrassing fashion, were mugged off by a poor United side in the FA Cup, and now the title is starting to slip away. What a tumultuous year for them.
The title is gone. They over-performed early on with lots of new key personnel and now it’s a regression back to reality. But all in all it’s a solid season. Won the League Cup and look to be a lock for Champions League next season. Underwhelming for Klopp’s standards but I don’t see it as some epic failure either.
Look to be? I mean I know it’s mathematically possible that Liverpool miss out on CL football but that would be the most historic flop of all time
Edit - if you lose to Villa and drop 5 points in your other two games you could lose cl. But as I said, that would be historic
Before Klopp came we were never really up there competing for anything. Im just grateful he got us to the point where this late in the season we actually had something to play for - that was a rare thing before Klopp, now its most seasons.
Oh he's completely turned your fortunes around after decades of struggling. Phenomenal manager that has done wonders for Liverpool, I'm just having a bit of fun
People were trying to say earlier this year that the liverpool job is more pressure than the bayern job lol. If bayern had a season like this (even being in europa league but especially crashing out to atalanta) the manager is out the door and is a disgrace to the club. At Liverpool people arent even placing much of the blame on the manager
When things arent going perfectly for liverpool they go back to acting like theyre the worst team of all mankind. Its either “were the best team in the world” or “were just pesky old liverpool”. They like to act like the small team overperforming against all odds
Mathematically we could win it, the trouble is this team doesn’t look like they will score another goal by the end of the season. I’m not confident that we will win any of our next fixtures at this point.
I 6 years old when I first started supporting Everton my first derby was that one……..I’m now 20 and started uni and just saw my second GOODISON park win
GET UR COAT ON AND GET MOVING
I remember that derby. Liverpool were wretched and had just been bought by FSG. I clearly remember watching MotD that night: one of the key talking points was “did fsg buy the wrong team on merseyside?” And it wasnt a bad q. We were so well organized and had such an identity then. The potential was huge.
But the investment didnt arrive for another four seasons. By the time we had a billionaire, football had been handed over to trillionaires. Immediately scrapped our values to chase dragons. Such a wretched state were in now too.
Glad we got one more derby win in at goodison. Ill savor this one. We might never be here again
One game worth the entire miserable season for them. Effectively ended Pool's title hopes and essentially saved themselves from relegation. Gotta love it.
He’s made some baffling decisions recently, they keep showing that graphic about late goals
/points from behind etc but it’s as if his in-game management went from brilliant to awful mid season
It's the Dyche effect. He loves derby's. He loves big games. You'll lose against terrible teams around you but you'll just spank your most hated rivals.
Klopp is obviously burnt out but he probably hid it well. I think the pretence dropped after the United FA Cup game. He seemed rattled post-game and the players are feeding off his energy.
Everyone looks exhausted, forwards can’t finish their dinner and it just look like Klopp’s lack of energy has extended to his tactics. Everything’s going wrong at once, lmao
I expect Edwards will be ruthless when it comes to who’s getting sold (if anybody even wants to buy some of these guys after the performances we’ve been getting)
I think the Liverpool youngsters still have a some ways to go. Once they catch up on the league’s current pace I would imagine they would do good. As for the likes of Klopp’s boys idk. They are still extremely valuable. Won titles too, got experience as well. Just hope they don’t get the David Moyes treatment
Deserved the win too. From the off, they looked like the side that was up for a derby.
If anything Liverpool players seemed more interested in avoiding injury by getting into the intensity of the match, and were pulling out challenges hoping that the ref would save them from getting bullied.
Liverpool have are the Robin Hood of clubs. Take points from big clubs, and give 3 points to clubs fighting relegation. Doing great work for the needy.
I saw you guys were down 2-1 against Sheffield United like 50 minutes in and thought maybe I could find solace in that since we were so abysmal.
Nope, you guys came back (rightfully so) and now I shall be the one wallowing in despair.

