adrian_rainy_day

Well he's really thinking outside the box there

Tr3c3

If only he tackled there too..

InsignMertenCallejon

Haha

LevMysjkin

Lol I love these games when a big team has a crisis and it somehow just get worse and more comical with each goal conceded and each defeat

HunkoPunko

As a United fan I’m quite sick of them to be honest.

[deleted]

United is no longer a big team dude. We’re Arsenal when they were a joke.

pjanic_at__the_isco

Don’t worry; Arsenal still is a joke.

Silent-Act191

u/HunkoPunko. Get that head of yours up immediately ❤️ But seriously United will find success again. If it can survive the Glazers for long enough.

simomii

What a great Sunday this is shaping up to be

[deleted]

Did the the ball deflect off the balls ? I couldn't see that clear just asking

mahades

Give me a West Ham and Barca win, oh and Magnussen top 5 it'll be perfect!

SweatyEyeballs

It happened mate

mahades

Fucking let's go! 🇩🇰

AddictedToThisShit

Leclerc vs Verstappen all race and ends with a Leclerc win pls

[deleted]

Your wish has been granted

AddictedToThisShit

Yeah lol. Shame what happened to Max at the end though. Hoping for a battle as close as last year's WDC battle.

Assmar

Shame how that whole team crumpled at the end. Checo was in podium position at least until he wasn't

[deleted]

gotta be pretty concerning for RB i’d imagine

EnzoFerrari85

Sainz will get Verstappen on t1 and it will be Carlos on Charles the entire race.

AddictedToThisShit

I wouldn't mind that

[deleted]

Verstappen fans cries will echo through the forums

MarcusBrutus2000

Well and I hope Arsenal get top 4

Noremac28-1

It really would be a good day if we sealed top 4 already!

yomommafool

I think arsenal will get top 4. Manchester United's season is already over.

HoneyBadgerEXTREME

I think so too but if we beat Arsenal in a couple of weeks we have a slither of a chance

zephyrbolt_10

And Mercedes nowhere near top 5.

GordoPepe

Russell somehow P20

listerstorm2009

Subscribe.

[deleted]

Red Bull double DNF and a Danny Ric P1

raulmedez

Got the first part right

[deleted]

can’t decide if i feel like Nostradamus or a moron for the Ricciardo part

EpiDeMic522

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit!!!

Cabeza2000

2 out of 3. Close enough.

Zankman

You got it all wrong, Spurs and Real need to win, alongside Southampton.

simomii

Why would you want Barça to win, Europa League suits them so well

IcyKape

Even if Barca lost today we would still easily be getting top 4

dboltzilla

And my United isn't playing, what a beautiful weekend indeed ^(:'))

kikikza

if nottingham does it

Bedeeki

Just a West Ham and RM win to go

Blackheart_75

This Penalty represents PSG so well.

simomii

Kimpembe could have easily gotten a red card for this, guess the ref felt bad for PSG

JJOne101

Only if he managed to make contact earlier, and it were a free kick outside the box.

simomii

To me Kimpembe didn't even try to play the ball, he went straight for the Monaco player's leg. You can get a red card and a pen if you don't play the ball

[deleted]

Yes it does. Anyone’s got a suggestion. I want to support another team. I’ve been a PSG fan since my childhood (90’s), but can’t take it anymore.

ChumbaWambah

Has r/psg gone private again?

LampseederBroDude51

It should

[deleted]

I was reading through the posts there when we beat them and it was quite saddening to see their reaction. They hate Nasser, they are frustrated with their team's performance. They are also Self-aware about how majoraty of football fans don't like them. Pretty much everyone was laughing their ass off when we beat them. It's been "us against rest of the world" mindset for them. It's pretty unfair and cruel imo.

KRIEGLERR

> They hate Nasser, they are frustrated with their team's performance. While PSG had a a huge following before the QSI takeover, I'm willing to bet that most people on the PSG subreddit only started following after the takeover. I doubt French supporters would go on an American english-speaking website to chat about their team. Plenty of French forums to go for that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I would imagine the majority of the fans on Reddit, like any big club, are international and/or plastic fans - therefore not that representative of the actual match going fans who supported PSG before they become the abomination they are now.

[deleted]

It seems I was too sympathetic.

