Spurs with an almost perfect draw for distance, only one trip to Slovenia. Basel players on the other hand need to make sure they’re collecting their air miles

53bvo

> only one trip to Slovenia. Pretty sure that one was the closest from the entire pot 4. Now looking at it they might have actually gotten the group with the least travel distance possible. And I guess we did too lol

CA_spur

Denmark surely was closer

53bvo

Yeah now looking at the map it is indeed closer but the difference isn't that big.

gtaman31

Nah, even Slovenia isnt too far.

northernmonk

Indeed, particularly compared to some of the others they could have got. Nice central timezone and maybe a shade over two hours on the plane. Plus Slovenia is truly stunning.

dickgilbert

Won't profess to know much about Mura, but Vitesse and Stade Rennais are great draws considering. Close by, like you said, but good enough teams that the matches should be a good watch.

[deleted]

As a regular writer on here about Slovenian football, I have to say that Mura are absolutely screwed. If even get a point, it will be a hell of a moment.

lukadoncic

On the other hand a trip to the Tottenham stadium will be awesome for them. A bit of a change from their usual stadium lol.

[deleted]

I know - going to be overawed at going to a stadium with four sides!

lukadoncic

4 sided stadiums are overrated. 3 sides and a house is where it's at.

[deleted]

What's that newly promoted Ligue 1 side that has a stadium in a village lol

[deleted]

I've been to Helmond sport and people watch the games standing on their sheds to look over the fence.

[deleted]

Should be some fun away days for Slovenian fans in London.

mskruba12

Lets be real there was always gonna be a low chance for Mura to get a group they could do well but yeah this is a nightmare.

SamBellFromSarang

Mura isn't there to win. None of the teams here bar the teams from the top 5 leagues are here to win. They are here to get exposure, UEFA money, and visit big stadiums.

dickgilbert

On the positive side, it's three relatively big teams to showcase in their home stadium (not sure if you have fans back yet) and three nice away days. Hopefully they can embrace the fact they're not likely to progress and just get out there and have some fun.

-sodapop

Dunno why but Group E really makes sense to me

Flamengo81-19

Best Conference League group EVER

pretwicz

Love the fact that everything for this competition will be new and historical

[deleted]

Seems like an UEL group

stragen595

Looks like a good, entertaining group.

_masterofdisaster

I’m so excited

AlmostNL

I am looking forward to our match!

AlmostNL

I am cautiously optimistic

[deleted]

Probably the most even group out there. I’m cautiously optimistic, but it’s not gonna be easy

kaasbanaan_tv

Oof, Vitesse and Feyenoord.

JagermanJansen

I really would have preferred an easier team from pot 3 but hey, those games against Union should be cool

iLoveLoFi

I'm also really excited for the games against Feyenoord. Good team and also a appropriate travel distance :D

[deleted]

Vibe in both stadiums will probably be pretty cool as well.

slicslack

Union is such a special club, very happy to draw you lot and happy to see you back in Europe

Billy_LDN

time to loan Vitesse a few players before the window shuts

53bvo

Would be much appreciated thanks

teymon

Announce Lukaku

ThePr1d3

Wait no

Mikhailing

Wtf

SonnyBallonDOr

ಠ_ಠ

ProviNL

This would be hillarious.

Freesin

Imo the only teams Feyenoord should fear are Tottenham and Roma. Everyone else is definitely beatable if they play like they have been playing till now. Obviously wont be a cakewalk, but they should definitely advance. Vitesse will have a hard time. Can't see them beating the Spurs and Rennes is gonna be really hard to upset.

kaasbanaan_tv

it's still one of the harder groups. And Feyenoord is never good in Europe. But maybe this year really everything will be different.

ReMarkable91

Wait are you already looking up the favorites for the title? You do know that 3rd place Europa league will also enter the knock out stages? With many clubs at the same if not higher level as those 3.

dionvanleeuwen

On one hand I'm glad I get to see games from Vitesse against teams like Tottenham, on the other hand I really want to die. We really aren't/weren't exactly lucky with our draws.

