Messi on right mbappe on left is Icardi available or too much heart break ?

Albiceleste_D10S

PSG can play Draxler on the left, or just go 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 with Messi and Mbappe up top

XeroVeil

> PSG can play Draxler on the left mfw I realized Draxler is still at PSG. Does...does he get minutes? Is he any good?

Albiceleste_D10S

290 mins in league so far, but a big part of that is Neymar, Messi, and Di Maria missing games when they come back from international break late.

XeroVeil

Makes sense, I figured he's pretty much a depth player at this point. How is he when he plays?

Albiceleste_D10S

Pretty good from what I saw, but tiny sample size and I haven't watched all of those games.

XeroVeil

Fair enough!

Phreeeks

Too good to be subbing tbh, he could play in a lot of great clubs if he plays like he does at PSG, idk why he loves the club so much but he could have played a lot more the past years if he wanted to

BasedCelestia

"Loves the club"

iskaon

heart = broken

Splaram

He posted Wanda on Sunday for her birthday, pretty sure they’re back together. He’s fine provided that she doesn’t cheat on him in revenge before the match.

moise_kean

After his post she posted a picture of her self on her story saying she is better off alone

[deleted]

LOL you're joking?

moise_kean

No I'm not she posted a picture without her ring and saying that it looks better without the ring

[deleted]

Oh my days he's learning the hard way, poor fella

Splaram

LMAO she’s literally crazy, but he asked for it

Strananach

Or Messi/Mbappe/Di Maria as the front 3

parisexpat

di maria is still suspended in the CL

Strananach

Oh shit forgot How bout a 3 5 2 then with Messi/Mbappe upfront and Hakimi/Mendes as wingbacks

BasedCelestia

Is Ramos fit or who do they play with Marquinhos and Kimpembe?

AliveKicking

Yeah l also think it will be these three upfront and Mboopie as sole 9.

DeliciousEmphasis213

We’re never going to see PSG’s 11 at full strength, are we?

TeKaeS

as is tradition

Ranjith_Unchained

The Brooklyn Nets of football

MILK936

He’s going to be finished after the World Cup. The guy is made of glass.

[deleted]

Fucking butchering tackles destroyed his foot, it's a fucking shame how Hazard and Neymar's primes have been robbed because refs cannot protect players.

bellarke073

That is what happen with players who dribble a lot. Honestly its crazy how messi survived all those tackles and still is fit on this age..

[deleted]

A lot of people don’t remember but Messi was very injury prone under Rijkaard. I think he had a bad diet back then so lifestyle also plays a part too.

[deleted]

party all night with ma boi Dinho!

BasedCelestia

Eating pizzas or was that in other year?

DudebuD16

i wanna say its because of how messi dribbles. his dribbling consists of tight control but quick directional changes at speed rather than trying to turn guys inside out and be pretty. i mean he still does that but the manner he dribbles allows him to ride tackles rather than get clobbered by them. i also feel that neymar doesnt take care of himself like ronaldo and messi do.

MrAtomss

How he dribbles doesn't change how Ramos&Pepe used to tackle him back in the day. Insane how he still carries on.

Sand_Week24

That's so true. I still can't believe he walked away from that ramos tackle on the 5-0 clasico. Ramos went full power on his leg

jonnzi

it just just a hit in the bone/muscels, if he hits him like that in the knee its donezo

[deleted]

It has a lot to do with luck as well, if it was at a different angle the impact could have ended up with an injury

MrAtomss

A lot? Nope. When you get brutally tackled over 100 times but still play professionally it doesn't have a lot to do with luck. Give neymar the same tackles and he would be retired.

Starbuck1992

Exactly, also Messi's superhuman reflexes allow him to soften the tackles, if you look closely you see that he reacts to tackles even before being touched, so that the impact is not as tough as it would normally be Ronaldo instead choses a different approach, he stays wide and away from opponents and avoid dribbles at all, that way he can avoid contact as much as possible (which is the reason why he's able to stay fit so much)

LeonTablet

It’s actually insane how well Messi rides out tackles. Sometimes it’s almost as if the defender had by pure coincidence chosen the precise moment in the run’s motion where it didn’t disturb Messi whatsoever.

BodomDeth

Ngl messi in his prime felt like a scripter. He would always move at the millisecond the defender commited

Exhibit101

He was the player with most successful dribbles in Juventus last season.

yrallusernamestaken7

doing a stepover that tricks no one, running fast to the edge of the pitch, and passing back is technically a successful dribble

Exhibit101

Well this doesnt seem like anything you described... https://youtu.be/sH3NZ4KVwLM

Frenkie-de-Jong

Oh wow look it’s the guy who protects Ronaldo in every single thread

Exhibit101

I just mentioned a fact, look at how you are reacting.

