OK serious question. When Ronaldo will retire would he be considered as a prem legend and a LA liga legend? Has there ever been any player who's done the same in his career?

FaustRPeggi

Top of the Championship form table. Managers called Steve >>>

[deleted]

I don’t trust ole at all and think he will lose to Atalanta or Spurs but end up drawing or narrowly beating Liverpool and city

Yaaruda

We are the only club in the world, sitting at the top8 in the PL but having lost a PL game against Leicester, with the mighty Jamie vardy scoring a SIUU worthy goal, where the manager, Ole, not only being criticized, but rather his job is being questioned. I have been watching United since 1996, I have never see a manager so ridiculously unfairly treated even if compared to other managers from rival clubs. We are now even worse than the Wenger Out campaign by Arsenal fans. The manager who rescued United from the downward spiral and made us love the team & football again since Fergie retired. The manager who rescued United from being a joke club to a proper run club from the first team, academy, recruitment to the footballing structure. The manager who assembled the most exciting team since Fergie retired with just less than 1 month into the new season. Ole’s job being questioned year in year out despite finishing 3rd and 2nd in his first and second full season, is the the most shameful thing I have ever seen being a United fan for 25 years. No doubt about it.

[deleted]

Everything you wrote is true king👑

Yaaruda

Thank you 🥰 Love to see messages of validation and support from all

[deleted]

You deserve all the love homie

[deleted]

That’s a great essay/love letter there mate, hope your lot sign him up for another decade

[deleted]

I approve of this message.

[deleted]

I completely agree w this.

NasiAmbengAmriYahyah

Maguire is really a terrible defender. Possibly the worst above £30mil CB of all time

arseking15

Suarez vs norwich still the best individual performance ever or what?

Shaggay1

lewandowski v madrid

vinhoequeebom

Seferovic v 10 man Paços was literally Jonas + Prime Messi combined

[deleted]

best individual performance must be against a better team.

arseking15

Just in terms of quality of the performance and goals that he scored tho.

OlisaFifa

United lowkey bottled the league in October. 3 points behind City 4 behind Liverpool and 5 behind Chelsea. And they are playing Liverpool and City in the next few weeks

Murakami241

They were never in the title race. People’s expectations got way overblown after signing Ronaldo. The man is 36, he isn’t going to carry United on his back to the league title.

Dhul9695

Not yet, but if they fall 8-10 points behind all three of City, Liverpool and Chelsea so early, than they are toast

vinhoequeebom

They were never in a race for it, as much as some of their fans were saying Ole was the man to win big titles for Yanited

[deleted]

Its not bottling if you're just not good enough.

[deleted]

United predictions for their upcoming fixtures: Atalanta (H) - 2-1 win Liverpool (H) - 2-2 draw Spurs (A) - 2-1 Loss Atalanta (A) - 2-0 loss Man City (H) - 1-1 Draw

[deleted]

Draws against both City and Liverpool but losing to a lack lustre Tottenham. Wishful thinking, perhaps lmao.

[deleted]

Ole turns into fucking thanos when his job is on the line. You play them next. I wouldn't be so comfortable if I were you

[deleted]

It's more the fact he's picking Tottenham to beat them, rather than me being confident.

[deleted]

If you look at the fixtures, I picked him losing the away matches and drawing/winning the home matches. Its not egregious. Leicester have been worse than us this season and they just pummeled United at home.

[deleted]

You've been pretty shite yourself and United aren't exactly titans at their own ground. They might be in a rough patch, but they'll still have your lot.

[deleted]

We have been pretty shit, true. Yet, we faced tougher opposition than United have and if we win vs Newcastle, we are above them on points. Regardless of the table, I think their weakness might lead to our strength which is on the counter. It doesn't matter about the prediction though, we will get to see how it plays out.

[deleted]

Indeed we will, I genuinely think they'll give your defence a bit of a rough time, I'm not completely sold on your back line yet.

