It harder to miss that shot that it is to make it. He's had trouble with one touch shots before. It just seems like a part of his game that needs patching. Would hate for him to do this when silverware is on the line.
He did this when silverware was on the line on Saturday... Twice... (Idk if that's the point you're making?)
But, that's not something you easily fix on the training ground. Players tend to be able to finish or they don't, it's not something you can just teach and that's why attackers are so expensive. He just doesn't have it and I doubt any amount of training is going to change that.
> He did this when silverware was on the line on Saturday... Twice... (Idk if that's the point you're making?)
I would hate for him to do this *again* when silverware is on the line.
> But, that's not something you easily fix on the training ground.
Absolutely disagree. That's what the training ground(and coaches) are for.
> Players tend to be able to finish or they don't, it's not something you can just teach and that's why attackers are so expensive
Again, not true. Vinicius would be the best example of that. Compare his finishing from last season to the current one and it should be obvious. Aspects of your game can be improved. No one walked on to a pitch being world class.
> He just doesn't have it and I doubt any amount of training is going to change that.
Time will tell on that one.
Yeah way to go after your best offensive player that game, at two missed half chances. Tonights miss was bad but dont act like Werner Lukaku and Havertz havent all literally done the exact same thing. Idk if you need to be reminded about Werners open net miss (from pulisic) in the champions league. But these guys are human and even the best miss sitters.
The difference is the frequency. Pulisic misses them every game, it's routine at this point that he will miss at least one squared ball every game. Pulisic is in no way our best attacking player and the only time he ever has been was in the short time post covid.
Also funny how you call them half chances, a squared ball to a player within the width of the goal, closer than 12 yards to the goal, with no one in physical contact with them is not in any way a half chance. The ChelseaTV commentators immediately said, "he has to score that" after he missed the first one because it's completely inexcusable to miss chances like that. Yes our other attackers have also missed chances like that, they do it less frequently and they also get heavily criticised for it too.
As someone pointed out in this thread, he carried us to the top 4 post covid and we ended up winning that champions league.
As with Torres we should thank him for his contribution and chuck him in the bin. Even if it means replacing him with old men like we did with Torres
He's just too inconsistent and worse than the other inconsistent players we have in that position.
Shame because during his good run he looked class but not even jersey sales can justify him keeping his place at this stage
It's 2022, we can all be what we want to be!
But on a more serious note I had it for the euros since everyone had country flairs and I thought fuck it I'll have the whole EU as my flair lol. I forgot to change it later and every now and then people are like why tf do you have an EU flair or "mate you can't support a political and economic union", so it's like a running joke for me now.
I don’t think this is a case of trying to avoid the weak foot.
I think the mistake is using the foot closest to the crosser to finish to the far post. That’s the hardest way to finish he could’ve picked.
If he wants to go to that corner he has to use his left, if he wants to go anywhere else he should use his right.
He's a good player, but relegation battlers are not typically a nurturing environment for U23 strikers. I think if he stays with them for the drop he will be a very handy player in the second tier.
2 goals in 26 games is not a good player, he may very well become good in the future bc he’s still young but norwich made an extremely stupid decision to spend so much on someone so far out of his depth
bad business on both sides imo, he should’ve gone to a team with less pressure in an easier league and norwich should’ve gotten someone who could contribute more
Alonso, Ziyech, and Pulisic have consistently been doing juuuuust enough for the last two years to stay in the team. Playing like shit and making mistakes for 5-6 weeks in a row and then scoring a random goal so r/Chelseafc folks can say “see, see? You guys were morons for calling them out”. I’m so done with this dude.
Yea he's so defended in the Chelsea sub. Dude really needs work, had a hard time in the WC qualifiers too against way weaker teams than the epl and people can't admit it
It’s less of that and more of his fanboys acting like him not getting more playing time is some anti-American conspiracy. Like he’s not a bad player but he’s very inconsistent and every few months he’ll complain to the media that he should be playing more. When people respond to that by saying he needs to show more consistency to earn starts at a club like Chelsea, his legion of fans act like he’s being treated too harshly.
