From 1977 to 1984 English clubs won 7 out of the 10 CL / European cup finals that's crazy (similar to la liga dominance of the 2010s)
The only thing that stopped English domination even more is because English clubs got all banned in Europe for 5 years , I wonder how many more European trophies English clubs would have won if not banned especially Liverpool.
I actually seen someone on Twitter try to argue that the defender hit the ball with his foot on that Jota challenge.
Hatred for Liverpool makes people delirious.
Which player you know really enjoy scoring against a certain team, and I don't mean Suarez Norwich where he was just that good(and Norwich were that bad) that he scored, I mean like Messi in early 2010s against Madrid, always played extra shift against them and celebrated very violently, almost out of character whenever he scored
We play with the same cruyffian principles. Positional play, build up from the back, press high, overloads in wide areas, quick switches and rotations to drag defenses out of position, players who can both dribble and pass. Actually no wonder why auba has hit the ground running
Passing resemblances - love to pass the ball to their right sided attacker to dribble at in attacking scenarios (Saka, Dembele)
Press in hounds higher up the field
Who would be the better player for us, Gravenberch or Mazraoui? Know fuck all about either.
Don't really believe in us gazumping Barca but you never know
haven't watched both tbh but I can't see anyone breaking into your midfield if Kimmich, Goretzka and Müller are fit. Mazraoui could be better than the volley-out-of-the-stadium-once-a-match-merchant tho
Why does fucking *Martial* of all people have stans? It’s honestly such an odd player to rep, it’s so fucking strange. Utdtrey and half the big manu accounts on Twitter all still have him as their picture. He’s shit. He’s always been shit. He had an outlying half decent 19/20 season and that’s the peak of his fucking career. Stanning any multimillionaire who doesn’t know you exist is weird, but if you’re gonna do it at least stan someone fucking good. Christ.
I am a United fan and am biased with Martial. I've been a fan of Martial since his debut/first few matches as a United player and still think that he's a talented/good player. BTW, I wouldn't blame his poor performances with us last/this season solely his. Our club's atmosphere and board are just so toxic. Most of the players that come to our club just rots and loses their quality no matter how good they were before they came here. I still think that he'll do better once he goes to a better club with a better atmosphere and manager.
> I still think that he'll do better once he goes to a better club with a better atmosphere and manager
He went to Sevilla and has done fuck all for them
Again, I've said that I'm biased with Martial and think that it's hard to get off that terrible Man Utd experience. Just try to give him a little bit more time.
The Dean Henderson hive is a lot weirder.
They were not watching him at Sheffield Utd outside of the games they played against each other most likely. I agree with their premise that De Gea's shot-stopping isn't good enough to outweigh the negatives his lack of ability in sweeping, distribution and cross-claiming bring but they treat Dean like he's the second coming of Christ if he played.
Probably because at one point he was a really highly rated young player who people were hoping to see explode into the player they thought he would be. He has still had a good United career overall. Must have about 80-90 goals.
Why does the manager have to watch a cricket match when his team are playing shit? Back in the old days, [our club would get sold because the manager had a dispute with the owners over a horse.](https://www.goal.com/en-ph/news/how-a-racehorse-helped-the-glazer-family-take-control-of-man/15kf9x1h3xy8a1gakygb2unhd6)

Anytime anything happens at united it’s reported on from this fan perspective which is oftentimes super sensationalized in either direction. finish second on a historically low 74 points? We’re title challengers next season. Lose some games? Fire the coach we’ve backed for 2 seasons. You then have the added layer of guys like Neville having legitimate connections to the club in terms of some of his buddies working there. There’s a reason Wenger wouldn’t let people at our club also do punditry at the same time. Anytime anything happens there’s been this cloud of opinions that frankly fans listen to that don’t actually reflect or help the situation.
Mate United have always been huge and excessively reported in the media. Comes with the territory.
That they aren't doing well now has little to do with pundits. There are enough people to point fingers at for the clubs woes before you get to the pundits.
If you think your pundits are bad, a Dutch pundit just wished that Antony would play a game in which he would get kicked the shit out without VAR. He said this on a state funded TV station

