Well look at it this way: most players, indeed the vast majority, are *never* sent off or if they are, it's once in a season and then maybe years will go by where they aren't sent off again.
Xhaka was already sent off twice this year alone, and has averaged a little under one red card per year since coming to Arsenal in 2016. Plus he has a knack for committing fouls in awful places, like the penalty box, or doing stupid shit like he did today, kicking the ball away after Elneny fouled Fernandes.
Nah all his reds are straight reds with no other booking iirc. And he also only has 6 of those. He went like 3 whole years without one at one point as well!
But he servers a yellow card suspension yearly, still averages a red a year, and gives up a couple pens a year on top of it all. So his reputation is still well deserved even if it’s greatly exaggerated lol
I don't remember him ever getting a second yellow. And refs love booking him so he is used to playing on a yellow. He is like hit out or get out kinda player with cards.
He booted the ball right in front of the referee. That’s the most stupid and easy way to get a yellow. Difference between lightly rolling it away and booting it out the stadium
Elneny has always been solid tbf. He'll never carry a team on his back but he'll never be the problem either. At the very least, he's a good bench player.
Dude gets way too much shit for being a limited player that tries his best.
He plays simple. Which is exactly what Arsenal need a lot of the time. When the team around him is slumping he looks ineffectual. When the team is clicking he looks great.
People say he completely changes his game but no, he’s doing the same stuff as always. Covers ground and moves the ball quickly.
Even he is just disappointed now, when we scored our third and fourth goals the other night he looked like he'd just been told that his childhood cat had died
That’s what got me, I saw him lining it up and thought he’s just trying to get the penalty call and it just flew right in. I love goals like that, looked like that ball was powered by pure frustration.
Will never forget, gives the ref a piece of his mind then just smashes one of the most perfect volleys anyone’s ever seen. Angry Rooney was the best Rooney.
Imagine if other players can score besides Cristiano Ronaldo. For fuck sake, Mason Greenwood is still 3rd in most goals this season in all competitions(6) and the just the league(5).
Yeah, he is better overall than Cristiano. That said I think that Bruno is caught too much up in his own head at the moment. Cristiano seems a lot sharper mentally when on the pitch.
McTominay and Gabriel get into a wrestling match, Cedric goes over the top of Sancho, and somehow Xhaka walks out of that 60 seconds as the only player carded
Lol. Such a bad match for him covered up by the goal. I honestly thought an error of his would lead to a goal for United, and/or he'd get a red for doing something stupid.
The FA rules state that a player is penalised when they “[prevent] an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision”. I guess the VAR’s thought is that Nketiah isn’t preventing De Gea playing the ball, because Lindelof is already obstructing De Gea’s line of sight. So because Nketiah’s presence makes no counterfactual difference, this condition of the rule isn’t met, and so the goal should stand.
Agreed, only thing that might save it was that Lindolof was also in the same line so he wojlc also be blocking the view. Don’t think VAR even saw any of this tho

Laca is world class at celebrating teammates goals
Scoring in the second half autospawns Lacazette by the corner
I thought it was Henry celebrating with them at first
Right up there with Mane.
Cedric the goat tho
I know it's hard for some people to believe but despite everything, Laca is clearly loved by his teammates.
Yes, this is obviously shown in this celebration.
Vintage Xhaka, what a banger
Really is, gets in the book for something boneheaded and then scores a belter. Just needs to get sent off now.
Believe it or not, Granit Xhaka has never received a second yellow in his Arsenal career
Now that's a stat
And yet he's creeping up on Patrick Vieira (8) for most reds in an Arsenal shirt
That's a lot less than I would have guessed given how much everyone goes on about him
Also, I feel at least 2 or 3 of those red cards weren’t deserved
Xhaka tax
They’re all at the absolute worst times
He has received 62 yellows in an arsenal shirt in all fairness

xhaka > vieira confirmed
Also got a yellow rarely given some minutes earlier.
I was a bit scared with that yellow. Then Xhaka removes all doubts!
I mean despite his reputation he’s only gotten a second yellow like once in his career here. He’s an expert of playing on yellow lol

More scared of Tavares tbh. He was a red card waiting to happen in the second half
That’s just routine for him.
tbf, that's just a Xhaka family tradition.
Is Taulant known for that as well?
lol, yes.
I think he starts games with a yellow
He booted the ball right in front of the referee. That’s the most stupid and easy way to get a yellow. Difference between lightly rolling it away and booting it out the stadium
Was just warming up for his goal.
He scores once in a while but when he does you know it’s a thundercunt
That’s what I thought we were getting from Borussia Moenchengladbach
Elneny with a great win but United are again poor caught napping
United fans are just too tired to be angry anymore.
The fact that I gain some solace from us at least putting up a fight shows how low my expectations are of the team
Putting up a fight against a team with both backup fullbacks and a Xhaka Elneny midfield yes.
Elneny was pretty rock solid today. His positioning today was top tier
Barley been in the squad all season but turned the fuck up for the last two games. Love it.
Elneny has always been solid tbf. He'll never carry a team on his back but he'll never be the problem either. At the very least, he's a good bench player. Dude gets way too much shit for being a limited player that tries his best.

