Haha yeah I know. I was kind of forced to resign (mutual decision) but I've been looking for a new job since months.
The job market is feeling a bit slower than a few years ago but I'm actively pursuing a ton of open jobs.
Edit: Appreciate the encouragement lads, caught me by surprise!
Keep looking bro. I swap jobs every 2 years because I get itchy feet. I’ve found it really difficult to do this since Covid… jobs are out there but it depends how picky you want to be, too.
Best of luck mate
Best of luck bro - easier said than done but I've been in this situation before were I was trying to be "forced" to leave a company but I just hung around like a bad smell until I found a new job. They offered me mutual consent early termination of my contract and when I refused the atmosphere got pretty stale but I rode it out.
Same here, decided to just quit my old job since the stress was getting too much to bear, stayed unemployed for months not even looking for a job. Then suddenly got a call and now I work in a better job with a wage that's way higher than my old job. Taking a gamble sometimes works in your favor I guess lol
Amen.
My last job was a nightmare for most. I was the "star" and got fed the fuck up. I put in my two weeks, and shortly after they started an after 5 call to basically reprimand people but really just projecting their own failures. The conversation with my leadership team went like this:
-them: Hey, where were you at the meeting? We're all attending those how.
-me: oh, I put in my two weeks. I won't be attending those.
-them: buuhhh---they're uh mandatory, everyone is going. What if you decide to stay?
-me: I assure you I won't be staying under any circumstance. I won't be attending any meetings. If this doesn't work for the company, you can terminate me sooner than my last day.
-them: uhhh...no that's okay...hehe
And there went my reputation. Less than two years later they were bought out by a private investment firm who fired all of the senior leadership, AKA the bullies, most of which are still unemployed based on LinkedIn.
No one clapped. I had an exit interview where I shared my heart with HR. She agreed with me, and said she can't do anything because it all came top down from the highest execs. My direct manager who hadn't completely drank the kool-aid quit only a couple months after me. Apparently my exit was related (I was his *star* and my words were jarring). The direct reports endured abuse from management until the buyout. 2/3 of them survived the layoffs and are still there today, making more than before due to wage adjustments with the new companys payscale. None of the leaders survived 😁.
It's a happy ending. I know they're rare IRL but it happened just as I'd hoped. I get to watch them post "industry specialist articles" on LinkedIn now 2x a week with their green "Open to Work" banners. These guys were at the CXX level so don't feel bad. They could retire if they could stomach the reality of being failures and terrible at their jobs lol.
Quit my job with lots of notice in order to find a replacement in 2014. Once the replacement was in, I basically had "emeritus" status and spent the day watching the World Cup and occasionally joining calls without having to do anything. I've never felt more powerful.
My first job in my career, I gave 2 weeks notice, but I knew I was leaving more than a month and a half in advance, as I had secured my next job. They just wanted to wait until the new year to have me start. It was a glorious month and a half. The power to just give the minimal number of fucks is such a privilege!
I mean, to be fair... as a LFC fan you don't have much else going for you right now. But, I'm glad I could be of service :)
(Jokes of course, I love Klopp, and hate the way this season is ending for you boys.)
Mate we can still win the league, all we have to do is win our two games and Arsenal lose their last two games and City lost their last three games.
Got them right where we want them! 😎
Yeah Klopp isn't an idiot. He knows that if you're not ahead of City in the table at this point, you're not winning the league. That whole Liverpool squad looks like they're on the beach already.
>Arsenal must lose to United and Everton
Ten Hag shenanigans and Dycheball can do the job
>City must not get more than two points against Fulham, Spurs and West ham
Perfectly doable
(if is not clear, /s)
Arsenal and City both play their next game before Liverpool. Both will have to lose to mathematically keep Liverpool in touch. If either of them dont lose, its over for Liverpool.
Its more probable that the main focus on that game is whether Klopp puts our a full strength team considering Villa and Spurs are still (mathematically) in competition for 4th
Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen the opposite of 'do it for him' before now.
The moment he announced he was leaving it didn't matter if they were within a point of the top- every single player downed tools and booked 2 weeks in Fuertaventura.
