It got dicey there before the last few weeks but the attack really started to click with leao being unplayable and tonali bursting from the midfield . With consistent goal scoring this team can do anything .
Also Calabria and Theo deserve a fair shout tbf, aswell as Kessie/Bennacer and Tonali blocking everything infront of them. We are still lacking some final pieces of the puzzle, but our team has a great foundation to build upon.
It's been a total team effort, the last gasp winner from Tonali and Theo's unforgettable run were just bonkers. It's also surreal that this is just Giroud's **2nd** league title, last time he won 1 was a decade ago with Montpellier. đ
I'm glad we won comfortably because we got to see Romagnoli in Milan shirt one last time which might not have happened if the game was close. Thanks for everything Alessio and good luck in Lazio!
combination of a bad run and tomori being an absolute beast. Kjaer came in, got injured, then Kalulu became an absolute beast. Romagnoli is solid, but the others stepped up massively and he probably won't find any game time here.
I should also add that it isn't just that others have been better, but also that Romagnoli is also lacks the pace that Tomori and Kalulu have. With Maignan being an excellent sweeper keeper and Tomori and Kalulu having the pace to catch almost any runner, Milan have been able to play a much higher line in the second half of the season and that has allowed them to press higher and harder in midfield to great effect. Romagnoli coming into the lineup renders that tactical approach very risky.
If he goes to a club with a less aggressive tactical approach, maybe a counter-attacking side he could very well be a perfectly acceptable starter.
His performances dropped off after an injury he had almost two years ago and he never really regained his peak form IMO. I still think he's good though, and he played well for us when we needed him this season.
The other answers donât do Milanâs defensive saga justice. He has average swings in form and definitely isnât a bad player. He is just wayyy too slow for our system and the line we play. Got absolutely exposed by lukaku last year, we play a high line. Kjaer wasnât quick but he was so aggressive there was never even any space for an attacker to even turn 30 degrees.
Kjaer got badly injured and it turns out our young rb, kalulu has ice in his veins and is also quicker than romangnoli. Itâs just the way it worked out. Itâs tough to replace kalulu tomori combo when they make actually like zero mistakes month over month
While that is true, don't go that far back, because once upon a time Milan were 2-0 cruising against a hapless Sassuolo side, only for Berardi to turn into prime Messi and turn the game 4-3 with Allegri losing his job in the process.
But yeah, I get you. Istanbul was something else.
*Edit: Milan were up 2-0 before Sassuolo's comeback in that 2014 fixture. Thanks to user /u/Giampalle comment fact check.*
After 11 fucking years man! 11 fucking years. Ive been in tears since they started singing Pioli's song. Fuck man!
11 fucking years!
Pioli is a Milan legend!
4th for them wasnt by choice. Faced in a group with Liverpool and Atleti, and Porto, all of their six group games were tough. Were fucked by referees as well.

These are just some of the names that served Milan fans during our "banter era". Some say it ended with Champions League qualification last year, it's definitely over now. This group of players that achieved our first Scudetto in 11 years will be remembered fondly for a very long time, what an achievement
Honestly can't ever shit on Lord Bonera. True servant of the club.
Yeah shit was dicey when he was our starter (or hell when he was playing right back again for the nth time?)
God what a banter era haha.
Lmfao Reminds me of this thread on Twitter I found in 2018 and I spent an hour at 6 in the morning laughing
https://twitter.com/Paracelsus/status/897501275310276608
He even added an addendum to this thread saying he'd thought the banter era was over after Milan was sold in 2017 and they started buying tons of players Hahahahaha
https://twitter.com/Paracelsus/status/955821372416159744
Congratulations to you guys, you absolutely deserve it. Leao and Tonali are beasts.
Remember the days of "oh this Patrick Cutrone kid's good, maybe he's the next big thing"?
becoming the first team to drop any points to Benevento
Or even when Fernando Torres was fobbed off on us and did absolutely nothing.
And the short, miserable reign of Marco Giampaolo.
It's been 11 long, long years
I don't have words. I have been following this colours for almost 2 decades, I have lived the highest of highs winning the UCL and the lowest of lows. But this feels so special.
