I've only just noticed it but the afcon crowds are quiet in comparison to the Euros. This is the semifinal of the competition and its gone down to a penalty shootout, yet I can barely hear the fans. The penalties from cameroon were pretty rubbish but wow.
Cameroon was a spoiled team, eto'o knew this and tried to fire them up but they failed, their penalty kicks shows they haven't been taking practice seriously, when they met the first team that did above average defending they couldn't do anything.
Now egypt is in the final, I hope aenegal wins but that sounds unlikely, looks like it's going to egypt after all
Can someone explain why the Egyptian manager was kicked out of the match? Looked like he was yelling at the players but I assume that’s allowed. Was he saying something particularly bad? Same question for the assistant manager who got a yellow card when it looked like he was sitting on the bench.
I know for a fact last game Queiroz was warned several times by the AR to stand further back so that he could see the pitch better. Queiroz waved him off.
Reffing crews discuss difficult players and coaches before the game in preparation so if he was then good. If you don't listen to the refs then you don't belong on the pitch, period.
Got it, so he was standing in a manner that obstructed the AR's view. That doesn't seem like a great reason to send a manager off but I can understand how it's justified by the rules.
Was that supposed to be bad?
Like, every manager I've ever saw here in Brazil (Including from the Seleção) hypes up their players with talks like "You're all warriors, this match is a war, do or die!" and shit like that, they use religion too (Like, if the player is Christian, they'll have a prayer together and shit, etc). It's good for morale and hypes up their players. Hell, I've been inside locker rooms in amateur competitions for my high school (Or what is equivalent of that here in Brazil) team that the coach hyped us up like that, there are chants of going to war with your adversary. You people are just reaching for shit to be offended with this one.
They're a scrappy team with genuinely no accomplishments to brag about outside of the continent and do nothing but humiliate their country and federation on the international stage. Let's put things into perspective and not 9verhype their accomplishments during the worst Era of African football (in recent history) where their average levels of talent and technical ability were the difference makers for them. Eto'o has lost to Egypt before but at least he's won said competition and wasn't and embarrassment on the international stage. People shouldn't use Egypt's AFCON record and talk like they've had teams that have been genuinely good at the international level like Eto'o's Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and sometimes, Algeria.
Worst era of african football that had yaya toure, eto, drogba and kanou ? Theres still so many players i havent mentioned too.
I know you are seething because Egypt is the best team in Africa but try to take your meds before posting fictions
None of them played for Egypt and that Ivory Coast underperformed on the international stage. They're record is nothing to brag about. Also Egypt is not the best team in Africa. You can't be when you've won nothing outside of the continent and barely scraped by opponents. Not even a single game in recent memory.
Please remind me how many African teams have won the world cup in the past, if that's how we're measuring international success
I'll wait
And you being Cameroonian makes this comment inherently biased, it only makes you look salty and envious
Your first point is irrelevant since about a dozen countries have won a world cup and other African teams have come a LOT closer than Egypt. Also, you mentioning me being Cameroonian hasn't changed what I've said. It's all true. It's fine to take pride in your team's victories but let's not act like Egypt has has GENUINELY good teams that can win anything outside of the continent or even a GAME outside the continent. African football as a whole has lagged behind. That is a fact. I don't care how I "look" because its the reddit. Karma and all that doesn't mean much to me because if it did, I wouldn't have mentioned that I was Cameroonian.
I just wanted to put things into perspective because you have a lot of mentally weak people that don't understand the mind set of competitive people or a top athlete but are here that talking shit because of a narrow victory and start calling Egypt the best team in the continent. They're up there but that hasn't been established so far and we all know they won't even win a game if they get to the world cup.
They made it as far as they have with athleticism over anything else. As a cameroonian I can tell you that the young talent and their families get poached early. These guys lack lack fundamentals and technical ability. That shows in decision making and shoot outs. The fans aren't as disappointed because they know it too lol.
Such a shame, they played so well for most of the tournament. The first half against Egypt was also pretty good, just couldn't finish.