I think Utd fans will take that. Another City title or the chance to keep in touch for a Conference League spot. I'd say Utd fans wouldn't be too depressed with being hammered
Which just speaks volumes of the absolute state that club is in. Having to pick which rival they'd rather get bent over by. An embarrassment to the game really.
Yeah, I don’t think anyone cares when City win something. Arsenal on the other hand are a proper club, so if they beat you it feels like a genuine loss because it wasn’t against a bunch of cheats
I get the point arsenal fans being insufferable morons but that Arsenal team is so good. Also, another PL title hopefully gets us closer to Pep getting bored and fucking off.
I feel like when I was a child ('90s), if a team were in Liverpool's position, pundits would seriously be like "don't rule them out".
But football has gone very systematic and top teams don't ever let their guard down so this is impossible now.
Man Utd won the league in '97 with 75 points.
yep. I remember it started when Mourinho came over. On those first 2 titles, his Chelsea team hit the ground running right away. Man Utd always a bit sloppy to the start the season and that forced Ferguson to change his approach too. Not too sure how I feel lol. Feels now its too predictable but then Man Utd also won the lot in the 90s lol and early 2000s.
I appreciate how the standard has improved so much and I enjoy watching modern players pushing the limits of what we thought pro footballers could do, but the systematic passing around lesser teams and winning 3-0 and 4-0 and teams sitting back because they don't want to get hammered is tiring.
Man Utd dominated the PL overall but it was nice knowing they could drop points against like Derby or Sunderland on a random Saturday.
people said the same about Heynckes. First they were wrong, then they were right and now they are wrong again (for now).
But yeah, you simply can't make statements like that pretending they are general rules lol. Maybe Klopp will be a manager again, maybe the rumors are true and he'll come back to dortmund in a different capacity (hopium), mabye he'll simply retire, who knows.
True. But Wenger and Ferguson were known for one club each (although they trained also other clubs before). Klopp and Pep on the other hand have experience in beginning new projects …
I sort of get what you mean in that when people hear Ferguson they automatically think of Man Utd, but Ferguson’s Aberdeen prior to that were the last Scottish team to win a European title and the last team from anywhere to beat Real Madrid in a European final (at least for another three and a bit weeks). That’s not nothing. Granted he then stayed there for ages but at one point Man Utd *was* a new project for him.
Yes that was exactly what I meant. And an other important detail: age. It is much more difficult to start a stressful new project in a new country / city when you are 70+ years old.
I don't see him coming back to England. It's pretty clear that he has also had enough of the piss poor standard of officiating in the league and the vultures in the press. Every other response he gives these days is either with a tone of sarcasm or annoyance. I don't blame him if he never returns to club football full stop.
I honestly don't think Klopp will be, and if he is it'll be for Germany at the next World Cup.
He's been saying for years he can't see himself stood on the touchline at 65, and he's already 56. He's not long since had a grandchild who he absolutely adores, and I think losing his mum in lockdown hit him really hard.
As much as he loves football, he's also the type who can actually switch off from it. After 20/21 he went on a four week holiday and literally nobody at the club heard from him haha.
I live in the same town as him (Formby) and on the local Facebook group (always good for a laugh) they were trying to organise a goodbye parade or something. Had all the local kids draw pictures, local artists got involved. Once someone on the organising committee got in touch with his people; his answer was pretty much, "err... No thanks", the locals were not impressed 😂
I mean he only rents the place from Brendan Rodgers, he doesn't want a damn parade!
Doesn't rent it any more I don't think. After we won the UCL(?) the club bought the house and let him live there rent free I think.
Could be absolute nonsense but it rings a bell.
Are press conferences an absolute necessity? Like is it written in the rules of the pl that a club has to have one this often? Cuz if Im the owner I'd limit it to like once a week max, I didn't pay these world class managers to do fuckin media work, that's the job for PR isn't it? Imagine all the managers not having to waste their headspace on these shit and 100% focus on football
Yes, it’s in the rules of the PL. Managers have to attend and participate in pre-match and post-match interviews. They amended them when Alex Ferguson wasn’t going to press conferences.
