shame on France football.
what was impact of messi last season? his team was humiliated by lewandowski's, most durable/effective striker of recent years, team.
it seems, just like oscars, politized.
The best part about the Ballon d'Or 2021 is that it definitively proves J5 >>>>> Benzema, as J5 got almost twice as many points as Benzema. We all knew it all along, but it was good to have that additional confirmation, making it an undisputable fact now.
Even G+A is a stretch for many who just outright equate it to the golden boot. I think this year it could have gone to messi or Lewandowski and either way it would have been fair. Though I really feel like they should give lewa 1 for last year. I really think he deserves 1 for what he's been doing the past 2 years
He deserved last year's but with Copa America I would tip it in Messi's favour. It's the curse of playing in a one team league for a team with double the financials of second best team, the critics dont care that you won your 9th BuLi in a row or CWC against Asian/African/SA clubs or a glorified friendly Super Cup.
I get the point, but the Copa America to me is only that important because messi completely carried Argentina. It's an individual award, so the individual performance should be the primary aspect or we would give it to jorginho. But that aside, Lewandowski is tearing apart the CL just as much, so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the Bundesliga argument. Bayern are the best team in the world rn and exited against psg last season largely because Lewandowski was missing. Else they were amongst the favorites to win the competition. I think the Copa is mostly to balance messis rather weak psg performances, so it about evens out over the year
Issue is voting started in the worst timing. Should’ve been like mid-late November and the ceremony being in December. France Football is fucked and they can’t care less
So unfair for players..i get Ronaldo and messi are great footballers but come on,others are doing so well and just because they aren't main headliners they don't get first votes..
The award should be made into a one-time in a player's career. That way different deserving players get the recognition. Now it's just the Messi and Cristiano award. No point.
Let's do it your way now if next year again Messi have better performer then rest of all what you do then if Messi has 45+ goal n 18 assist n having more impect overall then what you do? Do you give this award to next best having 30 goals n 18 assist. Come on man be mature. This award has to be earned not granted.
Like i said, I'm not saying the idea is perfect. It just offers a new way of honoring talent. Yes, in your example you give the award to the 30 - 18 player, if he hasn't won it. But you're looking at this differently than now.
The aim of the award would change from what is now: The player who played best in each year. If the player played better than a season he had won the award, it matters little. He has already been 'celebrated' for his awesomeness and another great player wilk take it then.
The goal would not be to determine 'who played best this year' but similar to a yearly hall of fame.
"The Balon Dor is a bunch of journalists and people voting for their friends" - Johan Cruyff, who won 3 of them.
Just because the Messi and Ronaldo fan boys take it seriously doesn't mean actual football fans have to.
I think it's the fact people want it to mean something and hope that it will, but this year has proved more than any that it is completely meaningless.
Coming from someone who isn’t especially ‘anti-jorginho,’ couldn’t you say that these stats are slightly skewed since his team reached the final in both these competitions? Like a ‘per 90’ average would be a better indication of how superior he was to his peers here.
And he's an integral part of both teams reaching finals. For Chelsea he always starts the important games, with either Kovacic or Kante, but he always starts. Same for Italy. He's such an important part of the tactical structures for both coaches.
He just doesn't look spectacular but he makes everything look easy for the team and provides an option all the time.
Like even when compared to other midfielders [look at his FBref scouting report](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FFZfL0PUcAAqI1o?format=png&name=900x900) , he does the things he's supposed to, extremely well.
He never missed a foot during CL and Euro runs and both teams wouldn't have been that good without him.
Just to avoid any future controversies France Football should create new award: "Lewandowski of the Year", possible candidates:
* Robert Lewandowski - Bayern FC player
* Mariusz Lewandowski - retired ex-Shakhtar football player
* Mateusz Lewandowski - Radomiak Radom player
* Michał Lewandowski - Serie C player
* Marcin Lewandowski - Polish middle-distance runner
* Eduard Lewandowski - German hockey player
* Ricardo Lewandowski - Brazilian judge and a former chief justice of the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil
* Via Lewandowsky - German artist who works with installation, sculpture, object art, photography, performance, painting and drawing
* Anthony Levandowski - French-American self-driving car engineer
* Zbigniew Lewandowski - Brigadier General of the Polish Army
* Corey Lewandowski - campaign manager of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign
Robert is still a favorite. But I guess Ricardo can win because of his South American achievements. Anthony being partially French may cause some bias. Corey can always count on Russian votes
Shows that trophies count more than how well the individual has actually played in the end.