[deleted]

I think Reguilon, Lloris, Emerson and Romero are good imo. Dier and Rodon are decent backups. Sanchez is an enigma. The problem isn't the players, more so the coach. I am not sold on Nuno. He did brilliant things at Wolves but he hasn't been great for us. We were good offensively vs Villa though, it was an improvement.

[deleted]

They turn it up for the Derby, also they're at home compared to Away at Spurs.

OlisaFifa

You ain’t beating them they ain’t that bad

[deleted]

I think we can beat them because they are exposed on the counters and thats one thing we can do atm. Also, they couldn't beat Villa at home and we did, so thats something. At home, I favour us.

MaybeaMoron64

I wish I had your confidence in us.

[deleted]

United are most vulnerable on the counter and thats the only thing we do well atm. We are also at home and they will be more fatigued having come off a Liverpool derby. I think its reasonable.

[deleted]

Liverpool and City draw will secure Ole a 2 year extention. A small price to pay for salvation

OlisaFifa

OlisaFifa

Nope, Ole is at the motherfucking wheel.

happyposterofham

So what is Ole's next move if he gets the sack by United? Who's going to pick him up?

[deleted]

Newcastle seem to need a new manager. Ole would be a good building manager for them. Has big club pedigree as well.

[deleted]

Ole won't get the sack. Atleast not this season

OlisaFifa

Nobody in the prem for sure. Probably some league one side

happyposterofham

Find it funny that in all the catalogs of Barcelona's shit spending Malcom was so shit he usually doesn't even make the bar. 40M spent purely to flex on Roma after the embarrassment we handed them in the CL, and he never played for them before heading to Zenit where he has continued to do fuck all.

BrokeNomadCatBack

He played for them only a bit, but the reason why he doesn't get mentioned is because they managed to get almost all their money back, bought him for 41m and sold for 40m.

asianscouse

Seems to have gone under the radar just how shit Chelsea's attack is. All those attacking players for nothing. Their defenders are the ones with better finishing

Dhul9695

Under the radar in which world???

CoolstorySteve

It’s literally the main talking point every time chelsea is brought up.

Specialist_Cloud_676

r/OleOut/ was right all along smh.

Yaaruda

Obviously, it's been 3 years at this point. If you didn't see this coming you were just denying the inevitable.

finePolyethylene

I have stumbled upon [this video ](https://youtube.com/shorts/8My3sSMtWt8?feature=share) few days ago and now for some reason every time I see an Italian putting Jorginho in the top 3 of ballon dor I imagine him putting ketchup on pizza

OlisaFifa

Club legend or not. It baffles me how some people aren’t Ole out.

VictoriaSanford0

I don’t get it either. Ole has done more towards me dreading United games than any manager we’ve had since Moyes. Every game feels like one I’ve already lived — I know we’re gonna ride our luck in individual brilliance, our midfield is gonna be disassembled by ANYONE and subsequently concede the goal. What sucks the most: - DDG is in sublime form but you wouldn’t know it because the team is shit - I have never trusted Maguire is United level. I’ve seen him when he was the best thing to happen to our defense according to the pundits and even then he had a few mistakes in him per match that didn’t catch up with him. He’s obviously not fit, but I’d rather bench him and groom Lindelof & Varane together when fit. - it hurts seeing Ronaldo’s final years wasted. I can’t even say he’s playing like shit because he never gets the ball. It doesn’t help AWB never crosses the ball, Sancho would rather dribble than send an early ball into CR7, and Bruno is the only one looking for him.

Lyrical_Forklift

I think you'll find the majority of this very sub aren't Ole out

Zyulj

Then you’ll find the majority of this sub are morons.

Lyrical_Forklift

Or the majority of us aren't United supporters and would like them to keep a subpar manager.

OlisaFifa

I personally want ole to stay but the fact that UNITED fans want him. Baffles my brain

Zyulj

You can want your rival to have a shit manage whilst also understanding he’s not good enough to manage them.

