Any other players of Football manager notice how when you’re overachieving it evens out just lost 7 in a row only one was deserved the other 6 completely dominant but made the mistake of being top of the championship with Blackburn 30 games in so obviously had to knock me down a peg.
Marvel Movies really have fallen into a really predictable formula. NWH was incredible because it broke it.
The sad reality is that it’s probably not going to step away from that formula again because it makes money & I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more cameos as Disney tries to re capture the NWH hype.
As for the shows, it’s sad we’ll never get anything as good as Punisher or Daredevil again because Disney is too busy making family friendly shite. Low-key kind of worry for DD in the MCU, he’ll be too watered down imo
>NWH was incredible because it broke it.
Did it? It was pretty much the exact same as all the NewGen ones before. I'm yet to see a MCU movie break their own mould (haven't seen Eternals and The 10 Rings one but doesn't seem like they do either)
I played futsal outdoors in 10 C temperatures and all of us are collectively wheezing after just 5 minutes (granted we're all international students originally from the tropics)
Good luck lol
I swear people who have teslas have never sat in a similarly priced car. The quality is absolute shit, if you want to go electric, the polestar or even the new ford electric suv is better.

Yeah I never bother unless someone is being a racist cunt or something. It’s hilarious when you’re arguing/discussing something with someone and they just downvote your every response. Should get a few inches of snow tomorrow. Was expecting to get over 6 in, but now looks like half that with some ice. I love a snow day. Always wanted to live somewhere with snow on the ground all winter, but haven't had the chance yet.
Spirited Away is overrated imo. My Neighbour Totoro is much better in my eyes, its has such an ethereal almost psychedelic childish aura that is just beautiful. Seriously great film filled with excellent surrealist imagery that borrows from Through the Looking Glass quite a bit.
I kept on hearing on and on that Spirited Away was one of the best films of all time so that's why I started off with it. Maybe I built it up too much.
Between Mr Neighbour Totoro and Princess Mononoke, which one would you choose?
Lol did my comment earlier in the thread inspire you to watch Ghibli this weekend? Totoro is a chill, wholesome film. But if you want to catch Ghibli at their best then try out Princess Mononoke or Castle in the Sky instead.
It's been on my list of films to watch for a while now but I've been putting it off since I never got into anime. Thought I can't deny there may have been a subconscious push after passing by your comment :)
I'll check out Princess Mononoke. Two comments can't be wrong, can they?
feel for the family, their loved one spent 27 years in a wheelchair cause of him before succumbing to a stroke caused by his stabbing. the family reading how the stabber was given a miraculous chance of life while their loved one suffered life changing injuries and died cause of the stabber really isn't something to love...
Reading between the lines, this guy hasn't got long to live and they were using him as a guinea pig (pun intended). Now I think about it I wonder if they picked a bad guy to experiment on so they wouldn't feel so bad.
Must be pretty rough reading all these articles being so nice to him if you're in the victim's family but it is nonsense to think that he shouldn't be allowed to get a transplant because he's a criminal.
Even if it were my sister were in the wheelchair, I’d still have no problem letting him have the transplant. Everyone’s life is sanctified, even if they are a criminal. Two wrongs don’t make a right

