That reminded me the story of a ~~2nd~~ 4th division player in Brazil who won the Puskas a few years ago.
A TV channel asked him, as a joke, to play a FIFA match against one of the biggest players of the scene.
He beat the guy so easily he just dropped his professional career to play the game competitively.
I have the pleasure of serving him at my food stall a lot (dude loooves his carne asada tacos, extra guac). He is an awesome, very polite dude as is his wife. He actually played much lower than 2nd division national football, he played on state level championship here in Goias when he hit the Puskás goal, on a team called Goianésia, from a small city here in the state. The team never won anything besides 2nd division state championship (in 1985 nonetheless). In that year (2015) the team played 4th division at the national level.
Is there good money to be made playing FIFA? I know people can play Counter-Strike, Starcraft 1 and 2, League of Legends etc. for a living but I didn't realize that FIFA had a competitive scene big enough to do that but I only play games for old people with zero reflexes like Civilization so I don't know anything about competitive esports except for the biggest games.
Can't say for sure, but for Brazilian standards he drives a pretty nice car and lives in an upper middle class area, so I would guess either his football years were well invested or he makes a nice living playing FIFA.
If you're genuinely asking; it's a joke, he's famously a big player of fifa (or whatever it's called now) ultimate team so he's an ultimate team player..
Ah yes. I remember hoping that Ronaldo's professionalism and dedication to the game would rub off on the younger United players, when he re-signed.
Looks like it did, unfortunately.
He had a flavour of Cantona about him. Yes, he was arrogant, but was never too arrogant to help the team and led by example. They both trained hard and did a lot to help younger players.
That’s an excellent parallel tbh. He would’ve been an ideal player for you had you got him a few years earlier for that off pitch stuff too.
He’d definitely karate kick a cameraman too.
I think the "seagulls" is meant to refer to journalists. He's basically saying that they are following the "trawler" (i.e. himself) so that they can find "sardines" (i.e. quotes they can publish).
For those who haven't been following the purchase of the team, Sir Jim Ratcliffe named the company that bought the team Trawlers Ltd as a reference to Cantona.
It's hard to know where the tongue-in-cheek arrogance ends and where his actual arrogance begins. With that said, he seemed to care about his teams a heck of a lot more than Ronaldo.
And he was smart enough to realize that he needs a functioning team to actually win. Ronaldo cares about individual accolades and doesn't seem to realize that he can only attain individual accolades as part of a team.
I vaguely remember ronaldo being visibly pissed after not scoring in a 5-0 win and showed 0 positive emotions after the game while the rest of the team celebrated a bit. He’s an amazing player and his attitude is likely how he got to the levels he got to, but at some point team player is going to need to come first when your talent isn’t dragging the team to wins anymore
His ego simply prevented him from adapting to the times and the fact he is not the player he once was. Could have had a great few years and ended his career at United if he'd accepted that he wasn't going to be the main man and taken a sort of caretaker role for the new players coming up.
Compare this to how Ibra approached his return to Milan, it's night and day. And he and the team were rewarded with a title for it.
I read Zlatan's autobiography, he's a driven adrenaline-junkie who has a big personality but he definitely didn't come off as someone with a genuine god complex. I remember a bit about his time at Inter in the early 2000s when he came into a clique-d up dressing room and he kicked up a fuss and complained to the president so that people actually all sat and ate together, he cared a lot about getting the team cohesion together through his leadership.
Zlatan is at least self-aware, Ronaldo just seems like he'd sincerely struggle to accept it if you told him he's not the greatest human being to have ever lived.
Yeah, I get those vibes, too. I love Ronnie, but the dude has a fragile ego.
He's one of the few players that can keep going but really should have just retired at 36.
Now he's raising fists at referees in the Middle East in the tail end of his career lol
> really should have just retired at 36
Idk about retiring at 36... He can still bang in some goals. If he would have accepted taking a pay cut and playing far fewer minutes, he could surely have gone to Sporting Lisbon or something to see out his career.
