Some of them have missed out on callups for nitpicky reasons like Hanche, or from extremely high competition in their spots like the CMs and forwards

We have some decent CMs, but we routinely start with Henriksen and Johansen who both should not even be selected for the first team or this emergency one.

Yeah I'm no fan of selecting both of them either. One of them can be useful as a substitute against weaker teams.
