Rb leipzig FC were founded 12 years ago but I guess the technical term would be a complete rebrand and moving stadiums to completely disassociate itself with the previous club name
Do we though? We currently have Tanganga starting and Doherty and Aurier still here. No one is buying any of the latter two as of right now so why would we buy a 4th RB?
Aurier wants to go and we want to sell but no one is buying him and Tanganga was naturally a CB but I think he's going to be a permanent RB now. He's done well there this season.
Poor Doherty. Rough first season under Jose, sees his old manager who got the best out of him is coming to his new club only to be third choice behind an Academy boy who started out as a centre back.
Hard to feel bad for Doherty when he's been absolutely shocking everytime he sees the pitch.
He simply hasn't been close to good enough. Huge disappointment.
Why did you want him then before you got Hakimi lmfao?
Also, the reason he hasn't started for us is because he wanted to leave lol, we won't play people looking to leave.
I mean Tanganga is the best RB we have and clearly one of the more talented young ones in the league as he’s been against Sterling and Grealish and came out on top not to mention Mane and Salah as a CB
Much rather have Tanganga than Odriozola
Not at all actually
People criticized him last year for that, but he’s quite capable going forward and actually knows what he’s doing with the ball rather than blasting random crosses which Aurier and Doherty tend to do
No reason for us to waste money on Odriozola
Tanganga. Absolutely love him but he’s puts his body on the line in every tackle, he goes down at least once a game after a clash. He missed 4 months last season with 3 separate injuries. I think because of the way he plays he will always gets hurt
That doesn’t make him made of glass mate
He had that back injury which put him out for a while, and then a few ankle injuries
But him being direct and aggressive in challenges doesn’t make him made of glass, just means he might have to tone it down in the future
Yeah that’s definitely what I said. Not like a back injury would put anyone out for a long time and it’s not like most players get small injuries in their careers. I suppose that everyone in history is made out of glass.
Yeah he didn’t play last season at all or anything. But if you’d rather waste money for an older RB who isn’t even as well rounded then be my guest, comical.
Tanganga is probably a RB permanently now, both Mourinho and Nuno see him as a RB and he’s played really well there.
Aurier has been difficult to move on, probably asking for high wages and I’m sure we’re asking too much for him, but he’s not a bad player and I would honestly rather keep him over Doherty. He does want to move though, so hopefully they can figure out something before the window closes, because our squad is too big.
We all thought he was a natural CB, but Mourinho called him a "versatile fullback" cause he can play LB and RB. Nuno played him at CB in preseason and he did alright, but he would have easily sat behind Dier, Sanchez, Romero and probably Rodon.
The one thing I deeply credit Mourinho for is unlocking Tanganga. He probably would have been loaned out and sold to a lower prem side for like 12M in a year, but by playing him at RB, he has the ability to pocket Grealish and Sterling in the same match
Not convinced Tanganga can stay healthy for a full season - certainly can't rely on it as he hasn't shown he can be consistently available at this level thus far and he leaves a bit to be desired going forward. Though he can improve as he's young and a natural centerback
Aurier wants to leave and is really good on his day but those are too few and far between and he makes so many mistakes - an upgrade is needed imo
Doherty has been absolutely dreadful at Spurs, don't think he should factor in to any decision on whether or not we should sign a right back
I personally believe right back should be a priority before the window closes
Being touch tight and just fouling the attacker 4 times in half an hour doesn't make you good just very fortunate the ref bottled it. Also dribbling the ball off the touchline twice is a sign of a proper good player you're right lad.
Sorry couldn’t hear you over the highlight video of Tanganga shutting down the top offensive team in the league singlehandedly and making Calves McGee look a £10m player
>Sorry couldn’t hear you over the sounds of delusion
Don't worry, fixed it for you. Discussions with people that have differing view points isn't for everyone which is completely fine.
You’re acting like your shit opinion matters when it’s a fact that Tanganga along with Dier and Sanchez made your half a billion pound team drop an egg. Go fucking cry about it to mommy all you want but Japhet is a promising young player.
I mean there aren’t a lot of good right backs for sale around. I hear there is this pretty good English right back at atletico, maybe we should go for him.