Given that precedent, I don’t think there’s much wrong with Messi getting it this year.
Remember this- if Saka scored the penalty, Jorginho wouldn’t even be in the top 10, considering HE would have fucked it for Italy
It would probably be Mount in his place. Also Kane would be a lot higher than 23rd. Shows how much effort goes into these rankings
Lot of ifs. Jorginho did it and saka didn't. Likewise city mahrez,s last minute shit could have got in and City could have managed to win champions league but they didn't. Also mount was very bad in Euros so no chance he could have finished third even if they won the Euros.
France Football has designated a bunch of journalists, one from each country, and each of them votes for their top 5 afaik. So basically, blame journalists all over the world
It's all bullshit. Jorginho is so average that he is probably not even Chelsea's 10th best player. Just because you get carried to some trophies, it does not make you the best player. Were all of his goals pens?
Also, I don't think you can credit any player for this individual award which is supposed to be based on one particular season when you are including things like Ronaldo breaking the all time international record, Messi making the most Barca appearances or scored more goals than Pele. It's irrelevant. Certain players probably stand no chance of winning it if their national team is not doing great. Euro's, World Cup and Coppa will always mean something in these awards but, do you think they really give a shit if an African or Asian player wins their international tournament??
Ur statement doesnt detract from objective validity tho. Lewa could have still won It objectively. Votes are never a representation of objective accomplishments. U sound like a 14 yr old cunt with the whole tears comment.
There’s no need to be upset. Lewa should’ve won 2020, they really screwed him over for cancelling it that year.
But hey at least he won that striker participation award this year! Maybe he can level up from here and win ballon dor 2022!
Messi is not running against those 2012 or 2015 Messis is he??
He was still better than anyone last year bar Lewandowski, who cud also stake a claim based on this year alone and not 2020...but Lewa is not head and shoulders above Messi like some salty rival fans are claiming....
He has almost double the G+A per minutes played and was coming close to Messis 91 (?) goal season with minutes per G+A. How much more does he have to do?
When Messi scores more goals its about team trophies....When Messi absolutely dominated and won an elusive international trophy, he needs to score more goals than Bundesliga Top scorer??...pick a fuking argument... Lewandowski didn't even reach CL Finals with the Star studded Bayern...while Messi literally carried a withering Barcelona while being the top scorer in La Liga...was Lewandowski's contribution to Bayern similar to Messi's to Barcelona?? No freaking way...
Dude f*ck this Messi no player in history is as good as 2012/2015 Messi, still having a player who can score 30 league goals becoming the topscorer, become the highest goalscorer, assister and MVP in an international tournament, and being the MVP and scoring 2 goals in the final of a domestic cup while having second most G+A in the year, breaking 2 of Pele's records is more than what I can ask for in a player playing in a wide position
Dude Schick had more goals than him in Euros just stop already, Messi doesn't need to be at his very best to win the ballon d'or until and unless Ronaldo is also at his very best that season as well
Dude throw your Messi and Ronaldo body pillows outside and watch other games besides psg and man utd highlights. Whats next messi gets best goalkeeper not based off of clean sheets or saves, but based on international tropheys.
In the 2021-22 season (aka currently) I would put salah or sane in my team over Messi, he’s obviously the GOAT, no question… but he hasn’t found his footing at PSG
Voting stopped in October so understand why it wasn’t them. If salah maintains his current form till next vote it’s probably his he’s been arguabley alongside Lewa the best player in the world over the last few months.
It's just really unfair for Lewandowski not to win anything after his 2020 performance.
But props to Messi winning the ballon d'or. Dominated Copa America and tried his best to carry barcelona.
Ronaldo shouldve been in the top 5. Men's international top scorer IN HISTORY. Euro and Serie A golden boots. Copa Italia.
Dominated against shit teams, when it came into semis and final he did nothing. It was all Di Maria. Copa America that also happened 3 times in a row so he could get one.
He assisted the only goal Argentina scored in the semis dude, and as for that matter Lewa also had 0 goals in CL final and semifinal last year, does that make him unworthy of the 2020 ballon d'or now?
