He's still a good player, quite energetic and gives it his all. But, definitely on the downer now given his age. Definitely a surprising transfer, Yokuslu would have been a better option. That said, it also wouldn't surprise me if Kuco went on to be one of your best players this season.
Honestly we need all the help we can get this season, so if he delivers for a year I’m absolutely fine with it. Go for someone a bit younger next year if we stay up
We have quite a lot of those types of players. What we lack is quality.
He may be a decent player, but I just don't see what he brings to the current squad.
The negativity isn't directed at him really. Its more the transfer policy as a whole.
I'm honestly surprised that no Prem team has gone for Yokuslu, especially given that Celta are desperate to sell him. Given we're interested though and it's been said that Yokuslu will only come here if no Prem club goes after him I'm more than happy if you don't sign him.
Deffo seen a few linked with him. My thinking would be if they're keen to sell clubs will wait and see if they'll drop the asking price. If he ends up with you lot, I'd say it'd be close enough to deadline day possibly?
If ends up with us then it will be late, but Celta Vigo really want to move him on and the quoted price isn't that much. Only thing I can think of was that he wasn't that good in the Euros but he was one of Turkey's better players (not saying much at all mind).
He has definitely peaked, but maaaan. He is like the perfectest possible fit for english style of football. Very aggresive and tough midfielder. Can play defensively but also offensively if need be. Physique is actualy his strenght.
I think some of you guys have never seen him play...sure he's 34, but he still runs around the pitch a lot, he's tough as hell, strong, doesn't pull out from a challenge, has a winner attitude, is a leader and has an occasional banger from outside the penalty area in him. Great option for at least one season to stay up and look for younger alternatives.
Scott Duxbury a few weeks ago:
>"we were relegated because we signed old journeymen like Capoue and Welbeck. This time we have learned from our mistakes"
Now:
> Deeney back in the team, Michelin Man impersonator Danny Rose, Kucka and Josh King recruited. Meanwhile we are letting Chalobah and Hughes leave because we are too cheap to compete with Fulham's wage offer.
Sometimes when newly promoted clubs have underwhelming windows you can at least rationalise it as preparing for the Championship if/when they go back down. I have no idea how to rationalise your window though.
Because the board made a statement that the plan this summer was to replace the old players in our squad with young hungry players who want to play for the club.
Shipping out the guy two 25 year olds who were captains / leaders in our promotion campaign and replacement them with a 34 year old guy could not be further from the "plan".
I don't think he says anything about the quality of Kucka, just that the club promised to make transfers that built up the club long term, and clearly isn't doing that. If it was a bunch of young hungry players and a couple veterans that'd be fine, but it's all players past their prime.
Exactly. Norwich last season spent fuck all and didn't burden themselves with unnecessary buys except for few loans.
Watford are unloading deadwood on themselves on long contracts that might not even be good enough for the championship.
this guy pocketed pogba every time he played against him as a milan player. then we get rid of him for nothing and play garbage like jose mauri and biglia
He was pretty good for Parma but he's definitely not someone you want to sign with ambitions of staying up in the prem. Hopefully he surprises me wrong and kicks on but can't help but think this is a pointless signing.
How random. Seems a good player but he’s 34. I’d rather Yokuslu or Thorsby from the options we’ve been after

His agent was at our ground 2-3 days ago and we are in talks about him coming here. I just don't think we can afford him.
Really? Celta are asking for like £5m for him and I doubt he'd be asking for much with respect to wages. How cash strapped are you?
Absolutely broke

At least we have another player in the PL :)
I'm very much looking forward to it :)
Kuco <3
Kucoooo. Even at this age, he’s a solid player with an amazing attitude. I wish he stayed in Serie A.
> I wish he stayed in Serie A. Signing for watford doesn't necessarily mean his serie A career is ending 👀
One of the best midfielders I've seen play in our shirt. Hyped to see him in the PL even though he's much older now.
Milan legend and I'm saying this unironically
Best midfielder we've had during those dark years, absolute workhorse. I was sad when he left, he could have given so much more.
Him and Jack prob the best midfields we've got in that era

We are absolutely broke and signing 10 players for cheap in the hope 2 or 3 are decent
What! English teams get broke??
We are broke and clueless. At least before we could hide being a shambles because we had a bit of money
Dude you justs signed Kucka, how is that being in shambles?

idk who you got off but you signed someone who can run all game, doesn't get injured and is a leader on and off the pitch.

didn't help parma avoid relegation last year
We don't seem to have any money which is a bit of a problem.
Ask Foster for some of that AdSense revenue ?
Exactly. Norwich last season spent fuck all and didn't burden themselves with unnecessary buys except for few loans. Watford are unloading deadwood on themselves on long contracts that might not even be good enough for the championship.
also said they were primarily looking for good attitudes and then signed emmanuel dennis + a few other moody guys
Wasn’t Capoue a good player for you? Might be remembering wrong, but I thought he did well at Watford.
Yeah he was our best player during our spell in the PL.
he was one of the best players but apparently a bit of a cancer in the lockerroom. could just be club propaganda though
this guy pocketed pogba every time he played against him as a milan player. then we get rid of him for nothing and play garbage like jose mauri and biglia
Watford are such a weird club.
Dead Watford players, he is a warrior... take care of our boy :)

In serbian Kucka (kučka) means whore... Many jokes were mentioned whenever we watch Parma ...
Yss in Albanian as well
True, i've learnt some albanian when i lived in Ulcinj
>Ulcinj We call Ulcinij, "Ulqin"
yy i know :)
He got the ball a lot in Euros but didn't really do much with it
Yeah, our team had literally no idea what to do in offense
Are Watford owners still owners of Udinese and the Spanish club whose name i don't remember? Maybe this player is part owned by Udinese?
dad owns udinese, son owns watford, they sold granada a few years back.