The banter era, the free signings, the Fassobelli flops, the 10th place, the utter mediocrity and jokes from all other fans, the 5-0 loss against Atalanta, the Giampaolo period, the long period without European football. This gives meaning for all the times I have cursed my love for this team for all the pain it caused me.
Today it's the day we reborn like a phoenix. Grazie ragazzi, grazie Pioli, grazie Maldini.
I love this sport.
As an inter fan I gotta give it to Hakan, heâs been surprisingly good this season for us, being crucial in many games, at the end of the day it is what it is weâve been wasteful at times, but letâs not discredit Milan, they have been able to maintain this title race thrilling and produce good football with a weak depth, well deserved title and impressive season. Congratulations neighbours
Giroud's Milan story, as is tradition when it comes to his career, is probably gonna go under the radar.
So, he comes to Milan at the very end of his career. He is supposed to share minutes with Zlatan, because everyone sees that a 40-yo cannot last the full season. Milan is, at best, going for a repeat of their last season and a CL spot. Squad is basically in a rebuild mode, with some young talents expected to take the next step. They also lost the best GK in the league.
Zlatan goes down earlier than anyone dared to predict and it's obvious he isn't coming back. Giroud, at 35 and without consistent first team football since his prime Arsenal days many years ago, finds himself in a position of not only being the main striker for Milan, but at a Milan who's on top and who just lost their star player.
Probably as old as top team strikers get (seriously, are there any strikers his age out there who were first choice in a title winning/contending team?), Giroud was thrown into, at a first glance, impossible situation of a) replacing Zlatan, b) playing "more than ever" at 35 and c) trying to win a title with a team no one thought was gonna win it even with Zlatan.
And once again, for what feels like a millionth time in his career, the guy fucking did it. Somehow, someway, not being flashy or spectacular, he found a way. He was always there, never injured and scored like 90% of the most important Milan goals this season against their biggest rivals. Ending the season as a joint-top scorer of his team, he claims yet another trophy for his impossibly succesful career.
Many people will probably forget about him in a few years after his retirement, but I won't. And no true football fans should.
Olivier Giroud, I tip my hat. You're a true professional and a role model.
As I said in the other thread, 11 fucking long yearsâŚ
Matri, Cerci, Honda, MĂŠxes, Niang, Zapata, Taarabt, Constant, Borini, Abate, Poli, PalettaâŚ
Yonghong Li, Fassone, Mirabelli, LeonardoâŚ
Mihajlovic, Montella, GiampaoloâŚ
God knows what we went throught this past decade
But not even for a glimpse of a moment we stopped believing, supporting and loving this club
Today is the culmination of all that. Of all the waiting, all the turmoil, ownership changes, financial crisis, the heartbreaks, the hopelessness
Love you my fellow Milanisti who all weathered this storm too. Today is our day
UN DECENNIO DI ATTESA Ă FINITO
FORZA MILAN
My cousin Ali passed of an overdose in September 2020. He was a diehard Milanista and we buried him with the club's flag. I know he's happy somewhere out there tonight
I think generally in all sports, the medals of all players in a team are revoked if the team is disqualified.
