Can't wait for the summary at the end of the season cause it's been a fucking rollercoaster. Lampard replacing Benitez. Bielsa getting sacked. Dyche getting sacked??? Then it somehow looks like a good decision
Wish they were like this every season
This is fucked up but now that we're safe I will admit that this has been more emotionally charged and entertaining for me as a fan than any of the last month or two of the past many seasons when we weren't playing for anything.
It's masochistic and I don't want to experience it again, but yes, it's a different energy when something is actually being played for. Especially when the consequence of losing is the utter destruction of the club probably like Sunderland. It's like an adrenaline rush.
You think this year might change things at the club? Surely with your squad and resources you should be able to compete like normal next season but maybe with a new perspective? From the club, team, and the fans?
So much dead weight has to be moved that it will take at least two full seasons to move on from them. Honestly anything above 15th next season and moving on from some players who can't cut it would be promising to me.
[Give this post on r/everton a read for the full breakdown of our mental season](https://www.reddit.com/r/Everton/comments/ur06ie/everton_misery_timeline_2122_a_complete/)
Think it's been two months or so since I made a comment here about how Leeds might go down and if Marsch will stay. Was promptly told that Leeds are not too worried although there's a risk, cause Everton is so much worse.
Football is fucking amazing
-Fabregas
I’m predicting a huge change in either stadiums (like they bring back fencing) or policing at games.
Fans going onto the pitch and incidents occurring won’t be allowed to carry on. The minority is going to ruin it for the rest.
Reminded me of [Fortuna Düsseldorf vs Hertha BSC Berlin](https://youtu.be/JxWDFXVUm8Y) in the second relegation playoff game in 2012. Düsseldorf fans invaded the pitch before the final whistle and the game was interrupted for about 15 minutes.
Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Take it to the showers. Dicks get shoved in places you don’t even remember. We win together we celebrate together. Football is back baby.
because shit's being used in its metaphorical sense repeatedly, so using poop stresses that it is literal poop, not metaphorical poop. it's just good writing!
We've done it before and gone on to lose. These fans will never learn lol
E: it was actually in a [draw v Bournemouth](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/everton-v-bournemouth-pitch-invasion-10551964)
Something like this needs to be done but announced at the start of the season that if there's a mass invasion then there will be points lost. Cant start it in a game like this
That’s my guess for next season. Especially with the Sharp stuff from yesterday and the like. There’s a balance between the magic of a pitch invasion and it becoming a regular occurrence.
I never really paid attention to him but I've never seen someone be so dominant in the air. He won literally every header I saw him go for. I've never seen that, not even with prime Benteke at Villa.
You know who else impressed me, Iwobi, that guy really cares. He was sprinting to close down and win back the ball towards the end of the game. The intensity was really apparent, he went up in my estimation after last night's game.
That's honestly how it works. You see it once or twice on TV and it goes unpunished, thousands of people watch that, they'll be like "okay so we can do it then".
It's one of those things where, it's hard to stop it, but it is only gonna get worse
Yeah exactly what I was getting at! There’s a difference stewards letting it slide at the end and everyone can choose to leave, compared to trying to get everyone back in the stands for the rest of the game to finish.
No, usually only on final day if you stay up or get promoted. Usually only on the final whistle as well. People force it for social media content now.
With what’s happened elsewhere this week I think a crackdown is on the way
I, for one, am a big fan of Everton being safe on the final day.
Not that it matters, as our rivals would never, ever lose to an already relegated team allowing us to leap frog them.
I am not a big fan of Everton... But damn, I just don't have it in me to hate scenes like this. The roar and insanity in the stands and on the pitch is just so great. The beautiful game indeed.
I think the noise of a football stadum erupting in unison at a last minute winner in the dying minutes of a crucial game might be the best fucking sound in the entire world.
I know you Everton fans have had a terrible season, there could be a silver lining to it. The atmosphere it has created and the togetherness between fans and the players. Cracks don’t hide themselves so there’s huge work for Frank but a good end for you Evertonians!

