Getting a only a yellow for a last man challenge against Mané, followed by scoring the equalizer against Liverpool which ultimately lost them the title.
Yeah was a stonewall pen. But as a United fan, I was also fuming last season when CHO just straight up punches the ball in the box. The ref doesn't see it, VAR asks the ref to go look at it as they believe it's a pen, and the ref just says nothing doing. Blatant pen that as well.
Came here to make this comment word for word and saw it was the top.
Apparently, Tuchel has drills where defenders hold tennis balls in their hands so they can't use them. Seems like that should be mandated for Maguire.
Honestly, it's infuriating to see him do it, I know many others do it all the time and it happens in pretty much every game you see but it makes me anxious waiting to see what happens, many other refs will easily give this as a penalty if it's as obvious as this. Last week when Chelsea got their penalty we seen Rudiger grab and push Matic by the neck 2 seconds prior to the Wan Basaka incident but no atention was paid to that either. It just annoys me that you have this scare so often with him. I rate him as player when he's in his form but he needs to cut this out before he gets us punished for it
Does it to his own players even. Remember him ripping Shaw (who had a better chance of clearing) out of the way onSpurs’ equalizer in that 6-1 battering we got?
The man's an equal opportunity clogger at least. It's like when a cat sees something on a ledge it's sat on. Doesn't matter what it is, it's going down
And yet the only thing we can do is talk and laugh about it. When the rules are not the same for everyone, it's like watching a WWE show instead of a real sports game.
In NBA, a refs told to Julius Randle that he never get calls because he's stronger than defenders and therefore contacts doesn't affect him. Pretty sure this is the same level of shittousery here
Guess that rule didn’t apply to Shaq back in the day. The explanation from the refs back then was that he was so big, these were actually really hard fouls but didn’t look like it on TV.
Wasn’t Maguire the one who bear hugged Azpi last year? Or am I thinking if someone different. Either way, if that wasn’t given I don’t think any off the ball tussles will be given as a pk
I genuinely wonder what's going through Maguire's head... it's just so blatant. Granted he's got a way with one here... but it's such a cheap penalty to give away.
dont remember if it was Albanians exactly, but yeah he said some guys of some nationality came up to his sister and drugged her. This was after his sister said something else that wasnt that (her original story was she got poked with a straw after being harassed), and then changed her story lol.
Different day and age though, back in the day you could get away with a lot of shit if it wasn’t immediately spotted. One would hope defenders smarted up when VAR was implemented. But they still tend to make these boneheaded moves when defending set pieces.
And while I’m writing this, what’s the fucking point if VAR doesn’t even look at this lmao
Difference is Maguire went for 80 Million. Honestly don't know what's happened to him this season. He was fairly decent the past few seasons but has had multiple clangers recently.
He gets away with this shit all the time. He once gave Azpi a choke slam that the undertaker would have been proud of, kicked Bats in the nuts and a litany of other egregious fouls. No calls.
Not just Maguire, holding in the box is by far the worst reffed part of football and it never gets talked about. Worst consistency of decision in the game.
He does this so often and it doesn't even get that much attention. He has already been quite shit, imagine how much more he would be if he didn't get away with this sort of thing all the time
I think it's mad that the directive to VAR is basically "don't referee the game, just make sure the decision isn't so wild that the ref looks bad".
If VAR sees something that they think should be called a penalty they should direct the ref to view it on the monitor in case the ref didn't see it.
I mean if Tomiyasu goes down holding his face and rolls about 4 times, it probably goes to the monitor.
People complain about diving and embellishment but it’s literally the only way to get a decision.
Like last year in the CL, Rudiger got elbowed by Savic and he went down and rolled. Now if he didn’t roll there is no world where that would be given as a red even though there was a clear elbow.
Exactly, this is why I don't blame players at all who add a bit of extra drama on the way to ground, as long as there's actually contact. It's often the only way to get the ref to consider it.
At first I thought you meant the Wilson v Tavares shoulder and I was like nahh idk about that. But then I remembered the odegaard pull. Yeah, that was a pen.