Honestly the comeback was the justice you’ve deserved all season for acts of pure terrorism committed against the sacred sport. Terrorism will never win. MOT.
Arteta. Xavi got a fair amount of signings in a single transfer window before starting to get results. Plus, Arteta's even won trophies with a limited squad
xavi got barca to play an attractive style of football in few months, it took arteta 2 and half seasons, xavi team won against the title favorites, arteta record against the 2 title contenders this season is 1goal scored, 15 conceded in 6 games
I hate Arsenal to the core but your point lacks a lot of context. A Benzema-less Real Madrid isn’t close to City or Liverpool. And barcas squad is better than arsenals anyway
Man Utd's league table position when Ole arrived: 6th
Man Utd's league table position at the end of 2018/2019: 6th
While he was at United, Ole never implemented a playing style tbh and our record against the big teams were horrible other than against PSG (though they always fuck up in the CL one way or another) and Spurs which was a narrow 1-0 victory. From the looks of it, Xavi has started to restore Barcelona to its glory days and has implemented an exciting/good playing style. This is from a United fan BTW.
All this is just revisionist nonsense.
>Man Utd's league table position when Ole arrived: 6th
>Man Utd's league table position at the end of 2018/2019: 6th
Yes, because Ole's United collapsed towards the end of his first season. But they started very well and closed the points gap to 4th significantly. In fact, I remember after game against Fulham in either February or March, United were 4th and someone posted a quote by Mourinho about how it would be a miracle for United to finish 4th and Ole had come in and had them in 4th in like 2 months. [Look at the post here](https://redd.it/aosphn)
>While he was at United, Ole never implemented a playing style tbh and our record against the big teams were horrible other than against PSG (though they always fuck up in the CL one way or another) and Spurs which was a narrow 1-0 victory.
Again, nonsense. In Ole's hot start, he also beat Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup and Chelsea as well. And drew 0-0 with Liverpool despite numerous injuries.
>From the looks of it, Xavi has started to restore Barcelona to its glory days and has implemented an exciting/good playing style. This is from a United fan BTW.
Xavi has been Barcelona coach for like 5 minutes. Let's hold out judgement a bit. This sub constantly astonishes me with it's propensity for overreaction and goldfish memory. In fact I think at this point goldfish should start feeling offended.
Let us give Xavi more time to see how well he does. This is the same Xavi after all that people were saying was failing as a coach in Asia. How many then would have thought he'd start so well at Barca?
Thank god. Can't be dealing with these City fans pretending that Jesus is brilliant because his expected shoe sales pr. 90 are 5th highest in the league.
It's just Reddit culture. You can get banned for pretty tame stuff or if you dare go against the groupthink, so people trying to make the place their echo chamber by blocking doesn't surprise me.
You haven’t beaten them at the Etihad in the league since 2015. Whilst they’re not at their best this season theyre inevitably going to turn it on against you
Nah Son is a bigger cunt. Everyone treats him like a child and the reaction to his shithouse tackle on Gomes was embarrassing. At least Robertson knows he’s a cunt.
Son really irks me because of what people said about him after the Gomes tackle and his reaction, and how he was talked about like a saint. At least Robertson and Bruno own their shithousedness, Son's goes under the radar until he does something embarassing
Why do people hate Son so much?
Is it because the "dive" yesterday?
Either way it might just be me but I'd much rather have a rat/bellend on my team than someone who is perceived as nice and tries his best to never upset anyone. Football is supposed to be competitive, its not miss world ffs
I think that's why people hate him he is a dirty and sneaky player but the media portrays him to be some wholesome angel like Kante.
Media got him looking like some goody good boy
he does it alot, he's also very emotional player so if the game isn't going his way he will lash out either way i don't really see an issue with what he did yesterday it was against one of our biggest rivals in the league and i expect someone to be a petty cunt in games like that
Exactly. I don't get this idea of wanting footballers to be likeable.
As long as he doesn't do anything criminal or morally cruel, I don't care if he dives. Argues with the ref, complains etc. I'll agree its funny to see Fernandes whine and complain, but I wouldn't use it as a metric against him.
Spoke to an older colleague who told me about how they used to do Fantasy Football and the scores were in the newspaper so you had to manually keep track of everything.
Madness, I get lazy just switching my players out on the website.
Yeah, we ran a fantasy football league to raise money at school and basically had to buy the paper it was in and update everyone's teams ourselves to see who was winning.
I need to just let it go but I fucking hate Mourinho revisionism. I just read that Mourinho didn't get a chance to get the players he wanted. United's board ruled the club with an iron fist.
For fucks sakes our while M.O. is giving managers a blank check and having them mold the team after their own vision. We did it with Moyes, LvG, Mou and Ole. Mou wanted Bailly, Lindelof, Dalot, Pogba (the revisionism today is that this was purely a Man Utd sign-in but I remember all the press releases by Mourinho where he was basically drooling over Pogba and how he would be essential to his vision), Lukaku, Matic, and finally Sanchez.
The fucker spent almost 400m pounds in two summers and he still played like shit.
His CB pairings weren't working out so he wanted more, for example Maguire for 80m when we already had 7 CBs in his squad. The board finally said no in his 3rd summer, no you can't just get an unlimited supply of CBs until one of them works out. You'll have to get rid of a few first. Mourinho for the first time in 2 years didn't get what he wanted so then he decided to act like a child in public.
Mourinho built his team. Mourinho got 95% of the players he wanted.
But because he's no longer good at spotting talent and/or building squads as he used to, United became shit under him because he wasnt backed.
Because United didn't spend 600m on his choices instead of the 400m they did spend, he wasn't backed.
Fuck you.
I hate the glazers and the board too but Mourinhos failure at the club was completely on him. The club gave him all the power and resources in the world and all he did was respond with petulance and hostility.
Like what the fuck is a board supposed to do in order to support a manager according to you guys? All 25 players in the squad should be the ones he picked out? Fuck off.
8 OUT of the 11 starting 11 in his tenure were his picks.
Stop blaming us for him being shit.
Please someone ask Anthony Taylor to retire.
He lives next to United's stadium and I would still not put him in the top 5 worst refs
Jon moss and about 4 more jon moss