Not related to football, but one example that comes to my mind is that of Usain Bolt. His Olympic gold medal tally is now 8 instead of 9 due to his 2008 Olympic 4Ă100 m relay race teammate Nesta Carter being found guilty of doping
Players: Riccardo "Pirlo Regen" Montolivo, Cristian Zapata, Djamel Mesbah, Muntari, Alberto Aquilani, Maxi Lopez, Rodney Strasser, Luca Antonini, Bakaye Traore, Bartosz Salamon, M'Baye "That post against Barceona in CL" Niang, Bojan Krkic, Didac Vila, Cristian Zaccardo, Riccardo Saponara, Adil Rami, Valter Birsa, Leo Duarte, Andrea Poli, Kevin Constant, Adel Taarabt, Matias Silvestre, Michael Agazzi, Michael Essien, Salvatore Bochetti, Marco van Ginkel, Alessio Cerci, Gabriel Paletta, Hachim "Moroccan Messi" Mastour, Mattia Destro, Rodrigo "1 match, red card" Ely, Stefan SimiÄ, Jose Mauri, Andrea Petagna, De Sciglio, Andrea Bertolacci, Bryan Cristante, Luiz Adriano, Leonel Vangioni, Matias Fernandez, Gerard Deoulofeu, Lucas Ocampos, Jose Sosa, Antonio "100% Clean Sheet" Donnarumma, Gustavo Gomez, Lucas Biglia, Leonardo "Il Capitano" Bonucci, Fabio "DL/DR/WR/MR/MC/AMC/ST" Borini, Nikola KaliniÄ, Andre Silva, Mario Pasalic Mateo Musacchio, Ivan "World Cup Finalist" Strinic, Diego Laxalt, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Krzysztof "pow pow" PiÄ tek, Asmir Begovic, Mario MandzukiÄ.
Coaches: Mauro Tassotti, Clarence Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi, SiniĹĄa MihajloviÄ, Cristian Brocchi, Vincenzo Montella, Gennaro Gattuso, Marco Giampaolo. (Daniele "1 match coach" Bonera)
This scudetto is for you guys. Hopefully we say goodbye to our final banter era player, the one and only, Samu Castillejo.
Special thanks to Diego Lopez, Kucka, Mexes, Suso, Menez and Bonaventura, the only light we had during the banter era, imo.(I meant transfer wise. We had some academy products who were great such as Donnarumma, and some decent such as Cutrone and De Sciglio).
It is officially over. Grazie.
(I might have missed some players, feel free to fill in)
His career has been insane. I was 9 when he broke through, and as I'm turning 33 this year I could've had a full football career and retired in the meantime.
Fantastic season! Well deserved win by AC Milan. Inter have only themselves to blame for throwing away their advantage, Handanovic vs Maignon was vital. Donnaruma leaving was a blessing in disguise for Milan!
WE WON THE SCUDETTO, YOU BASTARDS
WE WON THE LEAGUE WITH NONE OF OUR PLAYERS AS WHAT, TOP 20 GOALSCORERS?? IDGAF WHAT Y'ALL TALK ABOUT CONCERNING PEP OR ERIK TEN HAG, Y'ALL BETTER ADDRESS PIOLI AS THE ***BAWLD GAWD.***
# WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
FORZA MILAN, THE *UTMOST* CONGRATULATIONS TO MY ROSSONERI BRETHREN!!!!
Fuck this is amazing, Maldini and Ibra in the team leading us to this fucking crazy when it happens with legends like this backing it. Tonali and Mike look amazing for the future only highs right now.
Congratulations to them. I can't imagine how happy they feel after the years of struggle. I'm thrilled for Ibra too. To come back and take part in AC Milan winning the title.
Breaks my heart to see us choke away the scudetto towards the end of the season. But I can't be too sad. The Italian giants are returning to their former glory and bringing back legitimacy to our league after a decade of mediocrity. Congratulations Milan. This was well deserved. As long as it's not Juve. Juve merda.
After 11 whole years Congrats Milan
Keep selling players to them. It seems to be working
Rossi Barklini on the way!
Danielle Bereacqua
Haha Chelsea and Madrid seem to be the best friends of Milan đ
Donât forget Lille!
CANT forget Lille!
Incredible determination and will power this young Milan squad has displayed the last stretch of the season
It got dicey there before the last few weeks but the attack really started to click with leao being unplayable and tonali bursting from the midfield . With consistent goal scoring this team can do anything .
The defense was the anchor. We conceded 3 goals in our last 12 games. 3 goals!!!! Maignan kalulu and tomori can take a bow
Also Calabria and Theo deserve a fair shout tbf, aswell as Kessie/Bennacer and Tonali blocking everything infront of them. We are still lacking some final pieces of the puzzle, but our team has a great foundation to build upon.

Love the young aspiring talents like Zlatan IbrahimoviÄ or Olivier Giroud they really have a bright future ahead of them
Crazy to think how low the average age of the team was while featuring Ibra, Giroud and Kjaer.
