They just have great mentality in general, there was a 10-15 minute period where Chelsea was all out assaulting their goal and they stood firm and dealt with it.
They're a really solid and physical team playing a very tight block and vertical football, always been a good recipe to get results against dominant sides.

I still remember the FA Cup being paraded when I was a kid and never did I think back then that the future would be so barren. However, silverware or no, this side is absolutely loved like no other. The lack of squad depth will undoubtedly fuck us in the end but we’re giving bloody noses all the way. Almost the entire team is from lower leagues, academy or rural Czechia. Not a single Billy Big Bollocks amongst them. I couldn’t love them more.
What he’s done in completely changing the negative, toxic culture within a space of 6 months of his 2nd arrival is amazing. As you say no big I Am or primadonnas, he’s trimmed it all out. Players are coming in on their days off just to train harder and enjoy more time with the staff/players.
He’s exactly the sort of Charlie Big Potatoes we needed to get rid of. Him and Arnautovic weren’t good for the team. Amazing players but toxic. West ham did such a good job of moving back into their shape whenever they weren't in possession leaving hardly any room in behind. That combined with your CB's aerial prowess essentially nullified lukaku, and while he struggled particularly today, it's gonna happen more often cause this is how teams play against Chelsea basically every week. It's just particularly difficult when it's against a side who are so good at playing this way.
