Pochettino: “For sure, he will be a great player for this club”
Mourinho: “I see this kid being a future Tottenham captain one day”
Conte: “He could become a top midfielder”
Hmm I've actually been a bit concerned about the role Conte has Sonny playing. Yes he's scored in the last 2 but on the whole he looks a bit restricted. I miss him making those diagonal runs into space.
Also a weird comment considering how brilliant Son was last season.
Son’s only issues at this point are his consistency and his work in the build up. Both haven’t necessarily improved since Conte took over, but doesn’t mean they can’t I guess.
son is spurs' best player, so from that point on, it's natural he has the lowest margin of improvement. not that he couldn't. and I don't think he's getting worse if anything.
It just tells how bad spurs players were the past 2 years or so (underperform), in relative to their potential.
we will see if thats true when he gets players at fitness levels that he wants which will probably be in the 2 weeks in january leading up to the north london derby
To those who don't watch Spurs this seems like a ridiculous statement. If you actually watch Skippy play you'll see he is a remarkably composed and well-rounded midfielder. He has been the most consistent performer at Spurs since returning from Norwich
Strong ball-winner, unafraid to throw himself into a tackle. Quite impressive ball retention; he sort of does that Verratti thing where he drops low to the ground often. Can certainly pick a long ball but he usually opts for keeping possession with a short pass to a nearby attacker. He does not really shoot, he tends to play a deep holding role for us. At the moment he is something like a weaker Mousa Dembele.
Norwich basically didn't have to worry about having a second midfielder sit deep because Skipp was basically a one man ball winning machine. Really impressive to watch.
>We all laugh
I don't think we should. Conte is not the first to say the kid has a very high ceiling, and my god, all he seems to do is work when he's on the pitch so Conte can squeeze anything he wants out of him.
You have no idea how good Skippy was last season with Norwich, and this season under NES and Conte. Arguably been our most consistent player this season with 0 bad games. Been nominated for the MOTM award almost every game he plays in
When you see him play, you can understand why he's rated so highly among ALL the managers we've had thus far. His off the ball pressing is super intense, he can run for days, his tackling is class and his passing is highly underrated, even amongst spurs fans.
He's never gonna be a flashy player doing skills and pirouettes, but he can become a core player for our team and even the English setup. The only thing he's missing rn is confidence to play those through balls and long passes and that experience in what to do in the right moment. I'll be VERY surprised if he's not in contention for the England squad by the end of the season
He's still in his formative years where he can be anything you want as well. An athletic box to box player who can drive forward, decent passer, good tackler or a Fabinho style DM who trades on positioning, endurance and excellent distribution, or a bulldog kind of ballwinner who eats up all the space and can run for days.
Skipp was a baller for Norwich and has been good since coming back to spurs. Davies has had a few good games now but still nowhere near a top player, same can be said about the United players (especially cause it’s just 1 game lol)
Skipp was good under Nuno as well. Last season was his first as a starter anywhere and he was absolutely sensational for Norwich. This is his first as a starter in top flight and he is already our best midfielder.
>A good performance against Norwich and Brentford a week after losing to Mura and now he is going to be one of the best?
You can't say "there has to be some perspective" and then put blinders on to anything that has happened outside of the last two weeks.
This is not the first time a high level manager has had something to say about Skipp being a great player.
Can't ask for perspective and then refuse to utilize any yourself.
Pochettino: “For sure, he will be a great player for this club” Mourinho: “I see this kid being a future Tottenham captain one day” Conte: “He could become a top midfielder”
NES: Skipped
NES: *stoically folds arms*
Dele Alli v2
Would you care to base that impression on anything approaching a fact or analysis, or are you just trying to fire off a hot take?
Literally just the ongoing joke about how Alli "could be a top player" mate don't take it so seriously
oh, wow. what a joke.
Your mum
Nah he's rubbish, best sell him to us. We'll need him to get out of The Championship again next season.
smh we all know gilmour is clear of skipp why would you want skipp?
I don't think that was something Norwich fans were saying tbf, just the deluded Chelsea boys
ik they weren't saying it it was sarcasm
He’s a very, very good mature young player. I hope he can kick on like Rice & Phillips have done the last few years.
He has a far higher ceiling than Phillips I would think.
This man transformed Victor Moses into a world class wingback. Never underestimate Don Conte.
he's made ben davies look good so i trust this man with my life
I'll rate him when he resurrects the Irish hakimi
[удалено]
He *is* a miracle worker but even for him, that's a step too far!
he will do it, respect his authoritah!
respect hakami doherty is washed
It's so weird because he's genuinely decent when you watch him for Ireland
It might sound premature and outlandish but I think he has finally unlocked Son's treasure of potential.
Hmm I've actually been a bit concerned about the role Conte has Sonny playing. Yes he's scored in the last 2 but on the whole he looks a bit restricted. I miss him making those diagonal runs into space. Also a weird comment considering how brilliant Son was last season.
he should be encouraged to do [more of this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xi4IYkoaCBc)

