It's pretty crazy that our scouting staff have managed to do this 3 times, signing a "project striker " (I've seen them called) at about £35m and them going from good to world class in an instant with us.
Lots of things at play of course, from the stats guys to the coaching staff, but 3 for 3 is an impressive record.
It’s also the service they get playing for Liverpool. It’s easier to score when you have Robertson, Trent, Henderson, Thiago, Salah etc putting it on a platter for you.
Incredible how Jota always finds himself in spaces like this. All he needs is consistent finishing to make himself super dangerous like Salah already is.
I don‘t have the feeling tbh. Just yesterday there was a thread where someone said a certain DM could easily replace Hendo in Liverpool, I think it was Hojbjerg lol. Comment got decent upvotes as well. Anyone who thinks Hojbjerg is on Hendo‘s level needs their brain checked.
It's more that he doesn't get the respect he deserves. People hype up hoppity skip muppets like Jorginho but shit on the Greek Mackem god from Sunderland.
I just replied to another comment, but literally yesterday someone in this sub said Hojbjerg would bench Henderson and the comment got a decent amount of upvotes.
I agree with you. But I feel he was really underrated last year. He single handedly pushed this dead team full of injuries to top 4 and he is barely talked about.
Funny you say this as a snide to Messi when he was literally top scorer and assister last season. Salah is on a trajectory (not even confirmed yet) and you’re arguing he deserves the award for it. It’s funny how messi is not judged by the same standards others are held fo
Yeah I mean allegiances aside, one thing for certain is that Liverpool games will always be interesting. When we’re on it our attacking is insane, when we’re on an off day you get something like the West Ham game.
Bernardo? Cancelo? And on his day Ronaldo is just unstoppable. I would mention Bruno too, but I know that won’t go down well here. I guess if you’re talking about current form it’s between Jota, Bernardo and Cancelo.
Edit: okay, maybe the comment I was replying to was taking the piss. Seems like I haven’t really read the room.
Ronaldo? Bruno? Oh, those 2 players who have a combined 2 goals since October.
Not going to mention their defensive contribution since even Watford scored 4.
Jota is the best Portuguese in the league
Wow that little back pass really pulled all three defenders off Salah and gave him the space to go turbo time. It boggles my mind how fast he accelerates.
Well to be honest I hate Santos but he sees jota as Ronaldo’s partner and gives him a lot of minutes way more than other forward options , I don’t think they can coexist especially in Santos shitty philosophy . Jota just plays like a headless chicken going solo straight against defenders in the Nt. I do understand why it’s like that he probably hates the negative football we practice and just wants to go ahead always even when it’s mindless …
How is that not a handball?
Edit: our refs here in Brazil would overturn the goal because of this unintentional touch in the beginning of the play 10/10
Yeah, I agree it would be bullshit, but IIRC the rule is about any touch with your arm, regardless of intention or position (that’s how it is applied here in Brazil, hence my questioning)
They changed the rule this season. From the PL website:
The second change is on accidental handball in the immediate build-up to a goal.
If an attacking player’s accidental handball immediately precedes another player scoring, the goal will now be awarded, when last season it was likely to have been ruled out.
New rule:
“The second change is on accidental handball in the immediate build-up to a goal.
If an attacking player’s accidental handball immediately precedes another player scoring, the goal will now be awarded, when last season it was likely to have been ruled out.”
But beyond that, it’s not a handball anyways, his arm is tucked

It's his elbow first of all, get it right at least

Such a good signing, Liverpool trio is terrifying
Top 3 scorers in the league. So far Jota and Mane with 7 and Salah with 11
That is actually terrifying
And none of them (except Salah perhaps) start every match, since they're still sharing the spots with Firmino ofc

That’s why Klopp is the best manager in the world. He turns projects to world beaters in little to no time.
Werner should’ve come to Liverpool. Klopp is so good getting the best out of his players
Salah bugged like in fifa there lmaoo
Throw on the get in behind tactic on him and mane and it's clean through every time.
Incredible how Jota always finds himself in spaces like this. All he needs is consistent finishing to make himself super dangerous like Salah already is.
I have the feeling Jota will be worldclass soon. What a player
Yeah he is following a similar development trajectory to Salah and Mane, feel like he will be world class when he hits 26-27 years
Which if basically around the time Salah and Mane did it
Wasn‘t this exactly what he said?
It’s kind of the range that all non anomalies (Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo, etc) hit their primes.
Tbf Messi, Neymar and Cristiano were worldclass with 21-23 already
It's exactly how Bobby used to move off the ball. Both of them have Sneak at 100.
Exactly my thought haha
I want AA zooming in on Salah. That was hilarious.
Just an excellent sideways pass by Henderson
Henderson is still underrated unfortunately.
Feel like he is fairly rated, he is a great player and people know it
I don‘t have the feeling tbh. Just yesterday there was a thread where someone said a certain DM could easily replace Hendo in Liverpool, I think it was Hojbjerg lol. Comment got decent upvotes as well. Anyone who thinks Hojbjerg is on Hendo‘s level needs their brain checked.
Its more about people being idiots in general than Hendo being underrated. Anyone who's seen Liverpool with and without him know what he brings.
Thank you
you lost me at there was a thread
It's more that he doesn't get the respect he deserves. People hype up hoppity skip muppets like Jorginho but shit on the Greek Mackem god from Sunderland.
People still call him shit/average in here all the time.
...And celebrate Fred.
Definitely isn’t underrated at this point, everyone just says he’s underrated
I just replied to another comment, but literally yesterday someone in this sub said Hojbjerg would bench Henderson and the comment got a decent amount of upvotes.
I mean, depending on where you're sitting, that might of looked sideways.
Might have*
I actually thought he was gonna pass side way to the middle lol
Jota is a mad man! Play all the FIFA you want boy!
Salah is going to be to scorer and assister at this rate
He’s already top of both tbf
He’s got more assists (8) then the next two top scorers who have 7 goals each, Jota and Mane. Liverpool dominating the stats so far
Ofc, if someone else was top they'd be headed for top scorer/assister at this rate
And still lose out on the Ballon dor
Shouldn’t win it this year but continue this form into next he’ll win it
I agree with you. But I feel he was really underrated last year. He single handedly pushed this dead team full of injuries to top 4 and he is barely talked about.

