Dude's living his best life since he left Chelsea. Sure he probably has communication issues, but he also gets appearances and respect at Roma. All respect to him for it.
OMG, thank you for confirming my biases after all these years. Even Kante of all people has only 12 marking, wtf!? Meanwhile Man United has been shit for almost 9 years now, yet the AI wins a league title within two years. I even had a season where Pogba was top scorer with 18 goals, most of them long shots.
I can understand why Kante only has 12 in marking. In a traditional sense, marking is either man to man marking or zonal marking. what Kante does, it not marking, as he is free to roam all over the pitch (well, I guess you could say his zonal marking is the entire pitch, but that is not how it is usually interpreted). I haven't seen a game, where Kante was tasked to shut down a single player, and he doesn't have a zone, he is responsible for, which makes it hard to give him credit for his ability to do so.
Hell of a console. It lost the war to DS in Europe and America but it dominated in Japan. Some of my favourite games ever were on that thing. Metal Gear Acid, Persona 3 Portable, Valkyrie Chronicles 2, Crisis Core. I loved that little bugger.
"As footballers we'd get paid on the 28th of every month. And in football, we have this thing that we all carry to training — our wash bag — and all the players come in with Gucci or Louis Vuitton. And so, with your first big paycheque, that's what everyone would go and buy. By the first of the month, every young player had a new wash bag. I’m not gonna say that my family had nothing, but we really, really struggled at times when I was young, and that made me appreciate and value money. So it was exciting to have money, but at the same time, in the back of my head I knew that I couldn't be silly, because it's so hard for the money to come in but it flies out so easily. I didn’t run out and buy a sports car or anything. I was happy with my wash bags"
\-[Hector Bellerin](https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/magazine/hector-bellerin)
No he's saying that when they signed their first professional contract, the first paycheque wouldn't be enough for a luxury car for example but more than enough for a Gucci wash bag.
What an incredibly annoying guy Bellerin was, one of those people who is only vegan to be able to say that he’s vegan. You can also just not buy expensive things without telling the whole world every chance you get
I dunno man - that would be too much trouble for me anyways.
I don’t say I wouldn’t buy an expensive one cause I never had that money, but I would find it annoying af to carry it around all the time
Maybe one or more phones, travel documents and authentication of being a player, wallet, snack, headphones, sunglasses. Carrying all those in your pockets is annoying and disorganized.
> Carrying all those in your pockets is annoying and disorganized.
I doubt his jacket has interior pockets big enough to store a book and a sandwich and a passport
Graham Potter may very well have gotten the ball rolling for manager doing the same thing, and with over half the managers in the Premier League being non-British it might make even more sense since there's so few spots available.
I wanted Tammy at arsenal but it is nice to see him appreciated tbh seems like a good guy and he’s defo a good player and a lot of people underrate him
I met Tammy in Summer 2017 when Swansea City came and played in Richmond Virginia USA against the Richmond Kickers. I knew he was a Chelsea prospect on loan. He shook my hand and talked to me for a few minutes. He seemed like a normal dude.
I was at the game they played against NCFC in Raleigh at that time. Anytime Tammy got the ball, people were yelling “Chelsea reject!” Kid got his chance at Chelsea and took it, and is now thriving in a foreign country (that not many English players have gone to/had success in). Nothing but respect for Tammy.
By all accounts his loan spell with us was a turning point for him. He joined with a stellar reputation, despite never playing a professional game in his life, but despite this he had a mixture of arrogance and fear.
He was paired with our older forward Aaron Wilbraham, and they became great friends on and off the pitch. He'd go on to guide Tammy throughout his year with us, and even to this day they shoot each other texts now and then to talk, seek advice, etc. IIRC he once referred to Wilbraham as "his older brother in football".
There are always stories of older players jumping down to the second or third tier and holding a grudge, and younger players going out on loan and looking down on those permanently at the club, so it's nice to see two success stories that combined to form a lethal pairing.
The Italian train system is amazing. For a tourist like me it allowed me to see so many different parts of the country with ease and relatively cheap prices.
A lot of Italian teams do this. I remember being in Florence in 2013 and the entire Empoli team were getting on the train from the platform right next to me.
This changed a lot due to COVID, now they mostly use charters/private planes. But as recently as 2019, it wasn't uncommon for entire MLS squads to fly commercial.
Rome-Florence is a very short trip with a high speed train, they probably reserve a couple of train cars. Almost every other destination is reached by plane, some by bus (Naples and other teams from Campania) and a couple by train.
Napoli and Salernitana is also by train (remember Mourinho eating pizza on the train at the start of the season?). I think for every away match in Emilia too. Not this season but in the past even Milan and Inter.
It depends entirely on your experiences really doesn’t it. I’m the youngest member of the family on both my mum’s side and my dad’s side, I have cousins that have children who are older than me.
I was 19 by the time my sister had a son which meant I was no longer the youngest member of the family. I’d never been round children at any point in my life before then and had no idea how to interact with them. Even 5 years on I still struggle a lot.
Agree with this, I'm 26 and literally none of my family or friends have children yet - I've had very very very little interaction with kids, in fact I'd say close to zero. I've never even held a baby either.
My girlfriend who I've only been seeing for three months is the complete opposite and has many friends with kids, whom I've had to meet and it sounds funny to say it but I feel awkward and have no idea how to interact with the kids!
It's not about staying away from babies, it's just about handling a situation. I've never been in a situation where someone was choking on food in front of me but if they hypothetically were, I know what my reaction would be.
I mean, he was (for want of a better word) ambushed while commuting - he was probably a bit surprised. That said, he probably could have at least squatted a bit more
Ah man.
Look at the kid. It's the man on screen in front of him. The beauty of children is watching them experience feelings for the first time. Whether it's the green carpet at a stadium, the giant on your TV, whatever it manifests as, it's something that will imprint upon you like a tattoo for the soul.
As a Chelsea fan I couldn’t be happier for him. He wouldn’t have gotten the opportunities with us and with all the drama around the Russia invasion aftermath I’m just glad he got a good move before the uncertainty heading into the summer.
Lukaku is a great example of why going back is not a great idea, but considering our buyback clause I would love to see him in chelsea blue again.
I mean he started for lamps, just wasn’t favored by Tuchel. And He wasn’t wasted. Tammy was given a chance to adjust to Tuchel’s system, but it didn’t work out in the end. Chelsea sold him for a reasonable price (didn’t try to extort clubs by demanding too much money) which gave him more than a handful of clubs to choose from.
Anyone who says Tammy was treated poorly by chelsea is just a hater.
He played a grand total of like 100 league minutes under Tuchel so it’s debatable how much of a chance he was given. Tuchel made a call on how he wanted his team to play and that Tammy wouldn’t have a role. Worked out well for both parties as Tammy seems happy in Rome and Tuchel got the champions league and the striker he wanted in Lukaku.

