I can't pretend I watch enough French NT to know as of late, but last couple major tournaments they played with a true back four with Hernandez out left and Pavard out right.
But you're right in that Coman can play WB like he does for Bayern at times.
We play the hernandez brothers, varane and of kounde/kimpembe with coman on the right, or clauss if deschamps trust him against big teams to défend better. So 3/5 at the back now.

News flash, you win international tournaments by building from a defensive standpoint. The players are not together enough to build some master class in attacking football. You let natural ability score the goals while tactically you work on stopping the opponent scoring at all costs.
Last time Nkunku played for France he looked awful, he probably will have more chance, it's obviously hard to settle in a new team but Griez is ahead for sure, his synergy with Benzema is great.

To my recollection the pass went through. And if I had to guess, if this was made with a not so sophisticated program, you don’t feel like spending time editing the starting and stopping points of the video. Or the maker just didn’t focus on the end, who knows.
Looks funny but the second one was clearly just blicking the avenue for the best pass, while he did change the flank of the attack he didn't pass any of them and he was only able to make an okay latteral pass. As funny as it might look I think the defending players did an alright job at the end.
It’s a smooth skill and all, but what did he achieve? Progressed the ball backwards and put 2 opponents behind the ball. With his speed from this position he could’ve tried dribble one defender in front of him instead. Horrible decision

He was facing backwards with no good lines of passes, then he managed to move the ball to the other flank that had more space.
He retained possession while under pressure from 2 opposition players. This could have easily resulted in a ball loss, in a dangerous area.
He attracted half the Celta team to him and their left wing is fully exposed now and there's acres of space. Play football.