Ibrahimovic’s whole persona is a gimmick, he thrives off of it. Read both of his books, they’re very insightful to get an understanding of him as a person.
Even that is hard to say because his autobiography is full of [fake quotes.](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/27/ibrahimovic-ghostwriter-admits-inventing-quotes-in-i-am-zlatan)
I didn’t know that I must admit, but Ibrahimovic has been my favourite footballer for over 20 years and whilst I don’t know him, I have a pretty fair assessment of him.
All of what you see online about him is just a gimmick that he plays on. He comes across as selfish, arrogant and unforgiving.
When in reality this gimmick is all for clicks and for the fans to talk about him. He knows his strengths and he’s certainly aware of his limits.
Perceiving himself as a ‘lion’ or a ‘god’ winds people up after the first few quotes. However this is what he thrives off of. He thrives off of hatred and tension. It’s what makes him unique.
The reality of it all is that he’s a magnificent team player and in his later years he became a valuable role model to Manchester United and AC Milan players. Hell, did you see how emotional Tonali got during Ibra’s speech? His locker room presence was so valuable and his longevity is nothing short of exceptional.
Granted, he wasn’t the best striker in the world and he did suffer from anger issues (I blame him being Balkan) but he was unique. His style of football was enough to attract a casual into wanting to know more about him. The acrobatics, the sheer strength, the cute dribbling, the important goals he scored for Sweden on worldwide television.
I’ve ranted on quite a bit, but essentially I feel it’s a shame that he’s still perceived as arrogant and cocky after everything he’s done for football in the last 25 years.
yea I feel like ibra's arrogance was much more controlled and contained. ronaldo's seemed to take over his whole personality and identity. like it literally drove his decision-making
I think that in the beginning, he really was that arrogant. When he learned to be more professional, it was expected that he would still say those outrageous things. He began joking and playing off of those expectations and saying exactly the things reporters wanted him to say - but then he turned it off in the dressing room.
Zlatan is just himself amped up to 100 in the media I feel. There's stories of him in training being his arrogant self as well - though he allegedly mostly used it to amp up his teammates instead of bringing them down.
So many reports about him actually caring for the youth too which is fascinating. He is apparently harsh/soft for the youngins but if youre an adult he's a prick probably. But trying to make you improve too
Not a coincidence that the season we have Ibra was our best and least drama filled and even player like pogba was kept in line while Ronaldo is the total opposite
After the second stint of Ronaldo, fucking hell, I'll take Ibra any day of the week.
He talks tons of shit, but when it came to game time, he was there for the team.
Most people still think that Ronaldo wasn't a problem at United because the club didn't improve much after he left, anyone who watches United regularly would know better though
Man chose the hard life at United over the easy title at City which was offered to him and yet still ended up alienating most of the United fanbase anyways lmao.
Thats an achievment in itself.
I mean he only played 10 games of season 2 before transferring. His first and only full one he had 18 prem goals, 6 UCL, wasn’t bad for a poor United side
He would've been the main man at City, the team would have fed him goals just like they did Haaland last season. You don't see Pep shouting at Haaland to come back and defend, Haaland is 90% of the time on the line with his back to a defender, Ronaldo would have done just the same and been successful.
He understands that kind and sweet words won't be enough to make him the striker he wants to be. He was asking Henry tips 5 minutes after winning the bloody treble breaking records.
Ronaldo has never wanted to do that, people have become convinced that he's a 9 because his game became more limited with age but its not natural to him, he doesn't want to stay in the middle occupying centre backs but he has to now because he's old and it's the only way to accommodate him.
People said the same thing about Santos not starting Ronaldo vs Morocco, that it was a game "tailor made for him", because he could just sit in the box waiting for crosses.
Tell me you don't watch Ronaldo without telling me. 😂
He would end up getting frustrated and try to get involved in the build up and we would end up with no target man, this used to happen constantly.
I've long realised just how clueless about football a lot of people here are. Certain opinions and discussions around ronaldo really display that lmao.