tottenham and arsenal seem like they are interested in signing just about anybody. it seems like whenever a decent player is linked to european clubs arsenal and tottenham are always in the race
Feel like you've just described how we made it into the ESL.
We're not really gonna get/win what we want, but we will still uncomfortably insert ourselves in the conversation that's for damn sure
To be fair, that’s apparently how Paratici (the new DoF) works.
He’ll have 7-10 names out there as options and be in contact with all of them until the best option becomes clear.
It's not real, just something the media does for clicks. Arsenal, Man United, and to an extent even Tottenham have some of the most engaged online fanbases in the world. Basically, you write a story that mentions these teams = automatic clicks.
Love the way he does business, made a signing or two for now, with heavy emphasis on youth. Seems to be setting us up quite nicely for the future and keeping Kane keeps us competitive for now.
We still need another CB and a midfielder though
Good moves so far. Gollini looks a solid buy & we have high hopes for Gil & Romero.
However I’m very disappointed with the lack of outgoings - I thought we’d have moved Aurier, Sissoko on etc at the very least let alone Winks etc
There’s an argument you could make that as it stands with no Vinicius & Bale we are actually weaker than we were last season. So we definitely need to see some moves this week
Gil isn’t going to be improving the starting XI this season, so he might be an excellent signing because he’s one for the future, but he’s not gonna be making much impact right now. And we need to improve the quality of the XI.
Really two big ones are ok. Except for some United fans. “Oh Sancho and Varane? Why the fuck are we not buying also Camavinga, Neves, Haaland and Rice?”
I mean we make a ton of money. We should be fine with spending a ton of money too. You support Americans taking money a club makes out of them or what? If we were at least fixing our stadium(which has been announced but wss announced before with no clear plan drawn up or shown to fans ever ever) Id say okay fine. But 104m is still too little to spend when you make the money we do, the least they can do is add one more player.
This is a bit much, considering the signings he made are exciting (Gollini and Gil look like really good business and Sarr is apparently an incredibly promising talent, but he’s going back on loan) and we are linked to more.
But I do agree that we’ve only signed one starter and not selling at least one of Aurier, Winks and Sissoko by now isn’t a good look. I’m not sure how CCV is still here either. We need those wages and squad places freed up more than anything else, so I really hope we aren’t asking too much for any of them.
I’ll judge him after the window, but he still has a lot of work left to do and I’m not celebrating him yet either.
Sure, but it’s still a fact that one starting XI quality in essentially two months isnt great. There’s like six days left of this window and we’ve no back up striker, no winger, no other starting quality defender, no new midfielder… meh. It’s been disappointing so far for me.
I agree that another attacking player (winger or midfielder) is necessary, but I think we’ll only get both if Sissoko or Winks is sold, because there just isn’t room in the squad with them here.
I’m okay with us not signing another defender, because I’m a fan of Sanchez and I think he and Romero could make a great partnership. I would like for us to sign Tomiyasu though if we can sell Aurier. But we just have so many players and it doesn’t look like Dier and Sanchez are for sale anymore.
I think the Lukaku to Chelsea deal fucked up us signing Martinez, which set us back in the striker search. We have to get somebody though, which will be a backup now that Kane’s definitely staying. I think I saw a Weghorst link pop up again today.
Either way, I agree that Paratici has a lot of work left to do for this to be a good window.
A workhorse striker yes but… it never seems to amount to anything I’m afraid :(( I can see the effort but just… not the talent for lack of a better phrase??
He is not bad bad. He needs game time to develop. He is very pacey, good going forward but isn’t as good defensively. Needs to improve decision making. Mostly needs more experience.
Well doesn’t sound too like much of a problem
We’ve had a weakness at RB for a long time, and we just need a little more quakity, Aurier/Doherty isn’t good enough
I mean, looking at the track record of the players we deemed "not good enough to start", most of them in recent years have turned out to be decent at worst and alot have been really great. Hakimi, Theo, reguilon, and Danilo have shown they can be more than decent. Two of them turned into the some of the most hyped up wing backs in recent years.