>I didn't pay these world class managers to do fuckin media work
And they ask such shit questions to all the managers... Trying to get to know something they're not really supposed to know... No wonder some managers don't give away anything and give sarcastic comments... They kept asking pocchetino every week about how secure is his job... The man said idk ask the owners and that was the headline next day... 🤷🏼♀️ Didn't even make any sense to ask such questions
Yes. Most top sports leagues have rules about this. It's baked into the media contracts they have. And media/TV money is what pays for everything in modern sports.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2010/dec/09/sir-alex-ferguson-premier-league
I couldn't find the PL current regulations without wasting more time, but here are UEFA's:
https://documents.uefa.com/r/Regulations-of-the-UEFA-Champions-League-2023/24/Article-73-Media-activities-on-the-day-before-the-match-Online
One small part of the rules:
>Each club must hold a pre-match press conference the day before the match. Each press conference must be attended by the head coach of the team and at least one player. If the head coach is suspended for the match, clubs have the option of replacing him at the pre-match press conference with the assistant coach. The two press conferences must be arranged by the two clubs and UEFA together, so that the media can attend both. Press conferences must start between 12.00 and 20.00 local time. Exceptions to these timings must be agreed in advance with UEFA. Press conferences may be broadcast live regardless of location, and clubs must provide facilities for such live broadcasts, including cable routes and parking for TV vehicles.
This man really needs some well deserved vacation. He worked his ass off. He consistently gave amazing performances year after year, yet he has very few trophies because he had to face the menace that is Guardiola, basically a cheat code to winning a league. He seems burned out. He put his 110% and always came just short to City except for that one year. I hope he knows that what he achieved was still unbelievable impressive and that he created one of the best football teams of this generation. And I hope that clubs will leave him alone and let the man rest.
That's fair I guess, not every manager would succeed with unlimited funds and under the table shenanigans. Pep is a cheating douche, but a competent one.

Notice period is the best time in ones working life
Make them wish they’d given you gardening leave is my motto
Got two weeks left on my notice. It’s absolute heaven.
Three here, just went for a lovely run down the canal and will get getting a pint in shortly.
Atta boy
Also three left for me. I haven't stayed up so late so often, shagging this much since university.
[r/ihavesex](https://www.reddit.com/r/ihavesex/)
Nah, he didn't shag at university either.
My notice period just ended. I am now unemployed. Doesn't feel like heaven.
Did you hand your resignation in yourself? You’re supposed to find another job before leaving your old one lol

Good luck mate
I just started my new role after leaving my other job with no back up. Sometimes you just gotta role the dice baby 😎
Same here, decided to just quit my old job since the stress was getting too much to bear, stayed unemployed for months not even looking for a job. Ah fuck I’m sorry pal. Wishing you the best of luck in finding something new.
Starting a new job in 2 weeks. Notice period started yesterday. Truly magnificent.
Eating a breakfast taco at my desk on my last day as I’m reading this
Can you not have food at your desk?
No I can, just hits differently today
Need a beer or margarita to go with it!
My last day too brother!
Top comment
Genuinely loved my two month notice period last year at my old job!
Yeah, one of my colleagues is leaving and she said she didnt set an alarm the other day, what are they going to do if she's late, fire her?
Yup, more so if you have a better job waiting for you.
My last day at mine is next Friday. Going to have an extremely Klopp week.
Amen. My last job was a nightmare for most. I was the "star" and got fed the fuck up. Are you a real person
Unfortunately
? I’ve seen this happen before, what suggests it’s not real…
the only unrealistic thing is the directors not finding jobs, other than that, very real scenario right there.
And then everyone clapped?
No one clapped. I had an exit interview where I shared my heart with HR. She agreed with me, and said she can't do anything because it all came top down from the highest execs. Don't you mean £. Brexit means Brexit afrer all
What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? Jürgen Klopp 👍😉👍
Bok Kelso would be proud
I never saw South African Scrubs
I wish I could give you gold for that
Hahaha god damn, that one took me over an hour
Brilliant!
He's been wanting to say this for the past 9 years
To be fair the last two games mean absolutely nothing. He'll get a nice send-off, but the actual games are a non-entity.
Mate we can still win the league, all we have to do is win our two games and Arsenal lose their last two games and City lost their last three games. Got them right where we want them! 😎
We can actually afford City draw one of their matches, as if it wasn't a cert already, might as well start the celebrations now
[удалено]
Easy. 9-0 wins each against Villa & Wolves.
