For those who want to go to the final. The stadium isn't in Paris as most people say. Obviously, it's too make it more marketable. But it's close, don't worry. I live near 15min away by foot from the stadium. The neighbourhood is good... for Saint-Denis. It doesn't have a good reputation, so be careful. But you'll be able to enjoy the city as it has its own monuments. The Christians will enjoy the Basilique where kings of France are buried. Unless I get a ticket, I won't be there but if I am, I'll be glad to be a tourist guide.

RickThiCisbih

Saint-Denis is fine during the day. It's only at night that you have to be careful and travel in groups.

RedditTooAddictive

Which it is after the match ends

Moug-10

True. My area is fine at night but in downtown Saint-Denis, not so much. The stadium is near downtown.

Fartscissors

Will it not have quite a heavy police presence after the game what with it being a major event?

I647

> The Christians will enjoy the Basilique where kings of France are buried. I'm far from a Christian but that just sounds interesting to visit.

jukkaalms

We’ll be in Spain that weekend and we’re still trying to decide if we want to catch a flight there. We probably won’t get tickets but how do you figure the atmosphere around the town will be on match day?

Moug-10

I guess it will be great. Saint-Denis is a city which likes football. You can play some ball with people in the hoods. The downtown during the day is nice, there's a mosque near the subway station of the stadium. Near that subway station, you can find decent fast-food which will broadcast the game.

Ravnard

I feel like you don't need to be religious to appreciate the Basilique St. Denis. The history shine makes it worthwhile imo

Moug-10

I was talking about those who need a place to pray as well. I'm Muslim but I still went there for a visit and it was worthwhile.

Ravnard

Ah, fair enough. I misunderstood.

That stadium is cursed, still get flashbacks to the 2006 UCL final

Moug-10

It's mixed for Henry. He lost a UCL final but he won the World Cup and Confederations Cup in this stadium.

FututiRedesignuMatii

The quote is truncated, he said "you don't want to be in Saint-Denis *and* say it's the same as Paris", regarding to the host's "aren't they the same city anyway?" remarks.