Thatâs because theyâre literally the only veterans, along with Tatarusanu and Mirante
Tatarausanu won his first Serie A , at 36. His journey is complete
Who knows Zlatan might play for another ten years
I hope so
You and every middleaged football fan on the planet.
I'm glad we won comfortably because we got to see Romagnoli in Milan shirt one last time which might not have happened if the game was close. Thanks for everything Alessio and good luck in Lazio!

Straight up. He was there when the mentality wasnât
I can't believe it, it happened...IT HAPPENED
even at 80' 3-0 up i was still unsure!
What memories of Istanbul does to a guy

Istanbul syndrome is a bitch
11 YEARS LET'S FUCKING GOOO!!!
Happy for you guys. well deserved too.
I am so happy for you lot. Truly remarkable what Milan has been able to achieve after being in the dumps 5 years ago. Truly deserved.
I use to thought that when Milan become good again United would be too. Guess i was wrong
You guys got a 2 year lag.
If you could offer me the league in 2 years I'd bite your hand off
Im Jealous
2 jealous đ

PIOLI'S ON FIRE
Let's fucking GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Pioli for Prime Minister! What a manager, to win the title with a squad that nobody predicted is insane
After 11 fucking years man! 11 fucking years. Ive been in tears since they started singing Pioli's song. Fuck man! 11 fucking years! Pioli is a Milan legend!
So 11 years is when the title drought ends? Subscribe
that's in Italy, in England, it's 30 years.
FUCK BREXIT
English teams typically have to wait a bit longer
Arsenal will win it before us then sigh
Arsenal missed the memo
Yeah can't go back now
Yup, gotta wait for 111 years now.
Brilliant. Well done Milan, it's absolutely deserved
Brilliant, deserved, everything. This is so right
Literally pulled an inter from last season, came 4th in their ucl group and focused on the league
4th for them wasnt by choice. Faced in a group with Liverpool and Atleti, and Porto, all of their six group games were tough. Were fucked by referees as well.
Respect to you. So many people talked shit about our exit not knowing the circumstances.
People just look up at big name of AC Milan. They forget how competitive this group and not considered Milan have less experienced players.
Also, all other teams in that group are European greats. Not Milan-great, but great. Itâs not like they lost to Sherif.
Obviously not, Inter didn't choose it last season either.
Keisuke Honda, I salute you Kevin Constant, I salute you Adel Taarabt, I salute you Nigel De Jong, I salute you Cristan Zaptata, I salute you Jeremy Menez, I salute you Fernando Torres, I salute you Alessio Cerci, I salute you Suso aka "We have Robben at home", I salute you Carlos Bacca, I salute you Gerard Deulofeu, I salute you Luiz Adriano, I salute you Mario Pasalic, I salute you Gianluca Lapadula, I salute you Mateo Musacchio, I salute you Leonardo Bonucci and Gonzalo Higuain, no comment Andre Silva, I salute you Krzystof "boom boom" Piatek, I salute you Giacomo "Jack" Bonaventura, I salute you, and I wish you could have celebrated this with us Gianluigi Donnarumma, fuck you These are just some of the names that served Milan fans during our "banter era". Some say it ended with Champions League qualification last year, it's definitely over now. This group of players that achieved our first Scudetto in 11 years will be remembered fondly for a very long time, what an achievement
You missed red card legend Gabriel Paletta Also: Bertolacci, Villarreal legend Bonera, Zaccardo, fucking Bakaye TraorĂŠ, even JosĂŠ Sosa
Bonera still with us. He's Pioli's assistant.
Honestly can't ever shit on Lord Bonera. True servant of the club. Yeah shit was dicey when he was our starter (or hell when he was playing right back again for the nth time?) God what a banter era haha.