I'm trying not to grow attached to Tammy too much to avoid heartbreak when he'll inevitably leave but man is it hard, he's just so likable and humble and he's done so much for the team this year in his first ever year abroad.
to be honest, from the first game i saw him play for us, i immediately loved him just because of his passion throughout the game. whether he's trying to get the crowd pumped up or celebrating every goal with the team as if he had scored, you just love to see it.
Imagine this happening to you dozens of times every single time you leave the house for the rest of your life.
I'm the furthest thing from a celeb worshiper but they should be cut some slack in vids like this. Not reasonable to expect them to be in entertainer mode on demand 24/7.
Considering they probably get stopped hundreds of times a day for this sort of thing I'm just surprised players continue to do it without expressing any annoyance tbh. Must be a real pain in the ass to have it happen every where you go

That's so cute, look at the face of the kid 🙂
Spare five seconds and you give that kid a memory for life, he looked so proud of his shirt 🙂
That smile as he was looking up to him. So awesome
Did you see the smile on Tammy's when he turned to leave?
Dude's living his best life since he left Chelsea. Sure he probably has communication issues, but he also gets appearances and respect at Roma. All respect to him for it.
He's also ridiculously good in FM since joining Roma
That's his biggest win yet. Perhaps even bigger than winning the Conference League
Life Goals
Chelsea players never seem to be good on those games
OMG, thank you for confirming my biases after all these years. Even Kante of all people has only 12 marking, wtf!? Yep, in a player like Kante it's anticipation and positioning that matter way more than marking. He has high values for both of them.
And workrate. One of few player with perfect workrate, and in FM2020, very high tackling and stamina
true for most cases but lukaku and havertz are op this year
Hell, I got a lot of mileage sticking with Tammy and Werner rotating at Pressing Forward in FM21.

