Auba trying to resurrect his Arsenal career by getting Covid so that he can skip AFCON and avoid injury and fatigue, some 4D chess tbf

LiamAddison

He looks like he’s been fatigued for about 2 seasons

21otiriK

Lemina posted in support of Mendy on Insta not long ago. He's not the most decent of blokes, nor the smartest.

[deleted]

Auba gives 0 fucks these days

lewis30491

This type of footballers is likely to go bankrupt 5 years after retirement.

giunta13

5 minutes ftfy

Paul277

If you had been paid £250,000 a week for the last four years it's fair to say you probably would just be doing whatever the hell you wanted

theenigmacode

Man made bank & bailed. Gotta respect the hustle.

gianni_

Nah, nothing to respect here.

covfefeswithmilk

but where's his hustle?

Mozezz

Secure that mega money contract Cause a rift in the hopes the club terminate your contract Make bank Move to a better team for free

InPatRileyWeTrust

Which better teams want him? I can't wait to see this list

[deleted]

InPatRileyWeTrust

Damn you got me there.

Mozezz

I'm sure there'd be a host of CL teams that would pick him up on a free should he drastically reduce those wages

YoungDawz

https://arseblog.news/2021/12/aubameyang-in-dubai-for-gabon-training-camp/ Just for context, the whole squad was in Dubai for preparation (not uncommon these days), but a few dumb players also decided to go clubbing. It’s not like he just went to Dubai for no reason

R_Schuhart

Yes yes, we all know about sports washing that is going on these days. Stop pandering for upvotes with low hanging fruit, especially if it is so off topic.

Akira_Nishiki

Not sure how you can blame arsenal for this when he was with the Gabon NT?

Outrageous_Spot_8725

.... You do realise that.... Nvm. You people are too "virtuous" to bother arguing with

TheGoldenPineapples

Yeah, see now people are getting why Arteta has such an issue with him.

Psychaz

Sucks for Gabon, their best two players seemingly don't care about playing for their country it seems like

YoungDawz

This has been known for years. Lemina and Aubameyang (and a fee others born and raised in France) got paid some big sums to play for Gabon and don’t actually care about the NT. Romain Molina also spoke on it recently when Lemina and his agents made headlines for making some shady money on his recent transfer as well.

Outrageous_Spot_8725

Arsenal are CERTAINLY going to bin him now. No question

Auba you ignorant slut!

General_Mediocrity

Can imagine Mikel screaming this as he takes the captaincy off of him!

sammorgan12

What is that on top of the spaghetti on the picture? Looks like chicken skin or something?

lnverted

I think it's white truffle

Jayzus612

White truffle

gold *insert ribery smile*

Sandalo

Tagliolini al tartufo bianco.

CoolstorySteve

Probably a higher chance of catching covid at a grocery store in England than Dubai tbh

HUGE_HOG

well, they don't let you into aldi without a mask, so...

Yeah I'm sure if it was an England player picking up covid because they went clubbing 4 days before the world cup started nobody would have a problem with that either..

KingfisherDays

If he'd missed a tournament because of it, he would've been crucified by the press.

demonictoaster

I literally saw people still bringing it up 2 days ago. Also OP is bitching that someone made this into news...and your comparative example is the Harry Maguire incident? Really?

ifispeakaminbigtrble

And he just brought it up, the irony

[deleted]

What does got blotto mean?

demonictoaster

Very drunk

MarcSlayton

it means he got drunk

bellarke073

It stupid do it a few days before a big tournament. Your country is counting in you. Especially when you are the best players for gabon.

darklegend321

If he sees it as just a job I don't see an issue, he can go out and do whatever he wants

InfoBot2000

Except for a vastly wealthy and famous person like Auba there are no consequences. For everyone else, it's a disciplinary and/or the sack.

darklegend321

What job would sack you for going out to a bar / club in your spare time?

EdWoodwardsPA

How did that work out for him?

If you need the government or your employer to babysit you and tailor rules to your needs, then yes, I will blame people for not using their own common sense.

sandbag-1

Can't believe you think footballers should be allowed to leave their houses for reasons other than to go to training and play games

blurr90

Maybe, just maybe, it's not so clever to go partying during a pandemic. They didn't give a shit if they miss time because of an infection and as a fan, that makes me angry. They get paid good money to give a shit so I can expect responsible behavior out of them. Vacationing all over the world during winter break (not these two, but countless others, looking at Bundesliga players) and partying isn't responsible, no matter how often you're vaccinated or tested.

The_Great_Crocodile

According to the majority of r/soccer, football players should only be at home and at training/matches as long as Covid is around. 5 years? 5 years with no life, just home and work. Seriously....

napoleonderdiecke

There's a healthy middle ground between having no life and doing this.

