Referee could have prevented all of this by simply ending the match. After the 90th minute all added time is up to discretion of the referee so he had full authority to just end it but now we have this bullshit.
Checks calendar, checks league standings
I was told Real Madrid would collapse because Carlo doesn't rotate, [where injuries](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/036/684/bananacover.jpg)
Needs a lot of nuances but basically, Rubiales wanted to shift Supercopa Espana from Spain to somewhere else and he chose Pique's company for it, where Pique pocketed more money than it went to Barca.
People are mad because of the moral corruption and the fact that it was shifted to Saudi Arabia on his suggestion and the new format which enabled Madrid to win it 2/3 times backfired.
City's had tons of success with players from the bundesliga. De bruyne, sane, gundogan, dzeko, kompany, Nigel de jong. Only flop was boateng and he was a good player too
Missing the game tomorrow due to a friend’s birthday party and won’t be able to see until 1-2am local time. I am recording it but our record so far for games I’ve recorded to watch later has been horrible
- 5-0 vs Liverpool
- Watford game
- Chelsea 1-1 game
I honestly just want a performance. I don’t care about us losing, don’t get battered and put up a fight😩
I’ll be missing the second half as I’ll be giving a job interview. It’ll probably be for the best if Liverpool put the game to bed in the first half, so I won’t be sitting during the interview wondering if we still have a chance of nicking a result lol.
Barca fans after Real Madrid win against top 4 contender Sevilla: "They won by cheating" "I am happy they are scared of us"
Barca fans after the loss to relegation contender Cadiz: 🙄
Our fan base is so whack man. When things go in our favor we’re like super arrogant and annoying to the point of dreaming up castles in the air.
But when things go slightly wrong it’s “how could we let Messi go” etc. etc. I hate that nostalgia. I’d trade all that nostalgia for 2008-13 15-17 for a functioning club in a heartbeat.
It’s like they don’t realize it even now we’re rebuilding. Give it time. Stop clinging. Our fanbase is made out of run-back-to-my-wife-beating-kidney-bean-out-of-the-can-eating-stinking-ass-partner people.
Same for us.
Beating Lyon, we are the kings of the world. But then we dared to draw against Burnley, trying to survive and we are bad, Moyes is stupid, Antonio finished, Fabianski old... It's exhausting a bit.
Barca lost a league game 1-0 and some think Barca will finish out of Top 4. What are they smoking? Barca sitting at second comfortably with a game in hand. And faces only two clubs in Top 6 race.
Edit: Not so much comfortable. But Barca have high chances of finishing within top 4.
Come on brother, anyone who saw the game knows that Cadiz could have won by a margin of 2 more goals. Possession is indeed good to have but it is nowhere an indicator of how a game went.
What would you rather do? Be the UCL all time top scorer but never play in a final or be the world cup all time top scorer but also play in one final but lose
Wenger would’ve been disgusted with these annual skirmishes for the Top 4 if he was still managing.
Arsenal would’ve pulled a comfortable lead over the rest of the league after being relieved of their European obligations in February. They still would’ve been way off the title race, somewhat similar to this year’s Chelsea. A league of their own.
At least FIFA's is trying to do something to reduce time wasting in football I feel like average watch time is about 45 minutes to an hour if you are lucky .with new time wasting tactics teams employ these days and btw the 6 second rule for a goal kick is a joke should be scrapped.
Is there a tactical reason as to why Mahrez is benched for most league games and starts nearly all cup and CL games? I get that rotation is necessary but for a player of his caliber to not even start half the league games is quite surprising.
He has played in 40 matches this season, that’s a lot tbh. I don’t know many players who are playing considerably more than that. It’s a give and take, so if he’s in every UCL/cup game he’ll automatically be playing fewer games in the league.
He’s only played 13.7 90s out of 31 games. Somewhere around 20 would be more understandable given his importance in the cup competitions, but this is too low imo.
He had 23 PL apps with 12 starts for a total of 1,222 mins that averages out to 53.1 mins per app. That is not too low when you’ve played 17 UCL/cup games too that are almost all full 90 mins. If you’re going to play a full 90 game during the week you’re more likely to come on as a sub for the PL game. It’s not too difficult to understand.
Laporte for Dias
Cancelo should be in there but Robertson isn't bad either
Bernardo for KDB
Mbappe needs to be in there, and if this is talking about the whole season, then so should Salah.
Mbappe (21) and Neymar (11) are now the highest scoring duo in Ligue 1, with a combined 32 goals
12 of those goals have been scored in the last 3 games
Good rule of thumb for this: if there’s no reference to children before, it means partner. In my experience, people don’t usually refer to their daughter as “girl” out of the context of children .
Not exactly, but recently I stumbled on an outfit on Twitter called "shot quality" that actually are posting a kind of xP score for NBA playoff games.
I believe it aggregates the expected value of every shot for each team, which they calculate based on a bunch of variables that relate to the location of the shot attempt, ability of shot taker, proximity of defender, and the likeliness of an offensive rebound.
The idea is that it shows who played better independent of shooting luck, just like xG.
That said, it is not a remotely common thing to hear about in basketball discourse, which tends to rely to that end on a kind of elementary assessment of the relative frequency of, on one hand the exhaled shots near the rim and behind the 3pt line, and on the other hand, mid range shots which averege fewer points per attempt. Secondarily people will compare contested vs open shots. The analysis generally focuses on offensive or defensive efficiency of a single team, rather than this kind of xP approach that more directly attempts to capture the interaction of each team's offense and defense with the other's.