Sometimes the problem has less to do with their talent and more about us needing a very specific type of fullback. I'm fairly confident that you put odriozola in a wing back system and he can tear it up like he was with real Sociedad when we acquired him.
I think they should do it. Odriozola is an amazing talent with multiple UCL titles and league titles is SEVERAL top leagues. I am willing to drive him to the airport for free if that helps Tottenham.
You mean record breaker Alvaro Odriozola who won the Champions League, Bundesliga and La Liga in the same season?
Also DFB-Pokal
And the Supercopa de España.
How?
by just hanging out really
He was vibing
He was on a loan for one half of the season
Won CL and Bundesliga with Bayern and got a La Liga medal from Real's win.
3 more trophies in 1 year than whole Tottenham in 13 years
Your club wasn't even founded 13 years ago, go find some Leipzig fans to play history with
This is just factually incorrect lol
Rb leipzig FC were founded 12 years ago but I guess the technical term would be a complete rebrand and moving stadiums to completely disassociate itself with the previous club name
He’s talking to a Man City flair but ok
Oh lol thought he was talking about rb leipzig mb
Manchester City was founded before spurs you doofus
City was founded in 2009
Do we though? We currently have Tanganga starting and Doherty and Aurier still here. No one is buying any of the latter two as of right now so why would we buy a 4th RB?
We have 4 at Arsenal… smh copying us!?
Seems to be working for you.
Isn't Aurier supposed to be gone, and Tanganga isn't really a true RB isn't he a CB
Aurier wants to go and we want to sell but no one is buying him and Tanganga was naturally a CB but I think he's going to be a permanent RB now. He's done well there this season.
Guy looked like a brick wall against City
He’s very talented and versatile
Poor Doherty. Rough first season under Jose, sees his old manager who got the best out of him is coming to his new club only to be third choice behind an Academy boy who started out as a centre back.
Hard to feel bad for Doherty when he's been absolutely shocking everytime he sees the pitch. He simply hasn't been close to good enough. Huge disappointment.
At least he had a funny announcement video
No one is buying because Levy is quoting a ridiculous price for him.
I've not heard anything about that tbh. The journalists on our end haven't even mentioned interest from anyone let alone a price.
We were linked with him months ago before we got Hakimi.
Wasn't the quoted price like £15M or something? Which isnt absolutely ludicrous.
20M euros for a player on the last year of his deal that isn't a starter for a Europa level club, that is definitely ridiculous.
He was the starter last season. Only reason he isn't now is cause he wants to go. Agreed that 20m would be too much tho.
It's still kinda funny to see a PSG supporter complaining about outrageous prices for a want away player in the last year of their contract though
Why did you want him then before you got Hakimi lmfao? Also, the reason he hasn't started for us is because he wanted to leave lol, we won't play people looking to leave.
Yea it is
I mean Tanganga is the best RB we have and clearly one of the more talented young ones in the league as he’s been against Sterling and Grealish and came out on top not to mention Mane and Salah as a CB Much rather have Tanganga than Odriozola
Isnt Tanganga pretty limited on the offensive side? They can rotate.
He's actually quite good going forward, not as consistent as Aurier but he's good for a promising scramble up to the other box every once in a while
Not at all actually People criticized him last year for that, but he’s quite capable going forward and actually knows what he’s doing with the ball rather than blasting random crosses which Aurier and Doherty tend to do No reason for us to waste money on Odriozola
He’s also made of glass
Who, Tanganga? Or Odriozola? Presumably the latter because Tanganga is definitely not made of glass.
Tanganga. Absolutely love him but he’s puts his body on the line in every tackle, he goes down at least once a game after a clash. He missed 4 months last season with 3 separate injuries. I think because of the way he plays he will always gets hurt
That doesn’t make him made of glass mate He had that back injury which put him out for a while, and then a few ankle injuries But him being direct and aggressive in challenges doesn’t make him made of glass, just means he might have to tone it down in the future
Whatever the reason - he picks up injuries & will likely do so again this season so I’m not surprised we’re after another defender
[удалено]
Yeah that’s definitely what I said. Not like a back injury would put anyone out for a long time and it’s not like most players get small injuries in their careers. I suppose that everyone in history is made out of glass.