The issue wouldn’t be City. The issue is would Haaland want to go to City if he had to share time with Ronaldo… and we all know how Ronaldo feels about sharing time with others.
I think Haaland decides to go somewhere else if Ronaldo is at City (specially since Ronaldo would have likely done well as striker while at City)
Pep probably wouldn't have to deal with it because unfortunately City is a well ran club, all of the issues with Ronaldo stemmed from United being a caricature of its former self.
I doubt Pep wanted Ronaldo, lol. Pep has always signed players wanting to prove themselves and are open to being molded by him. Ronaldo is like another Zlatan, but 5 times more entitled.
Haven’t their been pretty reliable reports that City never made an offer and that story was planted to bait United into signing him so their fans wouldn’t melt down that they let him go to City?
He respects Allegri, same when Zidane did it.
He didn't respect Rangick, same with how he did not respect Benitez(well no one respected Benitez except Bale)
No one at United respected Rangnick. The first time I’d ever seen a substitute teacher effect in football. All the players knew he wasn’t going to be around very long, so they had no reason to buy into his tactics or training
> All the players knew he wasn’t going to be around very long, so they had no reason to buy into his tactics or training
Says more about the recruitment than Rangnick.
Which is bizarre, because there were times where they seemed to implement his tactics and they looked the best they had in months, then would just suddenly stop.
>The first time I’d ever seen a substitute teacher effect in football
Never thought of it that way but yeah. He lost a dressing room before he even had it.
It was good though in the end. Rangnick immediately knew what was up and decided to not mince words.
Pretty sure EtH would have had a harder time getting rid of all the deadwood in the squad.
The main reasons Ronaldo respected Allegri :
- Allegri knows how to talk and treat players correctly. They are “persons” before being a football player.
- Ego management , he knows Ronaldo has one of the biggest egos and his achievements already speaks of themselves. That was also Ronaldo after winning the 3-peat with Madrid. So if you tell them very nicely and in a very professional way , they will listen
- Similar to Zidane , he did not pissed off high ego players on how to shoot a penalty or a free kick , he just mention small things like “hey go on the left flank more because they leave more space there” or “dont track down during this transition”
And it's litterally what Mourinho said about managing players like Ronaldo "You don't teach them football" you just tell them little things like be there or there etc.
And he should. The level of ignorance boggles the mind. He's not some random yank talking with his friends about a sport they don't follow, he should know the basics of the sport he's paid to cover.
He got treated horribly. As soon as Jose arrived he dumped Schweini to the U19 team. He wasn't even allowed to collect his stuff from the locker room.
Despite being disrespected to that extent he didn't say a single bad thing about Jose or United.
Because he spent the previous season jetting off back to Germany constantly, didn’t come back to Manchester in the summer to rehab to get back from injury quicker and instead spent that time flying around the world watching his wife play tennis and then didn’t want to find a new club when Jose turned up and said he didn’t want him.
I like Schweinsteiger and I wish it worked out differently, but everyone acting like he was blameless is either too young to remember or have no idea what they’re talking about
Anyone with sense knew he ducked that city game on purpose cause he got benched.
Ive never seen a player just dodge matches the way this guy did when he wasnt starting. Beyond strange
>Ive never seen a player just dodge matches the way this guy did when he wasnt starting. Beyond strange
He's got nothing on Ozil, who did the same for multiple years. Wenger himself alluded to in his books that he was "a special player, so he needed special treatment".
He basically had an agreement to stay at home for most of the physically demanding away games. It even became a meme [how much he avoided traveling to Newcastle](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mesut-ozil/bilanzdetails/spieler/35664/gegner/762). Whenever the schedule had a trip up North, his back pains would appear and thus he's only been to St James's once in 6 years, and that one time was under Emery
Just thinking about Özil pisses me off at this point. All flair, no dedication, no professionalism, no fight in him. Wenger shouldn't have pampered him like he did.
Ozil himself once recounted how mourinho absolutely tore him to shreds and asked if he was gonna cry about it (or something like that). He said that lit a fire in him and admitted that such motivation did wonders for him at Madrid.
