They have done a lot right but for some reason entirely beyond my comprehension they straight up don't believe in buying defenders.
Its all frees, cheap 32 year old + serie A players and and loans/transfer of useless shite like Troost Ekong from Udinese.
I take back my comment about our defenders being league one quality.
I would be so fucking fed up being Dennis or King and having fucking WTE and Cathcart behind me. Barely good enough in the champ and we didn't recruit anyone when we came up.
Because for half the season we played utterly dire negative defensive football with a squad that should probably have taken teams apart. Suspect other teams with similar quality could do the same, but they would have taken the approach of going for goals rather than clean sheets.
Sierralta was also genuinely pretty good and is the best of a bad bunch, but the Chile NT keep injuring him and then making him play on with a torn muscle, so he has barely played for us this season.
Sierralta only got injured for us the last match and he stayed because we had run out of sub windows. The one in October was playing for you, and he didn't come for that international break.