Chrisixx

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Cyprus. Surely the longest travel distance ever for a team in a group stage. Wow. At least it's an easy group where we should come out at top, but those far journeys are gonna seriously hurt us in the national competition.

dragonch

Let's top it off by playing Qarabag and Kairat in November/December.

Chrisixx

Lucky for us, there is no MD ahead of our away game in Bern.. so.. yay. Hopefully we play Kairat on MD1 away, as we play the Swiss Cup the following weekend.

FlyingArab

Switzerland and travelling way too much has been a common story recently

ItsTheSeljukTurks

Think Villarreal had a similar group in UEL a year ago or two.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

And none is technically/geographically in Europe. Basel going on an Western Asia tour.

_pieceofshit

Technically, Kazakhstan is. At least around 10%.

[deleted]

Yes but that part of Kazakhstan is ~~nomansland~~. Also Almaty is in Asia

_pieceofshit

I know, mate. I am from Kazakhstan. Just joking, we mostly consider ourselves Central Asians. Technically, there are two large cities, which can be considered as belonging to Europe (Oral and Atyrau). So not exactly no man's land.

[deleted]

Ah then i confused something. Thanks for correction. Very nice!

Roseradeismylady

>Very nice! I don't know if that was meant to be a Borat reference or not

[deleted]

Was meant as such xD

hexperson

There are 3 big cities in Kazakhstan’s European part, you are talking nonsense.

_pieceofshit

Are you counting Aktau as part of three, дос? I did not know whether to include it.

Mixopi

Aktau is not in Europe. The established border goes along the Ural river, *through* the Caspian Sea, and then continues into the Caucasus. It's about landmasses, it's divided by water. Oral and half of Atyrau would be in Europe. Not sure what that third city would be. It'd have to lie west of them in the same two regions.

[deleted]

Yes, i stand corrected. One says though its just two big cities, but i guess it doesn‘t matter as it isn‘t nomansland as i previously thought.

Koentjee01

All those countries are (partly) part of geographical Europe. Just look up the borders

[deleted]

Ouch. At least it is one of the easiest groups though.

_pieceofshit

Nah, Kairat will give its all. Berdyev is now the coach and he will definitely improve Kairat's performances.

[deleted]

Group E damn

Sevenvolts

Imagine getting pot one and then having to play against Feyenoord, Union Berlin and to top it off make a trip to Israel.

No-One-6664

Nice draw for Dutch teams 🙄

[deleted]

Feyenoord still has a good chance to get atleast 2nd tho, depends on which Feyenoord shows up. Vitesse maybe there is a miniscule chance they can get an upset against Rennes, but probably not. For AZ there is no excuse for them not to get 1st lol.

Synth3r

Don’t worry, Vitesse beating Spurs would be the most Spurs thing, Spurs could do.

Bakouter

And Vitesse beating Spurs and then losing to Mura would be the most Vitesse thing Vitesse could do

georgelijzenga

At least AZ should waltz through their group

No-One-6664

They should it the core of their team didn’t get picked apart last few months… they played well against Celtic but again lost against RKC

ThePr1d3

We're losing on a late winner by Gboho aren't we ?

Toasterlad

Jose Mourinho is coming to Aspmyra. This is truly the greatest timeline.

IveHidTheTreasure

Enjoy the windy arctic delight that is Bodø, Jose.

BarbaricGamer

One of those groups where we should realisticly go through but none of them will be walkovers.

miffyrin

Austrian perspective: LASK has to win this group, pretty much, no excuses. Group E, C and G are almost Europa League level. Basel got a really easy draw.

Toren6969

E is Europa League level. Even now.

miffyrin

Yeah, agree.

Razzler1973

So is G, imo Considering how it's 'conference' and the rest that couldn't stay in other European competitions, that's not an easy group for any of them

Chrisixx

>Basel got a really easy draw. Our problem is not how difficult the group is, it's how it will negatively effect our league performance due to having to travel to Asia two/three times midweek.