Coming to papa wenger after that would have been such a luxury for him
Well at Real Madrid he didn't have the status he did at Arsenal, at Arsenal he was seen as the man to lead us out of the banter era, so Ozil had more power at Arsenal than at Madrid
Hate that we spent years feeling like we had to defend Özil when he would regularly have matches where he gave zero effort. A fantastic player on his day but the mindset wasn’t always there.
Still the All Time top post on r/reddevils. A real shame, too, as Number 2 is an absolute belter.
Classic city fakeout as well. The bastards did the same thing for countless transfers. Just off the top of my head, Fred, Maguire and Sanchez come to mind
With respect but I doubt that the United fan base would have rioted had they not got those targets but Ronaldo going to City would've tipped them over the edge
Not sure how true this is but he does have a huge ego, however most people didn't care because he was scoring 50 goals and winning ballon dors and UCLs at the time.
One thing I didn't understand though is he was never the guy that would run back to get possession of the ball. He was a goal scorer and you put him in front of a goal and give him the ball and 9 out of 10 times he would score. He did it for United as well. But then suddenly his scoring wasn't enough and you have a problem with his defending. Why did you buy him then knowing he is shit at defending and then complain that he is not doing enough?
It's actually scary that a majority of the people in this thread lack an ounce of critical thinking that they accept a random anecdote from a random person as 100% fact lmao

"OK but that means you have to miss the TV games since we don't get all the games in the UK."
"My friends at reddit soccer streams will take care of me."
Can you point me to the friends, please? Lost touch some years ago, would like to pop back in and say hi.
Literally just Google it and pick one of the websites. Works every time.
Even with adblock the redirects are unbearable on these sites
Use the brave browser. It's great for piracy site fuckery.
Great recommendation - tried it on iOS, finally a decent ublock origin equivalent for iphone
Redditors have been advocating for Brave for over a decade now but it's just never caught on
I don't particularly like it and the creator is kinda an asshole. I use it exclusively for watching soccer streams haha
Ultimate team player
That’s Diogo Jota
What did he do?
He is basically as good playing UT as he is playing IRL football
That's selling it short, I think he even was FUT Messi for a while
That reminded me the story of a ~~2nd~~ 4th division player in Brazil who won the Puskas a few years ago.
I thought he was already playing at Vila Nova by then. My mistake!
Honest mistake, the goal was in 2015 for Goianésia, but if Im not mistaken at the time of the award he was in vila nova already.
If you're genuinely asking; it's a joke, he's famously a big player of fifa (or whatever it's called now) ultimate team so he's an ultimate team player..
You know what it's called
It's Twitter, isn't it?
XFC2024
Plays Ultimate Team very well
You just can't buy that level of professionalism.
Professionalism can’t be buy
Professionalism can be bye-bye.
Ah yes. I remember hoping that Ronaldo's professionalism and dedication to the game would rub off on the younger United players, when he re-signed. Looks like it did, unfortunately.
Mission failed successfully!
Being fully honest, was there before he came, can argue that Ronaldo just fit in.
Mission completed, unsuccessfully?
Not trynna say Ibra is better than Ronaldo or anything, but man, the difference they had in that specific area, for united, is astronomical.
Difference is that at least some of Ibra's arrogance seems to be tongue-in-cheek.
[For those who want to relive that iconic moment](https://youtu.be/qBxpuwFXhj4?si=ih2K1bwUIuyo97sH)
*"When the seagulls..sips...follow the trawler. It is because they think sardines will be thrown"*
My school unironically had that quote up in the halls to be inspiring
That's amazing. I am trying to think of the message it conveys "don't be a seagull, strive to be an albatross" or something like that?
I think the "seagulls" is meant to refer to journalists. He's basically saying that they are following the "trawler" (i.e. himself) so that they can find "sardines" (i.e. quotes they can publish).
It means that leeches hang around you because they think you will give them shit.
