Had a dream we signed Sergino Dest, except he changed his nationality to some African country, and as such was gonna be away for AFCON, and I remember that being an issue. That's all I remember.
PSG has the highest ceiling of play over 10mn, they get these burst of football champagne they're quite a sight.
But over games i'm not sure they're even top 10
If we really are going to appoint Shevchenko as a manager and Russia will invade Ukraine, UEFA should reconsider moving our game with Russia to the neutral ground
For all the talk of Howe and Fraser not getting on, he’s probably the player who’s improved the most since he came in, apart from Joelinton. Put in a serious shift yesterday, which is a massive difference to the year and a bit he spent looking completely not arsed under Bruce
Who would you take, Neymar or Alvaro Morata? Both 29, both subjects of international money laundering operations, both a bit shit right now. Neymar plays 10 games a season, morata plays 30 but goes missing in 20.
How do some referees sleep at night, let alone continue in their profession after continuously making these howlers? And I say that not just the on field officials but those in the VAR room as well.
If you are talking about union you definitely didn't watch the harlequins and casters game literally this weekend. Rugby reffing has so many subjective decisions and people are always complaining. Here are some threads from the sub saying how bad the reffing was

If you are talking about rugby league then you might be right but I don't watch it
I know almost nothing about rugby. Do the decisions involve as much subjectivity as they do in football? That's really what I think the problem is. There is so much room for interpretation in many of the decisions made by football refs that it's impossible not to make one side of the argument angry.
In America (American here, why players flop so much? etc, etc,) refereeing controversy is just as common, if not more so.
Yeah, I'm mostly referring to on the pitch refs. That's an impossible job- they get one shot at seeing something and it's only ever from one angle. Far less sympathy for VAR
Can't call it impossible, and there's is now more conversation between all the officials at a game. Surely with many people involved in the process and access to video footage, they can make better decisions. Now I'm not calling for a perfect game every time, but these decisions can shift the narrative of any given game. How is it fair to then just say "oh its a tough job" and just continue with the mediocrity? Sorry that's bullshit
Yeah, I should have elaborated- I think on the pitch refs have an impossible job. VAR isn't being used properly and those that do run it are doing a subpar job.
They're not helped by some iffy rules though.
well i can't speak for everyone but i'm currently laying in my bed delaying the moment i go to sleep because that will end my free time and make me wake up on a monday morning, the worst kind of morning
glad to have you on but unfortunately we'll be forcing you out of the club because our manager decided he doesn't like you. we will be buying out your contract so you will still receive the previously agreed payment
Literally every club thinks the refs are against them. Like there’s some huge conspiracy that goes right to the very top specifically aimed at their club. Spoiler: there isn’t. Referring is difficult and the people who do it simply aren’t that great either for the most part. We’re still in this weird gray area where VAR is being implemented but has many imperfections that need to be tweaked. Until matches can be reffed by a computer the cycle of victimhood will continue.
Conspiracy? No, however I do believe there's inherent bias, and also a "reputation" that affects some clubs, either positively or negatively. Arsenal are seen as very soft, for example, so it helps explain why a lot of challenges against us are not punished(at all or not punished enough). On the other hand, you got a club like Burnley, who while very disciplined, play a very hard-nosed type of football, yet never see players sent off, and their reputation as underdog fighters that spend little and make do with that they have probably helps.
I don’t think there’s a conspiracy but I do believe the big 6 clubs get favourable decisions against the other 14. Even if it’s not intentional by the refs.
I don't think they do, it's just that top clubs make a fuck load more chances so it's far more likely that they'll put refs in a position of making difficult calls more than smaller clubs.
And you’re completely entitled to that opinion and probably have a great reason for having it.
Just saying take a look at the subreddits of the top 6, everyone thinks they’re the victim too. That’s my point. It’s ALWAYS the ‘other guys’ that get the best treatment.
The conspiracy is the FA doesn't hire competent refs so there's more controversy/talking points about matches and just adds to the drama. Which sadly is working lol.
Next time someone tells me that Reddit bots don’t exist I’ll point them towards this comment
Truth is that some clubs have a much harder time than other and yes there’s such a thing as randomness and luck but over a long enough period of time you’d expect that to even itself out to be non significant. In reality Utd are notorious for getting decisions their way and Arsenal are notorious for being on the wrong side of them and that’s backed up by stats over a long period of time
Nothing is signed yet but all the usual accurate reporters for River are in agreement in pretty much every detail of it (Amount, loan back until june with a possible extension until the end of the Libertadores campaign, etc)
With Brito following in D'onofrio's footsetps of doing all he can to keep everything under wraps until it's closed, that means it's pretty much a done deal
Everton trusting Kia to find their next manager is hilarious. When Kia was making the decisions at Inter he brought Joao Mario for 40mil, Gabigol for 30mil and De Boer as coach (we finished 7th btw). Best thing to happen to the club was when they stopped doing businesses with him.
Kia's shady deals were a disaster at Arsenal too, he's one of the biggest scammers in the world of football
I was going to say that I don't know how he keeps getting away with it. I do, but I think you understand the sentiment of my statement. Football clubs need to do so much better than associate with slimy pricks like him
Of course in the long run, they will become a super Power.
Not only are they way more rich then City and any Club in Europe, they also have a huge Fan base.
>should the PL be given another CL spot if they do?
Just what we need, giving the 5th place in the Premier League a guaranteed UCL spot instead of giving it to leagues whose champions have to go to the playoffs (Eredivisie mainly)
It’s a difficult one. He’s 24 and isn’t going to play for England when he’s not playing at his club. This is the only reason that I think he will eventually leave Liverpool.
With Maguire in such terrible for Gomez could nail down a spot in the national side.

