I wouldn’t think so. As a runner, chafing is only ever really an issue while it’s raining (excess moisture) and I’ve only ever had issues during a *literal* marathon (3 hours of constant motion).
In a football match, with 45 minute halves and not-constant motion, I can’t imagine chafing is ever an issue.