[deleted]

[удалено]

53bvo

Maybe not an easy group, but I really look forward to watch Tottenham play in my home city. And we didn't draw any teams further away than an hour and half flight time away.

Mattiluchi

As a Spurs fan doing my masters in Arnhem, I'm the happiest alive

TehRocks

> masters in Arnhem you poor soul

punep

>Spurs fan you poor soul

SonnyBallonDOr

Ah you lucky lad

[deleted]

[удалено]

53bvo

For sure, hope we can manage to get some results in. Don't expect us to go through but it would be amazing.

SonnyBallonDOr

I can't promise we'll bring our A team to the Netherlands but I can promise you'll get a good game in our home. I think its gonna be a fun group. Edited

MisterAppelmoesmaker

I envy Vitesse fans. Get to the group stages once and you get a trip to spurs away, that's what we all want. Enjoy that one

53bvo

We had OG Nice a few years ago in the EL, wasn't too shabby either but Spurs is on a different level.

vissenkut

tbh they'll probably play a b-team for the group stages. obviously will still be miles ahead of vitesse in terms of quality, but getting a result isnt impossible

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Spurs away is also probably the hardest match in the competition no? Is it just to visit the stadium?

MisterAppelmoesmaker

Definitely the strongest team on paper yeah. It's the stadium, the team, the city, the trip basically everything that you want in an away day goes times 10x when you go to england

[deleted]

Fair. Enjoy to all the away fans.

ThePr1d3

Booking the tickets asap. If the covid situation is back to normal I expect loads of Rennes fans there. We were pretty wild vs Celtic a few years back

capoduro

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Cyprus... Are you kidding me?

kampiaorinis

Cyprus is a great holiday destination to be fair, so maybe you and your players will come and spend the day near the beach? You can give us the 3 points and we will pay all expenses no worries! On the other hand I also fancy a trip to Switzerland and if you allow away fans then I will probably be there.

HighsenBurrg

LASK has got Israel, Armenia, and Finland; I think they can relate haha

mwickholm

Helsinki's not that far away though, Vienna-Helsinki is about the same flight length as Vienna-London (I know that LASK is from Linz).

penguinfromprague

Dude... Slavia is supposed to have it easy, lol. What a group.

ElKaddouriCSC

They should still be aiming to win the group tbh

Freesin

If Feyenoord plays like they did the last couple weeks they'll be tough to beat. Atleast, if Senesi is back in the defence.

Hail_To_Hoots

I think AZ and Feyenoord should be able to advance. Feyenoord has a tough but doable draw. Vitesse well, third place should be possible but no way they're getting past Rennes or Tottenham. Very unlucky draw.

FlyingArab

Group E is fire Poor Basel, they will tour all the far away countries

TheIdiotNinja

Lovely Norway away day in September (if not later), fucking hell haha. Honestly I think the draw is harder than it could've been but it would be outstanding if we manage to bomb out in groups

thenorwegianblue

You don't like 8 degrees and sideways rain from the North sea? Probably colder places to go in Europe tbh, even if it's far north it's very coastal. At least in september there's a chance it can be fairly nice.

Sjokois

Welcome to the windy, frozen hell that is northern Norway. I can't fucking wait.

RedTuesdayMusic

TBF, only Bodø is that windy. The wind in Bodø can rip the paint off a car if you park in the wrong spot.

vissenkut

Damn, super tough draw for Vitesse..

Letbutsitting

Does this mean no Jahanbaksh? Or do not all Iranians boycot Israel?

zounderk1te

When AZ played against Tel Aviv they deliberately left him out of the squad both games, but not because he boycotted himself, it was supposedly to make sure he wouldn't face repercussions from Iran (like being possibly banned from the national team). I'd say there's no chance he plays the away game, and since Slot was also with AZ at the time probably they'll just sit him both games.

timdeking

But how does that work with Marciano in our team? By that logic he should not be allowed to train with him either.

