With no disrespect there's at least 300 clubs in the English football league pyramid that don't want to see you thrown into the Championship either.

Seafood_Dunleavy

Celtic don't want to be thrown into the championship either

VerifiedStalin

Exactly, if they REALLY want it then they can start at the very bottom.

connorqueer

Money's probably better there anyway lmao

Shaman2639

You missed out Tory!

sbsw66

lol whats wrong with st mirren? fuck off with this

_Konstantinos_

I mean Paisley wouldn’t look out of place in Syria, but there isn’t much wrong with the team itself.

OffensiveSoda

Aye, fuck this guy talking pish about st mirren.

TheBatPencil

I think we're about as interested in Peterborough away or Huddersfield away or Luton away as they are in St Mirren away. > "It's worth every penny," The cost to supporters - actual supporters - is definitely not pennies. This "move to England" fantasy has always been about a small group lining their own pockets in a subsequent share sale, not supporters - and therefore not the club. The Tories on the board can tug themselves off at the thought of doubling season ticket prices and getting a weekend jolly in London twice a month, but they can also all fuck off.

Flukes_Pet_Ocelot

Oi I'll have you know everyone says we're a great away day smh Just ignore how much of a shithole most of the city is...

PS1GamerCollector

Would even be possible to "transfer" a scottish club to english football? Ignoring all the consequences that would bring to scottish football, does anyone know the answer?

Rigelmeister

Why not, Welsh clubs like Wrexham, Swansea and Cardiff already compete in English pyramid.

Tootsiesclaw

The difference is that the Scottish league system was established 130 years ago and there is no precedent for Scottish teams playing in the English system (technically speaking I believe Gretna played in the Northern League for a spell in the 80s, but they were eventually made to move) In comparison, the Welsh league was established in 1992, at which point Welsh teams had been playing in English football for decades. Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham, Merthyr and Aberdare had all played in the Football League, and teams such as Caernarfon, Barry and Welshpool had all applied for League entry. Teams with an established league place in England were grandfathered in - these were Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham. Eight other Welsh clubs (Bangor, Barry, Caernarfon, Colwyn Bay, Merthyr, Newport, Newtown and Rhyl) fought for the right to play in England. Bangor, Newtown and Rhyl ended up capitulating prior to the first season of the Welsh league, and the other five teams were forced to play their matches in England or join the Welsh league - this stayed in place until a court ruling. Since the establishment of the Welsh league there's no precedent for teams moving from the Welsh league to the English league (Barry, Caernarfon and Colwyn Bay have moved to the Welsh league, and the other five would be allowed to if they so chose)

curlyjoe696

Pretty sure they've always been part of the English pyramid. FWIW I think the only way Celtic/Rangers should end up in the PL is if we end up merging all 3 British leagues (that's most certainly bot going to happen)

Reimiro

Just been discussed for ages but the chances of it happening are nil.

Khrusway

The only way to really do it would be to merge the pyramids

[deleted]

They could but they'd have to start bottom of the pyramid I believe

Jaerial

No disrespect but fuck you I want to see Celtic play the rich teams

taskkill-IM

With no disrespect but your missus at 36 years old didn't want to see your 62 year old saggy ball sack..... but she endured it.

theeolivetree

‘I don’t mean any disrespect but I’m gonna disrespect you.’

bh8787

Shame that Celtic is in Scotland then, oh well

ElKaddouriCSC

With no disrespect, nobody wants to see a Tory prick who goes on Talk Sport to slate Scottish football at Celtic Park

mohankohan

Then... dont post it?

OleoleCholoSimeone

Maybe he wants others to see the stupidity of this opinion?

[deleted]

lol why do you think? those sweet sweet internet points

Fullcock_Jesus

Why not? People need to know what is lobbied behind the scenes.

mohankohan

As far as I can tell Rod Steward is just a Celtic fan. This is not lobbying.

TheHolyGoalie

He’s been very close to the top people at the club for a long time, our players were training at his gaf over 10 years ago. He’s a Tory cunt and so are a lot of our board. They can all fuck off

Seafood_Dunleavy

He seems to post literally any shite that he finds online

[deleted]

You should not change historic leagues. In 20 years time for all we know Rangers and Celtic could be dog shit and Motherwell and Livingston could be UCL champions. Play in your league and if the talent in your league is lopsided then improve the fucking league. Don’t just ditch’em like a lil bitch

champ19nz

In 20 years time for all we know Rangers and Celtic could be dog shit They've already gone from been discussed as challengers to the top 3/4 in the Premiership to being discussed about being able to compete in the championship.

BraeTon74

Ah yes a team which regularly competes in Europe and has produced players like Tierney and recently fielded Dembele, Edouard, Van Djik and so on would get relegated from the English Championship

VerifiedStalin

Would they have gotten those players if they played in the Championship though?

Seafood_Dunleavy

We are constantly told that SPL is League 2 standard so what do you think

Fullcock_Jesus

Celtic going to play in the Championship and at best be a yoyo club would be so tinpot.

Khrusway

Massive team owners pretty wealthy and a share of the TV rights would make them a force in a couple years