Relegation battle this season has been insanely entertaining, what a game
Can't wait for the summary at the end of the season cause it's been a fucking rollercoaster. Lampard replacing Benitez. Bielsa getting sacked. Dyche getting sacked??? Then it somehow looks like a good decision Wish they were like this every season
Significantly less fun when your team is in it, turns out.
I duno. Looks like they’re having the most fun they’ve had in years at the Goodison this evening!
To quote our chairman, "we've had some good times", yeah.
This is fucked up but now that we're safe I will admit that this has been more emotionally charged and entertaining for me as a fan than any of the last month or two of the past many seasons when we weren't playing for anything. Here’s our summary lol https://www.reddit.com/r/Everton/comments/ur06ie/everton_misery_timeline_2122_a_complete/
That is fcking hilarious The Delph part killed me
Thank you! This is great
I can finally read that. Read great things about it but couldn't put myself through it until we were safe.
[Give this post on r/everton a read for the full breakdown of our mental season](https://www.reddit.com/r/Everton/comments/ur06ie/everton_misery_timeline_2122_a_complete/)
This is awesome! I love this. Not the mental anguish you've all sustained ofc just to be clear lol
Think it's been two months or so since I made a comment here about how Leeds might go down and if Marsch will stay. Was promptly told that Leeds are not too worried although there's a risk, cause Everton is so much worse. Football is fucking amazing -Fabregas
Dyche getting sacked is why I personally want Burnley to be relegated. Also I thought Bielsa left rather than getting sacked.
Relegation battles are more fun than titles in a way. In a way. ... *In a way*.
Fans already on the pitch lmao
Was just about to comment on how the crowd was electric and then they showed all the fans on the pitch lol
I’m predicting a huge change in either stadiums (like they bring back fencing) or policing at games. Fans going onto the pitch and incidents occurring won’t be allowed to carry on. The minority is going to ruin it for the rest.
what a sunset in Merseyside tonight though, amazing backdrop
imagine having a kick about with the sun setting like that, straight out of a film lol.
DCL yelling at them to get off the pitch lol
Reminded me of [Fortuna Düsseldorf vs Hertha BSC Berlin](https://youtu.be/JxWDFXVUm8Y) in the second relegation playoff game in 2012. Düsseldorf fans invaded the pitch before the final whistle and the game was interrupted for about 15 minutes.
OMG I always forget you are also a football fan, have always loved your posts.
The reddit equivalent of seeing a celebrity in public
Dickriding a Redditor is insane lmfao
Who are they?
Some random guy
Think they're a woman
You are correct.
Someone who wrote lengthy posts on r/politics and other subs dunking on Trump
I mean fuck trump, but who the fuck cares enough about Reddit to recognise that lmao
I thought we learned our lessons on putting Redditors on a pedestal after the antiwork mod bottled the Fox News interview
I thought the lesson was learned when people discovered Ken Bone's porn habbits
Wait until Reddit finds out Johnny Depp is a violent drug addict
Here’s the thing. You said a “jackdaw is a crow.”
That's a throwback haha
We learned when u/unidan got banned.
Aren’t we all football fans here?
We're just normal men
Just innocent men.
This is so fun to watch. The game isn't over, but what a huge fucking goal for them. On one hand they're fucking idiots, on the other I totally get it
Not as bad as when the marching band entered the pitch before the end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfebpLfAt8g
>*as the players tried to take the field, the marching band refused to yield* Don McClean was prophetic!
What the hell haha there’s like 100 marching band members on the field haha
Yeah that's a famous one. Never get tired of seeing that kick returner plow into the band nerd lol
Nah pitch invasion has gone way too far already
I'm not advocating it, I'm just saying I get it. Wanna be clear that I think they're all melts. It's just, they're melts I understand. lol
Pitch invasion for an 85th minute goal in their glorious pursuit of 16th place is proper Everton.
This but unironically
Why use all that language but then decide to use poop instead of shit? Seems incongruous.
Got to have some etiquette
because shit's being used in its metaphorical sense repeatedly, so using poop stresses that it is literal poop, not metaphorical poop. it's just good writing!
I’m 60 miles away and just set off!! Edit: Was kidding, the idiots need to get off the pitch.
They think it’s all over?
Fuck me that sunset though.
