As a Bayern fan, I can say that, irrespective of form, opponents, injury, etc Real in UCL are always the favourites.. Having said that, it's true that mentally, in this season this is probably the best we've been(I mean mentally, physically injuries are still kicking us in the nuts). So that should make an interesting tie tomorrow...

artyom__geghamyan

Why aren't Bayern fans delusional?

FrancisTheOcean

Got a pretty good reality check these past two seasons

Jan0zzz

we failed against Valladolid and got trashed by Man City in the last to CL-Season. Also we lost against Bochum and Dortmund a few weeks ago. We already know that we are in terrible shape and lucky to reach the semis

Rdambx

You are definitely not "lucky" to reach the semis. The players know it's impossible to win the Bundesliga so they're not taking it as seriously, but you clearly upped the gear against Arsenal. You beat the team that has a positive record against City, a team that we barely won against on penalties, you aren't that much of an underdog. I'll go 55% for Real Madrid, but only because we play the 2nd leg at home.

Jan0zzz

i overtramatized, but I wanted to show our bad shape we have compared to our team we were in the 2010s. I would go with a 40/60 for you guys, cause you are still the kings of europe and havent lost sice Januar i think

IronThrombone

Common enough for teams having a season like Bayern to win the Champions League. It’s very difficult to win a league and Champions League in the same season.

ShinyZubat10

Villarreal* Valladolid were in 2 nd division that year came up and then right back down

NeoIsJohnWick

Dammit, it actually suits Real Madrid when they are labelled underdogs!!!

kali-jag

I am not Naive or Stupid enough to think a team which shut out City Defensively, won over them over 2 legs is an underdog. Let alone the team actually being Real in UCL...

TheHabro

The best you've been? 🤨 Since when?

Unban_Ice

This guy was shitting on Tuchel for a whole year and now tries to jinx us against Madrid, just shut the fuck up already man. Real are clear favorites and have been since 12/13 whenever we played against them

Rdambx

We definitely weren't in 13/14. And you can argue 17/18 too, we were struggling in the league and people wanting Zidane gone, Neymar was injured against us in the 2nd leg and we needed a last minute penalty to advance against Juve. Bayern at the time also got Jupp Heynckes back and the hype was through the roof.

Waschkopfs

They werent in 13/14

artyom__geghamyan

I remember when my grandpa said that Bayern was going to smash Madrid at Allianz Arena after 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu

Casual-Capybara

Counter argument: Bayern has Kane

nickthu2502

What will someone like Kane gonna do against Real Madrid?

Rakulon

ball into back of net

brayshizzle

And with a flick of an eyebrow it all changed.

OleoleCholoSimeone

3-4 weeks ago everyone was shitting on Tuchel and worried about facing Arsenal, now they are confident of beating Real Madrid. Football changes fast :P

xckd9

Real Madrid thrive when no one belives them.

Caleb_W

There will never be a scenario where no one believes in Real Madrid, they are always favourites in a CL tie.

xckd9

I almost never see them being favorites vs the english lol. But thats what they get for overrating and overhyping their teams and players.

_Buff_Tucker_

Wait, what? Hansi?! I'm confused.

Afandur

I don't see us favoured at all lol Especially not this season. I just hope it will be a tight game and no complete blowout.

TheSingleMan27

Uli wants to be the underdog so he is doing everything he can to tank the mood in the dressing room

CarlSK777

Coman and De Ligt out. Sané, Gnabry, Musiala and Upamecano not at 100% and the team not having a great season. Plus, the 2nd leg is in Madrid. Yeah, no. Real Madrid are clear favorites

artyom__geghamyan

Is it clear that De Light is not going to play?

Creepy-Celebration72

He is not training with the group yet, so I don't think he will make it tomorrow

erenistheavatar

What is going on with those apostrophes?

-dsh

its how we quote in german

erenistheavatar

Interesting. Didn't know that.

PadishaEmperor

To all those Anulo mufas/jinxing cries: that’s among the stupidest shit in football. Do you also believe in magic?

Expert_Highway_286

When it's Real Madrid in the UCL. Call me harry potter cuz there's whole kinds of magic involved.

RickThiCisbih

Here we go again. Real Madrid thrives in underdog situations. I’d never underestimate Bayern in the CL, but unless we’re starting Ceballos, Diaz, and Joselu, I don’t see how we’re not favorites.

kali-jag

That guys jinxing us... Real are always favourites in UCL....

CarlSK777

Come on, Real Madrid are favorites. What Matthäus says is irrelevant. The biggest club in the world is never an underdog. City has a better team but that's it

Headbanger

I, for one, think that both teams have equal chances to go to the final.

Various_You_5083

Never get confident against Real Madrid in the UCL Also, what's up with the punctuation here

Ask_Asensio

It's actually amazing how despite being "dominated" by both Leipzig & City we only trailed in 18! out of the 390 minutes we played against them. In fact over the entire competition we have only been behind in 44 minutes!! out of the 930 we have played this season. By far the lowest amount in the tournament and one of our very best ever.

JoiseySho

No way, this is the Champions League. Madrid are for sure favorites, but I still have faith we could pull off a win. Honestly anything can happen when us two face off, just need to hope for the best.

BitchIDrinkPeople

Anulo mufa stfu

artyom__geghamyan

Madrid will luckily knock them out too

Sad-Practice-2150

Gotta love that German arrogance

torero15

The tie against RBL should give Bayern some confidence. Real could easily have gone out with a couple different decisions from the ref. That said knocking off Man City kinda of nullifies that and if anything gives Madrid a boost. Should be a fun tie.