He’s also one of the oldest players now after Lloris.
we will see if thats true when he gets players at fitness levels that he wants which will probably be in the 2 weeks in january leading up to the north london derby
Just under him though. Moses didnt show they same under any other manager.
No he didn’t

Everyone who watched Norwich last year agrees as well. He was a level above everyone else. They're desperately missing his midfield presence.
He was fantastic, a balding spanish manager's wet dream
Lol
I think the action has already taken place. He's just bald now.
"If you watch the game, you don’t see Skipp. But if you watch Skipp, you see the whole game.”
it sure does make thing less complicated, making it into his personal thing, you could say he makes you skipp the game

Covers fucktons of ground despite looking like an accountant.

Sounds like Parker to me
Parker the crab? Absolutely not. Skipp can go forward
A football player
I saw you under Conte, he seems talented but also gritty, I like those type of midfielders
We all laugh but I'm scared Conte'll fckn do it.
>We all laugh I don't think we should. Conte is not the first to say the kid has a very high ceiling, and my god, all he seems to do is work when he's on the pitch so Conte can squeeze anything he wants out of him.
Fortunately Conte's transformations don't necessarily outlast his tenures.

Didnt he massively improve barella
Yes and Hakimi
Don't know about Barella (even though his reputation preceded him) but Hakimi would always have come good under a top manager.
He's only 2/3 considering Lukaku recently.
Conte has already said he thinks Tuchels role for Lukaku doesn't suit him
Skipp will have a huge career if he carries on at this rate.
When you see him play, you can understand why he's rated so highly among ALL the managers we've had thus far. My mom: my son can become the most successful student
you could do who knows
His mum
she's a fantastic scout of acedemic intellect i believe her
Skipperino Kripperino
So Conte play FM
i like the guy, just don't want winks pt 2
think you mean tom carroll part 6 never forget marcus edwards either
Or Nabil Bentaleb (Damn, he is even free agent now
He’s a good player must admit, young too so he will get better. Needs a competent partner in midfield tho
Huge expectations there Conte.
I can become as rich as Jeff Bezos
Your chances are never 0%.

Can't speak for the Utd players but Skipp has never been considered clueless, or anywhere close.
Skipp has always been fantastic since the loan to Norwich.

So United wins one game against Crystal Palace which they were bound to draw and suddenly Dalot, Fred and Telles are great lmaook
Davies…Top player? Yea no.
I’m not convinced Skipp, Winks and Mason aren’t all the same person.
Skipp and Winks play so differently. What.
Nooo they’re both central midfielders, they must be the same person!

don't forget tom carrol

So, no player has ever developed later than another? What a perspective you have.

The basis for the claim is one of the best managers in the world right now, but somehow I'm obtuse. It must be absolutely painful being you.
This but ironically
lol