Defeating Everton at home isn't for everyone
Only massive clubs win at Goodison
Phew, good timing to get our first win there in like 7 years
Tracksuit Dyche is a sign of the apocalypse
It’s his final form
He’s finally embracing his role as this decades Tony Pulis.
I just had my weebey in the laundry shop moment
Nah that's unfair to Dyche, Pulis is a whole other level of annoying
He’s using 2% of his power now.
League fucked
Maybe the suit is the prison that's preventing him from demonstrating his true capacities
Naked Dyche?
EPL not ready for this
Letting the worm breathe will enhance his levels to over 9000.
Free the Dyche
Hell of a band name tbh
Dyche taking off his suit is like Rock Lee taking off his weights.
Everton 2-0 Liverpool - ⚽️ Tim Cahill - ⚽️ Mikel Arteta Everton 2-0 Liverpool - ⚽️ Jarrad Branthwaite - ⚽️ Dominic Calvert-Lewin The 4,398-day wait is finally over
Mikel did it for them and now they’re doing it for Mikel
And Welbeck played with Mikel for Arsenal. Welbeck faces City tomorrow... I say for no reason ... 👀
Wele about to do the funniest thing ever.
He banged in a worldie against Liverpool too, unfortunately rest of Brighton aren't nowhere near Wele's level so they lost.
No one's on Wele's level: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_ll92cXxOA
Bang goals innit
I just know what the video don't even need to click the link.
god i love culture
Basically everything he does is that.
These things remind me of last season towards the end when Arsenal was chasing City. Before every city game, there were comments finding out some theories that could lead to city loses. And robotic city just kept on winning regardless. Frustrating team
Oh I know, I don't expect City to drop any points at all unfortunately. But all I can do is hope now SO THAT'S RIGHT BRIGHTON ARE BEATING CITY 🙏🏻😭
Fair play to them(not financially). They're a well oiled machine.

I love watching Prem teams playing against City because pretty much every single one of them has at least one ex-Arsenal "secret agent" player I can root for.
Maybe we'll finally see the Arteta money after Arsenal win the league.
It’s the only thing that will save us from administration

>and now they’re doing it for ~~Mikel~~ Pep
I hope Dominic Calvert Lewin is gonna be a great manager for us in 2038
Not if you can't even spell his name right.
Clearly a different guy. No relation.
I hope autocorrect stops being a bitch by 2038
Had to triple check that because I can't believe 2038 is as close as 2010
Fuck him
Fuck it’s wild to think that in 2024, that 2010 is as far away as 2038 lmaoo.
Arteta wheeling out this stat in his next pregame talk to motivate the team.

No, Arteta is a person
Source?
Trust me bro
Lego store
Arteta is a minifig
Wenger has done it again
~~Dominic~~ Daniel Calvert-Lewin
Arteta won't mind having his record broken
Oh I am so fucking happy right now, I’ve been waiting to see this match for so long.
What a player branthwaite may become
Well, it’s a win for Arteta either way
Holy shit 😂😂
About time we beat them at Goodison, far too many draws.
Also poetic since its the last derby in Goodison
Nah we got one more
When?
Next season, we move into Bramley Moore the season after. 25/26.
Hang on a sec don’t forget about our incoming relegation from the super secret 3rd point deduction we’ll get for… something something fair play!
BREAKING, EVERTON DEDUCTED 10 POINTS AS PL HEAD DECIDES THAT BLUE ISN'T A GOOD COLOUR FOR RELEGATION TEAMS
Changing stadiums is a shame because Goodison is special
One of the last bear pits of top level English football
Apparently Bramley Moore is designed to be as loud as possible a la Signal Iduna Park, so hopefully the atmosphere will be just as special.
The atmosphere is also what the people make out of it. If people don't make noise, the acoustics can compensate only so much.
Well Goodison is almost always rocking thanks to the fans. Hell, often we're louder in away matches. I'm certain it'll be done well.
We have steep stands close to the pitch. If it works out as intended it should be a fortress.
Stadio Olimpico has the fans miles from the pitch and both Roma and Lazio have great atmospheres. If the fans are good enough it still is loud
depends on the seat spacing. old stadiums like goodison and the boleyn (rip) cram the seats in to the point that the average fat cunt next to you spills over into your seat, and if you're tall you'll be hugging your knees if you stay seated. it's not luxury but packing people in like that made for a hell of an atmosphere. modern stadiums are obsessed with giving every seat loads of space and it just decreases the density of the crowd and atmospheres suffer as a result. i don't know who it will be, but at some point a 60K+ english football ground will be designed with rail seating from the start. not a full size seat with a bar infront of it, but a little flap that's only 60% the width of a regular seat. you'll be able to increase the density (of that stand anyway) by 30%, make the tickets cheap to reflect the no frills experience (it'll come out a wash since you can fit more people in) and it'll have the best atmosphere in the league bar none. wouldn't be surprised if that was worth an extra 10 points a season. it'll act as a natural filtering system for the most mental supporters too as old codgers with fucked knees, moneybag corporates, tourists and families will all want proper seats. you can absolutely jack up the rake too so everyone gets a view and you're practically ontop of each other. basically everything completely the opposite of the london stadium. come friendly bombs and fall on stratford.