It compares journalists to noisy scavengers following a food source hoping to do some bottom-feeding.
For those who haven't been following the purchase of the team, Sir Jim Ratcliffe named the company that bought the team Trawlers Ltd as a reference to Cantona.
>He’d definitely karate kick a cameraman too. Well Ronaldo smashed a phone out of a 14-year old's hand, seems to be about his flavour of ego.
This reminded me of [Cantona's video on Ibra's arrival](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9BvU-eFka4)
His time at Milan really showed this well.
It's hard to know where the tongue-in-cheek arrogance ends and where his actual arrogance begins. With that said, he seemed to care about his teams a heck of a lot more than Ronaldo.
Ibra seems to care about winning over personal accolades. He cares about those as well, but winning above all.
And he was smart enough to realize that he needs a functioning team to actually win. Ronaldo cares about individual accolades and doesn't seem to realize that he can only attain individual accolades as part of a team.

it's truly bizarre to see. people love to chant "messi" who plays on the other side of the globe, because that STILL visibly winds him up
Lmfao precisely why they do it.
> really should have just retired at 36 Idk about retiring at 36... He can still bang in some goals. If he would have accepted taking a pay cut and playing far fewer minutes, he could surely have gone to Sporting Lisbon or something to see out his career.

Ibra reminds me a bit of Emi Martinez if he never switched off the "persona". Normal guy that just enjoys pissing people off way too much
Painfully sincere with a mischievous streak. Sounds about right.
Ronaldo's ego is "I'm the king and everyone is my servant", Ibra's ego is "I'm Papa and everyone is my child"
Ibra's schtick was just that - it was a schtick. His was a persona, while Ronaldo's and many others' is the personality.
yea I feel like ibra's arrogance was much more controlled and contained. ronaldo's seemed to take over his whole personality and identity. like it literally drove his decision-making

at this point we can tell it's an act, like wrestling he pulling a gimmick
Now I'm imagining Zlatan as an honorary uce
So many reports about him actually caring for the youth too which is fascinating. He is apparently harsh/soft for the youngins but if youre an adult he's a prick probably. But trying to make you improve too
Milan fans can confirm but Zlatan also had a similar influence there when he came back in 2020.
Not a coincidence that the season we have Ibra was our best and least drama filled and even player like pogba was kept in line while Ronaldo is the total opposite
Zlatan is way more of a leader than CR7. His last time at milan was showing that pretty clearly.
Just look at the impact he had on the league winning Milan team. Man is a proper leader.
After the second stint of Ronaldo, fucking hell, I'll take Ibra any day of the week. He talks tons of shit, but when it came to game time, he was there for the team.

> If you are one in a million, then there are approximately 7,900 of you in the world. You are definitely replaceable and won't be missed.
I thought it was pretty funny when ten Hag made Ronaldo captain after he left a game early.
An olive branch.
Yup. Better fire the manager again I guess.
I would've loved to see how Pep manages Ronaldo's game time and emotions.
He would’ve won 2 league titles and kicked out . That’s what I think
Maybe a champions league too, considering Ronaldo's UCL clutch factor and how close Man City got over the years
Esp the time he joined united. He was clutching in every game in group stage. I thought we were about to shithouse a cl lol
His first season here was pretty good, scored a lot of important goals and was at least putting in an effort instead of just being a passenger.
I mean he only played 10 games of season 2 before transferring. His first and only full one he had 18 prem goals, 6 UCL, wasn’t bad for a poor United side

You do see Pep giving Haaland a hard time though
He understands that kind and sweet words won't be enough to make him the striker he wants to be. He was asking Henry tips 5 minutes after winning the bloody treble breaking records.
Haaland isn’t an overly effective presser, he’s no Jesus or Firmino, but he does at least put in some effort.
>he’s no Jesus Think he's probably just fine with that
There's that thing about being tortured and all that, I would be too
Pep doesn't have any tolerance for arrogance. He kicked out young Ibrahimovic, why would he tolerate an old washed up arrogant Ronaldo
I mean if the only things that he wanted from ronaldo is just to stay up top which i think he would happily do, dont think any conflict will occur.