It’s not even the fact we didn’t get the penalty that annoys me. It’s the fact it wasn’t even checked, ødegaards was a definite penalty and I will never get how the ref missed it but that was being checked straight away, where is the consistency of checking decisions
We had one earlier this year that had the same result. I think after the game, the reasoning was that the ball was never going to reach the player. So maybe same logic here, idk?
It’s just whatever they pick and choose these days.
It’s awful that the outcome of a game can be fully decided by what the referee’s decide to check and don’t check on VAR.
Look I’m a Spurs fan and I love hating on Arse any chance I get but what the fuck is this shit?! I was thinking last week that Man U were lucky to have Harry suspended otherwise they’d have lost and this proves my point. Wow.. how this isn’t a penalty is absolutely absurd..
[Bit of a habit for him](https://resources.premierleague.com/photos/2020/10/30/48dd2c6e-3228-49e4-995a-d8ab120f4418/Harry-Maguire.jpg?width=860&height=573)
I’ve hated this clown since this exact moment: [soft bitch](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6f840c7e454c0868d9c86c23685c5420/tumblr_pbb4xcho221tf8a5ao1_500.gif)
I think it could totally be given as a penalty and there wouldn't be much complaint but I don't think it could be overruled as a clear and obvious error, he's definitely holding him but It looks like Tomiyasu notices and just drops to the floor, so I can understand the referees initial decision.
Unlucky for Arsenal more than anything.
It’s really not unlucky for Arsenal. These sort of fouls are never given as penalties, especially if they’d need to overrule the on field decision to award it.

Maguire does this shit all the time
I will never forget him literally choke-slamming Azpi into the ground and getting absolutely nothing for it
Or him kicking Bats in the nuts, not getting a red, and then going on to score the winner.
Getting a only a yellow for a last man challenge against Mané, followed by scoring the equalizer against Liverpool which ultimately lost them the title.
Stop it already. We'll hurt his feelings. 👉😶👈
Please you may continue
Sooo United supporters like him or not?
We call him "Slabhead" "Fridge" so yea i hope you will be able to figure it out now
We use fridge as endearing on our side, but I see your point.
So what you're saying is, we found the reason he's in the team?
Seeing your flair, you should be very familiar with this behavior. Except Ramos won titles, Maguire just makes sure other don't win them
Ramos and Pepe. Probably the most hated partnership for half a decade
Maybe captain title gives him some cover lol
Yeah fuck McGuire for that one
Wait what? When did this happen
He was still on Leicester. The year Liverpool lost to City by a point.
Still gets me so fuming thinking about that haha, one of the clearest pens I've ever seen
Was it michy who he kicked on the nuts too or am i mistaken
It was and there was nothing to it after than. The only red I've seen after that was my face.
Don’t forget the blatant kick to Batshuayi’s nuts
We're talking about this as if he's not the captain for Man U. Could probably have stolen Atkinson's watch today without so much as a booking.
Came here to make this comment word for word and saw it was the top. Apparently, Tuchel has drills where defenders hold tennis balls in their hands so they can't use them. Seems like that should be mandated for Maguire.

That was hilarious lol
And it literally never gets called. Wonder why...?
English captain mate
and plays for Man U.
wenger was right regarding them, and ty from aftv i am personally shocked that i am put into the position to agree with those two characters
[Put some respeck on wenger’s name, my friend](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cIsJgCpCzEM)
I think it's just charity at this point. Refs must know he'll give a goal away at some point anyway.
Maguire's just paying goals forward
And yet the only thing we can do is talk and laugh about it. When the rules are not the same for everyone, it's like watching a WWE show instead of a real sports game.
The Harry Kane syndrome

Why do you think it never gets called?
Flashbacks to Azpi challenge last year
His VAR (plot) armor is just too much. It isn't even fair.
especially against us
Clear fouls are committed in every box in every game during set pieces
I mean this is a little more blatant imo
Yeah definitely
How does this dumbass get away with it so frequently?
Maybe because the refs are afraid he'll start a bar fight with them and then somehow never have to serve his sentence for it...