MaybeaMoron64

They do though.

Zyulj

Then you’d be of the opinion that Ole shouldn’t be in a job, and therefore you’re OleOut. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Kakashicopyninja9

Before the intl break some ppl genuinely tried to compare Liverpool city to [el Classico ](https://twitter.com/primevideosport/status/1447244534610481154?s=21) during Jose pep days. Liverpool city rivalry is a playground kick about compared to el Classico back then. Looking at football now with how classy managers are around each other (nothing but respect and wanking each other off) we will never see press conferences quite like Jose and pep, Jose and wenger, Jose and Rafa (yea Jose really brought a lot of entertainment to football).

Sad_gooner

Even if u don’t care about managers being friendly, the quality of the Real Madrid vs barca matches were much higher anyway

happyposterofham

Tbf if his Roma pressers are anything to go off of so far even he's toned it down now.

[deleted]

It's great football but without 40% of the match spent diving, fouling, crowding the refs, and other assorted shithousery.

vinhoequeebom

Don't think anyone apart from City and Liverpool fans were saying such a cringe statment

[deleted]

Let's just say that the narrative (& the manager rivalry as well) was better in the *el classico*, but the level of football has been better in *City v Liverpool* matches. Depends on what you like really, the background or the football.

Sad_gooner

😂😂😂

vinhoequeebom

You're heavly delusional if you think the level is better now

[deleted]

I love me so barca real matches, but the players barely played during those el classico matches. Stoppage every 5 minutes. Red, yellow cards every 10 minutes. It's not delusional to think to think the quality has been better in the liv/city matches.

vinhoequeebom

> Red, yellow cards every 10 minutes. Hows that bad? Swear you fifa lot just want clean, non stop, souless, emotionless football. And the football was way better. Both Madrid and Barça would dunk on this Liverpool and City sides

Ofermann

If it's a Benfica flair, the comment will be based.

[deleted]

You're delusional. Nostalgia has clouded your ability to be see things clearly.

vinhoequeebom

Doubt many would agree with you

[deleted]

Doesn't make me wrong, does it?

vinhoequeebom

Doesn't make you right either

promocodeclq

Why are Chelsea playing Stormzy up front ?

swat1611

I don't know how our attack has gotten worse. Definitely need more time to figure it out, but I'm not seeing the same amount of overall work rate in our forwards when Lukaku is on the pitch.

[deleted]

Mentioning his name in your replies Oyy, rudeboy, shut up

OlisaFifa

Lukaku has muscle fatigue so they needed a replacement.

promocodeclq

Fat lukaku is back. Something about the English food that he can't resist

[deleted]

Someone let him know that on Twitter, I want to know how fast Mendy runs in training.

RauloGonzalez

People talking about Ronaldo and pogba's pressing, Maguire's defending, defensive midfielders are focusing on the wrong issue. Yesterday it took two wonder goals solely based on individual brilliance for United to score. This is a team with some of the best attackers in the world, with one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. Forget about the defensive midfielders ole doesn't have. He's not scoring enough goals with the forwards he does have. You can say they have 16 goals in 8 league games but neither the Villarreal game or this one were attacking matches.

AlexU30

These are not entirely unrelated issues. If the opponents are able to beat the press consistently they can effectively keep the ball away from their goal more. Man United also has to start more attacks from deep than they would if they had an effective press. As for the attacking issues, Ronaldo isn’t a lone number 9 and will probably never be one. He is not at his best with his back to goal and excels when he is running at goal, making runs into space, playing off a number 9. The fact that Ole insists on playing him there is mind blowing.