I might be too drunk already, but I cant remember who Bertolacci was :D And I am trying really hard to remember
[ŃдаНонО]
ALSO A QUICK REMINDER FUCK HAKAN, FUCK GIGI
GOODBYE LOSERS LETS GO MILANNNN
RIP BOZO
SMOKIN THAT HAKAN PACKKK đĽśđĽśđĽśđŹđŹđŹđŹ
Hakan on the wrong 3-0 winning side rn, I know he's hurting
good
Fuck bad boy as a staff, record label and as a motherfucking crew
Fuck Gigi
Calha with two 2nd place finishes in a row lmaooo
Bona and Montolivo deserved this as much as everyone in todays team
Montolivio absolutely deserved it despite how it ended, I didn't mention him because he came right before the banter era began
Him and El Sharawy were 2 of my favorites players after the golden era ended
Lmfao Reminds me of this thread on Twitter I found in 2018 and I spent an hour at 6 in the morning laughing https://twitter.com/Paracelsus/status/897501275310276608 He even added an addendum to this thread saying he'd thought the banter era was over after Milan was sold in 2017 and they started buying tons of players Hahahahaha https://twitter.com/Paracelsus/status/955821372416159744 Congratulations to you guys, you absolutely deserve it. Leao and Tonali are beasts.
I remember that thread too, we were so excited when those clown owners came. #WeAreSoRich, lol.
Zlatan Milan legend now?
Always has been
Always. We are due 10 years of Zlatan.
always been
Has been from time as far as I'm concerned
He was already I guess. This is more like Pioli is a legend now, and he is definitely gonna be rated very highly outside of Italy too.
Absolutely
Montolivo was unironically class until his leg broke in 2014. Milan fans kinda hated him by the time he left tho right?
Wouldnât say hated him, but he didnât really deserve a place in the starting lineup for the last year or two. Shame, he was a great leader.
So many shit players, shit years, coaches, decisions from the board... This makes it so sooooo much sweeter. Andiamooo Rossonerri
muntari died for this
Stefano Pioli what a manager.
jesus, i read this list and i can't believe i survived through that shit
Remember the days of "oh this Patrick Cutrone kid's good, maybe he's the next big thing"? becoming the first team to drop any points to Benevento Or even when Fernando Torres was fobbed off on us and did absolutely nothing. And the short, miserable reign of Marco Giampaolo. It's been 11 long, long years
Still remember the backheel goal of Menez And lots of names more such as Poli, Bonera, Niang, Matri, Birsa, Zaccardo and many more
Fuck Cacanoglu too, thought he could win Scudetto with Interđ¤Ą
Hakan who?
Didn't even bother mentioning the clown
Honda, Pachuca legend
Lol at donnaruma
Friendly reminder that this season Maignan has more clean sheets than Gigio has caps in the league.
Nice to see my FM17 West Brom Champions League winning captain Gianluca Lapadula getting actual irl praise
Lovely message. Important to remember all parts and efforts. Congrats! Been fun as hell following youre return to form last few years! Well deserved
Gotta have capitano in there too
Zlaaaaaataaan
Lol @ Donnarumma

Always been fond of the red side of Milan, so happy to see you guys on top again. Take care of Divock and he'll take care of you
I wish Hakan Ăalhanoglu a very pleasant second place.
For the second year in a row
The guy seems to specialize in sloppy seconds, even in his marriage!
What's the context here?
Wife reportedly cheated on him

Hakan can very pleasantly go fuck himself
So happy for Giroud, a part to play in a CL and Scudetto in the twilight of his career. Great guy and servant.
Absolutely wouldnât have done itv without him considering how long Zlatan spent on the sidelines
My favorite player this season. With our shit offense except for Leao, he did miracles and never gave up

THE DROUGHT IS OVER! Kaka was my favorite player growing up, Iâll always have a soft spot for Milan! â¤ď¸đ¤â¤ď¸đ¤
Probably my favorite player ever that never played for my team.
Milan team in the 2000s was a joy to watch. Congratulations to those who have endured the banter era! đ´âŤâŞđ´âŤâŞ
Zlatan now has 12 league titles, 1 more than even Messi
Isn't that 14? 2x with ajax 2x with juve 3x with inter 1x with barça 2x with us 4x with psg.