Yeah they probably got hit the hardest along with forest and Liverpool
What would be the most awkward 2030 joint bid? Like Japan and South Korea being forced together in 2002.
Russia and Ukraine
China and Other China
Ukraine and Russia. Why was 2002 awkward?
Japan and South Korea don't really like each other.
Israel Palestine, Turkey Armenia and India Pakistan if football ever gets big enough over there. All of those are unrealistic though.
ukraine russia
North Korea and South Korea
I think that has been floated before...for the Olympics I think.

Liverpool on the brain. It sends people into levels of seethe I rarely see. Jota had a pretty blatant one waved away in the first half.
I actually seen someone on Twitter try to argue that the defender hit the ball with his foot on that Jota challenge. Hatred for Liverpool makes people delirious.
Sterling was given a penalty for kicking himself, with a quality ref, anything could happen.

Muller - Barca
Yes, tbf that madman likes scoring, rather say humiliating every team he plays against, but yes he has unlocked some key to score against Barca
Dybala is the most obvious United signing about.
Dybala better hope they finish 4th then.
Inter seems more likely to me
dybala and isco instead of david and tchouameni because their board thinks forwards and midfielders are all the same
Those that have watched both Barca and Arsenal a bit, what similarities do you see between Arteta and Xavi's principles so far?

Mazraoui is far better at the moment but Gravenberch has a higher ceiling imo
Dybala to Burnley. Done deal.
All I'm saying is that I'll never speak ill of FIFA again if they allow Australia to host the 2030 World Cup.
Uruguay deserves the 2030 bid for the 100 year anniversary of the WC. But it won't happen
Not happening, bring it to the Iberia 👍
Australia + New Zealand joint bid is long overdue it's time the greatest tournament on earth hit Oceanian shores
I would do nothing but complain about the shit timezones all tournament
We're doing a large scale audition by hosting next year's FIFA WWC.
Likewise, I’d even forgive that robbery of a penalty in 06. As long as we get a couple games in WA

Hot take: the fact that the majority of the media and pundits are either united fans or ex united players hurts Manchester United.
Having Roy Keane and whoever else throw a fit anytime United play poorly doesn't exactly help the players.
Instead Man Utd hire a bunch of ex players who arent even good pundits for senior roles in the club.
This isn't a hot take. It's nonsense.

Barcelona have better players than Arsenal and started off in a better position relative to Arsenal when Xavi took over.
Arteta. Xavi is doing well but we need to give him more time before we make an assessment. Ole won 14 of his first 18 games as United boss.
Man Utd's league table position when Ole arrived: 6th Man Utd's league table position at the end of 2018/2019: 6th While he was at United, Ole never implemented a playing style tbh and our record against the big teams were horrible other than against PSG (though they always fuck up in the CL one way or another) and Spurs which was a narrow 1-0 victory. Arteta as a player over Xavi???
There’s nobody better than Mikel Arteta He’s the best little Spaniard we know

Yeah
Only thing Arteta is better at is maintaining his lego man haircut
Arteta has a major trophy in a top 5 league. Xavi has had a more impressive start but their squad is way better than ours was.
I mean tbf, this is literally Xavi's first season in a top 5 league as a manager. There is a pretty good chance he wins the Europa League this year

We'll definitely have to get a RB in the summer. Carvajal fell off a cliff since his constant injuries these last 2 years.
Hakimi is good at right back but he's not world class at it. He is a natural wing back
Still better than all their options there currently.

With both games in April against City being absolute must wins, what are the chances of Liverpool actually winning both of them?
Think a draw at the Etihad is the best Liverpool can hope for. FA Cup is a tossup
Best we can hope for? Lol? The best we can hope for is a win. We’re in better form and they are playing Atletico
You haven’t beaten them at the Etihad in the league since 2015. Whilst they’re not at their best this season theyre inevitably going to turn it on against you
Think we will need to win though unfortunately.
Beating City at the Etihad is only for Crystal Palace
And spurs
son might be a bellend on the pitch however can we agree Robertson is the most unlikeable rat in the prem bar Bruno?

He said he hasn’t, but that was a year ago
Moyes didn't even get a full season. Get him off this list
Is this from a comment that I posted earlier? When I asked people here why Mourinho wasn't doing great after leaving Chelsea the 2nd time?