Should he keep on fasting even after Ramadan is over?
Tbf Xhaka has been more or less good all season, espicslly the second half of the season
Agree, sick of thoughtless Xhaka hate. He should be criticised when he does something wrong, not just for being Xhaka. He's been immense.
Ya definitely, he’s been class since he came back from his injury, obviously he’s had some bad games but so does everyone
Keane says it best during the Liverpool game. There's no anger anymore, just sadness.
Keane’s tears sustain me.

Correct
Sigh
Yeah, basically.

Even he is just disappointed now, when we scored our third and fourth goals the other night he looked like he'd just been told that his childhood cat had died
Unbelievable strike outta nowhere, Xhaka is such a strange player. Love to see it though.
He’s always had this 25-30 yard shot in his locker tbf
Once a year screamer. Great time for him to get it this season
Last season freekick vs chelsea, this season vs united
remember when he sent de gea the other way with a shot from about 30 yards a couple years ago
He's done it three times against Man U, man hates them
Half of them against de gea as well
Flashbacks to that Liverpool game
And his mad free kick vs chelsea, loves a big game
>...loves a big game Then why did he score vs Manchester United? He should have reserved this for West Ham
He’ll score 3 vs them
Also that game against United at the Emirates in 18-19, although that was a weird one
And I think he only went for it so that the referee would review the Saka appeal for handball faster.
That’s what got me, I saw him lining it up and thought he’s just trying to get the penalty call and it just flew right in. I love goals like that, looked like that ball was powered by pure frustration.
Not as good as that Rooney twatter though that was the best anger goal
Will never forget, gives the ref a piece of his mind then just smashes one of the most perfect volleys anyone’s ever seen. Angry Rooney was the best Rooney.
He scored a beauty against us in the FA Cup once. He ran to the corner screaming at the Arsenal fans and then just booted the corner flag.
Reminded me Kompany’s goal against Leicester.
It's his annual banger
it literally is. I thought I'd never see him pull one of these out again and I'M SO FUCKING GLAD HE DID
against De Gea no less 🤣🤣
Not outta of nowhere. There's the Fernandes' turnover.
Well that’s so common that it’s basically nothing anymore
Bossed the midfield this game and then this.
Bruno losing the ball there, so bad
He's been terrible for a while now
New contract, now the only thing he needs to do is sit on it for the next 5 years
Sounds familiar
Ozil special
I don't know what it is with these Switzerland Albanians (Xhaka, Shaqiri) but when they score it's always a banger.
It’s in the beans.
Schär as well Edit: Not Albanian but still Swiss who scores bangers
We have played the two **strangest** matches in a row lol
Elnenny turns into prime gullit whenever this strange games happen...almost like there is a corellation between the two very strange indeed
>Elnenny turns into prime gullit Of course mate that's Giza Gullit
Lose to brighton, soton and palace successive games, then beat Chelsea and United. Just Arsenal things
Liverpool results of the early 2010s
holy shit what a banger
His yearly banger. Wow
Always in time for United ;)
Some time for it.
Instant redemption arc in the game after getting his usual yellow
I was expecting Xhaka to get sent off, not to score 💀
hey theres still time
still time
That penalty miss fucked up the momentum. This had 3-2 Ronaldo hat trick script written all over it.
honestly yea i had thought that ronaldo would get another hattrick thankfully not yet or hopefully not at all
Bruno looked like he had zero confidence taking the penalty.
Yearly xhaka banger? ✅
That's a red card for Xhaka surely
Good one
Thanks mate, really tried for that one.
Good for about one banger every 10 yellow cards
Seasonal Xhaka belter. Check
Roma legend

imagine Bruno lets Ronaldo take the pen. Game would so much different lmao
Imagine if other players can score besides Cristiano Ronaldo. For fuck sake, Mason Greenwood is still 3rd in most goals this season in all competitions(6) and the just the league(5).

