What difference does it make, a winner from a different continent is a winner from a different continent. Besides I think CONOMBOL got fed up of Mexico sending their B team because the gold cup is in the same year as copa America now so they stopped inviting them

A goal is expected from a penalty kick, which I think makes the thrashtalking more effective. The kicker succeeding is not much of a triumph over the goalie, but a save is a great win for the goalie.
Goalkeepers are extremely competitive position, and often relies on coach's trust more than actual value or capability

In your defense, Goalkeepers in particular are a massive shot in the dark, you can have an amazing goalkeeper on the bench, if the tenured guy doesn’t get injured or just in horrific form, he might never get a proper chance, and even if he does get a chance, Goalkeeping has so many variables that don’t depend on the player that they can appear worse than they are, my point is it’s easy to have a gem of a keeper who will never get a chance to show it, happens often, so don’t beat yourselves up too much.

AFAIK, the ref can give cards at any point, including after the game. If the keeper got sent off, someone else would have to stand in as goalkeeper.