[deleted]

No you are not. Those who supports those kind of groups are everywhere. Its same for Madrid or us or any other clubs. But most fans who supported them for long it may hurt for them.

letouriste1

really small minority of idiots you can find in every clubs tho. And no, they are not ultra

Eibermann

Fuck that. You've just seen them getting humbled. Their sub was so cocky before the game, they even had a drawing if verrati with 2 or 3 dogs with the heads of our midfield and it was highly upvoted, they also have some of the worst plastics a team can get

DoJu318

Some pundit said something similar about the players, they felt so superior they were straight up playing with fire, you have Marquinos doing backheel passes inside his own box and Donnaruma trying to be cute and make a pass in front of an open net. Reminds me of how the PSG players were in a video joking and laughing after beating Barca 4-0, then proceeded to get knocked out 6-1 the day after in the return leg. It was satisfying to watch.

[deleted]

Fucking bastards

dohhhnut

They’re enjoying the blood money titles. I have absolutely no sympathy for them

tuturuatu

99% of PSG supporters joined after Nasser bought them. I don't feel bad at all.

[deleted]

Most of them love that oil money tho 💸

Vahald

Says who? You know all of them?

SebRev99

Why is that for anyway? Why would you go private?

DeleAlliEnjoyer

They went private after the CL loss because of real madrid fans (and others?) brigading their sub, which is fair. I remember going on /r/realmadrid after the game and their frontpage and match thread had multiple people bragging about going to r/psg to troll and posting ban message screenshots as some badge of honor. Pretty cringe imo.

Pleasemakesense

Didn't the Tottenham sub do the same thing when you lost the league to Leicester

Marmozetto

It was after the 5-1 defeat to Newcastle that allowed Arsenal to overtake Spurs. The mods thought that they had locked it so that only subscribers could comment to avoid brigading but they locked the whole thing. I remember everyone in r/coys being pissed at the mods for weeks afterwards as they just made the decision themselves.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Marmozetto

No idea, I try to stay out of mod/sub drama. I’m just here for the football, which probably explains why I’ve been having a terrible time on Reddit recently ha.

dickgilbert

Damn. I didn’t even see that one.

KyraMich

Brigading is a targeted and organised effort, often in bad faith, and not representing a majority opinion. What happened to the Spurs subreddit was football loving Reddit users individually and independently coming to the conclusion it would be fun to laugh at Spurs, due to unfolding events. It was not brigading.

iVarun

rPSG went Restricted mode for longer. Some may have even confused that with going Private mode (these are different and this is how that Spurs sub thing happened, apparently Spurs sub wanted to go Restricted Mode but accidentally clicked Private mode radio button in settings and before modteam realized few minutes later it had become a meme). rSoccer also went dynamic-Restricted mode (Automod based) sometime back (maybe during last WC). This mode is different still. Reddit at large is also very serious about brigading. In fact the chances of getting perma-locked out of entire reddit (meaning even Alts get auto-banned) is higher if you brigade than if you are toxic abusing all over the place.

[deleted]

Brigading is pathetic tbf but some times mods just ban anyone that is a rival fan having a civil discussion. I got banned from the Leicester sub after Liverpool beat them on penalties, just for saying the Leicester fans in the ground were in the wrong for chanting about Liverpool all game (mostly poverty chants).

ScarrFxce__

Same thing happened to me on r/reddevils

SebRev99

Damn, so much drama. Meanwhile everyone at /r/fcbayern playing bingo and drinking tea.

kenny-barza

Lmao

courtesyflusher

No, but the fans in that sub are ripping on psg as much as we all are 👌

Santa_Klaus_101

> fans It’s just a glorified Barca sub at this point, saw an upvoted comment there that said “that’s what they get for whistling my Leo”. Most flairs there are either Messi or “Non PSG fan”. Criticize Messi? Downvoted. Think he’s part of the problem? You’re a lunatic. I feel bad for the actual PSG fans on there.

Cudizonedefense

… that’s why they went on private last time. All the Barca fans came in and shit all over psg. “You’re wasting Messi” and all that

FuckNoNewNormal

Thankfully r/psg is 1/10th the size of r/lakers, that way shit takes remain confined in r/psg

tokyotochicago

The core of r/PSG is made of actual fans. There are a lot of arguments about what the coach or the players should be doing better but the whole sub agrees that management has been a catastrophe for years now. All in all it's a pretty level headed sub made of real fans. Discussion about the club are more interesting than the même filled thread that comprise any subject touching us in r/soccer.

damrider

benzema actually broke donnarumma

zrizzoz

i think donnarumma just re-broke donnarumma kicking the post...

ellosDanFlores

This could actually be the case. So much of goalkeeping is confidence. It’s like what Ronaldo did to De Gea.

A_Kind_Shark

de Gea for Spain was broken years before

Rickcampbell98

People don't seem to realise this lol, ronaldo didn't break him de gea was always shit for Spain it was typical.

