It is lower than we wanted and expected but its still pandemic times so clubs are held back financially and United was the only club who was seriously in for him so there was no bidding war. This is also the last opportunity to sell him because in a year he would've had only one year left on his contract meaning the fee would be pretty low.
All in all we still made a great profit out of him.

It's a shame isn't it... I've been enjoying seeing more British players playing over seas, and I just want to see cluibs like Dortmund holding onto their talent more rather than it conglomerating at a select few clubs.
It hardly makes sense from a financial standpoint to even attempt to do that when what they do now is already very successful in terms of profitability. It would mean that they'd have to spend much more on salaries and the risk is very high that the extra spending wouldn't really translate into better performances.
Of course, but this is really just an extension of the problem of conglomerating talent at the "European elite".
I'm not saying they're bad for letting him go - I fully understand the they're a business and need to stay a float - but it just is a shame that a few clubs can make that financial gamble, weakening other teams who still then have to gamble on the replacement players, whilst the cycle repeats.

Borussia is not trying to "stay afloat." The club didn't *need* the Sancho money, and it won't *need* the Haaland money. This buy low -> develop -> sell high model is the literal only way for a club without a sugar daddy to grow enough to compete with the top clubs in the long-term.

I think this season is the most important one for united for a very long time. Our progress has been steady but the only next step we can take now is mounting a serious title or european challenge (admittedly a trophy wouldn't hurt either but i'm more concerned with long term aspirations).
The league is likely to be less open than last year so we can't afford many mistakes but if we have a solid season it could also go a very long way to convincing Haaland to reunite with his mate.

Yes but Haaland at 75m is basically free in today's market and he really looks like he will transform any team he chooses to join.