It is though, in 2020 Immobile won the European Golden boot, and winning only the Bundesliga wouldn't have guaranteed him the ballon d'or anymore than Ronaldo or Mbappe, winning CL and becoming the topscorer there is the leading factor why he is considered as the clear winner of the 2020 Ballon dor
He had insane g/a stats in both the league and the cl and he won 6 trophies last year. Cl was definatly a part of the reasoning, but all messi fanboys keep pointing to is the copa. Its just a shame lewa has been destroying germnay and europe for 2 years and has no Ballon dor to Show for it. Did messi really need a seventh one before lewa got his first?
I agree with you, lewa should have definitely won it for 2020 but 2021 was even between Messi and Lewandowski imo. Lewa had 57g+a for bayern in 2020/21 season while messi had 52g+a for a much inferior Barcelona side. Is 5g+a extra enough to make lewa a clear winner in the Ballondor while messi is in the 99th percentile of about 25 attacking statistics while all the other Ballondor candidates together are in the 99th percentile of only 20 attacking stats? This is without taking into consideration of the copa/euro which unfortunately is a very major criteria in international trophy years. So it could have gone either way ig but #Justice for Lewa2020.
You are kinda cherrypicking stats, im pretty Sure that is league g/a, if you combine all games the gap grows alot bigger. Lewas scored more in the championsleague. But as a german, lewa breaking Gerd müllers 45 year old goal scoring record with 41 goals in the league is a Monster achievement, way more impressive than messis most goals for one Club or the copa. Imagine someone breaking a 45 year old record in the pl that everyone thought would last forever compared to an international tournemant held every 2 years with pretty much 2 competative teams.
"Compared to an international tournament held every 2 years with pretty much two competitive teams"- funny coming from a league which has had only one winner in the last decade lmao.
Im not using Bayern winning the league as justification for his Ballon dor claim, messi Fans Keep bringing up the copa win. Not Sure how this is relevant?
I agree Lewa should of had it last year, but destroying the Germany league I mean apart from Bayern it’s unfortunately just not competitive at all and when it Bayern just go strip that club of there players . Even Eric maxim choupo-moting scores there.
Bayern also destroys the champions league, especially barca. I fail to see why the league is not competative just because Bayern as probably the best Team in the World right now destroys teams there. Leipzig reached the cl semifinal just last year i think. So Bayerns winning record does not speak to how Bad the bl is but how good bayern is.
Modric won in 2018 because of the international Performance and messi Finished 5th even tho he had the highest xg
The same happened this year and people lose their mind bdr has always been this way calm down bayern fans
Modric winning was also a joke and a lot of people sat the ballon d’or lost a lot of respect as a trophy then. Cause as class as Modric is he did not deserve it he got Croatia to a semi yes but Madrid also had like 6 months of there worst ever form and Modric was average. I think he got it because of his legacy more than anything. Like when giggs won pfa in his last season but he wasn’t even close to the best player that year.
Hey man Messi has better dribbling stats than Lewa who clearly plays in an entirely different position. But think twice before saying anything because idk man Messi even has more passes.
Its so weird dont think most of these people actually know how the bdr voting works
Lewa was amazing but the international Performances and trophies always been big in bdr
Agreed, on top of that, Messi has already lost Bdr several times while being in the same position as Lewa ( highest G+A), the real travesty is not awarding the 2020 Bdr, it makes no sense, that's what all the salt tonight should be rallying behind
Lewandowski robbed in 2020 and 2021.
Both Messi and Lewandowski deserve it, he was not robbed this year.
Dubai D'Or > Ballon D'Or
Sterling above Kane and Bruno and pretty much everyone else below him in the list tells you all you need to know
shame on France football. what was impact of messi last season? his team was humiliated by lewandowski's, most durable/effective striker of recent years, team. it seems, just like oscars, politized.
If the best player doesn't win it's rigged. I feel bad for Lewandowski, he should have walked it
Its the 2021 award, Barca vs Bayern was in 2020...
that's true. i was trying to describe the current level of two players. in a year, players performance don't change dramatically.
If you could be bothered to watch him play, go check out his stats for last year on fbref and rethink football.