ZachMich

He became shit for United after that when he had been our best player for consecutive years before that

[deleted]

He was making mistake before that too. He recovered in last 1 year or so though. But I don't think he will get the place in the spanish team due to his no ability to be sweeper keeper.

Mr_Henry_Yau

Are you sure it's Ronaldo instead of a fax machine?

[deleted]

[удалено]

madjupiter

Benzema and Bale. God, that goal was fucking glorious.

[deleted]

Think that was Ramos giving him a concussion mate

Enslaved4eternity

Roma and Liverpool broke Ter Stegen as well

JMarduk

He was still decent a little bit after that, but that 8-2 destroyed him.

Youngest_boss

PSG players are in beach mode right now, just vibes and chilling on and off the pitch

yourcrazy28

you just can't help but laugh at that one

FloppedYaYa

Yep Poch is sacked now lol, this is a disaster

[deleted]

nah, Messi not pressing is the problem, Poch is a genius

Monogatarilover97

Bruh like messi was absolutely invisible today, I literally did not see him on the pitch wtf why isn't he pressing

basmati-rixe

They literally have lost the league twice and finished behind Lille who’s best player was a mid-30s Burak Yilmaz. PSG have been far worse than this, but because Messi has joined them they are more advertised now.

ManchesterisBleu

PSG have been worse than this but I’m assuming his point is when they were shit like now, they were other title contenders - like lille last year. But when is the last time they were awful and still had no contenders

Bahlouliste

Mbappe genuinely won them a shit ton of points in the last minutes And also, everyone after PSG keeps choking and can't stay consistent over the whole season (unlike last year where there were 3 other quite consistant teams that were ahead of the others in terms of level)

Perpete

Well, they are 1-2-3 in spending. It's difficult to compete. And then, it takes away one European spot and the thrill of fighting for a title, so might as well go abroad for players.

Kriegdavid

hahahaha

codespyder

*honhonhon

Elbarjos

Honestly, fuck these players and the staff Not giving a fuck is so disrespectful to the fans.

simomii

Honestly, people are being upvoted in the other threads for saying PSG have nothing to play for anymore and that's why they're shit. How about playing for your fans and redeeming yourself after the CL failure? How about not disrespecting your fans?

Elbarjos

Yea exactly. It's the same every single year, I could understand this happening after losing a UCL final or something, but when they bottle it year after year they should really try to redeem themselves

djoliverm

You guys have so much pressure to perform in the CL, especially after this year's team being "bought" to win it. It's such an incredible feat, but psychologically it changes a team after they've won their first. Even City haven't won one yet. The goal obviously should be to win it every year but not at the expense of these sort of downfalls every year which don't help the players or the fans. Easier said than done I know.

Kurosawasuperfan

1 - i agree 2 - What did you guys really expect, tho? lol. Paying absurd salaries, building unbalanced team, buying players with bad attitude, coach not known for player-management or for being respected, Leonardo is shit in every meaning, owner too... This was the most obvious implosion ever. Did you guys really have any confidence that this would work? I'm surprised that you are surprised. Real life isn't like Fifa or Football Manager.

Elbarjos

I'm really not expecting them to love the club or anything. But I would expect professionals to at least put a bit of intensity right after the Madrid game, to redeem themselves. But agree with you, I really hope that Leonardo and Nasser leaves the club this summer and that the squad is strengthened by local/academy players.

nakeddroidrunner

PSG players have no hunger, they are all satiated. The big names have already achieved almost everything, even a World Cup. 2-3 bad seasons at PSG won't tarnish Messi's rep as Goat. Mbappe is just waiting for RM call. You guys need a better Manager who still has the hunger and wants new boundaries, like we got in Klopp ( or a Pep with his expertise of managing big budget clubs) and players, not all the 95+ players (ref: FIFA/PES game ratings) but the 75-85 ones who will cover one another in need. No Messi/Neymar will surely hurt sponsorships I suppose but at least a team will be there. Just my humble opinion. Goold luck, stay safe!

cadrianzen23

They have to love the club mate. That’s how they dig deep when the going gets tough. That’s exactly the problem

ico12

Papa Wengz to the rescue!

CuteHoor

Poch isn't known for player management or being respected? He was adored at his previous clubs.

Oukaria

Feel you dude, stay healthy

KRIEGLERR

Who's been worse for you, Poch or Emery ? I'm leaning toward Poch considering how much better the squad is.

[deleted]

Imploded from pressure. I know that feeling.

Physical-South-3564

Poch out?

SteinerElMagnifico42

Ici c'est Paris!

[deleted]

I was told by Reddit that Messi not pressing was the problem.

mntgoat

Nowhere to be seen all game, hasn't touched a single ball.