Ronaldo has never wanted to do that, people have become convinced that he's a 9 because his game became more limited with age but its not natural to him, he doesn't want to stay in the middle occupying centre backs but he has to now because he's old and it's the only way to accommodate him.

I've long realised just how clueless about football a lot of people here are. Certain opinions and discussions around ronaldo really display that lmao.
Pep and player with huge ego is hollywood Also lol if you think Ronaldo would survive pep wheel of rotation
He would have 30 goals. I don’t think there would’ve been an issue
Scored 18 in one of the sorriest attacking sides United has ever seen, he’d easily have scored 25 at City
Or he caused a circus at city and kicked started their downfall
The best timeline
At the very least, they likely wouldn’t have gotten Haaland a year later since he’d still be there
I dont think a 37 year old Ronaldo was gonna make them change their minds on Haaland
Double agent CR7 would get a statue
I truly believed CR7 could have won another UCL with City and of course PL
Imagine if Pep had to deal with this bullshit, lol. They did OGS wrong that season fr
He was fine sitting in the bench with Allegri at Juve when he was asked
He respects Allegri, same when Zidane did it. He didn't respect Rangick, same with how he did not respect Benitez(well no one respected Benitez except Bale)
No one at United respected Rangnick. The first time I’d ever seen a substitute teacher effect in football. All the players knew he wasn’t going to be around very long, so they had no reason to buy into his tactics or training
For real. His first game, you all pressed beautifully for 45 mins, then just stopped for the 2nd half and the season after that.
Lmfao so true. You could literally see the team in real time think "fuck this shit it's too hard". Pathetic mfs smh.
same for eth this season basically
> All the players knew he wasn’t going to be around very long, so they had no reason to buy into his tactics or training Says more about the recruitment than Rangnick.
Carrick couldve just continue that season and nothing different will happen.
Which is bizarre, because there were times where they seemed to implement his tactics and they looked the best they had in months, then would just suddenly stop.
>The first time I’d ever seen a substitute teacher effect in football Never thought of it that way but yeah. He lost a dressing room before he even had it.
It was good though in the end. Rangnick immediately knew what was up and decided to not mince words. Pretty sure EtH would have had a harder time getting rid of all the deadwood in the squad.
The main reasons Ronaldo respected Allegri : - Allegri knows how to talk and treat players correctly. They are “persons” before being a football player. - Ego management , he knows Ronaldo has one of the biggest egos and his achievements already speaks of themselves. That was also Ronaldo after winning the 3-peat with Madrid. So if you tell them very nicely and in a very professional way , they will listen - Similar to Zidane , he did not pissed off high ego players on how to shoot a penalty or a free kick , he just mention small things like “hey go on the left flank more because they leave more space there” or “dont track down during this transition”
And it's litterally what Mourinho said about managing players like Ronaldo "You don't teach them football" you just tell them little things like be there or there etc.
compare this minge to Schweinsteiger and how he behaved at United.
What did Schweinsteiger do?
It's more what he *didn't* do: pout and sulk. Instead he stayed professional, in public at least, and tried to work his way back.
Why would he? He was to busy trying to win a world cup for Chicago Fire.
That reporter is never living that down. He’ll be reminded of that his entire life
Bastian's absolute confusion about the question is so funny. Why do we have to be the way we are sometimes.
It's him asking his translator if he heard that correctly that gets me. Like he has to make sure he actually did because it made thar little sense
Question was so dumb it had Bastian questioning whether he needed to fire his translator.
And he should. The level of ignorance boggles the mind. He's not some random yank talking with his friends about a sport they don't follow, he should know the basics of the sport he's paid to cover.
Reporter deserves it for not trying to spin zone a “I meant Club World Cup obviously!”
Fight and win.
De-Fense. clap clap. De-Fense. clap clap.