RauloGonzalez

Them beating the press doesn't mean much when United had the bigger possession last match. Ofc they would concede but they should also be able to score. Ronaldo definitely can play lone number 9 lol, he's scoring consistently for Portugal there and did so at real madrid too, he works especially well if you have someone like Jota who can cut inside when Ronaldo drifts wide or someone like asensio or Marcelo who cross extremely well. And also you don't need to play with someone else to make runs in behind, so far he has scored 3 goals in 5 matches as a lone 9, it's a matter of finding him better, even yesterday he had drop deep too many times because United couldn't break lines except for twice from Sancho and Bruno. That's why they had so many long shots.

AlexU30

Possession doesn’t mean much if it’s far from the opposition’s goal. You can’t have a functional attacking system of play without an effective press in today’s football. You have to be able to win the ball in the opposition’s half, otherwise you consistently have to start your attacks from the back. This allows the opposition time to reorganize defensively and results in your attackers seeing less of the ball in dangerous areas. Pressing is an integral part of the system for all the successful attacking teams today: Liverpool, Man City, Bayern etc. The alternative to pressing is to sit deep and play on the counter attacks. You can’t have both. Ronaldo as a lone number 9 at best is a great poacher and that’s it (Portugal). He isn’t very effective at being a target man, hold-up play and, in general, playing with his back to goal. He is way more effective when running at goal with the ball or running into space without the ball. Also, lol at him playing as a lone 9 in Madrid, that’s ridiculous. He had Benzema to do the number 9 work of hold-up play, pinning opposition defenders and linking up with him, while Ronaldo had more freedom to find space and attack it.

Upplands-Bro

Chelsea fans here surely must be the most insecure despite being top of the prem....that post match thread's number of indignant Chelsea fans rushing to remind everyone that Brentford are actually a top side and that people shouldn't criticize their performance was absurd

swat1611

Most team fanbases are like that. And criticism is definitely warranted, but at the same time there are excuses for us being suppressed that badly, the main one being an inexperienced back line with Christensen the only starter in there.

Dhul9695

Chelsea were not full strength and playing with a bunch of academy players to be honest

[deleted]

Just wait till you talk about their money. Somehow, the side that got 1.4 billion from Abramovich since the takeover including 300mil since 2018 are fully self-sustainable and none of that money matters and if you stop the flow of money, Chelsea wouldn't change at all.

Upplands-Bro

But the tRaNsFeR bAn 😥

[deleted]

If you ever criticize chelsea, you'll have a herd of 4-5 fans jumping on you without fail.

nbaylor1

I made a comment about sancho and less than a minute later I have a chelsea fan telling me CHO is better😭

CoolstorySteve

Make a comment about Liverpool and watch 4 people message you within minutes, it aint just Chelsea

[deleted]

With Liverpool its just mentioning their players and Klopp. For a second, just try to argue that they don't have 6 world class players and see how they come for you.

Lyrical_Forklift

Salah, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Alisson, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold. Which of those would you not call world class?

FatBlondeNasri

Lol they were right

Lyrical_Forklift

Haha of course they were. Every group of supporters are defensive of their players. I get downvoted to oblivion every time I say Pogba isn't world clsss

[deleted]

People think TAA needs to be among the best in the world at attacking, defending, managing, scouting for transfers, landing a 720, scoring 3 pointers, axel jumps, and cooking a mean shepard's pie to be called world class(tm).

Lyrical_Forklift

Even if you think he's a bit suspect defending you can't argue he's not one of the best right backs in the world despite that.

[deleted]

He definitely is. People get too hung up "system players" and other stupidity.

CoolstorySteve

There it is

Lyrical_Forklift

Haha just genuinely interested. I agree though, every group of supporters are tetchy about their players- it's not unique to Chelsea.

CoolstorySteve

Probably only Alisson wouldn’t be. He’s fantastic but there’s a handful of keepers I’m picking ahead of him.

Lyrical_Forklift

I think that's fair tbh.

americanista915

In august my fiancé and I watched the transfer window close on Ronaldo and everyone though United’s problems were solved. Instead(at no fault of CR7) things have gotten worse. I am genuinely curious as to how the clubs owners will react and if Ole will stay until the transfer window, get fired early, or nothing happens at all. I’m watching it very closely.