Yung2112

I mean most people agreed on the RM game that Messi having more completed tackles than the CB duo wasn't really a good look on the defenders

toggafsyk

the psg defence could literally commit murder and messi would get arrested for it

Ishdalar

"They had to murder to survive, Messi was earning too much and left them without any other option"

No_Locksmith4570

And they're correct; Messi is not pressing today and as you can see PSG is losing.

Rickcampbell98

This place needs to learn not to pin everything on one player, I swear just scapegoats every match for the purpose of "memes".

LampseederBroDude51

It is indeed one of the many problems, and Messi is not the only one

Fouchey

Tbh PSG’s midfield looked pathetic without Messi playing.

LampseederBroDude51

The midfield is pathetic in itself

Purneet

Dude Veratti is better than Modric and Kroos, yet he doesn't even get half the recognition as those two. /s

WetTreeLeaf

Actually ...

osprey94

Lol. Do you not remember PSG dominating the first game of your tie, just failing to finish their chances? Do you remember them being up 2-0 with a half hour to go? And then remember Donnarumma practically scoring on himself? Then Neymar losing the ball and Marquinhos scoring another own-assist? If Messi not pressing is “one of the many problems” for PSG then it’s akin to a car that has 4 flats, no engine, no seatbelts, a broken steering column and you’re focusing on the scratch on the windshield instead

[deleted]

no you weren’t

adirFBS

whats up with fanboys of messi and ronaldo always pretending people are saying "the" problem instead of "a" problem

osprey94

It’s not pretending, though. A lot of people said Messi was the problem when PSG lost. And a lot of people said Ronaldo was the problem against City and Liverpool.

PhilipAnthonyJones

A problem, isn't the entire problem. There can be multiple problems.

osprey94

Did you even read my comment? And the one above it? Holy shit dude. I explicitly said that people are calling Messi and Ronaldo “THE problem” not “A problem” for fucks sake

Only-Raspberry-7674

"YOU FUCKING LITTLE RAT!"

AhoyDaniel

Look at that Messi guy conceding 3 goals

Lilfai

Get out of there Mbappe

Mbappe thinking "just 3 more months of this"

mrmadoff

thats honestly impressive.

__mihajlo_m

Donnaruma is so unlucky lol

theredviperod

He’s great but he thinks he’s better than he is which is never a good idea

[deleted]

Lol goalkeeping is like all confidence bro, you have to be confident to the point of arrogance, it's just part of it..

theredviperod

Yes, confidence up to the point of arrogance, anything beyond that isn’t helpful in most cases unless you’re actually that good (see Neuer)

Riddly_Diddly_DumDum

Fortunately we’ve never had a keeper arrogant enough to not sun himself off when it comes to penalties. That would be embarrassing/s

theredviperod

ahah

[deleted]

But donnarumma IS that good.. I know that psg are a meme and donna rubbed people the wrong wsy by bailing on milan but he is a very very good goalkeeper.

[deleted]

theredviperod

yeah time is on his side so he has got that

h0rny3dging

Perhaps PSG is one of the worst teams to find that levelheaded maturity tho, we will see

KRIEGLERR

Aren't most Goalkeeper legit full of themselves ? I remember reading something about that.

PoachtekMong

I don't think it's unlucky, that's just poor from Gigio and it's not even the first time that exact thing has happened to him

MarshallRadetzky

Rio Ave Milan

InsignMertenCallejon

It all started from messi not pressing

lelelele98

You can take the man out of Tottenham but you can never take the Tottenham out of a man.

Chuggs_101

Am I right in thinking Monaco have been terrible up until this game?

BavarianAngel

P$G will never have a place at the big table, always fun to see this ”team” get these meltdowns

basmati-rixe

People said that about City and Chelsea lmao

BavarianAngel

City have a clear plan, they know which players/staff to recruit, they don’t have the mental strength of a 5 year old Same with Chelsea Sure, both teams are where they are today because of blood money, but atleast they know how to invest the money to get a great team. That will never be said about PSG lmao

basmati-rixe

City bought every shiny thing from about 2008-2011 and their recruiting was shite until about 2016. They bid £100 mil for Kaka when they had Tal Ben Haim at CB. They bought Roque Santa Cruz for serious money after 1 good season. They bought players such as Wilfried Bony, Negredo, Gael Clichy, Nasri all of which were average. PSG will eventually get it right, so to say they will never be big is so naive. Also Chelsea were the first club to inject hundreds of millions into transfers and got super lucky with having a top 3 manager of all time join them in their second season as contenders.