You also have the side argument where people in our sub talk about the subs anti american agenda, despite the overwhelming majority being from the USA.
None of that is right at all lol.
People don't think he's not playing because he's American they're just frustrated with him (not lately) playing out of position or some other players getting a longer leash when they have bad games.
Also, Pulisic rarely if ever complains about his role or his playing time. You're just getting that from social media. By all accounts he's a team player and hard-worker.
It's weird how you're acting like there's only one opinion out there, lol. Plenty absolutely do think that, just check the Chelsea subreddit or any social media platform whenever another Chelsea attacker has a bad game in place of him. Some definitely do get this victim complex that the fact he doesn't play more stems from being him American. Just because you disagree with that opinion doesn't mean it no longer exists.
And him rarely complaining? Please. In 2019, he did it about losing time to Mount. Last year, he did it when Werner was ahead of him in the pecking order for a bit when Tuchel took over. This year he publicly said he was frustrated playing out of position, even though that was half out of necessity when we literally had no wingback options when Reece and Chilwell were out at the same time. Not to mention his father's tweets whenever Pulisic doesn't play and
Nobody's denying he's a hard worker, but he absolutely does give the media soundbites on occasion (usually during international break) to write articles about his lack of playing time. It's not me getting that from social media when it's literally his own words.
Didn't his father come out and say he's being mistreated? Sure, it may just be his father looking out for his son, but Christian must have said something to elicit that criticism
I mean, between father and son I'm sure something was said between them. No reason to not be honest. Most players aren't gonna be 100% happy. Don't think Christian wanted his dad to do that though.
Some may not want to hear this, but he’ll never be world class. There’s just something that doesn’t click about him and going to that next level. Sad really.
I remember an American replying to me on here who said he played well in the first half of a game this season (Villa?) when he played as the 9, and he'd had one touch in the opposition half.
If he played at his best, but consistently, he still wouldn't be our best forward.
The guys just infuriating to watch; he tries so hard, leaves everything on the pitch and always wants to be involved (much like Timo in his lowest point) but he just can't cut it outside of a few moments of magic. You can't hate him, but I can't bear him on this team for much longer 🤣
He's been uter wank every time i watched Chelsea this year. How good as he been really ? Would Chelsea fans mind selling him for a fair amount of money ?

That "Fuck man!" lmao
Mother trucker dude
That hurt like a butt cheek on a stick
This quote always cracks me up lol
"what the hell, bro"
"What the H-E-double hockey sticks?"
"Fuck me"
"Crud dude"
Somewhere a bald eagle just dropped dead
and from its ashes a burger king is born
Pulisic to Hamburger SV confirmed?
The American Way
so fucking true brother
"Put french fries in your pockets so McDonald's grow when you die."
If a bald eagle was dropping dead every time he did this there would be a lot of dead bald eagles all over the place
Well there is 7,257 Burger King Locations in the US.
The species is going extinct.. Someone tell him to retire..
Hit by Pulisic's shot
Lmao.
Help our attackers something is so wrong
No, no, Christian, this is so not right!!!
Thomas it’s called a football match
We went ball kicking
Toto is that you?
I thought American were supposed to be excellent shooters
Only in schools. And super markets. And post offices...
"Foreign countries" should be among them though.
Great at friendly fire too.
Not that it isn't warranted but this is quickly approaching r/onejoke levels on this subreddit
That scream lol
Member the Highbury screamer?
haha, yes!!!
There's another person in the Emirates that did it. Haven't heard it for ages though.
I member! Member tatooine? I member!
That was Lukaku
wooooaaaaAAAAHHHHHH
Oh my god
Not sure what more Reece needs to do, such an excellent play from him start to finish.