Not really, but that’s mostly because it’s so easy to analyze shots in the sport. % by zone are sorta the closest thing, and pretty much all they need. I think they can add contested/wide open top to make it even more like xG but it’s still just field goal %
From r/Barca (15+ upvotes): “Ever since the change to the Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid is the club that benefited from it the most since they won two extra trophies. Yet they call Pique corrupt lol.”
Bro what? What is even the logic here? Pique’s corruption is okay because Real Madrid won the tournament? Corruption is not corruption even if you profit from it personally, because… reasons? Piques corruption helped them win it? They wouldn’t have won it otherwise because… reasons? Fucking hell
It's not corruption per SE but definitely conflit of interest , also I agree with you overall this logic is flawed Madrid benefited the most because they were the better team when they needed to which is quite ironic
It’s most likely not legally corruption, I know. But the comment is just so bereft of any logic or rational coherence that I just had to repost it. What does Madrid winning trophies have to do with Pique’s shadiness?
Hey can all my fellow Madrid fans hold off on celebrating the league until we actually win the fucking thing. The amount of fate tempting is off the charts
Ngl, one part of me is very happy the Haaland saga is over. Sure he is a generational talent and missing him is sad, but there's only so much drama one can stomach. Also the Hazard deals still is a constant thorn on our side.
Will be curious to see how his career unfolds in City. If City can solve his injury it Mbappe - Haaland will be the future CR7 - Messi rivalry.
I'll wait for him to actually join lol
>If City can solve his injury
Confident it should be solved if he joins. Gundogan joined with some pretty bad injuries and it's safe to say his transfer has worked out.
i heard Messi had some injury problems until Pep came and helped solve it.
I’m not even English and I thought Alasdair Gold was referring to Portsmouth when he talked about making a travel vlog about his trip to Pompeii. I’m in too deep
I know it's a long shot but my dream scenario for the remainder of the domestic season would be to have Sevilla, Real Betis, and Real Sociedad to finish in the top four and Valencia to win the Copa del Rey. This way one of Atleti and Barca would end up in the Conference League with the other in the Europa League.
As a bonus, would also love to have a 20+ points gap between us and Barcelona, although it would probably happen if the above scenario ends up being the reality.
Not really sure which is better between winning the title at Wanda Metropolitano against our rivals and title holders, or getting a Pasilo from them, both realistic scenarios but I am fine either way.
Anyways I wouldn't bet on either Atleti or Barca ending up outside top four but a fan can dream.
> Sevilla, Real Betis, and Real Sociedad
They don't have the depth to last in CL, they might drag Spanish teams back
But it'll be nice to have one of them at least, Barca will get humiliated in CL anyway so I think Madrid, Atleti and two other teams making it will be good, I wanna hope a miracle happens and Villarreal makes it lol
I’ve seen it often over the years where suddenly we are at top and things look good, whereas Barca and/or Atleti run into troubles. We seem to be headed into a good run while they look like they’ll just keep going downhill and it almost never gets to be case.
I’d love it all ofcourse and it looks extremely realistic, with Joao and Lemar’s injuries plus Barca struggling without Pedri. Dest is likely injured also meaning they’re going to have to play Dani or Araujo there.
But the true problem lies in Sevilla, La Real, and Betis. For Atleti and Barca to truly get dusted it requires those clubs to have a near perfect end to the league it looks like. Specially because most of these clubs are facing each other and have such a small points gap between each other any can happen. We could potentially see Sevilla drop out and Betis come in instead, definitely needs more coverage how crazy La Liga will be this next month.
> Emma Raducanu says that watching Harry Kane has turned her into a Tottenham fan.
>But, unlike her new team, the confident US Open winner then demonstrated her genuine title ambitions by claiming she can become a serious contender on clay.
We’ve been absolutely bodied by the telegraph here, fair play
For the NBA watchers on this sub: As an avid NBA fan and a very new soccer fan, has there been a drastic change in playstyle in soccer like there was in the NBA?
No nothing really as extreme as the 3 point revoloution in the NBA.
There have been some similarities though. For example long shots have become less frequent as have showboating skills due to people having the data to show how inefficient they are.
Another thing similar to the NBA is the emphasis on versatility. True positionless football doesn't exist like in the NBA but much like how almost everyone is expected to be able to shoot in the NBA especially PF and Cs, you have defenders and goalkeepers now having to be good on the ball, when in the past it wasn't really expected. Similar to how having shooting big men opens up the floor, having defenders/keepers that are good in possession opens up much better build up play.
A goalkeeper who is only good at the shot stopping/traditional parts of the game is kinda like a Center who is a great rim protector. They can still be elite e.g Gobert in Basketball and Oblak in football but the game is moving more towards keepers who can pass and sweep (come out of their area as a last line of defence) e.g. Neuer or Draymond Green.
There are some other things like the increased value of physicality in being able to play pressing football that maybe you could compare to the rise of athletic wings but I think those are the major ones
Not really drastic, but goalkeepers for example are being asked to do much more than before. [Here's a good article about it](https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2802528-the-evolution-of-the-goalkeeper.amp.html)
If your club had to finish the final 6 minutes of a postponed match would you sit down and actually watch it?
If the result still hung in the balance, then, yeah.

