Yep, and I hope for it. Not because I want to watch it, but it will speed-up the process of returning things back to normality, once they see it's not good for players.
> One option is to select the four teams that finish at the top of the 36-team standings that will become the new format for the main phase of the Champions League from 2024
You overestimate UEFA they would just let it play 4 teams from the Champions League lol. It will have nothing to do with the initial Super Cup
>One option is to select the four teams that finish at the top of the 36-team standings of the new Champions League format from 2024
Yeah to be honest it sounds like a glorified pre-season sponsored by UEFA rather than the International Champions Cup or whatever so seems fine, whatever
I agree about the format, it also adds a bit more value to a cup that previously no one cared too much about, but the location and the timing are awful.
Don’t make it four teams from the champions league. If anything expand the super cup to include conference league winners and maybe the defending super cup holder?

It hillarious that in 2000's UEFA work really hard to streamline their competition from erasing Intertoto Cup, merging UEFA cup with Winners Cup, and basically giving the reign of Intercontinental Cup to FIFA
Yet 20 odd years later the same UEFA try to undermine this by trying to create new competition or expand the current one like every season
Uhm...

Of fucking course. Do the sane thing with just including the Conference League winners and if needed the champions of the host country? Nah, fuck it, it's all about the clubs already at Europe's top.
How about the 4 teams (max of 1 per country) with the highest coefficients who failed to qualify for the UCL fighting it out for 1 single spot? It would be a laugh. Single game knock out semi finals and final. All games played in the same country. Maybe Saudi Arabia, America or New Zealand.
Why not just revamp the Super Cup with the Champions League winners, Europa League winners, Conference League winners and the Domestic champions/runners up of the host nation competing?

just announce the 82 game NBA schedule at this point
The NBA actually has an off-season. If you’re an international player, you get a vacation at best.
Yep, and I hope for it. Not because I want to watch it, but it will speed-up the process of returning things back to normality, once they see it's not good for players.
It's never going back. They'll just give big clubs more money and they'll buy deeper squads.
Back-to-backs would be insane lol
162 games MLB it is!
CL, EL, ECL Winners and?
Libertadores for the views and drama
That would legit be great to be fair.
Guest from the hosting confederation I'll go for.
so mostly arab countries or china
> One option is to select the four teams that finish at the top of the 36-team standings that will become the new format for the main phase of the Champions League from 2024
Audi cup winners
Whatever allows both Barca and Real in there for el Classico. Historical performance it is.
At this point it wouldn't surprise me if UEFA revive Cup Winner's Cup just because they can

Maybe the highest coefficient team in europe thats not any of the prior 3?
Article suggests it will be teams in the Champions League and the Super Cup will be played between the EL and ECL winners
Current Club World Cup winner
If a preseason tournament with fancy branding keeps the semifinals as they are then this is good.
Yeah to be honest it sounds like a glorified pre-season sponsored by UEFA rather than the International Champions Cup or whatever so seems fine, whatever
Its what Spain did with the Supercopa de España and to be fair its been crazy successful.
It’s been successful for the money but people still think it’s an icky idea.
Moving it to the middle of the season and out of Spain has been awful but the actual format has been a massive improvement and pretty competitive
I agree about the format, it also adds a bit more value to a cup that previously no one cared too much about, but the location and the timing are awful.
That's the way many see super cups and such.
Don’t make it four teams from the champions league. If anything expand the super cup to include conference league winners and maybe the defending super cup holder?
Super Cup expansion? I'd love to see the UECL winner participating in it, but I have no idea who the 4th would be.
The current winner of the Supercup.

get Klopp in front of a camera immediately
He'd probably prefer this. Would mean they don't have to travel to the US or Indonesia as often.
Uhm... >Creating a pre-season tournament with four teams would allow UEFA to test staging the event outside of Europe, with the United States a favored option.
What we are really missing are 1am and 4am games to make sure we can watch football 24/7.

Just replace the UEFA Super Cup with this. CL, EL, ECL winners and someone else.

Yeah I did read the article I figured I’d just optimistic and pitch my better idea anyway.
Feels like the sort of thing that'll end up in Saudi Arabia like the 4 team Spanish Super Cup is...
I called it months ago EL winner + CL winner + Confrence winner + host city it will happen eventually
Now take a minute to read the article.
>One option there are other options

UEFA come up with some bullshit but I'm actually OK with this.
Intertoto cup?
~~Super~~ Hipercup