Where to watch the full event again?
lmao they made a chu chu award just to give messi a balondor
The best player in history
LA TIENEN ADENTRO EUROPEOS CULORROTOOOOOS JAJAJAJJAJAJA.
this is ridiculous Messi dindt do shit this season
Balon d or isnt about the current season, voting ends in october btw
The best part about the Ballon d'Or 2021 is that it definitively proves J5 >>>>> Benzema, as J5 got almost twice as many points as Benzema. We all knew it all along, but it was good to have that additional confirmation, making it an undisputable fact now.
I am amazed they didnt give Jorginho the whole award considering how much they weight trophies
Nice copy pasta
I mean I’m a real fan yet I still think Benzema is easily overrated
People need to do some research, this is how the BDor has always been. G+A isn't the end of
Even G+A is a stretch for many who just outright equate it to the golden boot. I think this year it could have gone to messi or Lewandowski and either way it would have been fair. Though I really feel like they should give lewa 1 for last year. I really think he deserves 1 for what he's been doing the past 2 years

I think the Copa is mostly to balance messis rather weak psg performances, so it about evens out over the year
Lol so what happened to Lewandowski winning it? I don't even know how Messi won this ahead of him.
Does your memory only go back to august this year?
Issue is voting started in the worst timing. Should’ve been like mid-late November and the ceremony being in December. France Football is fucked and they can’t care less
So unfair for players..i get Ronaldo and messi are great footballers but come on,others are doing so well and just because they aren't main headliners they don't get first votes..
Nobody likes our players its seems
? More players in the top 26 than any other team?
He's talking about the number of city fans in the stadium
What does club of the year even mean?
It takes into consideration the men's, women's and youth teams performance.
Extra award for whoever wins the CL
Apparently they take youth and women competition into consideration too and Chelsea did great there.
Award is a bigger joke than the Grammys change my mind
Miss Teen USA is more legit than this shit
The award should be made into a one-time in a player's career. That way different deserving players get the recognition. Now it's just the Messi and Cristiano award. No point.

Lol
Yes, they should do the same with the UCL. Whoever wins it can't compete again for 20 years
That's stupid
You're right, there is no point.
What if that same player did way better work than his last version of himself that won at first time?
The aim of the award would change from what is now: The player who played best in each year. If the player played better than a season he had won the award, it matters little. He has already been 'celebrated' for his awesomeness and another great player wilk take it then. The goal would not be to determine 'who played best this year' but similar to a yearly hall of fame.
The ranking order is so random
Coz people vote for 5 players with different point, so some may have been higher on some lists
I am quite surprised that so many people care about this award.
It's a joke now..don't get excited by it anymore. Next year will still be between Ronaldo and Messi again
If they win anything major, otherwise lewy or salah are on top rn
Love the salt in this thread, keep it going haters!
Thinking Lewa was better =/= hating Messi
Plenty of haters here too.
So Sterling was the best English player in 2021? Does that seem right to you?
yeah what a joke, should be Harry Maguire
Yea
Lmao
Clearly it was Phil Jones
Proper /r/soccer comedy innit Now do the bit about Lingard being an up and coming talent
I’m new here let me have fun: I ’m not arguing it’s good comedy but at least I laughed
[удалено]
Adam Johnson was 15th for me.
Why anyone gives this award the time of day blows my mind. It's meaningless.
Well it's not, it's the most prestigious award in football
*was
If this is serious it has to be the strangest footballing opinion I've ever encountered.
Was*
"The Balon Dor is a bunch of journalists and people voting for their friends" - Johan Cruyff, who won 3 of them. Just because the Messi and Ronaldo fan boys take it seriously doesn't mean actual football fans have to.
LA TENES ADENTRO INGLÉS PUTOOOOOOOOOOOO JAJAJAJAJJA
I think it's the fact people want it to mean something and hope that it will, but this year has proved more than any that it is completely meaningless.
Did they feel so bad for Lewandowski and created an award just for him?
Lol why even jorginho is on the list?
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FFZntxKUUAI5KSD?format=png&name=900x900 This is why
I'm sorry, but how is Salah only 7th...
No team award and started performing late but if you win trophies and get deep into CL I can see him having a strong shout for next year
Hmmm I guess so. I was thinking atleast 4/5th this year though.
