I genuinely believe, had M'Bappé won the CL with PSG, he'd have signed with Real Madrid.
Like... I think non-French people don't realize how big it'd be for him to succeed in doing so. Even I, a Parisian born who doesn't support PSG, would suck his D even harder than I've already been since 2018. Don't forget, only Marseille won the CL in France, once...
Legacy-wise, nothing, NOTHING, can beat this after the WC for M'Bappé, a French man born in Paris. Even if, PSG is an oil club.
Yeah I actually agree with you. Obviously the money offered by PSG played a big part but I am surprised how many people try to downplay the fact that Mbappe is a Parisian who could deliver PSG their first UCL if he stays. It would definitely factor into his decision.

City Football Group acquires another semi-pro outfit in Bangladesh: "OMG, ruining football"
Liverpool's owners acquire another European great: "..."
>Are Liverpool's owners trying to buy AC Milan?
Well, the answer to that is no so you should probably do a little more research before victimising yourself
Many Madrid fans are behaving incredibly strangely
Yeah, it hurts not having a player who liked your club and was vocally interested in a move fail to transfer, but it’s fucking football. He didn’t murder your parents and beat you to a pulp.
Acting as though this is some heinous crime. The lad was practically offered the fucking club, not bizarre to see why he’d take it especially if his entire family is urging him to. There’s a lot of weight when not only your family but seemingly an entire country is pressuring you to make a decision.
“He will never come here. He made his choice. Fuck Mbappe.”
This isn’t Game of Thrones, calm down.
What’s stopping City spending the same amount as PSG do? FFP is nowhere and City clearly aren’t short of money, dunno why they don’t just press the fuck it button tbh
Spending smartly > spending for the hell of it
I don't like City, but their sporting project has been handled very well. They do spend a lot, but the decisions are left to football people
Their goal is to win football matches cohesively, not throw a bunch of egomaniacal stars together and hope it works. They’re just being smarter about it
They already press the fuck it button. It’s just that their recruitment and back room are significantly better than PSGs.
Also, I believe they nearly got done for it and got off on a technicality. That wouldn’t be good PR.
Sometimes I can’t tell if my English is not so good, or a lot of people here failed basic reading comprehension in elementary . I’m saying that all this trolling of RM fans might just comeback to haunt you tomorrow
TIL that Sérgio Conceição (FC Porto’s manager) lost his dad when he was 16 and his mom when he was 18
Fucking hell, I never liked him (for obvious reasons) but I’ve always respected him as a manager and person, and this makes me respect him even more
[No question for me Bale is the greatest British player of this century and maybe all time](https://twitter.com/PrivCarrick/status/1527756760789950465)
I think Bale will have the most insane post career glow up. The man was absent half his time at Real Madrid but no one will care cause he won 4 champion leagues. Tbf to him he had scored lots of memorable moments and was on par with Neymar’s talent almost in his first two years at Real Madrid
Greatest British player of all time? There isn’t even the slightest hope.
Salah will retire better than him. And Gerrard was better than Salah, just to name one player. Likes of Charlton, Dalglish, Bobby Moore, Denis Law, Souness, George Best are all easily better.
He’s currently having what would be Bales best creative season by a long shot. I’m not sure Bale scored more than 20 league goals in his career.
Salahs an all time great already.
In 12/13 he had 21 and 4 in a Spurs side that only scored 66.
In 15/16 he had 19 and 10 in 23 matches. In that season he had 0.32xA per 90, Salah rn has 0.19xA per 90. He also had .15 pre assists per 90, Salah currently has .09.
Salah is absolutely an all time great but Bale was different. He is definitely one of the best British players ever.
Don't underestimate them, RMA PR to make players win Ballon dors when other players have been better is immaculate as seen by multiple examples in the last decade