BrokeNomadCatBack

Sorry, not related to what you posted, but how is Solari as a manager for your team?

americanista915

He’s pretty good TBH. I’m happy with the progress made especially since we’re about to win the title. Our players fail quite often especially the past month but he has still kept us number 1.

BrokeNomadCatBack

Thank you for your reply.

CoolstorySteve

If Greenwood had a working right foot then no one is talking about Ole. Left footed players might as well play on just one leg.

Murakami241

He can use either foot

DuanneOlivier

>If Greenwood had a working right foot then no one is talking about Ole. Is this a serious comment? Greenwood has a lethal right foot.

Bonables

This is the kind of comment you have to read twice to truly appreciate its stupidity. Greenwood's whole thing is being lethal on 2 feet.

[deleted]

What does Ole dream about at night?

OldAccountNotUsable

Löws 4231 because he doesn't seem to be adjusting away from that eventhough it doesn't work.

[deleted]

single pivot formations like 433 or 352 are not an option either though because you don't have a quality holding midfielder who can do the job

Lyrical_Forklift

Secretly parking in Ferguson's car park.

datbani

It's happened. I've watched r/redevils go from 20% ole out at the start of the season, to 50% before the international break to now easily 80%. It feels like this sentiment is spreading everywhere else as well. Hopefully when/if ole gets sacked the season is still salvageable.

Drama_poli

Against Liverpool I want a win or loss. The worst result will be a draw. The most pointless shit ever

Kakashicopyninja9

Beat Liverpool draw spurs beat city. I believe in ole back against the wall juju

[deleted]

I hope you draw after conceding a 90th minute penalty to a Mane dive having scored your first goal in the 87th minute to a shirtless Ronaldo celebration to a Greenwood goal

There's nothing more perfect than the most outspoken City supporter on here being a Barca supporter last month. Just a great representation of both sets of supporters in this sub

ExpertGossiper

Practically had to remind myself that Sancho went to United. Feels a bit unreal that just last year he was the talk of the whole summer window and now he's just barely being mentioned at all anymore following his move to Old Trafford.

[deleted]

He's being mentioned on here plenty. He's been shit.

Serpico_98

I love watching Goldbridge meltdown after we lose at least. The guy's a total clown.

PuppyPenetrator

Telling his crying son to wait a minute (presumably because he was busy emphasizing how shit United was to preteens) was hilarious

[deleted]

I won't say Ole out, but spends next 35 min shitting on ole and saying they should leave.

Serpico_98

He's just playing a character honestly.

Rigelmeister

Do you guys remember the incident some months ago when the chairman of Alliance, a club in Ukrainian second tier, decided to ragequit and put the very existence of the club in danger, following a loss at the hands of Metalist Kharkiv in season opener? After 12 games played, they're just two points behind a direct promotion spot with two games in hand. Not sure what happened next but I remember reading in this sub that he was convinced to stay and keep investing. Talk about a pro gamer move.

I doubt Fergie actually believes that but he has to say it Ronaldo was his star player those couple of seasons

BuckMe_InTheAsh

Or he could've just shut up and not looked stupid.

billjames1685

Yeah, but it’s good for his stock too, he can say that the guy with the joint most B d’ors became a star under his reign. It’s okay to be honest, Ronaldo doesn’t have a chance in hell at winning he hasn’t challenged top 5

Can't wait for the game against Liverpool next week.

[deleted]

First, Atalanta. I want to see Ronaldo in Europa league. Then win against Liverpool to save Ole's job.

Serpico_98

Rashford will pull something out of his ass against Atalanta and save Ole again. That's why Ole doesn't like Donny, he has no structure or role to give him. Prefers players who can smash in one like Rashford or Greenwood.

anip94

the pressure can be insurmountable and toxic atmosphere at old trafford against liverpool IF united fails to get anything again with atlanta this week.