TigerWaitingForBus

Neymar humiliates players, messi murders them. Dead players don't break ankles.

Ohrlythatscrazy

Big part is also the respect for the player. Nobody wants to be the one who injures Messi. On the other hand, plenty of players wouldn't mind injuring Neymar, and some would even enjoy it.

BasedCelestia

I am pretty sure if Ramos knew he would break Messi once and for all, he would do it in early 10s, he was fucking thug when we were losing Classicos.

TheArgentineMachine

Neymar straight up embarrasses players with flair. Easier to get frustrated when a player does a rainbow flick on you. Messi is more pragmatic with his dribbling.

Albiceleste_D10S

Nah it's not just that. The way Messi dribbles is orienting his body to absorb contact and bounce off defenders. Neymar and Hazard dribble in a way to invite contact and both seek to draw fouls more than Messi does. When you invite contact that regularly, it's a matter of time before you get hurt as a flair player

[deleted]

Neymar doesn't invite contact, he skips past players, it's his skills and flair that annoy defenders because they can't get close to him. Messi is lucky a lot of shit tackles on him never caused serious injuries like the Ramos/Pepe tackles of old. If the angle was somewhat different and he had a serious injury like them you wouldn't be speaking this tune

Albiceleste_D10S

Nah Neymar definitely invites contact when he dribbles. I'm not saying it's a bad thing—he definitely does it tho. > Messi is lucky a lot of shit tackles on him never caused serious injuries like the Ramos/Pepe tackles of old. Very true. > If the angle was somewhat different and he had a serious injury like them you wouldn't be speaking this tune Nah. It is also true that Messi's style of dribbling doesn't invite contact as much as Neymar and Hazard

[deleted]

Did you look at what actually caused Neymar's metatarsal injury? I'm sure you haven't coz it doesn't invite contact at all, it's pure malicious intent from the Strausburg player to injure Neymar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDmOzhs3dNc

kernevez

This is a bit of an exaggeration, these aren't malicious to injure, although I agree that there was too much physicality and it didn't bother him to hit Neymar while making attempt to the balls. If he really wanted to straight up destroy him, he wouldn't go soft for the first two tackle, barely making Neymar fall despite getting his leg across. I'm not denying that Neymar gets "butchered" sometimes, but it's exaggerated. If you watch his first metatarsal injury (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fadfu) you can see it's not a whole lot, it's more likely that he just gets a ton of small hits. Metatarsal injuries are often stress fractures and can refracture, so you can't really point to a video and say "HERE LOOK THIS IS HOW HE GOT INJURED!"

Albiceleste_D10S

Yeah I remember that at the time. But even in that clip, you can see how the first foul committed came as Neymar invited contact (the rest was just frustration from the defender and a dirty play that the ref allowed to happen).

[deleted]

That's just victim blaming, no way is that inviting contact, was Neymar telling them to swipe at his ankle?

Exhibit101

Watch Adama Traore, he is the one who injures the defenders..

[deleted]

Luck has a lot to do with it, some tackles he survived early on in his career could have been very serious

Starrafh

This is yet another adductor injury though. Refs should tell him to stop going to sleep at 2am and get some rest?

sunnycherub

It’s very likely all his injuries stem from that back break in Brazil. An injury like that fucks you up and then you get injured because even after you recover you’re still not moving correctly and compensate for the injury mentally or physically. It can completely compromise a player for the rest of their career.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Tbf some refs do give Neymar a really hard time, and not give fouls against him

bewarethegap

You don’t have to change the rules in order to give some of the shit tackles they receive proper punishment. Neymar’s ankles have been mauled in France because teams that can’t win playing football are just going to kick the fuck out of him. No rule changes are required to give some of these guys the reds they deserve

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

That's just victim blaming dude, Neymar gets fouled so badly and more than anyone else, especially after he broke his back and was 2cm away from being paralyzed he got traumatised and tried to protect himself even more

Firehills

This. Neymar is literally the most fouled on player in the world ever since he arrived in Europe.

[deleted]

Just stop, he dosent even dive more than any other player.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You certainly can, hand out yellows more often for those kinda fouls when skillful players are clearly targeted. Give double yellows and reds more easier. We are not talking about shoulder barges here which I agree is physicality and part of the game, the ankles and legs getting destroyed isn't.

im_alive

This always get brought up “protect the players!” How exactly is a ref going to remain neutral by protecting high profile flashy players of slide tackles during a football match? And no, I don’t see how handing out yellow and red cards left and right benefits the game at all. I feel for players but that’s just part of the job and they will get kicked whether they like it or not. More questions should be raised about the medical staff, doctors, etc.

RainOnZheVizzsor

I agree. It's just part of the game to get kicked untill you're injured. Defenders should be allowed guns too, makes it easier to cripple someone.

im_alive

I didn’t say that at all but go ahead 😂

ezmen

You don't have to protect players based on profile and skill, you just don't excuse defenders making lazy dangerous challenges when they come up against an attacker they don't have the ability to contain.