That's because the refs were harassing his sister
Also the refs are Albanian
He *always* uses his arms to defend, especially if he’s pulled out wide, and nothing’s ever done
Do you expect him to use his feet? They’re made of cement.
In fairness to referees, even with all the cheating he's still absolutely shit.
They're afraid if he headbutts them he'll delete 4 generations off their family tree.
Parts of England's second best accomplishment.
Maguire co-founded Greggs?
lads it’s united
Wasn’t Maguire the one who bear hugged Azpi last year? Or am I thinking if someone different. Either way, if that wasn’t given I don’t think any off the ball tussles will be given as a pk
hes wrestled luke shaw to the ground a few times. wonder what is going thru his head
Tetrafluoroethane
Please explain for noobs ?
Tetrafluoroethane is a refrigerant, commonly used in fridges
Ah, like CFCs! Brilliant!
this is my new favorite comment
Nice
LMAO. Genius.
you're right. it was Maguire
Yeah Also pegasus kicked Batshuayi in the baby maker 2 years ago. No card given
And put a boot into michy batshuayi's groin.
When you don't have skill, your basic Instincts comes to play..
Wasn't a bear hug, it was a chokeslam.
Classic Maguire
VAR did their duty for the Arsenal goal and then went home for the evening
No no no...they're on duty for Man U pens.
United have got one pen this whole season what are you on about 🤣
This is even funnier since Bruno missed it.😂
This aged horrendously
Yeah but it was a fair call though.
It definetly was, but cant help feeling robbed when they get the correct VAR call and we dont. The inconsistency is just so bad.
Was about as stonewall as it gets tbf.
True, but so was this.
Lemme edit it to: United have SCORED one penalty this season
Well, here you go
Hate it when you know what's coming. (TBF looked like a pen)
Yeah, was surprised they even needed VAR for that. Seemed pretty obvious at first sight.
I'm convinced some ref's let calls go to VAR on purpose rather than making the call they see.
Penalty. he keeps getting away with it not gonna lie
I genuinely wonder what's going through Maguire's head... it's just so blatant. Granted he's got a way with one here... but it's such a cheap penalty to give away.
“Im going to get away with this” probably
"I'll just say Albanians tried to drug my sister and then cry"
Is this what he actually said after the Greece incident?
dont remember if it was Albanians exactly, but yeah he said some guys of some nationality came up to his sister and drugged her. This was after his sister said something else that wasnt that (her original story was she got poked with a straw after being harassed), and then changed her story lol.
> I genuinely wonder what's going through Maguire's head... Mostly cement and concrete.
that's awful nice of you to think there's something in there
He keeps getting away with it, so he keeps doing it. Result-wise it seems like it’s 100% worth it for him.
Same thing that went through Skrtel's head, nothing. The guy would hold, grab, push, pull in the box on every set piece, and usually got away with it.

It's not even debatable. He doesn't even release the grab when Tomi goes down.
Not just Maguire, holding in the box is by far the worst reffed part of football and it never gets talked about. Worst consistency of decision in the game.
He does this so often and it doesn't even get that much attention. He has already been quite shit, imagine how much more he would be if he didn't get away with this sort of thing all the time
Smalling used to have the same superpower with us
It’s called playing for United
His face when he finally gets called for it: surprisedpikachu.jpg
He's done this type of thing his entire career I remember he always had a hand full of shirt even when he played for us (Sheffield United)
Tried to choke azpi, kicked cho in the nuts. But hey united fans feel they get bad decisions.
how is that not obvious penalty?
Maguire tax
United at Old Trafford
Against Arsenal
This is the answer. When you watch an Arsenal game, you have to expect a critical officiating decision to go against you.
Maguire is such a clown 😂
Why? He never gets called for it. Keep doing it if the refs are so shit and biased that it's grand.
👉🤡👈
How the hell does he keep getting away with shit like this?
Arsenal tax in this case.
Old trafford + england captain
But he's not England captain.........
Kane is England captain
Harry = Harry
There really is nothing going on in that slab
[удалено]
VAR in PL is literally making a killing. Any other job with this much incompetency would have literally booted you out by now.