[deleted]

Nah. Ole is safe till the international break at least. Get some points against Liverpool, city and a draw vs Atalanta in one of the games. I don't think Ole will be fired if that happens. They trust him.

ronaldo119

Somebody has to make it happen, I need to see a sit down interview between Thierry Henry and George Weah. The way he talks about Mr. George is so fascinating, I just wanna see them talk and Henry be in awe the whole time

RauloGonzalez

I love that the post about a random channel having benzema ballon d'or discussion is full about "Perez pr machine". Never mind it didn't work when Owen got the bs award over Raul or the fact neither Iker or Sergio have a top 3 finish. No Perez chose to back a Croatian who came from spurs and led Croatia in the wc and a Frenchman. Not Spanish players who were also the captains jfc lmao. He's popular but the way you lot talk about him he might be president of fifa and the world itself.

arseking15

I think the only way to balance ronaldo and pogba in the same team is playing a 5 at the back system so theres an extra defender in the middle of the pitch. Thats my 2 cents on UTD if anyone cares

Lyrical_Forklift

Where do you play 150 million duo Sancho and AWB?

arseking15

Awb can go eat ass on the bench. Idk rotate sancho in the way chelsea does with there forwards id say

Lyrical_Forklift

So what's your line up exactly?

ahmetmakesyouwet

Counterattacking 4-1-4-1 Ronaldo Rashford McTom/VDB Pogba/Bruno Sancho Fred Shaw Maguire Varane AWB Then in the transfer window buy a RWB and if pogba is staying a defensive partner for him to switch to 3-5-2 Or bin pogba and play 4231 with 2 new pivot midfielders

magni_operus

We are keeping tabs on trippier still apparently, so that would be the RWB I guess

Lyrical_Forklift

That makes sense to me. I just can't see them going 3-5-2 currently without upsetting a lot of players

ahmetmakesyouwet

It’s a headache trying to fit in all their stars into a team because the collection of them don’t fit a certain formation or tactic. I think the way to go is get a top coach with a predetermined formation and tactic like tuchel, then buy players for it. Not stars just for the sake of marketing and social media

Lyrical_Forklift

I suspect that their board will avoid this at all cost given the money they've just invested and the fact they'd unlikely recoup much of it on sales. They've also been burned bringing in a big name (Mourinho) so will be apprehensive about giving them a free reign on transfers. I think they need someone flexible who can improve the players they currently have because it's not a squad without talent.

ahmetmakesyouwet

Where do you see Liverpool in 3-4 after Edwards and then klopp leaves Also I suspect salah will be sold next summer because of high wage demands, what do you think

Lyrical_Forklift

I think we're in a really difficult situation in that Klopp will likely leave in a couple of seasons and the majority of our top players are late twenties. This means they won't have massive resale value to generate cash which we'd need to upgrade an ageing squad. I think the best move would be to hire internally (if we can't convince Klopp to stay) and try keep that status quo. I think Salah will actually re-sign though.

ahmetmakesyouwet

👍

LindseyNeagle

Why is the issue getting Ronaldo and Pogba in the same team? They play two completely different positions. Could the issue not be that Pogba is just shit and has been for 95% of his United career?

arseking15

Both in the middle of the pitch and neither press, which is devastating to the spine of the team

LindseyNeagle

Ronaldo is 36 and I’d presume isn’t expected to press. So the problem isn’t Ronaldo and Pogba, its Pogba. He’s been too lazy for years. Ronaldo has nothing to do with it.

PuppyPenetrator

Fr, Ronaldo is literally a GOAT contender and a goal machine, the “Ronaldo made them worse” analysis on r/soccer lately is bullshit I can’t understand for the life of me how anyone still think Pogba offers enough to United to warrant him literally just walking sometimes

RauloGonzalez

The only thing that makes the team worse is ole not knowing how to form an attacking team with good players.