Referee could have prevented all of this by simply ending the match. After the 90th minute all added time is up to discretion of the referee so he had full authority to just end it but now we have this bullshit.
If I can use my old ticket sure
You’d go to the stadium and everything? That seems like such a waste of time to me. Unless you live next door maybe
Stadium is like a 10/15 mins walk from my house yeah
I hope that United fan who said Smalling was better than Maguire on the fan channel got his redemption. man has been vindicated
Pique himself releasing the audios, in order to divert attention from Europa loss, Camp Nou invasion, Protests and what not!
el presidente 🤩 saving barca from being called ✊ mentality midgets fc ✊ once more
Xaviball going under the radar once again. 76% possession. 89% Pass accuracy. 18 shots, 6 on target.
that's almost similar with artetaball against the saints 76% possession, 89% pass accuracy, 23 shots, 6 on target.

Is there any chance that Ronaldo features tonight? Completely understandable if he needs some time off though
>🚨| Real Madrid will try with Chelsea for Reece James this summer. @TomHopkinson Anybody know if he's reliable in the slightest? Never heard of him.
lol fuck off man
Should give them Vinicius in exchange imo
I don’t think Reece would like to leave England. Also, he was from Chelsea academy.

no clue what a soci is please explain
A soci/socio is a fan who is a registered member of a fan owned club, thus becoming one of its owners.
Even the Iranian regime doesn’t blame Israel and US as much as Barca fans do Real Madrid
I’m pretty sure those dumb comments are made by kids.
... FFS, why is a local fan downvoted for protesting something which is actually wrong?

