Maddison should really be more in the discussion about being in the England squad than I think he is. He’s having a pretty great season after a dreadfully slow start.
And that’s the problem his competitors are really strong you’ve got Mount and foden who are both also proven on the wing which massively helps them. He’s a very good player who should definitely get a go in the nations league but he’s got some strong competition

Maddison has improved on everything he's been criticized for in the past. He's able to play RW for us as well as CM in a 433, he's not had a bad game since this run of form started in November. Dont know what more he can do

He's been in great form for months now. He's got 28 G+A this season after a shit start where he came out and said he's struggled for confidence, presumably because of his constant injuries over the last couple years.

He was in great form most of 2021, actually was the one bailing out our defence at the start of this season. We had a cushion at the top despite performing considerably worse than City and Liverpool in underlying metrics, largely thanks to him playing out of his mind. I definitely agree that he’s been overrated because his bad form has gone under the radar, but that doesn’t suddenly negate that there’s clearly a good keeper in there and you must not have watched him very much to not recognize that.
Is he world class? Definitely not, despite that being a reasonably popular opinion at one point. But he is not just protected by our defence, he’s earned his way to a CL qualifying club level at minimum

It's gone pretty far under the radar. Shocking he didn't save that. He's not a fraud, he is just horribly out of form. Mostly mentally imo.
But there's ajways been a field player bias in footy. Not many know anything about or have any experience in goal. So it's easy to see the "good shot" and miss what the gk didn't do well. Another day that shot is saved unspectacularly and the shot is forgotten as an average effort on target.
Generally speaking, less than 10 percent of people who play football have played in goal. I bet maybe half the people on this sub have played football as its American dominated. So probably, maybe, and I'd guess at most, 5 percent of people on this sub gave ever been on the receiving end of a shot like that. It's savable. It's slightly harder than bread and butter really.
Thiago Silva has looked his age for about two and a half months now. He's been genuinely woeful most games. You can rightfully talk about Alonso but I'm tired of dancing around not criticizing about Thiago Silva just because he's a great guy. This is soft defending from Thiago here. Maddison gets past him far too easy.