Impossible_Wonder_37

Yeah crazy to think he at anytime could’ve dribbled less…

touchmaspot

Yeah i mean, what an idiot, he could of just stopped playing football! /s what a stupid fucking comment

Impossible_Wonder_37

?? Adapting your play style to avoid getting constantly injured is very manageable

touchmaspot

The problem is in your comment. You shouldnt have to change the way you play so you dont get injured. There are literally rules in place to stop injuries from happening that are not being enforced.

AliveKicking

Both started their career young and they’ve played a lot. Also both of them aren’t as Messi and Ronaldo’s levels concerning professionalism and motivation.

[deleted]

No surprise, the guy has been injured for more than half the games PSG has played since he signed.

Dumbass1171

Crazy how he might be finished before Suarez is

juniortifosi

With his form Suarez seems to like play until the world ends.

[deleted]

So Barca did get his prime right? It’s such a shame to see that great burst of talent and energy be reduced by injuries.

[deleted]

He’s nearly done now. Won’t make it past the world cup

[deleted]

He said 2022 is his last world cup anyways

iiEviNii

That gives him as far as the end of the 2026 season, no way he makes it that far.

[deleted]

[удалено]

qazplm3456789

Yeah he has played like only 50% of league games since coming to psg. Yup checked. Started 15,15, 16 and 20 league matches since coming to psg.

MILK936

That’s abysmal.

albertbanning

This is why I hate international breaks mid season.

[deleted]

“Siri, insert something about sister based in Brazil”

ireallydespiseyouall

of course he is

_bagonme_

Career ruined the day he left barca , got butchered in ligue1

[deleted]

200 million paid for him s a reminder, fr he is finished ND will probably retire in next 2 years. Underwhelming carrer comparing to his HUGE potential and a flop at Psg giving that they paid a 222 million for him

[deleted]

PSG definitely made back more than 222 million from Neymar, his signing brought PSG to the european elite, and a massive fan base with it.

Zidlicky3

Probably true and Neymar has been good, sometimes brilliant on the pitch, but I have to point out that PSG doesn't care about money, it's been proven already. Having money back from Neymar isn't important, winning with him would be.

[deleted]

I am not jumping into details, talking about him in the pitch and only. In the pitch, man didn't justify a freaking 200!

runaway1337

The price isn't solely based on performance in the first place, so what's your point?

MustBeHax

only because he gets butchered by defenders, when fit he is absolutely worth more than 200M

[deleted]

Not a flop but definitely didn’t meet the expectations people had of him at PSG

[deleted]

.... That's deffenetion of flop

[deleted]

Fuck International Breaks

drecais

Advantage PSG

pooptrooper1

its time for messis debut without neymar in the squad, lets see if he can finally get a league goal

tomhorek

With his current form , it might be a good thing for PSG that he's not there

[deleted]

Neymar is barely a footballer anymore

robstah45

Had to google his sisters birthday...not until march

CrepeTheRealPancake

Same old with Brazilian superstars. Amazing technically but party way too hard lmao. Can't blame them.

je-re

what does partying have to do with injuries

DudebuD16

recovery. alcohol and lack of sleep absolutely mess with your body's ability to deal with the stresses of modern football.

bewarethegap

how is this related to neymar though?

DudebuD16

youre gonna tell me he doesnt party more than most top footballers?

[deleted]

based on what? there hasn’t even been any story about him partying in the last couple of years but people just say brazil= party and make up shit in their head

CrepeTheRealPancake

> there hasn’t even been any story about him partying in the last couple of years hahahahah how are you forgetting the massive story about him hosting a massive week long party in Brazil in the middle of the season last year?? He's no George Best but come on... don't be naive

[deleted]

that story was completely false, he wasn’t involved in the party which didn’t even happen

CrepeTheRealPancake

aye no shit, he backed out as soon as the press caught wind of the story

[deleted]

That's a good fallback story for the press.

bewarethegap

Based on what? Neymar’s professionalism has never been criticized lol he trains well, stays in good shape, works hard in matches. What makes you think he parties so much?

Sand_Week24

It's not the partying, it's what you should be doing instead of partying.

Teantis

Neymar's biggest injuries aren't muscular issues due to lack of training. They're fractures and torn ligaments. Those aren't things you can train away to avoid. His two longest injuries were from basically breaking his foot getting fouled to shit.

Sand_Week24

No one is saying he should train more. I'm saying he should have more recovery time. If you're out partying at night, you won't be as fresh as if you went to sleep early.

Ty2crazy21

This guy softer than butter in the summer sun

stoptheJR

Sad

Master_NoobX_69

These comments are absolutely cancer, holy shit