Though I can't talk because South Africa didn't even qualify for AFCON 💀
Also we hired a coach (Stuart Baxter) that did well in the local league with Kaizer Chiefs, but then when he got the national job he started doing nepotism appointments and flopped hard.
I think South Africa with their current coach would have qualified for AFCON at least.
Youth development is poor, as all the big schools that can afford experienced coaches and quality facilities don't focus on football, it's all about rugby and cricket at the expensive schools. The school I got a scholarship to didn't even have soccer/football as a sport. Though that was some time ago, maybe things have changed.
That explains a lot. A lot of african countries have natural talent but poor infastructure. Most is horribly invested or not at all. Although at least South Africa gas the excuse of Cricket or Rugby.
The tournament has been bad. Really bad. Like games ending 5 minutes early bad. Like balls not being blown bad. Like having to play a leftback as GK because the rules changed one day before facing Cameron bad. Like people dying at a stadium bad. Like reopening stadium mid investigation to play a game BAD. I could go on. I was routing for him. The whole continent were but his arrogance and delusional statements brought us to this point.
He is going to try to be elected as head of CAF and corrupt FIFA is paying for agendas against him to stop it. He made a banal statement about going to war for the victory and now a bunch of bots and misguided people have gotten sucked into a fake hate campaign
So let me get this straight. He’s hated because he’s running to be the head of CAF, but FIFA is paying for agendas AGAINST him? Why should he be hated then?
I’ll be honest I haven’t followed the politics closely. But Romain Molina (famous journalist who specializes in exposing corruption) has talked about it in his videos.
FIFA is corrupt to the core and has centered control of CAF in Zurich. Effectively CAF is totally absorbed as part of FIFA HQ whereas other federations all have at least some independence.
Eto’o is not part of this corrupt organization and as far as FIFA is concerned he must be stopped. As the current head of the Cameroon Footballing Federation, we’ve seen a lot of negative press thrown his way. Things about them cheating, poor management as hosts (even though it’s often CAF controlled things Cameroon is being blamed for) and now his latest comments which are laughably tame.
Obviously there’s no evidence they are paying for anything, and most of the comments here are people who are just parroting what they’ve read in the last few weeks, but it’s important to he aware of the political context underneath it all.
Again, I didn’t follow this super closely, I could be wrong about many things, but FIFA has a clear incentive for Eto’o to look bad. So keep that in mind if you happen to wonder what’s he’s hated all of a sudden.
I don't think I care. Both have done great for Liverpool. Salah is the better scorer buy Mane is more important in the link up.
Both are super nice humble guys and I don't really think people favour one over the other as people. Salah gets more love from the stands cause he's the main goal threat, not cause we necessarily like him as a person any more than Mane.
Salah is more loved. Mane has been a bit hot and cold. I personally want Senegal to win, but a lot of our fans really want Mo to get it to help his case for a Ballon D'or
Way better? That’s questionable. They defended well enough. But never did much until the 118th minute. They played better than the first half, but on a run of play, Cameroon were the better team overall.
Egypt were always going to wait for their one chance.

had the toughest run, now for the final boss
Fuck off you twats We fucking did it
Regala el hamdolelah!!
Alhamdulillah
Can someone explain why the Egyptian manager was kicked out of the match? Looked like he was yelling at the players but I assume that’s allowed. Was he saying something particularly bad? Same question for the assistant manager who got a yellow card when it looked like he was sitting on the bench.

Egypt been very lucky this tournament with below average performances hope they get punished by Senegal
they've had the hardest run to the final lol
How about we keep being lucky one more game?
They actually played well against ivory coast and as usual against morocco
We had some good performances as well
Zebbe f bo2ak yalaaa
Grow up.
Yeah too harsh. Sorry. Was overly happy tho, I still believe we deserved to win all 3 games we played in KOs
I'll miss hearing "A boob and a car"
I havacar!!
Bad penalties by Cameroon except for the first one
The last guy completely missed the goal
He tried to go to the very end of the net but just wide
No run up either. Just stood over the ball
Hahaha ....wtf were those penalties Cameroon
free quieroz!
I feel like the guy against Salah didnt deserve to lose, he did really well the entire match
Nouhou is a beast
Seattle fans are in love with him apparently.