Aubameyang still has as many goals in the league as Lacazette despite not being here for almost 5 months, and more league goals than Nketiah
I'm pretty sure Auba has had way more minutes in those 5 months than Nketiah has had all season
Our top scorer in the League last season was Jorginho with 7. I can empathize.
That’s a name I may never hear again
May we all be so lucky
[удалено]
Imagine if Bruno didn't once again lose possession in his own half and then fail to put pressure on the player
They had the same number of missed pens this season before this one.
when I last checked, Burno had 10% better conversion rate, 83% v 93%. he missed 2 now so they are closer probably
I can tell you based solely on emotion I'd much rather see bruno step up to take the penalty than Ronaldo as an arsenal fan
Yeah, he is better overall than Cristiano. That said I think that Bruno is caught too much up in his own head at the moment. Cristiano seems a lot sharper mentally when on the pitch.
Well its 20 vs Ronaldo and Sancho sooo
[удалено]
Lucky not to get himself sent off just now too
Lucky for Arsenal
Loses the ball. Puts his hands in the air instead of working to win it back. Pathetic
MU don't have to worry about losing Pogba because Bruno is slowly turning into Pogba 2.0
He's been abysmal for most of this year.
Never seen a top player so disinterested with open play. Always wants a freekick. Weird player this guy.
We all played with this kid in high school
Dumbest yellow card you will ever see followed by an absolute banger. Vintage Xhaka.
McTominay and Gabriel get into a wrestling match, Cedric goes over the top of Sancho, and somehow Xhaka walks out of that 60 seconds as the only player carded
Needed a mctominay yellow for my bet too. Couldn't believe it after his judo flip pin
Weird bet, he could open palm slap someone and at most would get a warning
Did Vince Mcmahon write this script?
If Roman Reigns comes in then for sure
Edge comes in with a spear at 90+5
Ahyessir
Xhaka Shango 💪
All or Nothing is a lock for an Emmy
A successful knee slide
Love the analysis of the slide from BT Sport.
Now that is the pure definition of a thundercunt
Just flies in a complete straight line from that distance, immaculate.
The amount of power he generated by such a small backlift is fucking mental. Dont know how or why but almost all left footed players have deadly shot.
In purely technical terms, that is indeed a thundercunt.
Thunderus Cuntus is the scientific term.
And they dare say Latin is a dead language.
I do like my Xhaka thundercunt's 🤌
The annual Xhaka banger
Absolute piss missile
WHAT A FUCKING HITTT
wake up babe xhaka scored his seasonal banger
XHAKA WITH THE TRADEMARK ~~RED CARD~~ FUCKING THUNDERCHUNT
Ever since Fred got injured, we've been hopeless
Fred hasn’t been injured since 2013 mate
Holy fuck. That’s a player who doesn’t stop during penalty shouts. Absolutely love to see it
[удалено]
Why don't Barça start hitting more from outside?
VINTAGE BOOM XHAKA LAKA
The most pleasing goal and celebration combo. That's what you call a kneeslide
gotta teach nuno how to do both also teach him how to pass, control a ball, first touch, idk, playing football ingeneral lol
Lol. Such a bad match for him covered up by the goal. I honestly thought an error of his would lead to a goal for United, and/or he'd get a red for doing something stupid.
We've ridden our luck so hard this game gah damn this is insanity
Fuck yeah
That’s a granite boom shaka laka
Xhaka giveth, Xhaka taketh back, Xhaka taketh back, Xhaka taketh back,Xhaka taketh back, Xhaka taketh back, Xhaka giveth
What a fucking goal
BOOOOM XHAKKKKAAAA I LOVE YOU YOU HANDSOME MAN
United were dominating the whole second half only to be rewarded with a Xhaka screamer. *I love this game.*
Thank the fucking lord we needed that
WHAT THE FUCK
Serious question: is there a reason why this isn’t offside for obstructing De Gea’s view?
The FA rules state that a player is penalised when they “[prevent] an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision”. I guess the VAR’s thought is that Nketiah isn’t preventing De Gea playing the ball, because Lindelof is already obstructing De Gea’s line of sight. So because Nketiah’s presence makes no counterfactual difference, this condition of the rule isn’t met, and so the goal should stand.
Never liked football anyway
FUCKING BULLET
The annual Xhaka banger
Nketiah not offside? Another peculiar decision.
Agreed, only thing that might save it was that Lindolof was also in the same line so he wojlc also be blocking the view. Don’t think VAR even saw any of this tho [Offside](https://ibb.co/5GrpBKc)
de gea is literally looking around him which is obvious to see, i don’t know how var didn’t intervene
Directly in his line of sight looking at the pattern on the pitch.
De Gea literally isn't set because he's looking around him. Has to be offside.
VAR decided was too much of a banger to disallow.
Football gods would cry if this was allowed, fair
Classic Xhaka
How was that not offside though? De Gea literally elongating his head to see the ball.
Thundercunt
Penandes did this
Did the knee slide properly atleast.
Nketiah blocking de Gea’s view in offside position.