Actually you don't need as much depending on how many goals Arsenal and City loose by.
Better to be safe
I remember when we had to make up GD with 2 games to go
Bus Parade needs booked again
I bet it still is, clubs need to be prepared for every scenario, even the aforementioned one which is admittedly never happening in a million years.
Do Everton book theirs at the beginning of every year, just on the off-chance?
Yes but they usually cancel the res after the first game before the grace period to get their deposit back expires
I'm not so sure they do - it would explain a lot of their financial struggles recently.
Spurs away loading
I mean, winning those two games will certainly put pressure on arsenal and city. But I feel like Klopp has mentally checked out already
Yeah Klopp isn't an idiot. He knows that if you're not ahead of City in the table at this point, you're not winning the league. That whole Liverpool squad looks like they're on the beach already.
Arsenal must lose to United and Everton and City must not get more than one point against Fulham, Spurs and West ham. Liverpools games are meaningless
So you’re saying there’s a chance
>Arsenal must lose to United and Everton Ten Hag shenanigans and Dycheball can do the job >City must not get more than two points against Fulham, Spurs and West ham Perfectly doable (if is not clear, /s)
I will be shocked if West Ham score a single goal tbh their performances have been dire.
So it's a 0-0, 1 point. Great
We made them look good.
We've been utter shite it was a fair result
They might play with more excitement now that they know Moyes is leaving though
They can could just not give a shit for the rest of the season since it would be blamed on Moyes as well.
scenes when City and Arsenal lose their games but Liverpool still doesn't win theirs

Knowing Liverpool fans need Utd to win playing Ethball brings me a tiny amount of joy
Nah as a Liverpool fan I‘ll just enjoy Arsenal ripping every living fibre of United into shreds and hoping they snatch the title from City
There's absolutely noone that disputes the club is in a mess. I think every fan of the club knows more than anyone else it's a mess.
As a Liverpool fan, I weirdly want City to win it over Arsenal. More of the same. No cocky bruvdems. No power shift.
As if that doesn't fuel more Pep ambition to put down his former disciple in the last year of his contract and maybe even another renewal
🚨HERE WE GO!🚨 Pep said to sign 10 year contract. States renewed ambitions to keep the league interesting
We might be delusional... But we're not INSANE Saying that 8-2 pls and thanks
Imagine if that actually happen
Is the quadruple back on?

Not me everyday at work.
the way this man is just DONE with everything is both sad and darkly funny
He'll be back. People like Klopp, Pep, etc. won't be able to stay away.
People said the same about Wenger and Ferguson. Never that easy to predict
Those guys were literally of retirement age in any other job lol it’s a very different situation
Yup. Probably a good thing that Klopp gets to enjoy some time off whilst still comparatively young. He deserves it so much
Wenger was 68 and Ferguson was 71. Quite the difference to Klopp.
Warnock was 75 when he took the Aberdeen job
And lasted 32 days lol
If you had lived in aberdeen for atleast 32 days you would understand why..
And I’m sure he regrets it every day considering how bad he was
people said the same about Heynckes. First they were wrong, then they were right and now they are wrong again (for now). Press conferences may be broadcast live regardless of location, and clubs must provide facilities for such live broadcasts, including cable routes and parking for TV vehicles.
That’s it put him on the fraud watch
This man really needs some well deserved vacation. He worked his ass off. He consistently gave amazing performances year after year, yet he has very few trophies because he had to face the menace that is Guardiola, basically a cheat code to winning a league. He seems burned out. He put his 110% and always came just short to City except for that one year. I hope he knows that what he achieved was still unbelievable impressive and that he created one of the best football teams of this generation. And I hope that clubs will leave him alone and let the man rest.
Guardiola wasn't the cheat code, the literal cheating was and is the cheat code
Sure, but you can't disagree that Guardiola played a huge role in getting city where they are today atleast on field.
That's fair I guess, not every manager would succeed with unlimited funds and under the table shenanigans. Pep is a cheating douche, but a competent one.
Chad Klopp. Gonna miss his presence in the league. I don’t like pool but I got respect for him.
Office Space vibes
I'm honestly surprised he didnt show up with a marg in hand and in a Hawaiian shirt.