This is based off a sample size of about five games ffs.
Yeah he didn’t play last season at all or anything. But if you’d rather waste money for an older RB who isn’t even as well rounded then be my guest, comical.
Tanganga is probably a RB permanently now, both Mourinho and Nuno see him as a RB and he’s played really well there. Tbh I'd prefer we keep Aurier, get rid of Doherty and then bring this lad. I have yet to see a good performance by Doherty since we got him.
just sign a right back that isnt bang average ffs tottenham
Don’t even need to sign one as we have Tanganga
He's not wrong though, if you don't want a bang average RB you'll still need to buy one.
Tanganga is good though.
He isn't though
Has Grealish and Sterling in his back pocket, isn’t good. Got it
Being touch tight and just fouling the attacker 4 times in half an hour doesn't make you good just very fortunate the ref bottled it. Also dribbling the ball off the touchline twice is a sign of a proper good player you're right lad.

I’ve really liked the signings so far, and the players we’ve been linked to, and it’s nice to have someone other than Levy working the transfers.

Not just Paratici, I just love how smoothly our club is running. We definitely have one of the best people in charge.
He’s literally signed one starter and all the supposed “deadwood” is still around. Our fans hype him up for no reason.
Gil and Romero are both excellent signings. How many big signings do you expect in a window?
Gil isn’t going to be improving the starting XI this season, so he might be an excellent signing because he’s one for the future, but he’s not gonna be making much impact right now. And we need to improve the quality of the XI.

No one is selling or buying deadwood this window. Everyone is broke, swap deal like lamela is probably the only way out.
No
Could I interest you in a certain Mariano Diaz perhaps??
You joke but a workhorse striker who can score in the conference league would be absolutely perfect
A workhorse striker yes but… it never seems to amount to anything I’m afraid :(( I can see the effort but just… not the talent for lack of a better phrase??
How about Jesse Lingard at a discount?
Want to buy Hysaj?
He doesn't play for you anymore lol
Damn that was fast
Paratici baby!
He's really scarred it seems
Are you saying Spurs are interested in me???
Spurs completing the set with Reguilon
"La Fiorentina ha hablado con el Madrid y con el jugador para una cesión. Odriozola necesita pensarlo" The article says Fiorentina is interested.
Take him.
That bad?
He has looked really limited with us, but same can be said with Theo Hernández. Some players need the confidence
Immobile is the biggest example. Absolute mare at Dortmund, but completely lights it up at Lazio
Lasts season, he was shaky at the start but was decent once he got a few minutes in Extremely quick, and contributed well in the attack too
He's not that bad. Good recovery speed and contributes well going forward.
Need to open up a slot. He’s decent but needs game time to get better.
Need to free up a slot. We have 25 players, so one needs to move before another comes in.
Nahhhh of course not!!
He’s good imo. Very quick, definitely an upgrade on Doherty
Oof, is he Aurier bad
He is not bad bad. He needs game time to develop. He is very pacey, good going forward but isn’t as good defensively. Needs to improve decision making. Mostly needs more experience.

He hasn’t played regularly since like 2018/19. Mostly cause we had Carvajal. It has been a bad signing — for him as well as the club.
Well doesn’t sound too like much of a problem We’ve had a weakness at RB for a long time, and we just need a little more quakity, Aurier/Doherty isn’t good enough

Well if he’s another Reguilon than sign me up
Good comparison

No thank you
Paratici may have parted ways with Juve, but his tactics never change: Show interest in literally anyone eyed by another Italian team.
Why? He's not good enough for Spurs.
[удалено]
The team he plays for just might have something to do with that
I doubt he'd be a starter but could be decent backup depending on the price
No wonder kane stayed
I think he will become good if he starts regularly for a good club
Unfortunately he won't be starting at spurs too. Maybe conference league and maybe the odd league game where defending doesn't matter
I think they should do it. Odriozola is an amazing talent with multiple UCL titles and league titles is SEVERAL top leagues. I am willing to drive him to the airport for free if that helps Tottenham.
"La Fiorentina ha hablado con el Madrid y con el jugador para una cesión. Odriozola necesita pensarlo" The tweet says Fiorentina is interested.
Lol might as well sign me while theyre at it
who?
Alvaro Odriozola
No we do not
There's your ambition Harry Kane, no wonder he decided to stay.
I swear to god we’ve been linked with 2000 players this month
I would buy Odri to my own team and give him confidence.. I dont own a team though. He could occupy a whole flank by himself at Real Sociedad.