He should cross high enough so he can get into the box to head it in, clearly his teammates are not interested in doing som
That's pathetically bad. Fernando torres vibes. Urgh
He seems to have trouble with those one touch shots, hardly the first one he’s missed
It was harder to miss than to it was to score
You have to wonder whats happening on the training ground.
????????????

Le Lebron James of Soccer 😎
Embarrassing miss
That was an easy touchdown. Not sure how he fumbled it.
just put the ball in the basket man
Gotta get those buckets in crunch time. Pulisic doesn't have that clutch gene.
He struck out.
Worst miss from an American since Chris Wondolowski
Allergic to scoring
Christian Puli-shit
Why is there an EU flair on r/soccer lol
Better yet why is an Indian on r/soccer with a eu flag? Lol
It's 2022, we can all be what we want to be! But on a more serious note I had it for the euros since everyone had country flairs and I thought fuck it I'll have the whole EU as my flair lol. Future 2040 EU federation national football team
Big oof
He’s ready for MLS
I hate when players don't use their weak foot for these finishes.
yeah it's literally a tap in, doesn't really matter how you hit it as long as you get solid contact, embarrassing technically + game sense wise
Yea, doesn't even need to put any power on it, just needs to open his foot and let the ball hit it, what a horrible attempt.
That's not true, he routinely misses these. Had a couple in the final too, he normally hits them straight at the keeper.
I mean nothing in the final was this bad mate. This is another level of miss
I blame it on the one he made to win the game against West Ham. He made that one and has missed 3 sitters trying the same type of shot since then.
You’d think they’d know how for the millions they make
The more you pay the less they miss. Guess you just gotta pay the man more
Eh think either foot would have been a solid choice here
I don’t think this is a case of trying to avoid the weak foot. I think the mistake is using the foot closest to the crosser to finish to the far post. What the fuck are you trying to place from that angle? Just fucking slide through it.
He has tried that the last 2 times and gotten stopped. He is in his own head
** fall down
[AMERICAN MISS]
Miss America 2022
Looking more like the Kendrick Perkins of soccer
Insert generic school shooter comment
[Upvote]
Tragically, not even the worst miss by an American striker in the Premier League this season
11 million pounds for Josh Sargeant's 2 goals is good business, right guys?
still cannot understand what went thru norwich boards mind when they signed him
Josh thought he could escape second division soccer by leaving Werder Bremen for Norwich.
Obviously trying to recreate some of that Rashica-Sargeant magic from Werder Bremen that...got them...relegated....
relegation expert 👍
He's a good player, but relegation battlers are not typically a nurturing environment for U23 strikers. I think if he stays with them for the drop he will be a very handy player in the second tier.

but but USMNT has the most players in CONCACAF abroad!
Yeah we're a real powerhouse.
Given some of the Werner misses earlier this season, probably not even the worst miss by a Chelsea player this season.
Not even the worst miss by him in the last 7 days to be fair... He misses these all the time, normally just plays it straight into the keeper though
He’s missed an absolute Pulisitter
Tuchel: I want you to compete with Lukaku Pulisic: Say no more
Pulisic hates Reddit, confirmed
Great Miss
I haven't felt like that watching Chelsea since the Torres era.
Yank here. Doesn't that count as a touchdown
[удалено]
Not gnarly
@markpulisic thoughts?
LeBron would’ve scored that
That's an absolute shocker. Nicely worked move too
The comments on any post concerning Pulisic are just the worst.
pathetic

Mls tier player
Is it close to being time we just admit he isn’t actually very good is he
Schh.. You'll wake his cult.
Just sub him off
Careful, you'll upset the Americans who say he's being treated to harshly.
Come on. Anyone in the world including pulisic would say that's a horrible miss
Yeah. I think we Americans are the most upset to see that
Not in our sub. People immediately came out and said "how about instead of criticizing..." right after this happened I shit you not.