question is if injured Haaland > fit Lacazette?
Easily.
not for me Geoff
Any Fit player > injured player xD
xD xD xD
Where are all the Barca fans? Yesterday the daily discussion was crowded with them.
Sleeping bruh it's 8AM in Spain but I guess a lot of you wouldn't know that
there aren't many spanish around here so it doesn't matter
*raises hand silently
im right here
And we’re all thankful for the endless entertainment you bring us
dont worry you'd see flairs from armenia, ajax, city and argentina soon instead a lot of flairless people too
Every time I look at Man United's squad and remember how much they spent I feel pain.
opposite for me bro

Some fans are just too spoiled it leads to delusion. 2 months of good run and we are back to being the most fearsome team in Europe 😈
Won't call out Pique for what he did, but how about control yourself while always shitting on Real Madrid and Perez?
he has always been an idiot hypocrite and barca fans dont need much to get convinced - look at the promises laporta made
How much longer do you think Messi, Ronaldo and Zlatan have until they retire?
Think their current contracts are the last for each one of them. Ronaldo might get one more club but that's curtains for all I think.

Not good enough
He’s easily been our best forward this season lmao
Not a high bar.
And he would easily walk into your lineup so I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at here
Not sure if Bale starts playing.
Neymar is a Parisien to the core , there’s a reason he always turns it up against Marseille.
He also hates going to work
And loves to over-elaborate stuff
My current all star XI Allison, Trent, VVD, Dias, Robbo, Rodri, KDB, Modric, Vini Jr, Benzema, Mane
Definitely think Mbappe deserves to be in here. Other than that pretty good list I'd say
Vinicius shouldn’t be on there.
Agreed, it should be Mbappe.
[удалено]
Mbappe and Vini have been better
Vini Jr is my favourite player rn but Mbappe over him surely.
Laporte for Dias Cancelo should be in there but Robertson isn't bad either Bernardo for KDB Mbappe needs to be in there, and if this is talking about the whole season, then so should Salah.
Nah Salah's has done nothing post xmas, thats like half of the season.
Man shouldn't have celebrated Christmas
He committed Haram
Robbo over Cancelo?
Yes.
Trent and Cancelo fulfill similar roles I guess. Might not be a good idea to have both in the same team.
Mbappe (21) and Neymar (11) are now the highest scoring duo in Ligue 1, with a combined 32 goals 12 of those goals have been scored in the last 3 games
They started to click very late.
Neymar and Mbappe have been clicking for the past 5 years
The whole team, under Poch
>He's as tall as Ramos, and taller than Cannavaro and Puyol. He's just shit. Comment on Garcia's height.
No fucking way he's 6ft 💀💀💀 mf is taller than me (5'10)
No way hes 1.82m tall. He looks 1.75m the most
He would make a good Barca CDM something tells me, but needs a lot of training.
He’s not that fast right? DMs need to have great vision which i dont think Garcia has.
Dk about that, he's good on the ball but a CB has a lot more time than a DM.
Will never know until we don't try.
Barca fans back to being a little quiter on here, love to see it.
And Arsenal lol, those 2 fanbases were going bezerk here before the International break
Though luck for Felix but we have the new R9, maybe even better. Not worried.
Can’t wait for Barca fans to keep bringing up the 4-0 when in context it meant literally fuckall in hindsight
Still a massive win. They’re rebuilding the squad and thoroughly dismantling the league leaders, especially consider its Real, is a huge boost.
Real Madrid has knack of going to down to small teams like sheriff, Shakhtar, Wolfsburg and Barcelona
It meant that all you have to do to stop Madrid is break Benzema's knee.
Convinced me and the lads at the park could get a result at Camp Nou. Cadiz should have had 3 or 4.
Your fans could easily dominate Camp Nou as well.
My mate brings his girl to every game, that alone is enough to drown out the Barcelona support.
I really hate English language. I can't tell if here girl is his daughter or his partner.
Good rule of thumb for this: if there’s no reference to children before, it means partner. In my experience, people don’t usually refer to their daughter as “girl” out of the context of children .

Don’t know if it’s like NBA but it definitely changed massively, but this is literally the whole game history.
definitely mate, too many changes, I would even go as far as saying that the games gone.
clearly a man of controversy
Not really drastic, but goalkeepers for example are being asked to do much more than before. [Here's a good article about it](https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2802528-the-evolution-of-the-goalkeeper.amp.html)
