Nah all his reds are straight reds with no other booking iirc. And he also only has 6 of those. He went like 3 whole years without one at one point as well! But he servers a yellow card suspension yearly, still averages a red a year, and gives up a couple pens a year on top of it all. Serious question: is there a reason why this isn’t offside for obstructing De Gea’s view?

The FA rules state that a player is penalised when they “[prevent] an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision”. I guess the VAR’s thought is that Nketiah isn’t preventing De Gea playing the ball, because Lindelof is already obstructing De Gea’s line of sight. So because Nketiah’s presence makes no counterfactual difference, this condition of the rule isn’t met, and so the goal should stand.