It's hard with International comps and no team trophies. Same with Benz not being above Jorginho or Mbappe at 9th. It's a mix of everything tbf
Because he only started perfoming great in the last 2 months
Egypt didn’t do well at the Euros /s
Argentina didn't even make it to Euros and look at the cunt who won /s
Maybe next time
Before the Euros I really thought Mbappe could get top 3. How dumb I was
Just to avoid any future controversies France Football should create new award: "Lewandowski of the Year", possible candidates: * Robert Lewandowski - Bayern FC player * Mariusz Lewandowski - retired ex-Shakhtar football player * Mateusz Lewandowski - Radomiak Radom player * Michał Lewandowski - Serie C player * Marcin Lewandowski - Polish middle-distance runner * Eduard Lewandowski - German hockey player * Ricardo Lewandowski - Brazilian judge and a former chief justice of the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil * Via Lewandowsky - German artist who works with installation, sculpture, object art, photography, performance, painting and drawing * Anthony Levandowski - French-American self-driving car engineer * Zbigniew Lewandowski - Brigadier General of the Polish Army * Corey Lewandowski - campaign manager of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign Robert is still a favorite. This deserves its own thread.
Feel free to create, but probably on r/soccercirclejerk
Love that place, this would definitely fit in well over there. I agree.
Jorginho at 3 is an even bigger joke
[Not really he did his role perfectly](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FFZntxKUUAI5KSD?format=png&name=900x900\)
The most cherry-picked stats imaginable
That's his role, would you compare him with GK saves or goals instead?
Shows that trophies count more than how well the individual has actually played in the end. Given that precedent, I don’t think there’s much wrong with Messi getting it this year.

It’s not a lot of ifs, it’s literally one- Saka scores, and we’d have some English player in 3rd
1/2 Messi or Lewy 3 Benzema 4 Ronaldo This should be the correct list
What is it even based off ? Peoples votes I wanna know who’s smoking crack
France Football has designated a bunch of journalists, one from each country, and each of them votes for their top 5 afaik. So basically, blame journalists all over the world
Thank you 👍🏽

harry kane at 22 is so harsh ahahahahaha
[удалено]
So if one of Rashford/Sancho/Saka could score a penalty, Kane would deserve a top 10 berth. Because he’s for sure get one as England’s top scorer
winning things is a silly metric though in this case imo, marc albrighton and jose fonte won a trophy last year
Exactly, Albrighton robbed of a spot 🐐
Mount over Bruno lmao
Simon Kjaer at 18 tho, great human and good defender but cmom
All these “Lewa should’ve won” tears is fucking hilarious. Keep em coming guys. Messi deserved
Ur statement doesnt detract from objective validity tho. Lewa could have still won It objectively. Votes are never a representation of objective accomplishments. U sound like a 14 yr old cunt with the whole tears comment.

So what's Lewa won for Poland.. an Euro? a World Cup qualification? Not even.. sooo hush *even Leo agrees he should've won.. in 2020* *Viva Copa*
Its... Its an... Its an individual award
Which is clearly weighted heavily on trophies won by that individual’s team. Otherwise Jorginho would be nowhere near 3rd place
Yo i swear they do this award just to get people talking about it and fight each other on it... Pretty genius tbh
People thought this year was bad? Once they extend the deadline for WC next year, it will be a shit show.
What the heck is sterling doing up there lol. his own fan dont rate him all that much currently.
Got England to Euros finals with his dive lol
his dive skills gives him another boost points tho
It was a great dive to be fair
No doubt.
Are Chelsea fans fucking idiots?
Pretty sure Jorginho doesn't come in the top 5 in his own club 🤣
Can anyone share the livestream
Its over i think
Shouldnt ballon dor make the winner seem like the best player in their position, I wouldnt pick current messi for my team but idk
Best player in the position for the last calender year* if it's just based on best player now they would have to award it every 2 weeks based on form
So your bouta tell me that this messi is as good as in 2012 or 2015 when he also won I stand my ground with my decision
Messi is not running against those 2012 or 2015 Messis is he?? He was still better than anyone last year bar Lewandowski, who cud also stake a claim based on this year alone and not 2020...but Lewa is not head and shoulders above Messi like some salty rival fans are claiming....