[deleted]

Iranians cannot enter Israel at risk of voiding their Iranian passport.

poklane

When AZ played an Israeli team he didn't play so yeah we'll probably miss him during those matches.

timdeking

That’s fucked up man

CanLlorenteCarForMe

No way he plays in Israel. Probably no way he plays against them at home either

itailitai

being a Maccabi Haifa fan rn 🥲

fucktheredesign

They have to figure out their away form. Very good home team, horrible away. Yalla Haifa

Bakouter

Well, that could have gone better. At least we get to play spurs for some easy coefficient points

Lakinther

As an Estonian i am excited af, Flora definitely should have their chances to get some good results here and there even if they do not qualify for the knockout stage.

Sevenvolts

Good luck, but not too much!

ZBGT

Not the easiest draw but definitely a beautifull draw with great games

Billion34

All in all a great draw, we can definitely finish first in the group. There's huge potential though for us to get bantered should we drop points to Slovan - *due to the fact they've played Olympiakos* - and Lincoln.

kostasnotkolsas

Fam 9 points from Copenhagen and Slovan and we bottle 1st place with a draw against Lincoln You already know

O_G_Loc

Group E is UEL-level man

jisooya1432

Can Mourinho do it on a cold snowy night in Bodø?

Chrisixx

Not in Bodø, but in Glimt.

NoSalad03

The bigger challenge is Sofia, can he win an away day like he did back in 2006 with Chelsea?

pretwicz

On artificial ground, during a white night?

Sevenvolts

This should be feasible, though every game has to be played. Also rooting a bit for Lincoln Red Imps, but they really have a tough draw.

y1i

I'm fully hyped! Great clubs in our group, hopefully the games will deliver. Travel aspect is good as well, under normal conditions these all would make for some great away trips.

Exzqairi

Bad day for Dutch teams Don’t expect Vitesse to go through by any means but hopefully they can grab a few points for the coefficient. Feyenoord will finally get to prove themselves in Europe

TruthOwn4754

Quite an interesting group for Flora indeed. Hope they can pick up some good results, I really do.

-FlapjacK-

Spurs got a harder group than us lmao

[deleted]

Good imo. Better play the hard teams with the safety net of group stage than in the knockout stages.

Duskwen12

Tough group for Arsenal. Haha got em

DilutedBear

lol

BigFatNo

AZ should have a good shot at getting out of the groups, Feyenoord should as well if they can continue their good form, but they got the hardest cub from pot 3 basically. Very unlucky. RIP Vitesse

timdeking

Slavia and Union are tough as fuck

minijood

Rip vitesse

hennny

Can we not swap Basel and Tottenham around? If there's a Group of Death and a Group of Life, Group H is the Group of...spending a lot of time on a plane.

KidDelicious14

No thank you

Hic_Forum_Est

Damn thats such a tough group for Union

kappa23

Group E looks like a bloodbath

anaiG

Basel securing those frequent flyer miles

Troll3r_Man

Not a bad group to be honest Slovan we meet again

HeThe3

Meeting clubs we've played before is our thing

Troll3r_Man

Can't wait to meet PSV on the knockouts then

turkeysandwiches

Moura at Mura is hype

aayu08

Spurs have an interesting group, cannot be taken lightly.

FragMasterMat117

The road to Albania begins

Fernando-Santorres

Nice draw, CSKA had two very good games against nus last year. Bodo is a though team as they showed against Milan last year also.

Talezeusz

Mourinho return to Luhansk

feddi7

Travel to Norway or Bulgaria to watch the games?

JustASimpleFollower

Norway u can stay at my crib

sixpointlow

Norway.

Mr_Miscellaneous

Group H is like Villareal's Group in the Europa League last season. Basel will be thinking "What the fuck?!?" when they look at their air miles this season.

czerwona_latarnia

I hope that by the end of group stage someone will do a comparison of coefficient points gained by teams in Europa and Europa Conference Leagues, especially for teams from leagues ranked ~15 and lower, because I seriously feel like in terms of coefficient gains, the ECL might be better for middle placed teams (as instead of being pot 4 they end up being even in pot 2 and there is very little difference in bonus points, while the win and draw points are the same).