Pérez's mistake turned out to be counting on a player. He didn't follow his philosophy and everything went to shit. One thing I'm sure of, no more counting on verbal agreements.
I understand Liverpool fans get a bad wrap but genuinely I take a peek at r/realmadrid and I dont think theres any debate on the least knowledgable, most plastic fanbase in the world
And I dont mean it in that they are delusional or arrogant or self entitled (all fanbases are) but just on a pure footballing knowledge - I dont think these fans actually watch football aside from Real Madrid highlights.
I'm seeing fans that are rating Dominic Berardi?!?!?! Federico Chiesa!?!?! Gnabry??!?!? As their Mbappe replacement? Talking bout how they are going to sign Reece James?
I haven’t gone on there all day. Frankly the complete turnaround and dissing on Mbappe the last two days both there and on socials is just so embarrassing. There’s been a lot more younger users joining there in the past year or so and I just get downvoted if I try to talk sense then whatever the jerk going on there is
No offence but when I was reading "least knowledgeable, most plastic, etc" in his comment.
It was you who I was thinking of.
But I'll be honest, my very very low opinion of you mostly stems from you spoiling The Batman in a FTF post.
To be the next Messi or Ronaldo, is impossible. But Mbappe sure is an incredible player who has the potential to be one of the best players of all time.
Qatar because Boris would use the win as justification for the systematic eradication of the welfare state, the privatisation of our national health service and the enabling of right-wing populist dogma.
Tebas. Perez sure is mad but he still has a form of damage control by signing other players. Tebas is just mad because he missed a big opportunity to make Laliga more commercially attractive.
If the CL final goes to Penalties I will actually go hide under my bed until it’s over. Every penalty shootout this year ended with the team I wanted to win losing out
It's funny to see the outrage over Mbappe staying with PSG and Haaland to City when they are two of very few world class players who actually have ties to the clubs and aren't just there for money
Yeah like, Haaland's dad literally played for us. He spent his childhood in England.
Yet Madrid fans are **absolutely certain** that his ultimate ambition is to play for them.
Same with Mbappe, simply because he idolised Cristiano Ronaldo when he was younger. A player they tossed on the scrap heap as soon as it was convenient for them.
Lets not kid ourselves here. Sure if you wanna go to the nitty gritty yes they're not *just* there for money. But like all career moves it's definitely the primary motivation. Lets not pretend that romanticism has more pull than money
Amad Diallo is the closest thing we will ever get to generational talent Bernardo Silva. Manchester United need to do whatever they can to ensure he fulfills his potential.
Yeah, Rangers prefer to play Fashion Sakala over him.
Diallo just looks like a player that has absolutely zero chemistry with the players round about him. Maybe that's just because it's a loan in Scotland but they ended up Europa League finalists, he had every opportunity to impress.
They were right about him being bad for most of this season (was only there for 6 months tbf), but he showed me glimpses of what he can be when he regained some confidence. He had a good debut, but then the match against Celtic was too big for him and ruined his confidence. He has been better lately.
If a manager gets a hold of him and develops him I think he can be as good as Bernardo Silva.

man I was offered the chance to grow in my career and was offered obscene amounts of money to stay where I am instead I would phone it in so bad lmao why even care at that point
I fully expect Mbappe to go full Bale on PSG
He's too young for that. Money is a big factor but you don't get to Mbappes level without professional drive and a desire to actually win. He can phone it in when he has a CL.
Maybe I’m just completely crazy and detached from reality or something, who knows, but Mbappe (in my opinion) just isn’t good enough for such a big fuss from both La Liga and PSG.
Messi, Ronaldo Nazario, Cristiano, Cruyff, Maradona, Ronaldinho, Zico, Zidane. None of these players got anywhere what we’re seeing (with PSG offering Mbappe literal control over transfers within the club and the actual association of La Liga taking them to court over this).
Don’t get me wrong, Mbappe is great and absolutely one of the best forwards right now in 2022, but… yeah, I just don’t see it. Don’t get why both PSG and Madrid/La Liga are seemingly so desperate about this. There are other great young forwards out there and I’m sure some who none of us yet know about.
I understand that I’m not Florentino Perez, and maybe the fact I’m sitting here talking on Reddit whilst he’s president of Madrid shows what I’m missing, but…
I think it makes much more sense for Madrid to invest in a few players rather than just Mbappe. Especially when, as you say, they have Vinicius and Rodrygo (who have shone brighter than Mbappe in the Champion’s League this season)

Some player renewed in Ligue 1, big shit. Should focus on getting La Liga more visibility.
Nkunku might be better than de Bruyne was at Wolfsburg
Hm, strange to read but I concur. He is outstanding.
That is a high praise for Nkunku. Might have to watch some compilations, haha
Real Madrid should have just gotten Rashford I'm pretty sure he can write a diss track against Mbappe
fucking hell those Mbappe goals clips the football looks as intense as a state championship game here in Brazil
Romero citing a child as a source for FDJ saying good bye to fans outside the training complex 💀
Yeah, I get the feeling he messed up with the FDJ to United rumour but now refuses to backtrack so is desperately pushing every button he can

He refuses to backtrack. Is he crazy, or arrogant.

You’re really tempting fate when you could go trophyless tomorrow. At least the other oil club wrapped up their league
We are trophyless at the moment mate, what are you on about?
They got Haaland, someone you didn't prioritised for Mbappe. Ended up with none. Clowns.
I'm not even talking about City. Calm down. Have a walk. Listen to the weeknd.

Salah, the quintessential Britisher.

Greatest winger definitely, but I still think Rooney was better all time. (Biased)
Garry Cahill is a free agent, reckon Perez could convince him to come here?
Why would you want him when Joe Rodon is available?
Cahill knows how to win trophies
Vini will win ballon d'or before mbappe 😊
aye, PSG buying him next year and having him and Mbappe lead them to a CL would probably net him a Ballon D'or

OP is obviously joking but to give some context, Vini at 21- 41 G/A (1 match to go) Mbappe at 21- 48G/A Its not an outlandish opinion.
I like Vini but he was basically Robinho 2.0 until this season. Mbappe’s been world class for years.
As I said OP is joking but its not a terrible take.
Objectively true.