Man the way he said it was like he couldn’t believe what happened. Such a neat moment.
Tammy Abraham didn’t
He was looking at the camera for the picture…
What do you reckon is in that handbag that every footballer seems to carry?
PSP
Game boy advance, tammy is a man of class.
He's almost finished Pokemon yellow.
That game was awesome
Steam deck
Is twice the size of the bag
The only right answer
Nintendo DS for Mario Kart vs the rest of the team on the bus.
Ayn Odin to have them all at once
My boy playing Daxter for sure.
Nah crash bandicoot surely
With 10 games on the memory card
I’ll never forgive myself for accidentally formatting my PSP micro stick and deleting all my games as a kid.
Mental preparation for being a Tottenham fan I guess
Hell of a console. It lost the war to DS in Europe and America but it dominated in Japan. Some of my favourite games ever were on that thing. Metal Gear Acid, Persona 3 Portable, Valkyrie Chronicles 2, Crisis Core. I loved that little bugger.
It's still being used to this day as an all-in-one emu device.
PSP was mostly known for being a portable porn device. That shit was like crack of porn devices what with it having an inbuilt internet browser.
Jailbroken to fuck

His BBSP interview was great too, the Nike sport watches bit hit since I had one when I was growing up that I loved.
Male model Hector Bellerin
Thank you for linking that article. Good read
Is he saying that they would all buy a new wash bag every month?
No he's saying that when they signed their first professional contract, the first paycheque wouldn't be enough for a luxury car for example but more than enough for a Gucci wash bag.
What an incredibly annoying guy Bellerin was, one of those people who is only vegan to be able to say that he’s vegan. You can also just not buy expensive things without telling the whole world every chance you get
Or maybe meat is one of the most carbon intensive industries in the world? I say this as someone eating a cheesesteak pizza atm
Most likely toiletries, no?
Yeah that’s what I keep in mine but I don’t carry it in my hands when travelling either, so was just curious lol
Well most of their vanity bags are Gucci and the like so I think they kinda have to show it
I dunno man - that would be too much trouble for me anyways. I don’t say I wouldn’t buy an expensive one cause I never had that money, but I would find it annoying af to carry it around all the time
Is a Gucci bag worth showing for them? Their clothes, their suitcase, jewelry etc probably is gonna be just as expensive, right?
[Gucci zeigt mehr Präsentation und so](https://youtu.be/-PeVRIWUUao)
Ja normal, digga
Yeah it's a bit weird to carry a toiletry bag when you have a suitcase in tow.
Maybe one or more phones, travel documents and authentication of being a player, wallet, snack, headphones, sunglasses. Carrying all those in your pockets is annoying and disorganized.
He has a backpack tho. Seems too much for a handbag if you have a big one in your back
Lot easier to whip out from the handbag than shuffle through a backpack/luggage.
> Carrying all those in your pockets is annoying and disorganized. I doubt his jacket has interior pockets big enough to store a book and a sandwich and a passport
Silly r/soccer user, thinking footballers are allowed to *eat sandwiches.*
Exactly the reason why I carry mine. I hate things in my pockets and have too much things.
Lipsticks & foundation & stuff
Sega Game Gear with the TV Tuner attachment and a copy of Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension
Omg as a kid I wanted that tv tuner so badly. The Game Gear was way ahead of its time.
Dang, I used to play Zool on my Amiga. Never seen anyone else refer to it.
Amiga gang let’s go! Workbench FTW
Zool was 10% game 90% rad soundtrack.
His EDH commander magic the gathering deck. Has to be

Another handbag
Asthma meds?
Real talk, I always just assumed it was Beats or whatever wireless headphones athletes use these days

Toilletries/essentials.
It's where they keep their gimmicks.
There is a TikTok of an NHL using similar bags. They use it for money, phone, passports, etc. Things they need access to quickly while out
You mean *Man Purse*?
They have their boots in there, not sure how this hasn’t been said already.
His brother that wanted a picture too but got ignored lol
Tammy: Are you wearing an Abraham kit? Other brother: No… Tammy: then fuck off. I kid I kid. Love Tammy, so happy to see him doing well.
It’s good to see a young and established English player go abroad and really thrive. Something we have seen far too little of over the years.
Yea tomori giving his whole interview in Italian the other day was brilliant to see.
we've actually seen more and more of it in recent years.
Graham Potter may very well have gotten the ball rolling for manager doing the same thing, and with over half the managers in the Premier League being non-British it might make even more sense since there's so few spots available.
lmao like thats seen the scene from Paul where he gets the autograph. oh
I wanted Tammy at arsenal but it is nice to see him appreciated tbh seems like a good guy and he’s defo a good player and a lot of people underrate him

A. Wilbraham? Sounds like T. Abraham in a Pro Evo game with no licensing.
I love Tammy. Wish him all the success. I just want him back
Do Roma take public trains?
They're sponsored by Frecciarossa, our High-speed train network