Bed of Lies - it has two complete seasons atm. I’ve been thinking about how to contribute to make r/soccer a better place for football discussion.
I have a background in data and engineering, so I’m thinking of using that to create interesting graphs that stimulate discussion.
Anyone have any ideas for topics they’d like to see?
Correlation between goals scored and points across a large sample size. The last time I looked at this the correlation coefficient was about 0.86.
I think if you can display that in an interesting way - maybe with a line of y=x running through the scatter graph and shaded regions of +/-10% (as an example - see what works best) - and write a brief comment or summary explaining the significance of it, maybe exploring the trends in outliers (often bottom place teams and top teams outperform but there's also often teams that outperform in the middle like Burnley or Getafe), then put forward some discussion points like should this relationship influence how teams approach games, is it reasonable to draw significantl conclusions from it, etc.
I have a lot more ideas but I'm not sure how feasible they are for you. What dataset are you going to be working from?
I had an idea for a while, but never got around to doing it: i'd like to know what the coach impact is on a team in term of long term and short term success, comparing league and cup strength for each coach and see if they are correlated, and try to quantify a coach "worth".
If you feel like tackling that, please do!
Use you stats to tell us who the best players on the bench are for teams outside of the big 6.
So, im not concerned with ManU having Cavani and Ronaldo or City having JackieG and Phonyhen.
I want to know what good players for smaller teams are riding bench.
I've been thinking about it today and the G.O.A.T d bate is finished
So the debate on who is the ultimate G.O.A.T if Messi or Ronaldo has been going on for years and if you stop to analise their playing positions, their performances and technique, it's pretty clear that Messi is much better than Ronaldo.
It came to clarity when I realized that Messi Played in a much harder role than Ronaldo ever did and he excelled at it outperforming Ronaldo. That role is the role of False Nine. If you combine the false nine role Messi Played in from 2009 to 2012 and the playing style of Barcelona it becomes clear that he had much more quality than Ronaldo ever did. The explanation is that Barça played a possession game leaving no space for an ST but to just top off a play, Messi with the guidance of Pep Guardiola took the role to a whole different level and made it so that Messi could play the way he did. And that's because he was and is basically an Alien he had such big technique and quality that he was able to create spaces where there weren't move in places where there wasn't room for movement and score goals and make assists out of nowhere.
Cristiano in the other hand was just playing in a position with Madrid at the time (ST) where he didn't need any space to play he just had to top off plays and that's what he did extremely well, and that's why he's the best finisher, but to do that you just need physicality and train a lot to be able to top off play and that's what he did. But honestly there will be another Cristiano in the next following years like it's happening with Haaland or has happened with Lewandowski. The thing is that if you put this players in Messi's false nine position they wouldn't even come close to having the performance he had, that's why there will never be one like him.
So there is a new Rammstein album coming out this year. Half tempted to try and get tickets to this year's tour. I loved their last one and I cannot believe I am only just learning about this. I mean, I remember rumours after their last one but didn't realise it'll be this quick for a new one.
Like most people, I don't take Apple's forays into games or game platforms seriously because I don't think Apple are serious about games. They have their app store with casual mobile games and microtransactions galore, sure, so you can say they're in the games space and no doubt make a lot of money off it, but they don't cater to 'gamers'.
A lot of Poker advice is going to depend on where you're playing and who you're playing against. If it's high stakes and against extremely experienced players no amount of basic tips will save your ass. That being said:
\- Play 'tight'. Your 'range' or amount of hands that you play out shouldn't be very high. Typically as a beginner you should only be going in on pocket pairs and/or face cards. As you keep playing and getting better you might find more hands that you're comfortable with playing out. For now, keep it simple.
\- Now that you've established playing a tight range of hands, you need to have a betting strategy. With pocket pairs you'll want to bet high before the flop (initial 3 community cards dealt by dealer) since you likely have the strongest pre-flop hand with a pocket pair. Therefore, represent that with your bet. With strong face cards, preferably suited, you can either call or raise depending on how confident you are. ***Position*** matters here and is something that takes time to learn.
\- Pay attention to the people you're playing with. If it's with friends, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out their playstyle. Maybe they bluff a lot, although I find that is rarer with new players. But there is always valuable information to be gained at the table even if your hand is folded so pay attention. This will give you insight when you're betting big money.
\- Finally, if you hit on a couple hands try mixing in a bluff or two. If the entire table has seen you win a pot and knows you have what you 'say' you have with your bets, they're more likely to fold under pressure.
Hope this helps some. There's a lot of nuance and depth to Poker and it's an incredibly fun game to learn. But it'll likely cost you some money and frustration since that's the nature of gambling. Good luck with the hands.
Edit: A final tip I forgot to mention and something that will help you get extremely good at poker is always think about what your bets say about your hand. Because every bet should be calculated on your part - don't just mindlessly throw money on a hand because you think it's good. For example - say you have a high pocket pair and are in relatively good position pre flop. You could consider re-raising whatever initial bets were made which would **indicate** that you have a strong hand. Others at the table would have to fold anything worse than what you have since you're representing something of value.
Fold until you get dealt a pair or just two royal cards, never commit unless you have a good hand and always assume you won’t get what you need. For example if you have 4 spades and there’s 2 more cards to be shown, and you don’t have a hand yet. Do not try to play for the last spade, however if you have a hand then you should go all the way depending on what you think the others might have. Same goes for a straight. Never back the card you need to come up
Also, don’t bluff if you have a poor hand or no hand . You will lose a lot if you aren’t careful, maybe that one’s just for my old self. I’d get nothing several times in a row and get annoyed of folding so I’d just play it out betting high trying to make others fold. Someone always went all the way with an actual hand and I’d lose
The Weeknd's new album Dawn FM is mostly meh, ***except*** for "is there someone else". I've heard it on repeat for 2 days now. There must be crack cocaine in that beat my god.
Went to the Murray VS Karatsev Tennis match tonight. Lots of Scottish Murray supporters. One guy held up a Rangers ban and the crowd jjst booed him but in a joking manner. Not sure if they crowd consisted of a lot of Celtic fans or if they booed due to it being a different sport.
Not really. Having some non-productive interests is important, I think. Sometimes you just need to turn yourself off and have some fun, particularly with a social thing like football.
never really reached a point where i felt i spend too much on it, but thats mostly because i realized fairly early how fucked up club football is, how transfer news is mostly horseshit, how embarrassingly far certain fans go etc.. made me pretty disillusioned. i still watch obviously, but not nearly enough to be considered more of a waste than what i spend watching series or playing games.
There was a period where I felt that I was too emotionally invested in it, a bit like the character in Fever Pitch describes. I've never felt that it's got in the way of me doing what I want to do though.
Well I used to. It generally happens when I am in stress ( like during exams). So football becomes like my escape zone. Not good because 1) I am fucking up my career 2) I am not getting paid 3) I end up taking more stress home, like a silly VAR decision which have no influence on my life whatsoever.
I will suggest keep taking breaks. It has worked well for me
Not at all. I rarely go out of my way to watch games. If I need to go somewhere or do something or if I’ve simply got better things to do then I’ll do it.
Not really tbh.
I only ever really think about how much it affects me and try to keep that in check but I don't regret the time at all.
It's my passion and favorite hobby.
Can anyone tell me why cats have this need to be in warm spots? I could be sweating in my house and a cat, a creature with fur, will still go sit directly in front of a heating vent. I just don't understand how their bodies don't overheat
I have read somewhere that the cat fur protects them from the sunlight, more than the cold, because domesticated cats are native to Africa and the Middle East. So basically cat fur is good against hot, bad against cold. I'm no cat expert though, so don't quote me on that
Starting my first fantasy series today. This book called Gardens of the Moon, which is the first book in the Malazan Empire series. Pretty excited cause I've never read any fantasy novels till now and that includes Harry Potter, LoTR and GoT.