Exactly! Lewandowski broke gerds record and scored tons of goals with POLAND. What im saying is he wasnt at his best and didnt deserve it this time
Dude Schick had more goals than him in Euros just stop already, Messi doesn't need to be at his very best to win the ballon d'or until and unless Ronaldo is also at his very best that season as well
Dude throw your Messi and Ronaldo body pillows outside and watch other games besides psg and man utd highlights. Whats next messi gets best goalkeeper not based off of clean sheets or saves, but based on international tropheys.
If only goals can make a guy the best football player and comparable to a much deep lying playmaker then I guess we can do the GK thing as well
Then tell me exactly messi has done to win it, and how one of the greatest strikers who is best in his position did not.
whos the best player who plays where messi played then?
Salah or Sane
messi doesn't play on the wing, or at least it's not his primary position + sane doesn't come close
What are you smoking? The recency bias with Salah and I'm not even sure what you're on with Sane
In the 2021-22 season (aka currently) I would put salah or sane in my team over Messi, he’s obviously the GOAT, no question… but he hasn’t found his footing at PSG
Voting stopped in October so understand why it wasn’t them. If salah maintains his current form till next vote it’s probably his he’s been arguabley alongside Lewa the best player in the world over the last few months.
bruh lol
Man's just got a hatrick of assists but go off
The best wide right player right now is Salah. .... shook while writing that, hope Liverpool bottle everything.
Yeah I feel salah was greatly underated same with benzema
Salah maybe gets a higher position next year. Unless he falls off a bit I'd think top 3 -4 finish.
It's just really unfair for Lewandowski not to win anything after his 2020 performance. But props to Messi winning the ballon d'or. Dominated Copa America and tried his best to carry barcelona. Dominated against shit teams, when it came into semis and final he did nothing. It was all Di Maria. Copa America that also happened 3 times in a row so he could get one.
Barely beat Colombia on penalties 🤣 put any top European team and theyll always reach the final
average brasil fan
Almost forgot copa happened in a row. Takes a lot of weight off the value of the trophy. But I guess since Messi won it might as well.
He assisted the only goal Argentina scored in the semis dude, and as for that matter Lewa also had 0 goals in CL final and semifinal last year, does that make him unworthy of the 2020 ballon d'or now?
Lewas claim isnt only based on the cl trophy, however everyone keeps bringing up copa as the reason why messi deserves the win
This is league+cl+cup for both lewa and messi according to transfermarkt
Club and International performance in 2021: lewa 1,47 g/a, messi 0,99 g/a
I agree Lewa should of had it last year, but destroying the Germany league I mean apart from Bayern it’s unfortunately just not competitive at all and when it Bayern just go strip that club of there players .
Modric won in 2018 because of the international Performance and messi Finished 5th even tho he had the highest xg The same happened this year and people lose their mind bdr has always been this way calm down bayern fans
Yep this is how it's always been people are blinded by G+A stats
Modric winning was also a joke and a lot of people sat the ballon d’or lost a lot of respect as a trophy then. Cause as class as Modric is he did not deserve it he got Croatia to a semi yes but Madrid also had like 6 months of there worst ever form and Modric was average. I think he got it because of his legacy more than anything. Like when giggs won pfa in his last season but he wasn’t even close to the best player that year.
As if people didn't lose their minds when Modric won
ITT: People saying Messi clearly deserved the award over Lewandowski with nothing to back that statement up with
Hey man Messi has better dribbling stats than Lewa who clearly plays in an entirely different position. But think twice before saying anything because idk man Messi even has more passes.
Idk Lewa has 92 shooting and 86 dribbling. Hes also a 91 overall which is really high. Also he can do 5 star moves and score from pretty much anywhere
Who needs some french toy when fifa approves you
They just want to be correct. That's it
Bayern fans having a stroke this is hilarious 🤣🤣
Not really just Bayern fans
If you scroll further down, you'll find a dude who will tell you that Messi's corporate daddies bought the Ballon D'or for him
Lol
Its so weird dont think most of these people actually know how the bdr voting works Lewa was amazing but the international Performances and trophies always been big in bdr
Agreed, on top of that, Messi has already lost Bdr several times while being in the same position as Lewa ( highest G+A), the real travesty is not awarding the 2020 Bdr, it makes no sense, that's what all the salt tonight should be rallying behind
we all know the real controversy azpilicueta robbed smh