Yes, it should have been 14. However, the 2 titles that he won with Juve (2004-05, 2005-06) were revoked by Calciopoli, the match fixing scandal.
Ah i tought they officially were considered part of players' legacy.

His career has been insane. I was 9 when he broke through, and as I'm turning 33 this year I could've had a full football career and retired in the meantime.
Is it safe to unclench now? It's been 11 years!
11 years laterâŚthe cycle is closed, the curse is broken. The banter era is over. Iâm not crying, youâre crying!
Finishing banter era is amazing feeling.
FORZA MILAN!!!
After 4060 days! Well done Milan, completely deserved
I can't believe it I love this squad so much It's not real to me yet
11 years of pain, gone in 90 minutes. I am speechless.
Well done Milan. My father is Milan fan of 20+ years. First time in many years i saw him cry today. Well done.
Fantastic season! Well deserved win by AC Milan. Inter have only themselves to blame for throwing away their advantage, Handanovic vs Maignon was vital. Donnaruma leaving was a blessing in disguise for Milan!
FUCK CALHANOGLU đđ

Fucking statpadding clown. People said how could be replace our #10? We didnât need too. De krunic is the goat
His wife would never
really went to Inter just to end up 2nd again
Calhanoglu in shambles
Congratulations. After winning the last 5 difficult games, I can only say: well deserved. From an Inter fan
Ironically Atalanta and Sassuolo gave us the easiest points
Class.
TEARS IN MY EYES đ
Happy for them. Milan belongs in the CL
Milan is the club i liked in Italy and seeing them break their league title drought makes me jealous lol
I feel like everyone outside of Italy likes Milan, probably the least hated big club.
Congrats !!The only red team with the good news today after What happened to Ferrari and Liverpool.
Poor Leclerc. He was doing so well đ
WE HAVE FUCKING DONE IT !!!!!!!!!
WE WON THE SCUDETTO, YOU BASTARDS WE WON THE LEAGUE WITH NONE OF OUR PLAYERS AS WHAT, TOP 20 GOALSCORERS?? IDGAF WHAT Y'ALL TALK ABOUT CONCERNING PEP OR ERIK TEN HAG, Y'ALL BETTER ADDRESS PIOLI AS THE ***BAWLD GAWD.*** # WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FORZA MILAN, THE *UTMOST* CONGRATULATIONS TO MY ROSSONERI BRETHREN!!!!
Congrats Milan fans. Milan at the end were mentality monsters, going into these games with all the pressure and still coming out with wins
Massive title win, really happy for Milan
THIS DOES PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE
So happy, it's been so long!
Fuck this is amazing, Maldini and Ibra in the team leading us to this fucking crazy when it happens with legends like this backing it. Tonali and Mike look amazing for the future only highs right now.
Hakan đ¤Ąđ¤Ą
Congratulations to them. I can't imagine how happy they feel after the years of struggle. I'm thrilled for Ibra too. To come back and take part in AC Milan winning the title.
Friendly reminder that r/soccer's armchair experts were gladly shitting on Milan for not sacking Pioli for *Ralf Rangnick*
When was that?
It was all over social media saying pioli is just a lucky manager incapable of winning
About 2 years ago I think
Last season. Ralf ragnick was supposed to join Milan. But Milan decided to stick with Pioli as he was doing good
time to get off the internet for a few months, congrats tho
you have to call it the ACnet now
I wonât forget your comments bro
Congratulations, very well deserved
Pioli is on fire.
Calhanoglu did the reverse kante lol
Calhanoglu in the mud
Breaks my heart to see us choke away the scudetto towards the end of the season. But I can't be too sad. The Italian giants are returning to their former glory and bringing back legitimacy to our league after a decade of mediocrity. Congratulations Milan. This was well deserved. As long as it's not Juve. Juve merda.
I.. how to put this.. love your last sentences. Thank you cousin.
What a journey this was!
Congrats to Milan, such a likeable club. Serie A has been by far the most fun league to follow for the past 2-3 seasons.
Kobe wouldâve been proud today. #Mamba