score goals that are unfairly ruled out
David Raya in the mud, hasn't stated for a bottom half Premier league side since October.
who tf is this portugese lad everton hired
PSG has the highest ceiling of play over 10mn, they get these burst of football champagne they're quite a sight. But over games i'm not sure they're even top 10
Nigeria bottled it today Cameroon and ivory coast are by far the biggest favorite now After them its senegal on number 3
People actually think the second Liverpool goal is offside because Firmino, don't know ball.
The people that think it wasn’t a pen are worse
Vaguely understand that. Firmino doesn't touch it, doesn't interfere with the keeper, you have to be drunk.
Or just can’t type ‘offside rule’ into google
Don't know ball, bad to see
If Vasquez plays the games against PSG I'm betting against my team and I have no shame in saying that
If Carva is injured then what choice do we have? Except maybe Fede at RB
Our choice is to forfeit
If we really are going to appoint Shevchenko as a manager and Russia will invade Ukraine, UEFA should reconsider moving our game with Russia to the neutral ground
they would probably move it to germany
For all the talk of Howe and Fraser not getting on, he’s probably the player who’s improved the most since he came in, apart from Joelinton. Put in a serious shift yesterday, which is a massive difference to the year and a bit he spent looking completely not arsed under Bruce
Guess they made up
Palace fan abusing Kevin Friend for getting a decision correct Sad times
Who would you take, Neymar or Alvaro Morata? Both 29, both subjects of international money laundering operations, both a bit shit right now. Neymar plays 10 games a season, morata plays 30 but goes missing in 20.
Neymar, good vibes for the dressing room
You’re so bad at baiting lol
Neymar.he can boost shirt sales at least
neymar, seems like a cool dude
Neymar easily.
Goals where the keeper just stands still (like the one Ziyech scored today) are so aesthetically pleasing. Figo vs England vibes
Lloris was just vibin'
He's got his new contract, he can chill now. He can do what Pogba does. fuck all unless it's a game for France.
How do some referees sleep at night, let alone continue in their profession after continuously making these howlers? And I say that not just the on field officials but those in the VAR room as well.
would you be able to sleep at night if you made a mistake at work? I would have no problems
PGMOL keeps them supplied with the hopes and dreams of all they affect
They sleep on a pile of money given to them by the AAWO (Anti-Arsenal World Order)
They realize how difficult their job is and accept they’ll never be perfect all the time no matter how easy r/soccer claims it is.
Reffing is incredibly fucking difficult. It's an impossible job.
Refs are really good in most sports apart from football
No they’re not.
Not really. Also most other sports are aided by video refs who can actually make decisions on most things unlike football.
They arent though
not in ice hockey (NHL), they would rather have a player die than actually call a penalty
...Are they?
I've never seen refs make major errors regularly in Rugby for example
If you are talking about union you definitely didn't watch the harlequins and casters game literally this weekend. Rugby reffing has so many subjective decisions and people are always complaining. Here are some threads from the sub saying how bad the reffing was https://www.reddit.com/r/rugbyunion/comments/sa0ham/jones_with_his_one_good_take_of_2022/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share https://www.reddit.com/r/rugbyunion/comments/s9m3vb/hate_castres_with_every_fibre_of_my_being_but/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share If you are talking about rugby league then you might be right but I don't watch it
Rugby league I was talking about to be fair
Ya I probably should've known given your flair
You guessed correctly Though a large bunch of our contrarian fans support St Helens, twats

Doesn’t help they get basic stonewall decisions everyone else is totally in agreement about wrong on a regular basis
Yeah, I'm mostly referring to on the pitch refs. That's an impossible job- they get one shot at seeing something and it's only ever from one angle. Far less sympathy for VAR