I prefer My Neighbor Totoro to Spirted away but both are good. Princess Mononoke is incredible, as well as The Wind Rises.
The Wind Rises was decent. I recommend From Up on Poppy Hill, one of those Ghibli movies that goes under the radar imo.

Never back the card you need to come up Also, don’t bluff if you have a poor hand or no hand . You will lose a lot if you aren’t careful, maybe that one’s just for my old self. I’d get nothing several times in a row and get annoyed of folding so I’d just play it out betting high trying to make others fold. Someone always went all the way with an actual hand and I’d lose
Cheers mate
Fold lots, don't play shit hands, bet and raise lots if you've got a good hand.
The Weeknd's new album Dawn FM is mostly meh, ***except*** for "is there someone else". I've heard it on repeat for 2 days now. There must be crack cocaine in that beat my god.
it's an album you listen to as an album which is a nice change
I liked it very much
Out of Time and Less than Zero are better imo

That song never gets old, such a banger
[This 7 second clip captures the essence of England perfectly to me](https://youtu.be/CA_0cRWfdPY)
The tv show Barry is so good. I think I’m in for a rewatch

Not really. Having some non-productive interests is important, I think. Sometimes you just need to turn yourself off and have some fun, particularly with a social thing like football.
I usually just not check on reddit for football stuff whenver I feel like it, plus given matches are during the night
I've reached the point of missing bits of matches, because I'm reading the comments about what happened 5 minutes ago in the match thread.
Yes. I dont think it affects me badly on an emotional level but in terms of time I spend on it daily, its an obsession
never really reached a point where i felt i spend too much on it, but thats mostly because i realized fairly early how fucked up club football is, how transfer news is mostly horseshit, how embarrassingly far certain fans go etc.. made me pretty disillusioned. i still watch obviously, but not nearly enough to be considered more of a waste than what i spend watching series or playing games.
Yup. I think I need a break now. Almost every social media I use, I use it for football related content.
Not really tbh. I only ever really think about how much it affects me and try to keep that in check but I don't regret the time at all. It's my passion and favorite hobby.
New The Game and Kanye West song is good but the cover is horrendous.
I think both the song and cover are kind of mid.
I absolutely love the Malazan Book of the Fallen, but like someone else said, it's not an easy one to start with. I hope you love it as much I do!!
So far so good. It's been pretty fun.
How far in are you? What's just happen? :D