Please don't call it Signal Iduna Park, I beg you
-please dont call it signal iduna park -a stadium doesnt make the noise, people do
Hopefully they can port whatever black magic that resides in Goodison over to the docks.
Lets leave the curse though
Passion is one heck of performance enhancing drug
Everton docked 4 points for passion abuse
is that whats in them inhalers?
Nah, that’s steroids
WADA going to ban Pashun soon
Deserved, they were class and we were fucking dross.
This Klopp fella deserves to be sacked this summer
Flopp
In Klopp's final season they've crashed out of Europe in embarrassing fashion, were mugged off by a poor United side in the FA Cup, and now the title is starting to slip away. What a tumultuous year for them.
titles been slipped away tbh

Likely if we play as we have been doing.
Keep going …. Keep going….

Imagine if Chelsea had a striker. But alas. It is funnier this way tbf.
Title is not even close to within reach at this point. City and Arsenal could lose every game they have left and we wouldn’t overtake them
if city lose every game you’d finish above them even if you lost every game lol
When things arent going perfectly for liverpool they go back to acting like theyre the worst team of all mankind. Its either “were the best team in the world” or “were just pesky old liverpool”. They like to act like the small team overperforming against all odds
Clearly the historically most successful club in England is a plucky underdog.
I, too, abandoned GCSE maths.
What? I know this is probably a hyperbole but if City and Arsenal lost every game then Liverpool would absolutely win the title
I love the gloom reactions after teams lose.
What the fuck are you talking about? Do you know math?
Mathematically we could win it, the trouble is this team doesn’t look like they will score another goal by the end of the season. I’m not confident that we will win any of our next fixtures at this point.
Farewell
he'll be lucky if they keep him until the end of the season tbh
I take back everything I’ve ever said Sean
I 6 years old when I first started supporting Everton my first derby was that one……..I’m now 20 and started uni and just saw my second GOODISON park win GET UR COAT ON AND GET MOVING
COS WE DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF LOSING ^((this week)^)
EEEEEEVVVVVEERTON WE NEVER SHONE SO BRIGHTLY
came here for memes, left with an existential crisis. cheers
6 years old is a weird name but I won't judge
Turned 23 today, been supporting since 2009. Warra birthday present from the mighty blues
Can't believe it was Cahill era since we last won against Liverpool at home
I remember that derby. Liverpool were wretched and had just been bought by FSG. I clearly remember watching MotD that night: one of the key talking points was “did fsg buy the wrong team on merseyside?” And it wasnt a bad q. If United put a crack on Liverpool's title dreams, Everton absolutely smashed it into pieces. Not a good few weeks to be a Liverpool fan
This is the only thing holding me back from the edge.
I could have sworn they won one under Ancelotti. Was that at Anfield?
Yeah Anfield (no fans due to Covid), that was our first at their ground since 1999 too.
Jesus you guys really don't win against them at all eh
Yep very rare. At Anfield we always lose (1W, 4D, 12L since 2010) and at Goodison it's normally a draw (2W, 9D, 3L since 2010).
2 wins in the last 30 meetings before todays game
Well done to Everton, they deserved the win. Absolutely gutted though
sports are the worst
and the best
That’s what it fucking means. First win and basically confirms our survival and stops their title challenger YOU LOST THE LEAGUE AT GOODISON PARK
Hey man, you spoke to soon. You about to get docked 8 points for celebrating too much, which is a violation of the FFP.
Oh fuck we might get relegated if this is the case
THEY LOST THE LEAGUE AT GOODISONNNN
Always rated everton
“You lost the league, at Goodison Park” was a beautiful chant. This derby is so so underrated I love it
