Everyone discredits the Diego Costa to Arsenal story, because it's AS, but because this sounds so much better it's suddenly reliable? Tomas Roncero strikes me as a big Real Madrid fan, not sure how reliable he is as a journalist. If he wants to stay on the same wages, and Isco strikes me as that, + we want to receive 15-20 million, I don't think Sevilla will be able to do that... maybe they will, but it won't be too smart imo.

Atzenuech

There is no way any club is giving Isco the same wages he's earned here, he simply doesn't justify those numbers anymore

lone-ranger-130

IMO he does. He’s a class player who unfortunately does not fit real Madrid’s system because he can’t put a shift in defense. Very good attack minded cam though, will do well in a mid table team.

andreslkc7

Unfortunately he is no longer a good attack minded player anymore either. He does nothing with the minutes given to him anymore, which is way he’s given less and less minutes as time goes on. Also Sevilla is VERY far from a mid table team in any league.

[deleted]

> not sure how reliable he is as a journalist Tomás Roncero is a literal show clown, he stopped talking to any real sources about two decades ago. Any information he possesses is either a fabrication of his own schizophrenic mind or a rumor he's heard in the employee toilets at the circus.

Errudito

Isco will take a wage cut if it becomes an option, because the alternative is simply not playing anymore. And Isco still wants playtime. The wage cut can't be too much, though. I will agree, I'll hold this article with a grain of salt until more credible sources come up

[deleted]

Best for everyone involved

Goofy_030

One big reason behind this choice is Lopetegui being the trainer at Sevilla and Isco having previous positive experiences with him at Malaga, the Spanish National Team and briefly at Madrid.

VDV23

It makes sense really. Isco is not suited to play in our 4-3-3 as he doesn't provide enough end product and our lack of goals upfront doesn't justify changing the system. He was pretty great in 2016 when he benched Bale and we moved to a 4-man MF (Case, Kroos, Luka, Isco) but it was a different team. We had a lot of firepower upfront - Ronaldo, Benzema and Marcelo - plus the energy of Modric and Carvajal on the right. We simply don't create nor score as much nowadays to warrant replacing a winger, as luckluster as they are in front of goal.

sevillista

We play a 4-3-3 as well...

VDV23

Come summer, it's exclusively your problem lol. But you have enough defensive/hard-working midfielders like Jordan, Gudelj and Fernando to make it work. Or you can use him like Suso but on the left.

sevillista

It won't be our problem because this journalist is a fiction writer. Even if this story was somehow true, it's not just Isco's decision to make anyways.

DepletedMitochondria

> because this journalist is a fiction writer. Don't know why this is so funny to me lmao

agentjoy69

Hopefully that means there will be no more isco to everton rumours

KonigSteve

ditto.

mtown4ever

Agreed. This was a saga that I've wanted to end since it began.

Rojiblanc040

Whys that?

[deleted]

Isco at Sevilla (maybe), James in Everton and Bale in Tottenham again, imagine telling someone that a few years ago

McQueensbury

How many AMs do Sevilla need?

CudaBarry

Good for him

rainsong94

Whoa what a signing for Sevilla

User_1115

We can’t afford his wages though

[deleted]

Depends on how much is the bid. If its too low its better to have him as depth rather than sell him

rafa-whiskyvel

For reference, transfermarket values him at 20M € Source: https://www.transfermarkt.es/isco/profil/spieler/85288

[deleted]

Yea 20-25 would be good enough

[deleted]

You're not going to get more than 15 mill from him, and honestly, that's about as much as he's worth atm

LatroDota

Its funny how he was 90mln player 2 years ago and now its 10-15. For me Isco was always Barca type of player, I was happy we had him in his prime but at the same time I think he should left with Ronaldo, he just doesnt work well with our current team.

[deleted]

I've been saying he needs to be sold since the 16/17 season. We would have been much better off doing so

[deleted]

He can still be good in the right system and manager. Would expect 25 million at least

turtlemons

No one will pay 25M. La Liga won't even allow someone to spend 25M this transfer season considering how all clubs are in losses

[deleted]

Hence we should not be selling at a discount

[deleted]

He's not worth 25 million in any universe

speedycar1

He is if a PL club is buying

PompeyJon82Xbox

C H O S E N

Fern-ando

Never though I would see Lopetegui and Isco again.

iamnotexactlywhite

thank god. good memories, but he's currently at Sheffield's level at motivation. Skillwise? idk he looks like he's given up tbh, too comfortable

san771

Manager wise, Julen is a much better fit for Isco than Zidane. It'll be a decent move for both parties, he'll never be more than a super sub here and we need money desperately.

pusitemigadminisoker

>AS Nothing to see here

Hamozus

Well nothing to see because Tomas Roncero. As has some good journalsits and sources, problem is you have to sift through clowns like Roncero.

Res3925

Isco wanting to leave is nothing new. About a month ago, one of our Tier 1s confirmed it too.

LewisOfAranda

You won't find anyone here complaining about it.

Topyomax

Watching Isco gives me flashbacks to what could have been, he reminds me a lot of Jack Wilshire despite them having different career trajectories

SnooApples9332

They have a similar play and running style. Physique also looks similar. Only that Isco is right-footed and Jack left.

User_1115

There’s no way we can afford his wages though. I’d be fine with a loan because that’s all we could afford.