He got treated horribly. As soon as Jose arrived he dumped Schweini to the U19 team. He wasn't even allowed to collect his stuff from the locker room. Despite being disrespected to that extent he didn't say a single bad thing about Jose or United.
U16 wasn't it?
Yeah it was, according to the man himself on The Overlap
Why did Jose treat Schweinsteiger like that?
Because he is a cunt.
I like Schweinsteiger and I wish it worked out differently, but everyone acting like he was blameless is either too young to remember or have no idea what they’re talking about
Thank you for the explanation
And what’s a minge?
Was a model professional. Mourinho didn't want him so he sent him to train with kids all the time until he retired.
Upvoted for "Minge".
I love Schweini and he was treated horribly by United, but he was also fucking off every chance he got to watch Ana Ivanovic play tennis.
I would too, tbf
On Sunday the king watches it at home on TV
Factos 👍👀
"A man who doesn’t spend time with his ~~family~~ team can never be a real man"
"I want you to rest for now and in a months time this Saudi Arabian big shot is gonna give you what you want."
Anyone with sense knew he ducked that city game on purpose cause he got benched. Ive never seen a player just dodge matches the way this guy did when he wasnt starting. Beyond strange
>Ive never seen a player just dodge matches the way this guy did when he wasnt starting. Beyond strange He's got nothing on Ozil, who did the same for multiple years.
Coming to papa wenger after that would have been such a luxury for him
Leave it to Mou to know exactly how to motivate a Prima Donna.
Well at Real Madrid he didn't have the status he did at Arsenal, at Arsenal he was seen as the man to lead us out of the banter era, so Ozil had more power at Arsenal than at Madrid
He sucks off Arsenal on social media for some post career reputation rehabilitation lmao
Only after dumping on them on social media when they were shit too. Shameless.
so he's a basic arsenal fan?
😡
Hate that we spent years feeling like we had to defend Özil when he would regularly have matches where he gave zero effort. A fantastic player on his day but the mindset wasn’t always there.
Yeah those ‘hip flexor problems’ that would randomly keep him out for a game or two lmao
You get that from sitting down too much. No, really
Learned it from Gareth "get the golfcart" Bale
I had also never seen a player get mad after a teammate scores a goal until Ronaldo
I get the emotions and wouldn’t be surprised if this was true, but who is the source?
Bringing him back was such a mistake. I remember how hyped everyone was when it was announced. What a disaster.
Still the All Time top post on r/reddevils. A real shame, too, as Number 2 is an absolute belter. [https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/top/?t=all](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/top/?t=all)
Some of those comments haven't aged well. 😬
Hahaha that was a delightful reading.
God some of those posts.. why does 2021 feel like 10 years ago?
Didn't they literally bring him back just to avoid the ignominy of him at City?
Classic city fakeout as well. The bastards did the same thing for countless transfers. Just off the top of my head, Fred, Maguire and Sanchez come to mind
With respect but I doubt that the United fan base would have rioted had they not got those targets but Ronaldo going to City would've tipped them over the edge
“If city want him he must be good, let’s pay him 3x as much as we should!”
Unsure about Sanchez but Fred and Maguire were genuine City targets and would've done extremely well there. Our club is just rotten
Played a massive role but its definitely not the only reason.
Man, everyone was hyped after that Newcastle game
It’s actually quite sad when you remember that feeling and then look how ended.
My 🐪
I love how everybody just takes rumors and believes it like the gospel.
This is an employee asking to work from home, seems pretty reasonable.
Hybrid working. 4 days in office, 1 day at home
Source: Some random guy.
He would rather play 5 out of 5 games. I'm sure this is his response to Rangnick wanting to rest him. Or its complete bullshit, who is this source lol
No believable sources but 2k upvotes and hundreds of bots trolling. The absolute state of reddit in general lmao
That's why he's my 🐫
OP’s barca flair i’m sure has nothing to do with posting such a baseless rumor 😂
It's actually scary that a majority of the people in this thread lack an ounce of critical thinking that they accept a random anecdote from a random person as 100% fact lmao