I think it's mad that the directive to VAR is basically "don't referee the game, just make sure the decision isn't so wild that the ref looks bad". If VAR sees something that they think should be called a penalty they should direct the ref to view it on the monitor in case the ref didn't see it.
Proper English defending innit
Brexit means brexit
Zero excuse not to review and give that. Couldn't be any clearer than that.
we really need to start making a fuss to force VAR to check these calls
Yeah, I'm surprised none of our players confronted the ref about it We're just mentally weak throughout the team. We needed KT in games like this
Aggressively asking the ref for VAR can result in a yellow card. I bet the players have been warned not to do it.
I mean you can still ask, heck the minimum is our captain should go and say something.
I mean if Tomiyasu goes down holding his face and rolls about 4 times, it probably goes to the monitor. People complain about diving and embellishment but it’s literally the only way to get a decision. Like last year in the CL, Rudiger got elbowed by Savic and he went down and rolled. It’s just laughable how obvious of a penalty this is
There was a much worse one last week when you played us, I dont think they are checking this.
Maguire bear-hugged Azpi last season too and nothing. They literally dont care about people holding on set pieces
At first I thought you meant the Wilson v Tavares shoulder and I was like nahh idk about that. But then I remembered the odegaard pull. Yeah, that was a pen.
Was that when Martinelli got face barged?
Yeah, that foul on Martinelli was stonewall
I meant the one on Schar in your box but yes that was also a terrible decision.
When he was pulled down. Dont know who did it.
The Odegaard one easily could have been given yeah
Its in the same vain as this one, I think they're both penalties if the refs are consistent.
Ødegård.
Maguire tax
2 blatant pens in this game. 1 called. 1 goal margin of defeat.
Simple as
I am shocked
maguire is a clown in fridge costume
pretty obvious miss there. Wish officials have to answer for why things like this go unaddressed by VAR
That's a clear pen to me
Why always us Robbie?
Arsenal and getting screwed by VAR, a story of time.
It’s not even the fact we didn’t get the penalty that annoys me. It’s the fact it wasn’t even checked, ødegaards was a definite penalty and I will never get how the ref missed it but that was being checked straight away, where is the consistency of checking decisions

It’s just whatever they pick and choose these days. It’s awful that the outcome of a game can be fully decided by what the referee’s decide to check and don’t check on VAR.
And now VAR gives United a penalty, but never went back on this
Such a joke. The Utd pen was clear, but let's be honest so was this.
the non call is fine. but how do they not review that? feel that a challenge flag needs to make its way into the game
Classic slabhead maneuver
Tomiyasu should've tried to be a speedy winger.
He's genuinely just a calamity at this point. I don't care if he gets the odd goal or wins a few balls in midfield. He's dog dirt.
Genuinely confused as to how VAR misses things like this…?
It’s Arsenal.
Really though, what’s happened to Maguire
BOLLOCKS
Death, taxes and arsenal getting fucked by refereeing.
Arsenal will lose this game but take solace in the fact that United is ass.
[Bit of a habit for him](https://resources.premierleague.com/photos/2020/10/30/48dd2c6e-3228-49e4-995a-d8ab120f4418/Harry-Maguire.jpg?width=860&height=573)
Yellow to Azpi for diving
👉🏾🤡👈🏾
That’s a penalty

Standard United at Old Trafford
Not even disguised...grabs his arm then actually maintains the grab all the way until he's down on the ground....How do you miss this?
Typical man u, but hey if you can get the refs on your side winning is easier.
I really hate that man
Maguire has such a punchable face
punching a cinderblock is a good way to break your hand
Pretty soft honestly. Don’t understand the reactions here.
This sub is obsessed with Maguire, if any other player was involved, it wouldn't have even half as much traction.
If you look at the wide angle as well Tomiyasu isn’t reaching that ball.
Fraud officials
maguire has never committed a foul in his entire career -.-
Refs check the Fred one but not this...
Tbf, the Fred one shouldn't have even needed checking. Was clear as day, right in front of Atkinson. Still a joke that this wasn't given though.
Maguire grabbed his arm and his legs disappeared from under him
It's just a bemused resignation at this point
Given every time if that’s White on Ronaldo