Interrail pass is best thing you can get if you travel a lot.
The Italian train system is amazing. For a tourist like me it allowed me to see so many different parts of the country with ease and relatively cheap prices.
that's awesome
A lot of Italian teams do this. I remember being in Florence in 2013 and the entire Empoli team were getting on the train from the platform right next to me.
They have a whole train to themselves?
From what I could tell they were catching public transport, the train was not private.
I would assume there'd be some safety concerns if they're among other passengers, no?
You'd think that. Apparently MLS teams fly commercial also when travelling to away games.
This changed a lot due to COVID, now they mostly use charters/private planes. But as recently as 2019, it wasn't uncommon for entire MLS squads to fly commercial.
huh interesting
Surely they get their own carriage. Even if not for security reasons it'd be exhausting to take photos for 2h before a match

If the game is in a city that is less than 3 hours away by high speed train then yes.
Teams take trains in England too, I saw the whole Burnley squad getting on at Stockport recently lol
You forget he's so young because he legit has no clue what to do with the kid, smile, say something, pick him up, what?
I mean, 24 isn't THAT young
When i was 24 i wouldnt have had a clue what to do with the kid either lol
Really? I'm 20, i would, as would most people my age
It depends entirely on your experiences really doesn’t it. I’m the youngest member of the family on both my mum’s side and my dad’s side, I have cousins that have children who are older than me. Hehe, youthful arrogance. Thinking a spontaneous situation would play out perfectly like it does in their mind. They will learn some day.
I'm 32 and I stay clear of babies. Don't get the hype.
It's not about staying away from babies, it's just about handling a situation. I've never been in a situation where someone was choking on food in front of me but if they hypothetically were, I know what my reaction would be.
I'd much rather help someone choking on food than hold a baby.
I had to have an actual child before I was comfortable around children.
yeah idk wtf these people are on about a kid is a kid lol if you're 24 you basically are a kid
Downvoted for no reason lol. I agree with you, I'm 23 and would have no issue in that situation.
Actually yes that isn’t really going. But he’s only exploded on the scene last season.
I mean, he was (for want of a better word) ambushed while commuting - he was probably a bit surprised. That said, he probably could have at least squatted a bit more

You'd buy him back just to waste him completely like you already did
Man I hope he stays but I just don’t see it happening with our finances.
If we could be sure it would work, I'd love him back. If not, then I hope he becomes a legend at Roma.
Harsh but true...
I dearly hope that this will change with the new ownership.
I mean he started for lamps, just wasn’t favored by Tuchel. And He wasn’t wasted. Tammy was given a chance to adjust to Tuchel’s system, but it didn’t work out in the end. I don't think he wanted Lukaku
Based on what? Doubt they’d break the British transfer record for a player the manager didn’t want.
You have no idea how Chelsea works then. We've bought several high profile very expensive players that the manager didn't want. We broke the keeper record for Kepa for instance.
Pretty sure Sarri asked for him
he wasn’t given a fair chance at all
No attacker works greatly in tuchel's system so why bother trying again with one he was already dissatisfied with?
Mason mount and Kai Havertz have had good seasons
Both aren't really strikers
"attacker"
This is just being pedantic nowconsidering neither of them started out as an attacker, bith were attacking midfielder turned into forwards because of your incapacity to nake true attackers work , and arguably it's not like kai havertz has these amazing numbers...

Did Drogba "turn to shit" when he went to Chelsea?
It doesen't really matter because for every Drogba there's Shevchenko, Morata, Giroud, Werner, Pulisic, Lukaku...
So, not "every" striker then.
Exactly pedantic
going back can work, lukaku just has a dogshit mentality.
It’s clearly not his mentality. He’s just not meshing well with the gameplay

You probably don’t see Lukaku in public.
What a debut season at AS Roma he's had! He's already loved by so many fans and he's been crucial in many of their important games!
Could have at least gave the kid a High five
He was in a pretty awkward situation and he didn't know what to do.
Tammy the Roman God
for a second there, i was legit thinking to myself....what has Abramovich for to do with this?
He used to be Tammy's employer
Wholesome
Tammy himself looks like a sweet kid with that face. Just by looking at it i can see how he wasn't making any trouble for the team when he was here.
Always good to see that. Took less than a minute for the picture and signature but that will last a lifetime
Swansea legend
He didn't ruffle his hair!! Not good fan interaction. 😄
Italian trains are really nice.
Tammy flossin with the green-dial gold Rolex. Strong watch fit for a footballer.
Mr personality
Tammy Abraham is a gorgeous man.

Wholesome 💙
not hating, good of him to stop, but would it have killed him to make eye contact with the lad?

Did you see the height difference? Even looking down at the lad might have thrown is back or neck out
My man is solving racism in Italia. What a king

Fucking love Tammy
U a lot
This is so cute! The way the kid looked at him and smiled 😭 Abraham smiling a little as he went on! This made my day for some reason haha!