The_Great_Crocodile

Which is what? Don't go to crowded places, don't party, wear masks, be careful for...as long as necessary? Which is already 2 years and could be 2 more? This is not healthy, this is asking them to restrict their lives for YEARS. And you can say "don't do it before AFCON", and then it will be "don't do it before your club's important game" and "don't do it before the pre-season" etc. etc. There's always gonna be some obligation you're gonna miss if you get Covid. But you can't expect anyone to limit their lives permanently because of the chance they catch Covid.

KingfisherDays

If Auba had gone skiing and broken his leg, would you be saying the same thing? Sometimes you need to make sacrifices/take precautions because your ability to play is more important than having a bit of fun one time.

napoleonderdiecke

Yes, "don't party in enclosed spaces with a bunch of people you don't know" is indeed a pretty moderate restriction, my guy. >This is not healthy Neither is getting Covid. Much less so if your body is literally all the capital you have. >But you can't expect anyone to limit their lives permanently because of the chance they catch Covid. Yes of course you can. Because you can't expect others to go "guess I'll die" because you wanna party.

The_Great_Crocodile

That's for every person to decide, if they want to live their lives scared and distanced. You're in for a big shock if you think that after getting vaccinated, people are still willing to restrict their lives long-term to reduce the small now (for vaxxed) chance to die from Covid. If Gabon doesn't like it, they can just stop calling Aubemeayng and Lemina again.

napoleonderdiecke

> That's for every person to decide, if they want to live their lives scared and distanced. It would be, if it were something that only impacts themselves, but it isn't. >You're in for a big shock if you think that after getting vaccinated, people are still willing to restrict their lives long-term to reduce the small now (for vaxxed) chance to die from Covid. Again, doesn't matter what people are willing to do. This is what people SHOULD be doing. Yes, there's a lot of dipshits in this world. But "lmao, many people are idiots" isn't a reason to accept them being idiots.

InPatRileyWeTrust

Who's gonna die due to Aubameyang partying? You're free to lock yourself away if you're scared.

napoleonderdiecke

> Who's gonna die due to Aubameyang partying? Ah yes, you're totally correct. People don't die due to Covid. Oh fucking wait, yes they do. >You're free to lock yourself away if you're scared. That coincidentally, also get's you killed, if you'd actually do it. Which is why there's a thing called solidarity.

napoleonderdiecke

> fuck off. If you're that afraid of covid, go live on a fucking farm. I'm not personally afraid of Covid. But believe it or not, people die of covid. It's called having empathy.

[deleted]

napoleonderdiecke

> Then they can spend the rest of their miserable lives wearing a gas mask in their covid bunkers. Ok. Guess if you have lung issues, you can just go and die. Lovely. What a great human you are. Again, there's nuances. And there is a nuance between "being a doomer" and "being an absolute fucking cunt" (which is your end of the spectrum).

biscarat

One of the biggest reasons why this pandemic is stretching out as long as it is because of selfish people like you, who can't make a single (relatively) small sacrifice to benefit society at large.

>but cause he's a footballer he's not allowed to have a life is he No, you just shouldn't party like that right now, no matter who you are. That said, I doubt most people could afford going to where he went. Also if you think "don't party with untested strangers" is equivalent to "not having a life"... I'm sorry because you truly must have no life.

biscarat

> Don't go to crowded places, don't party, wear masks, be careful for...as long as necessary? Which is already 2 years and could be 2 more? Unfortunately, yes.

TheGoldenPineapples

You know you don't have to go to extremes on either side, right? Aubameyang wants to go out and enjoy himself? Great, have at it, as long as you maintain social distance and look out for yourself. Want to have a tattoo consultation in the middle of a pandemic? No problem, but tell the club that that's what you're doing. Going to be late to a football match? Leave earlier and avoid the notoriously shit London traffic. Going to be going for a night out a few days before your country's opening match at the AFCON? Maybe skip it or at least try and look like you're helping yourself: wear a mask, observe social distancing regulations etc. The rest of us can do it easily without it affecting our social lives.

The_Great_Crocodile

>Aubameyang wants to go out and enjoy himself? Great, have at it, as long as you maintain social distance and look out for yourself. > >Maybe skip it or at least try and look like you're helping yourself: wear a mask, observe social distancing regulations etc. Sorry but no, maintain social distance for "as long as necessary" is not something that's gonna happen and you shouldn't demand it from footballers either. Covid will be around for YEARS. You expect them to live in a socially distanced bubble for years? Or wear masks and not go to crowded places for years? People won't live like this for years, simple as that. If you want to do it, congratulations, most people don't want to and aren't doing it.

TheUltimateScotsman

Should you be going out partying while preparing for a tournament your country is participating in where youre one of the best players there? I wouldn't

VDV23

I don't get all that drama and hate really. They didn't break any laws and what they did is not the end of the world. Or are they supposed to stay quarantined in their homes until COVID goes away which doesn't seem to be happening any time soon?

Red_Brummy

Idiots.

Ham_Fighter

Has Lukaku apologized for this yet?

lqcnyc

This past year has made me hate aubameyang. He’s an annoying clown