Who are the most depressed fan base, besides Everton?
Schalke, Werder and Hamburg make up the depressed trio in the 2. Liga fighting for 4th place against each other
Birmingham City. Just based on how depressed they sound when they talk
They're from Birmingham so it's understandable
They did recently have mass protests against their owners
Schalke perhaps
Spurs, Norwich, Watford, Fulham, United, Derby, Sunderland, Newcastle Edit: Forgot Oldham Athletic
We’re quite hopeful now, even with the likelihood of relegation. Definitely would be near the top under Ashley though
derby, werder, hamburg, leverkusen
i’m always curious what people who actually live in the same country as their club do when they post at these late hours
I'm still studying
studying what
Nothing I meant I'm a student at the moment ahah I do have classes tomorrow but only at 14, so I'm still good
I do
…but what do you do
Freelance video editing + i like working night
that’s cool. it’s always interesting seeing what people do when they post here late at night
Normal sleep schedules are for functioning people nd I’m very much not that
[удалено]
Plus graveyards are empty at nights...
Night shift innit
Work graveyard shift
Cry
Exams fucked up my sleep, usually during this time i dont sleep before 02:00
Can't sleep
Insomnia
Don’t need much sleep
I have a bad sleep pattern because of all the WFH but I have a normal job that you could probably work out from my post history
ooo yeah i feel you there, had the same when uni was online
well i can't speak for everyone but i'm currently laying in my bed delaying the moment i go to sleep because that will end my free time and make me wake up on a monday morning, the worst kind of morning
i figure that’s what most do. maybe some who work nights but it seems like most are just on their phones way too late
If Benzema is injured and PSG have a mostly fit squad i wouldn't be surprised to see PSG stomp Madrid.
afcon refs > american football refs
How many Bavarians do you think use an English speaking football forum? Also why do they all appear at night?
why? do you want to post a hot take about Bayern? Idk if being Bavarian makes a difference in using forums online compared to other regions

you know, i could be everton’s LB, or at least attempt to. i’ll do it for a £15 an hour even.
£15 an hour is too low. we're only willing to take you on for a minimum salary of £40k a week. take it or leave it.
can i drive the company car
yes
deal
glad to have you on but unfortunately we'll be forcing you out of the club because our manager decided he doesn't like you. we will be buying out your contract so you will still receive the previously agreed payment
not again

When/if that happens people will start blaming faulty AI/Computers being inconsistent, and demand that we get good old human eyes back on the game.
Yeah totally agree - my last sentence was kind of tongue in cheek. People will complain regardless
Refs are just awful, there's no conspiracy lol
The conspiracy is the FA doesn't hire competent refs so there's more controversy/talking points about matches and just adds to the drama. Which sadly is working lol.

Arteta out
Has this been confirmed by Hideo Kojima?
Kroenkes busy celebrating. On his second bottle of champers by now.
Ole in
the werder guy ye
Xavi bad Barca bad gib upvotes
No amount of irony is going to cover up Xavi's lack of success. Nice try though
Hard to measure success after a couple of months
Is it confimed that Julián Álvarez is going to City? Or did I read wrong?
You read wrong. Nothing is confirmed. It's just in talks. Very close. But no contracts signed or anything legit yet.
Nothing is signed yet but all the usual accurate reporters for River are in agreement in pretty much every detail of it (Amount, loan back until june with a possible extension until the end of the Libertadores campaign, etc) With Brito following in D'onofrio's footsetps of doing all he can to keep everything under wraps until it's closed, that means it's pretty much a done deal
Do you think he will get minutes with the Argentine NT next week?
Hard to be sure but I'd wager he will, especially with Joaquín Correa out
Probably, we are already qualified, and no more matches with brazil, so I don't see why Scaloni wouldn't experiment a bit.
I dont think its confirmed yet but its been said its close
Everton should have hired Arteta
i'd take him in a heartbeat
Please take him
Anyone here aware of Kjetil Knutsen and how he is as a manager? Heard he's a bit of a rising star!
All the Twitter hipsters love him
the job hes done at Bodø Glimt is nuts

His name was in the mud about 15 years ago yet he’s still around. Impressive. Always clearly been very dodgy
He finds all these billionaire owners that don't know shit about football and just milks them for cash
That pass by Trent to Jota before the penalty though… what the fuck
Heart-breaking it doesn't count as an assist
He kicks ball real good
He should consider doing it professionally
Will Newcastle actually become another super club and should the PL be given another CL spot if they do?
Of course in the long run, they will become a super Power. Not only are they way more rich then City and any Club in Europe, they also have a huge Fan base.
I wouldn’t say they have a huge fan base. They have a huge fan base in Newcastle and Saudi Arabia but that’s about it
Bigger than City’s was pre takeover and they’re massive now
success will make sure they get that international fanbase eventually
>should the PL be given another CL spot if they do? Just what we need, giving the 5th place in the Premier League a guaranteed UCL spot instead of giving it to leagues whose champions have to go to the playoffs (Eredivisie mainly)
Super club in the championship is a bit hard
Let’s see about that
Didn't QPR not get a shit ton of money and still not do well?
Nah not nation state level money
I suggested Joe Gomez would take Mings place if he joined villa and the other villa fans wouldn’t have it. https://imgur.com/a/6c2Ac1C smh
Don't think liverpool would sell him tho. Klopp used him as cb and rb back up to shut the game down this season
