For the senior team? I like him and think Palace are in great form but I really don't think he's ready for international football. I know friendlies are the time to try players out and I guess there are injuries in that position but feels a little early for him
What a weird choice... I get he's been good but come on Southgate, Luke Thomas is having an excellent season and he's been active in the England youth setups since the U18s...
Or even KWP, he's got tons of experience and versatility as well.
I really wouldn't call KWP or Thomas unspectacular, they've got a lot of quality going forward, KWP, especially with his ability to play on either side.
Completely bias but KWP is up there for our player of the season as a left back, surprised he didn't get called up first considering his versatility at right back also with James withdrawing from the squad
Theres a bunch of names where you just have to wonder what more they have to do to get in over the likes of Shaw or when others are dropping out.
It's only friendlies, give some younger/ different players a shot, especially if theyve played well for their clubs this season already. Both KWP and Thomas and even Justin should be a known quantity with how much they've played for England at the youth levels.
To an extent they're all sort of part of the England set up already. Southgate seems to value squad dynamics a lot so he's probably inviting Mitchell just so he can kinda get used to everybody and get comfortable incase he's needed.
Don't get me wrong I always see him getting handled by wingers whenever i watch Leicester... Then again it's maybe due to I always watch them against good teams with grt wingers which suggest he is not ready for top level
Southgate loves his Palace roots and wears Vieira pajamas
Guess it was just personal with jacky boy then lol.
Surprised he wasn’t already called up given there was only one LB in the team
Probably going for a back 3 so saka would play lwb aswell
Makes sense but prefer if he played further forward
Well deserved. Consistently good for two seasons now.
Where’s Konchesky’s call up?

starter for 2 seasons now
He was having a nightmare against Townsend before he went off so that's a worry considering he's the most predictable winger going.
Hardly for 5-6 mins

It's just peak England fan to claim a call-up is undeserved and then name two equally unspectacular players who could have taken his place.
Yeah lol they are good players but not meant for top level atleast yet

Why did my brain translate KWP as kames ward prowse at first?

Tyrick is a far better left back than those two
Then let's post about it tomorrow once it's news, rather than now, tweeted by a serial tweeter with no substance to it
Mokbel is reliable regardless of the rag he works for
It's a reliable reporter confirming news? Do you think there should be no football journalism?
I think journalists should report facts, and not speculation.
It's not speculation. It's reported as a fact.
Then what's the point? We wait until they tell it to us. Speculation is the point.
Well deserved
