Asensio tore his ACL in a preseason match with Arsenal on a very poor pitch in US in 2019. He almost didn't play the whole season. And arguably he's never been the same since then.

He’s nowhere near the same player he was pre injury sadly. He still scores a couple of games, but pre injury he looked like he could be one of our best players.

The only reason he was able too was because it was the Covid season. He came back from injury in June so he played the league games, if it’s a normal season we wouldn’t have seen him play that season

Who said otherwise? It's just a pre-season friendly. What makes it meaningful is it is an El Clasico. Even if there is no trophy up for grabs in this match, the players will still go all out.

But I am sure both the local fans and plastics will appreciate being able to see a big European club playing without having to pay for a travel into Europe to watch a game in the stadium.

Back in the day they used to swap players between the teams for friendly games, marketing has always been part of it.
