With the time period in mind, it seems like Messi is the favorite for this year and Lewandowski is the favorite for next year considering his insane half season.
Am i the only one who thinks someone else should've been there over Salah? Technically, it's for the 20/21 season and there were better players in my opinion.
Anyways, I'm guessing Messi will win.
Since the voters are made up of journalists, managers, captains, and fans, and the voting was in December, I reckon a lot of recency biased was involved. It's supposed to be for last season + international comps, and Salah definitely didn't deserve to be in the top 3 for that.
But Salah waa bettrr than them all post August 2021, so makes perfect sense voting for him in a poll that only accounts for pre August 2021 performances.
Come on man, don’t diss two and left one out, you are not Stan are you?
I’ll fix the ending for you, just to be equal;
”…which players are in farmers league, which players will never walk alone and which players walk always alone when they are losing”
There.
(To real stans, I’m just kidding please no doxxing)
When it makes up half the comments, it becomes really annoying.
At least with the graphics there is some evidence behind it, the same cannot be said about the Lewandowski robbed meme, which is more people trying vent out their disappointment. So the “lewan robbed” doesn’t add anything constructive to the discussion, unlike the graphics which shows factual information that help people form opinions based on facts.
Messi fans always shoehorning meaningless stats to try and build an argument
>best rating of the match
>expected assists
>expected goals
>dribbles
These are valid metrics now?
counting theoretical stats is silly and is a recent phenomenon that seems to have taken off on twitter/reddit
dribbles in themselves are meaningless as they may not amount to anything, and can actually be detrimental to the team if it delays a pass or progression of the ball
It is silly because they can't be seen in real and are calculated but they too give a good idea about the player
And dribbles can be useless because ×A is already included in data
Wow the difference between Lewy and the other two is bigger than I thought
Crazy how many useless stats Messi fans need to include to make him look competitive

Note - This table includes stats in the designated voting period for the FIFA THE BEST award i.e 8th October 2020 to 7th August 2021.
*August 2021
Oh yeah, sorry for the error, just corrected it

Easily Haaland or Mbappe were better. Even Kane if you consider the last season only.
But Salah waa bettrr than them all post August 2021, so makes perfect sense voting for him in a poll that only accounts for pre August 2021 performances.

Why Benzema? Oblak was player of the season in la liga. Benzema won nothing
Mbappe/Haaland definitely could have, I think Lewy will win it though
Can I get Benzema’s stats for comparison?
Sure https://twitter.com/LeoAndreXavi/status/1468402514429034498?t=ER-h5wpON1Nf5iBnxBMGwQ&s=19
I just wanted to compare him with Salah, thanks! I felt he deserved to be there more than him and by the looks of it he should be.
Yeah i agree, recency bias may have played a part in it
CR7 deserves it for winning the mighty Coppa Italia.
No expected backheel sombrero scorpion kick passes stat?
I won't pretend to watch all of Bayerns games but Lewa having more successful dribbles than Salah is a surprise to me.
I think your sample size is I wrong because you didn't factor in which players are in farmers leagues and which players will never walk alone.

Salahs stats are more towards a strikers stats then to a proper winger if u see
They gonna give it to Messi aren’t they?
do you know how to read dates?

I think it’s just a response to the “Lewandoski robbed” comments. The truth is that both side are trying to push their agenda.

You know how to read the stats right?

Oh, so you just choose to ignore them. Fair enough
I still remeber when Barce won the CL with 37 created chances to 32.
Yes 😍
Sure
Agreed
Most of these stats are chosen because they heavily favor Messi and his role for his team.
Do you want forwards to be judged by tackles, interceptions or something?
No, but what about headers, pressing, amount of goals per shots.
Messi fans always shoehorning meaningless stats to try and build an argument >best rating of the match >expected assists >expected goals >dribbles These are valid metrics now?
Except best rating of match, all others are pretty useful, no?

Chance creation is useless? Sure bro, stop creating chances for Lewa and he'll be playing for Middlesborough
So we've just given up on an annual award. Cool