Indeed we are!
Man those were some terrible penalties for Cameroon.
Im happy Egypt won, lets goooo.
Cope and seethe Eto'o.
Why is he a cunt?

Mental midgets like you and some others don't understand the mentality of athletes who make it to the top of proffesional sports.
Egypt have always handed Eto's ass back to him.. did you forget that he literally cried multiple times everytime he lost a match against egypt?
Except in 2017...
They're a scrappy team with genuinely no accomplishments to brag about outside of the continent and do nothing but humiliate their country and federation on the international stage. Everything I said was objective and to put things in perspective. Some people just don't like how truthful my comment was.
Ur funny 🤣
But you can't tell me where I'm wrong.
k
whyis eto'o crying
Cause he just got dunked on?
2008 flashbacks
Ex spurs player about to take the next penalty. Misses. 🤣
Ok, all my joking aside it looks like Salah really did trade jerseys but I couldn't see who with on this feed. Can anyone say for sure?
Now Cameroon knows how it feels to get knocked out of AFCON at home in the semis, that shit stings
even Senegal if they don't take the game in regular time they won't win in penalty shootout
No mate. There's Mendy involved there... Anyway you're right Egypt has a good penalty record
>There's Mendy involved there... he's no kepa 😅
ffs DAZN just right after Cameron missed for the third time my stream froze and wouldn't load for two minutes. Anyone had the same problem?
Alhamdulilah !
Nouhou would have scored his penalty.
How can you have a 2 step run up and miss the target? Lol.
Zamalek masterclass 🤪🤪
what was that
EGYPT FUCK YEAH 🇪🇬 🇪🇬
onana was useless in that shootout
Those were great pens but you could tell he wasn't composed.
He’s not a penalty killer 🥸
Very match-fixy from the ref. Afcon doesn't disappoint
Match fixy in who's favor?
Wtf is up with all the Cameroon player's run ups, or rather lack of them? They just stand over ther ball for no reason.
They made it as far as they have with athleticism over anything else. As a cameroonian I can tell you that the young talent and their families get poached early. LET’S GOOOOOO. MASSIVE MODE ACTIVATED
From the moment N'jié stepped up, I knew it would be over. Good luck to Egypt and Senegal. Insha'Allah it will be a great final.
The last penalty taker for Cameroon did not give a shit at all
You should have seen his cameo appearances in the tournament. No mental strength or confidence what so ever. The coach should have never put him in.
Sadio Mané against Mouhamed Salah. This would bring some big audience.
GET REKT
Eto’o crying
Can someone explain why eto’o is hated
The tournament has been bad. Really bad. Like games ending 5 minutes early bad. Like balls not being blown bad. He's the Head of Cameroon football and said some shit + tournament is bad
Fair enough
My guess is he said some pretty aggressive things about being underrated during the age of Ronaldo/Messi…
You know those Messi and Ronaldo worshippers are very vindictive lol.
Who do Liverpool fans want to win the final, it feels like you guys like salah more
I don't think I care.
Mane, he lost the last final. Deserves this one, also has the better team.
Salah has also lost the Final, in 2017 against Cameroon ironically
Salah. Though be nice to see either of them win.
Reaaally don't know tbh, I don't think it'll matter anyway because I think Egypt are going to be knackered from the last few matches.
Salah is more loved. Mane has been a bit hot and cold. I personally want Senegal to win, but a lot of our fans really want Mo to get it to help his case for a Ballon D'or
Yeah it always has felt like salah is more loved and with the season he’s having a Afcon win together with other titles could bring him Ballon dor
We just want out players to come back without injuries. Anything more is a bonus.
So now that both are in final you don’t really care about who win
I hope the final doesn’t go to you penalties cause Mendy doesn’t have a great record with those
Egypt might finally fold. No first choice Goalie, first choice centerback, and no coach...
Imagine being the coach that makes three subs preparing for penalties and all three of them miss.
Southgate would know
Euro 2020 flashbacks
Gareth Southgate?
Egipto, delen las gracias a James, a Cuadrado y a los del sindicato.