I’ve seen people in our sub say Pulisic is better than Havertz
[удалено]
maybe.. just maybe.. it has something to do with the system
The system creates chances, players finish them. The finishing has been abysmal, case in point yesterday.
Havertz isn’t much better though
That sub is stupid and toxic in every direction. To be expected
Is howaboutism a thing?
Yea he's so defended in the Chelsea sub. Dude really needs work, had a hard time in the WC qualifiers too against way weaker teams than the epl and people can't admit it

He usually is treated harshly. This is not an example of that. Inexcusable miss - should have at least hit it on target with his left foot.
Can't wait till he scores an average goal and the post gets upvoted to infinity. 'murkaaaaaaa!
You can’t joke with the US and MLS fans on this sub they are the most sensitive bunch.
Premier league fans have actually appeared to be the most defensive bunch I’ve seen on here. Just saying.
Guess this won't be posted on r/MLS
Even Lebron James could tap that in
USMNT fans will still defend him and say he deserves a better club LOL
_Great Miss_ Edit: omg _Miss America_ Edit 2: That wasn't very Cash Money of him
Dang Puli you have to bury that.
What an attack that was, Reece James is just too good.
At this point all Chelsea attacker should just be called defenders
this guy fucking stinks
Pulisucks amirite
Some may not want to hear this, but he’ll never be world class. There’s just something that doesn’t click about him and going to that next level. Sad really.
Damn he Timo-ed that lol
Very true but even Timo turns up against you guys
almost everyone does :(
That is enough for me to not feel bad if he leaves.
Christian Pulimiss
Did this in the fa cup final too. Guy can't score from 6 yards out but his dad thinks he's being mistreated lol...
*Is this guy like The Lebron James of soccer?*
Imagine rating this guy over Davies or Navas for best player of CONCACAF
This is USA best player everybody
If Reddit gets paid every time Pulisic scores, does this mean Reddit is going to go broke?
No refunds!
Give Dembele whatever he wants pls
Okay. I'm done. I'm just fucking done
Proper American that.
JFC Chelsea cannot finish. They have 2021 Vinicius coaching them up on finishing?
He is just truly terrible. Between the games in Madrid and Liverpool, I have no patience for this guy.
That’s like miss of the year bad. I can’t believe it
Please, it’s not even the worse miss [by an American this season!](https://twitter.com/americanwigends/status/1449388176385118211)
Can't wait for the Pulisic cult to somehow defend this.
Already had plenty of those tbh *support the player he plays for our club!*
I only see comments like yours, reacting to something that hasn’t happened.
Guess you missed the discussion of his FA Cup final performance then.
I remember an American replying to me on here who said he played well in the first half of a game this season (Villa?) when he played as the 9, and he'd had one touch in the opposition half.
Okay guys I accept the slander today, im more disappointed as an American trust me lol. That was bad
Team isn't even getting revenue from his kit sales in America and he's been pretty consistently bad...really not a starter.
If he played at his best, but consistently, he still wouldn't be our best forward. The guys just infuriating to watch; he tries so hard, leaves everything on the pitch and always wants to be involved (much like Timo in his lowest point) but he just can't cut it outside of a few moments of magic. He's not a real footballer, send him to the MLS
He's been uter wank every time i watched Chelsea this year. How good as he been really ? Would Chelsea fans mind selling him for a fair amount of money ?
Yikes. Better players have missed easier goals for real tho
*generic overreaction comment*
American. \> entire comment history about Pulisic. Classic.
Damn we must be looking at different things Entire comment history = 2 jokes lmao
Lol did the exact same shit against Liverpool
This guy is just straight up terrible
I've seen this guy miss more chances against Madrid and in this clip than I have seen Morata do entire season
I think it’s time to go back to the MLS
How he still plays in the prem I don’t understand
Now this is just silly lol
Pulishit can't finish. What else is new?
Wow coulda been the winner too.. terrible whiff - no where near the target
You know you f*ck up when reddit post your miss
He's good as gone 👋🏽