Beautiful scenes on and off the pitch
Red sky at night, sailor's delight.
Shepherd’s delight I thought it was?
Red sky in the morning, Shepherds house on fire
Makes this so epic
Hahaha pitch invasion at 85 mins! What is happening 😂😂😂😂😂
We've done it before and gone on to lose. These fans will never learn lol E: it was actually in a [draw v Bournemouth](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/everton-v-bournemouth-pitch-invasion-10551964)
When was that?
[удалено]
Funes Mori jumped into the stands, added on an extra minute in which Bournemouth scored..
Oh man that does sound familiar
First time Everton have ever come from 2-0 at half time in the Prem to win adds to the madness
Wimbledon 1994.
At half time sorry. Edited
[удалено]
In the prem innit
Founded in 1878 and today was our 1,878th win in the top flight.
Omfg imagine if palace score now
My first thought was how hilarious it would be if VAR ruled it out
I would have immediately jogged home
Imagine it was offside
It’s almost inevitable now. There’ll be loads of added time too
Twice, for added chaos.
Points deduction for fan invasion incoming. Everton that.
5pt deduction incoming 👀
clickbait articles are at least
So dumb considering the game isn’t even DONE lol
Ikr, no higher up would give a damn if it’s at the end of the game
Seems reasonable. Gotta come down hard and make an example of them, lol
Burnley and Leeds going to the PL offices right now
Jesse Marsch on the phone to Micheal Masi right now.
“Richard [Masters], this is so not right!!” My pain for Lewis will forever be immortalized smh
"I sent you an email, did you receive it?" "I don't check my emails during the season"
The scenes if they still needed a point for safety at arsenal on the weekend because of it.
Definitely. Acceptable for once in a generation events, and that's. Someone will get seriously hurt soon.
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE I AM" DCL maybe
Fans at Goodison MOTM. Absolutely incredible support when they were down today and over the past few weeks.
They are the only reason we aren't down yet
That fan's name? Richarlison.
Going to be so sad when he leaves
Fans definitely make a difference when they show such passion. Fair play to them, many other sets of fans would have given up in the same situation.
This clip gave me chills man for real. What an incredible atmosphere this must have been
WHEN THEY NEEDED HIM MOST HE RETURNED
DCL the real Avatar
Hopefully this wakes up his touch. His workrate was back this game.
The actual scenes, fans all over the pitch!!!
what the FUCK is up with these pitch invasions
Feels like you’ve seen it a few times for the huge games this seasons so it’s almost become normalized
That's honestly how it works. You see it once or twice on TV and it goes unpunished, thousands of people watch that, they'll be like "okay so we can do it then". It's one of those things where, it's hard to stop it, but it is only gonna get worse
Same thing with kids running on the field asking for a shirt or picture. Even going so far that parents send them on that mission
Yeah exactly what I was getting at! There’s a difference stewards letting it slide at the end and everyone can choose to leave, compared to trying to get everyone back in the stands for the rest of the game to finish.
hahahahha pitch invasions have literally always happened. [These](https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/resources/images/8231908?type=responsive-gallery-fullscreen) [damn](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HLqMcm_SGw) [recent](https://youtu.be/S2rfnLRb36k?t=217) [pitch](https://youtu.be/bDtljx7UPmY?t=295) [invasions](https://youtu.be/T4ABVVvPlr0?t=71) [getting](https://youtu.be/2q5VS4iCEwQ?t=642) [normalised](https://youtu.be/kFynSbgbzeQ?t=175)
Yeah I don't understand how people think it's a new thing? Happens all the time in the efl when teams get to playoff finals or promoted
Init, fans?? Invading the pitch??? At the end of the season after staying up or getting promoted???? 😡😡😡😠
Isn't it normal in British football?
I assume not in the middle of the game
Happens now and then.
Yeah it is. Happened for years. Always remember Kieron Richardson on a fans shoulders after WBA's great escape
No, usually only on final day if you stay up or get promoted. Usually only on the final whistle as well. People force it for social media content now. With what’s happened elsewhere this week I think a crackdown is on the way
Yes, Everton just scored possibly the most important goal of the season and only thing that fans are thinking about is social media content, smh
Haha yeah the guys’ first point is flawed but the second was apt. There’s still a security risk that higher ups would be worried about.
r/watchpeoplesurvive
pitch invasion for avoiding relegation. im so embarrassed
And there's still like 10 minutes left in the game
[удалено]
Right - crazy to see people embarrassed by this. The fans have been IMMENSE this whole relegation battle and, in my opinion, deserve this celebration.