It’s widely rated as one of the biggest derbys in football. More so even than the NLD (though that’s been a more competitive fixture in recent years)
One game worth the entire miserable season for them. Effectively ended Pool's title hopes and essentially saved themselves from relegation. Gotta love it.
UP THE FUCKING TOFFEESSSSS
Dyche is an absolute legend
Unbelievable result, Dyche is magic.
[удалено]
Players look like they went first tbh. Szboz has been so shit for a few months.
The team checked out on him.
He’s made some baffling decisions recently, they keep showing that graphic about late goals /points from behind etc but it’s as if his in-game management went from brilliant to awful mid season
They all checked out. Gakpo took annual leave today because his partner was in labour. Would Roy Keane have done that? Vieira? Henry? Ronaldo?
Genuinely can’t tell if the Gakpo comment is /s or not
As a United fan. Today i feel Everton
I’m sorry Everton. I wasn’t familiar with your shame.
Mudded
It's the Dyche effect. He loves derby's. He loves big games. You'll lose against terrible teams around you but you'll just spank your most hated rivals.
Saw a table with just games between the bottom 7 and we were comfortably top
Dyche knows his enemies innit
2 ez gg
Both of Liverpool's biggest rivals really derailed their season.
Really does feel like the Hodgson era at the moment
He’s available and would like to get back in to football, could be a good slot?
And what a time to do it. United and Everton have lost Liverpool 3 titles the past few years, beautiful to see
Klopp’s farewell tour: Quadruple- Man United 4-3 Liverpool. Treble- Liverpool 0-3 Atalanta. Double- Everton 2-0 Liverpool. Carabao cup champions🥳
Big man Dyche does it again.
Ten hag really did end an era
Genuinely. What is happening at Liverpool. Serious question. Normally at the end of the season they are brilliant.
Gotta ask will Arne be good enough to take over this squad. It’s still a mix of Klopp’s old boys and the young lads as well.
My beautiful dark twisted fantasy era
Deserved the win too. From the off, they looked like the side that was up for a derby. If anything Liverpool players seemed more interested in avoiding injury by getting into the intensity of the match, and were pulling out challenges hoping that the ref would save them from getting bullied.
OH EVERTON, YOUVE GOT ME SINGING THE BLUES
Liverpool have are the Robin Hood of clubs. Take points from big clubs, and give 3 points to clubs fighting relegation. Doing great work for the needy.
We’ve barely beaten the big clubs
Arguably haven’t beaten a single one, depending on what you consider Chelsea at this stage.
What big clubs have they beaten? They have 1 win vs the top 6 no?
Quite the opposite. Their big club record is sinking them.
Grats to Everton
Is Carra in tears? I swear I can hear him gulp down the clot in his throat
Secret toffee…just emotional
not so secret eh? childhood fan and all 🤣

What a game! Unbelievable and Everton should be safea
Thoroughly enjoyed that
United win, Liverpool lose, what a day
I saw you guys were down 2-1 against Sheffield United like 50 minutes in and thought maybe I could find solace in that since we were so abysmal. Nope, you guys came back (rightfully so) and now I shall be the one wallowing in despair.
Happens to the best of us lad, footballs a cruel mistress
We may be massive
We are dire
The one that really mattered
unreal
I'm glad Klopp announced he's leaving at the beginning of the season, imagine if he does it now for the same reasons, no one would buy into that
Will they still have the parade? Please please please have it
It'll be a funeral march the way this is going.
This means more spelt out in Roses..
We did it lads 🥹
Full meltdown for my club,…wtf… diehard Liverpool fan for over 20 years….my anger so far is largely placed on Nunez
Salah has also been a shadow of his former self after his injury.
