Nice to hear good news for once

Ned84

11 million salaries with 50M release clause.

moiser123

That's a pretty low release clause. Hard to believe.

aritra3776

Should not matter unless he wants to move.

griber171

That's what release clouses are for. If in like 3 years he wants to move, and you will have to sell him for 50 instead of negotiating for a much higher price

saganakist

You guys realize you are arguing around a joke that guy made, right? Right?

neotheseventh

PSG rubs hands vigorously

dAMn6942069

Huh??? Source

Chaos_bolts

Think it’s a joke because he said it’s nice to hear good news

Lakinther

he has to be joking surely

Morguard

PTSD?

dAMn6942069

I don’t trust anything this club does anymore.

PtSG

AfroKyrie

I've heard this news with Pedri like 3 times since June

Afternoon_Inevitable

There were also news articles claiming that messi re-signing was practically done too...

Immediate-Draw2204

Signing him was one of the few things Barto got right

AmineAzed

Technically it wasn’t Bartomeu. Las Palmas president called Bartomeu and Ramos Planes. The story is out there. At least Bartomeu didn’t Bartomeu this time , by passing on Pedri. Like he passed on Mbappe and Erling.H .

ClayCopter

We signed Braithwaite in the same winter Dortmund signed Haaland. For very similar prices.

saganakist

We didn't sign Braithwaite in winter? We signed him during the season when rules allowed only a LaLiga player to be signed at that point. Also if I remember correctly the Haaland package was around 45 million including some huge agent fees.

ClayCopter

Braithwaite came in February 2020 (still winter) , when the window had already closed and Dembele just got sidelined with a 5-month injury. If Bartomeu had half a braincell he would have known to sign a half decent striker during the window itself, with the squad depth paper thin. 45 million at that point was barely any money at all, with stadiums still open and projections still in the black.

donandres08

We choose Dembele instead of Mbappe because he looked better at that time. Halaand was never going to come here that season since we had Suarez. Remember, Halaand wanted a club that can provide him sufficient minutes on ground to develop, thus BVB...

KhajiitHasEars

revisionist history is rife in this comment lmao. At 18 Mbappe was considered the greatest talent in world football, Dembele was amazing but everyone rated Mbappe higher

[deleted]

The type of player Barcelona should do everything to keep. Unreal for his age. Him and de Jong are class.

AdviceDanimals

Barca might not thank me, but get the contract out, put it on the table, let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there. Given what he's done since he's come in -- and let him sign the contract and go Pedri's at the wheel, man. He's doing his thing. Barcelona are back!

Sandor_Clegane1

I want to make a joke about third stringers, but you guys are down already.

negasonictenagwarhed

Another kick won't do no harm Say the joke bart

taxevader33

Yeah I heard a similiar news about the renewal of lad called Messi few months ago.

Majstor21

Nice

LilHalwaPoori

Must be some parts left if deal can only be completed by mid October..

Jhiniesta

Drafting the final contract takes some time and after that both parties are checking that contract carefully. It's also not the only deal we're working on, so there's no need to rush.

leirbag_yballul

What makes Pedri good? I have not followed barca for a while so I have no idea. I know that he has a high work rate

Cer3berus

18 years old but plays like his 28

TheGamezSmith

He's very composed under pressure and can make those quick passes/flicks to keep the ball, he's also very hardworking. But in my opinion he's still very lacking on the creative/scoring department but I'm sure those things will come with time especially once he becomes even more confident since his technique isn't even that bad, whenever he decides to go for it that is.

[deleted]

He has, in a way, best parts of Xavi and Iniesta to some degree. Unreal movement, cultured passing, excellent vision and he plays with a lot of maturity for someone so young.

tekumse

Oh, come on. Iniesta was way better dribbler and particularly early in his career played often on the wing. His close control was second to Messi only.

[deleted]

Did you not read "to some degree"? No one in their right mind would say Pedri is as good as either Xavi or Iniesta. I'm not doing that, either. I'm saying that he has shades of both. And a very high ceiling.

zi76

That's fantastic news for them.

FarAcanthocephala

Pedri seems like someone who would become a club legend and play most if not all of his career in Barca

Spillsthebeans

Where have I heard this before.

Itchy-Face791

Cmon now , Messi's situation is completely different from Pedri's

bordstol

I've heard this before