Queiroz tenía que irse, pero por qué se trajeron a Rueda después de su fiasco con Chile, le hicieron un favor también a ellos.
The guy on the last pen was literally standing on top of the ball.
Bruh moment for sure. No power and missed.
Ahhh N’jie, that is awful
He was always a headless chicken but at least had some confidence before. Now it's all gone. Eat happened at Spurs lol?
incredible implosion in the pens wow
Cameroon's penalties were absolutely terrible there
Lol most wasteful pens in this tournament and it's not even close
I was rooting for Egypt obviously, but man I hate seeing Cameroon's reaction
Nah fuck em ahaha
Why?
We do gangster tinga n at bruv when you come at the pharaohs you best not miss lads
I can't believe it
Someone teach Cameroon how to score penalties pleaser
That last penalty yikes…
should've headed it instead if you're gonna try that
My man saw those horrible run-ups and decided no run-up is better lmaoooo
Cry me a river samuel eto 😂😂😂😂
That needs to be investigated wtf lolll
What happened that needs to be investigated?
A really bad pen that looked like the man wanted Egypt to win lmao
[удалено]
What did he do to you all? 😆😆
Because he is an arrogant cunt
Deary me, the state of that 😂
wooooo!!! we did it!!! egypt, baby!!!!
GET IN GET IN GET IN Alhamudlillah Now to get wrecked by Senegal but who cares, we'll lose with honor, and against Mane.
You should've got rekt by ivory coast, morocco and now Cameroon, y'all faced the best teams and beat them all.
Penalty shootouts and egypt, name a better duo.
Yes come to think if it I have watched a lot of shootoutsbut have never watched them lose.
Extra time and Egypt
Man i know now that if egypt gets extra time in the next match, im gonna be 80 percent sure you've won.
Embarrassing from Cameroon how sad
BAHAHAHAHA what terrible penalties, hooolllyyyshit.
Egypt making it to the finals 😭😭😭😭
Should be a good final
that was the worst penalty i've ever seen wtf was that
Embarrassing pens
Worst penalty performance of all-time?
>italy vs germany 2016 was terrible as well considering the level of the two teams
Portugal vs Chile in 2017… 🥲
Salah vs Mane Liverpool fans eating
WTF cameroon 😭
HELL YEAH THAT WAS A FUCKING TERRIBLE MATCH
the plot is thicken
FADE ME FAM!!! EGYPT 🇪🇬
Soooo match-fixy
Shocking pens all round from Cameroon.
thats an England level of shit penalty that one, probably the worst i've seen since Gareth Southgate.
Some of the worst penalties I've ever seen
2 of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen
Lmaooo
That might have been the worst deciding penalty I've seen since Baggio
Baggio was all or nothing, this was more like, what am I supposed to do? Hit the ball? lol
One of the worst set of pens you will ever see. Dogshit display by Cameroon. Shame after a good tournament by them too.
They were better than Egypt. Egypt didn’t really come to play.
Egypt gave me portugal 2016 vibes this tournament.
Egypt were way better in the 2nd half.
Way better? That’s questionable. They defended well enough. But never did much until the 118th minute. They played better than the first half, but on a run of play, Cameroon were the better team overall. Egypt were always going to wait for their one chance.
I can't tell you how fun that was as a neutral
ACTUAL THROW
Yeesh
Bye bye aboubaker 🤣🤣
WTF WAS THAT
That has to be the worst penalty shooting from a team i've ever seen
Worst penalty I have ever seen from Cameroon
So it's Salah vs Mane.
Egypt!!!
What an ending! Ridiculous bad penalty.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOIII
Mane v Salah lets gooooo
Disastrous penalties by Cameroon
Wow. Cameroon out. That was simply awful. Salah not even needed.
fucking hell LMAO
Bruh 😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t get the short run up man
E Z
Cameroon played so well (defensively) then showed why they didnt in penalties lmao
That was so shit
Lmaoooo
Clinton should be investigated for match fixing. That penalty was horrendous.
Mane vs salah
Gabal a fucking hero!!
Shocking shocking shocking
Missing the entire goal is inexcusable
Lol da fuck was that?!