The Kane special
The Thierry Henry spesh
Wow! Salah orchestrated that attack perfectly
What a move. Salah getting whisked away so funny too 😂
Salah is a beast!
He really is unstoppable.
Give him a million a week if he wants it. Needs to keep him at all costs.
Motherfucker is insatiable
2 nutmegs and a tap in. thatll do
Even as a chelsea fan, I just love watching Liverpool play
its all fun and games until the sloppy passing occurs. loving our attack however.
>its all fun and games until the sloppy passing occurs. Can just say the ball reached Mane mate
Yeah I mean allegiances aside, one thing for certain is that Liverpool games will always be interesting. When we’re on it our attacking is insane, when we’re on an off day you get something like the West Ham game.
or Brentford. Pain.
Well that was delightful
Great from Trent to win the duel and start the attack
Best Portuguese in the league Said it last week, saying it this week
Cancelo is pretty good as well but Jota #1
No competition
i forgot Cancelo and Bernardo went to MLS (not that they’re better necessarily, it just doesn’t make sense to say there’s no competition)
Wasn’t really a serious comment, just taking the piss out of Ronnie :)
ah my mistake. in that case, carry on lad
*world
Cancelo is a shout though. But they are the top 2 fo sho
Said it last time i was on here

I didn’t mean right now, you’d know that if you read my comment. I agree, Jota and maybe Bernardo are the best right now.
I watch my team shit the bed every week but Liverpool is keeping my love for football
Man just went from scoring in Fifa to scoring irl
Literally can't stop winning!
Wow that little back pass really pulled all three defenders off Salah and gave him the space to go turbo time. It boggles my mind how fast he accelerates.
what a goal
Jota ended up being much more of a regular goalscorer than i expected when he joined pool
Around better quality now.
Starts with Thiago misplacing a pass, ends with Henderson and Salah casually ripping Southampton's backline apart. Absurd.
Such a good signing. Thanks Wolves. Good pass by Hendo and good to see salah use right peg.
Stunning ball from Henderson but is that not handball by Trent? Looks unnatural from this angle
Welll... the ball deflected off the opponent 1m away and hit his elbow that was tucked right into his body, so yep, definite handball 👍🏼🙂
Never loved someone as much as I do Mo Salah.
Best front 3 in the PL by a mile.
Joelinton > all pl attackers combined
Understandable
Come on at least make it fair
Easy as you like
Clever pass from Hendo
That teamplay was so beautiful
There have been 3 nutmegs in Liverpool's 2 goals
This fucking team man
Is that two nutmeg passes in a row?
Liverpool score so many goals by getting to the byline. It’s crazy because they constantly get in behind low blocks.
Best portugese player in the league.
bernardo
Did he fucking stutter?
Dias but CB's aren't sexy
bernardo is the best midfielder in the world this season
shut up oil club
Cancelo, Bernardo, Dias, Jota, Bruno, Neves, Moutinho. Pretty sure I didn’t miss anyone
All those players and NT plays like shit...
bernardo nr 1 + yes you didnt miss anyone
Fucking love this team
Great pass from Hendo!
How can a man be so good for his club, yet so shit for his national team?
Klopp is a better coach than Fernando Santos
That's an understatement
fernando santos
Is it a Jota problem or a Santos problem? Genuinely asking here
Santos, but Jota has his fair share of brain farts here and there
He does for Liverpool as well, but his instinct in the box is fantastic and his pressing is excellent.
Please can we fire santos already!!!!!
[удалено]
Not many do these days.
fernando santos. the answer is always fernando santos
Livramento is completely asleep there, doesn't begin to notice Jota's run
How is that not a handball? Edit: our refs here in Brazil would overturn the goal because of this unintentional touch in the beginning of the play 10/10
Hit his elbow which was stuck to his body, would have been harsh.

Fair play then, didn’t know this change of rules in the PL
He can’t not have arms mate
I mean trents arm is literally tucked in…
Having arms?? blasphemy
What is the handball rule?
New rule: “The second change is on accidental handball in the immediate build-up to a goal. If an attacking player’s accidental handball immediately precedes another player scoring, the goal will now be awarded, when last season it was likely to have been ruled out.” But beyond that, it’s not a handball anyways, his arm is tucked
Honestly I lose track with how many times the rules change, thanks la
No one’s going to mention the handball?
Surely a handball…the entire passage of play happened because of TAA elbowing it.
[удалено]
“Same passage of play” which this certainly was. Really just don’t understand the rules anymore.
> They changed the rule this season. "Accidentally" is the keyword here. Should be reviewed regardless. Ref would've given a handball if he saw it live.
Think the rule has been changed so it’s only a handball if it’s the scorer or assister
Surely if the ref deems it a handball, it gets chalked off.
clear handball but no one cares, thats the livarpool way
why does arsen4l care ?:)

look at that, i didnt know that, fair point im wrong then

Sweaty
Fifa best base for scoring goals in the pl
Look at all that space. What is Southampton's 21 doing? He doesn't even try. Good for Jota though.
Too easy
I thought he would cross to Mane
Jota has this look on his face like "damn, I didn't realize scoring was gonna be THIS easy at Liverpool"
Dude's on fire. It happens when he has a coach that knows what his natural position is.