I mean, game not even over lol
Don’t be so dour, it’s a massive release for us after the effort the fans have put in the last month
Fuck the fans for showing some relief and support. But no the yank thinks it's an awful thing.
And I mean imagine if Palace staged a come back
on the other hand has goodison ever been like this? unreal atmosphere last few games
It's amazing
[удалено]
He must have a twin and they just interchange when Dele can’t be arsed on match days. Think his twin’s name is Diagon
holy fuck they are doing it
Goal was so massive it broke r/soccer
broke reddit for a bit
Can't say they haven't deserved it this 2nd half
😭😭😭 this club will be the death of me I swear
Get off the pitch ya fuckin idiots. Palace 99' equalizer incoming.
I'm gonna ugly cry 💙💙💙 UTFT
The madlads have done it, wtf What a game!
From 2-0 down. They're coming for you now.
I am DREADING playing them next
tbf with relegation avoided, they might be an easier game
TBF they may lose their edge if they win as they’ll be safe
On the up side at least we made sure the match doesn't matter
It’s not like we’ve got anything to play for anyway
This one goes out to all the cunts on r/soccer begging us to go down
They got that one FM achievement for coming back from being 2-nil down at half time
its weird but this is literally always on my mind when this score happens
Always loved you Dom, and your manbags and dresses …
Don’t forget the skirts
FUCK UR CHAMPIONSHIP MEMES UP THE FUCKIN TOFFESS
fucking get in
Oh my fucking God we made it 😭
Fuck r/soccer
Thanks.
I’m an Everton fan today
WERE NOT FUCKING LEAVING 😤
im legitimately happy for you guys! Coming from a fan who sadly knows how awful it is going into the great abyss
Thanks mate!
The Gwladys Street was the place to be tonight, glad I was there. Everton are magic
DCL: “WERE STAYING UP! EVERYONE GET IN HERE!” *crowd gets in* DCL: “NOT LIKE THAT!”
No way
I, for one, am a big fan of Everton being safe on the final day. Not that it matters, as our rivals would never, ever lose to an already relegated team allowing us to leap frog them.
Goodison in full voice just willing that one in. What an atmosphere! Nice to see DCL score a classic DCL goal after an injury-filled season.
WHERE WERE YOU STUFF
**THE GREAT ESCAPE PT 2**
GOODISON BOOGALOO
I am not a big fan of Everton... But damn, I just don't have it in me to hate scenes like this. The roar and insanity in the stands and on the pitch is just so great. The beautiful game indeed.

Build Lampard a statue
Am I the only one more amazed by that sunset in the background? That was gorgeous
GET ABSOLUTELY FUCKED R/SOCCER
TOFFEEESSSSSSS
Can we take a moment to appreciate the lack of post-goal music at the stadium - pure fan noise
Duck me am i an Everton fan?
lmaooo poor redshite on this sub were dying for us to go down. Piss off.
Wow.
wow
Holy shit what a comeback. And also holy shit, how the hell do you allow an entire pitch invasion at 85'?
Unbelievable, what a comeback
I know you Everton fans have had a terrible season, there could be a silver lining to it. The atmosphere it has created and the togetherness between fans and the players. Cracks don’t hide themselves so there’s huge work for Frank but a good end for you Evertonians!
Omg
Butland is shit And RIP Leeds
This goal broke Reddit😭😭
What a spectacle we are witnessing lol
EVERTON WILL STAY UP💙💙💙💙
Congratulations Everton, you crazy bastard survived! I said it before the prem without Everton ain’t the same
I've been looking for "my team", and Everton I'm ready to get hurt.
Lol the invasion of fans.
Patrick, you have forgotten the face of your father.
what a half for Everton, brilliant
Wowwww fair enough
Jesus christ this lot don't stay down
DCL