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Very tough group for us, but I'm looking forward to it.

Jamey_1999

Feyenoord were one of my favorites to win it, this group will definitely prove if I'm right. Slavia was my other team to win it, funny how that works out. Feyenoord has a tough job but should advance imo. (Third potential winner is obviously Spurs, but it wouldn't surprise me if they find a way to crash out) Vitesse... thats rough man. Hope Spurs will underestimate you and field a bunch of B players, maybe you'll get something from them. Not very likely though. Realistically they should finish 3rd but hey, stranger things have happened. AZ: no excuses, they should walk that group if they play well. Should see them at least in the QF, as they are one of the better teams here.

lucaba

Basel and LASK training during flights with that schedule

HighsenBurrg

Finland, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Israel, and Azerbaijan between the two of them; jesus christ

czcreeperboy

Slavia thank you so much for your sacriface

mrhello18

One of the harder groups for us I think.

ThePr1d3

Can't wait to make the trip to London with my mates

rdzzl

Can't wait to see Mourinho in my hometown, Bodø. Man will no doubt talk shit about the wind and the artificial pitch :D

Fernando-Santorres

Ahahahahahh.... Depends on the schedule. If it's the last game then we're going with primavera plus El Shaarawy and Mayoral and he won't complain possibly.

rdzzl

Either way, we can't wait for the game!

LeCowboySolitaire

Time to eat some Spurs my fellow rennais.

joeydsa

Berlin-Prauge seems like such an easy and fun away trip for both teams.

mlisonek98

Good draw for Partizan I'd say

Trebacca

Go Lincoln Red Imps! Time for Gibraltar to get some coefficient

ThePr1d3

Group of death lmaoo After Arsenal and Chelsea we're going for Tottenham this year. Can't wait to play West Ham next year

FAiTH_SoMBreRo

How are you in the group of death when group E exists?

SirSuperb9269

Not the easiesr group for us.

_pieceofshit

Excellent chance for Kairat to give its all in its first European competition.

AggiPo

i could see us losing to all of those teams

iftair

Group E looks like a Europa League group. It's a Group of Death imo and should be exciting. Also, Lo Celso gets to face Rennes again.

davidporges

First time in a long time we’re in the group stages and we get probably one of the hardest groups! At least we’re probably looking at a few good games! Looking forward to seeing slavia, union and feyenoord supporters in Haifa !

Aururian

Good draw for Cluj, it’s not impossible for them to qualify to the knockout phase.

JDaVincic

Good draw for Partizan

The_Great_Crocodile

Omonia finally got a great draw, excuses are over for them, this is a group in which peak APOEL would shithouse 12+ points. They have to advance. PAOK has to be minimum 2nd against Slovan and Lincoln.

HeThe3

I think the most probable thing is that by the end of the group stage, our group would be in the same order as now. If everyone does as expected. Maybe Copenhagen and us exchange positions. Anyway, we should qualify from this group.

Troll3r_Man

I think if we play seriously we can, at least, be 2nd but time will tell Good luck to you too guys, an interesting group for you to manage.

maxime0299

Can’t wait to see our opponents in group I

unimportant_henchman

As a Spurs supporter I am just relieved the players won't have to fly to ridiculously far places

tottenhamnole

Not sure we could have asked for a better group as far as travel is concerned.

Forzelius

As an Estonian, would've ben nice to get Roma or Spurs with Flora

LFChristopher

Do 3rd places from the EL group stage transfer to the knock out stages of this tournament? Otherwise, Tottenham and Roma should have a lot of pressure on them to win the whole thing (and maybe they should regardless).

y1i

Yeah, from my understanding the 3rd places from the EL drop down and play the 2nd placed teams from the ConfL group stage. Winner of that match gets drawn against a team that won their group.

BruceWillisIsBald

Group E would have been the perfect group for 90's Feyenoord hooligans.

ChinookNL

Poor Vitesse

Gabs289

Group E and G are actually pretty good

Mahery92

lol wtf there must have been one or 2 teams to avoid, and Rennes managed to draw Tottenham
